Rate this book
“What happens after we die? What is the Afterlife really like? From her own perspective, Echo shares intimate insights that she has garnered from Spirit about life after death. This book is compelling, thought-provoking, and comforting.”—Chip Coffey, costar,  Kindred Spirits

A Psychic's Exploration of Ghosts and How to Prevent It from Happening to You

"Echo Bodine is the most genuine psychic I have ever worked with..." —Dennis William Hauck, author of  Haunted Places

Well-known psychic and ghost hunter, Echo Bodine, started seeing spirits as a young girl and has been helping to set them free for decades. Most of these spirits have one thing in common—unfinished business from their lives that leaves them restless, unable to let go and move on. Some souls choose to remain closer to this dimension rather than move into the light when they die.

Here, Bodine shares her experiences and compelling investigations that have led her to see the issues from a spirit's living time on Earth which have left them restless and unable to cross over. Each story is accompanied by an exercise that will help the reader avoid the fate of a trapped, angry, or unprepared soul.

Some reasons spirits haven't gone through the light
How To Live a Happily Ever Afterlife  is an eye-opening look at spirits—at what compels and holds them—and what you can do to avoid the same fate.

This is a religious, new age self help book that supposedly will help you from becoming a ghost. Yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds but it was a short read and I needed a good eye rolling. So if you have ghost it's probably because they didn't read this book so maybe you can read this to the them and force them into the light. Because of all the garbage I figured it will take less space listing 10 things I learned.

1) Demons are blobs of negative energy from the devil. I read this at 3 am while extremely tired and was confused on why the author was talking about the devils chest area. After rereading it I realized it was blobs and now I think that the devil is a blob of jello, ripping out little pieces to create mini devils.

2) Ghosts really likes showers. The author says she doesn't know why but I bet it's obvious to the rest of us. It makes sense considering the author says ghosts can still use their energy to have relations with the living.

3) Here's something to make people very angry. Addicts are still addicts after death and remain earthbound because of it. So what do these ghostly addicts do? Possession. Yes these ghostly addicts possess living addicts at the moment the living start to do what their addicted too so the ghost can get their fix. Does this mean that addicts can now blame ghosts for their continued addictions. This confuses me because what happens when the living addict dies during their supposed possessions. Just imagine telling this to a family who has family members who suffer from addiction or died from their addictions.

4) Reincarnation is real and you can be reborn on other plants. So if you haven't found your soul mate you should look on Jupiter. And, it's also possible that you were once born as a pre-historic animal. With my luck I'm probably the one who decided that the day was nice enough for a quick swim in the tar pits unaware the other swimmers were dead or dying.

5) Being disrespectful the author claimed she used her supposed psychic skills to talk to the students killed in Columbine the same night of the shooting. She says that the moment their souls left their bodies most were greated by grandparents who was hanging around the school. It seems obvious that she said grandparents because they are more likely to die during a kids life. So there's probably a good chance that many students had experienced the death of at least one grandparent. Moving on she claims that one student crossed over alone because she was an old soul and knew where to go. Then she talks about a student who refused to cross over with his grandparents because his mom was all alone. This ghost stayed with his mom until she killed herself andvthey crossed over together. The problem is that yes a mother did die by suicide but her kid wasn't a he but a she and she didn't die in the shooting but severally injured.

6) Prayers, crosses, and garlic work to defeat and shrink ghosts. I guess ghosts can grow into giants and prayer will shrink them back to their regular size. She didn't mention garlic but if religious objects work why can't we bless garlic for back-up?

7) All the evil dictators live in a special community just for them. Imagine them sitting around on a cloud and discussing which one killed more people.

8) The ghost of those who died by suicide are also stuck on Earth looking to possess those with mental illness who has suicidal ideation. Its like the author dismisses mental illness and those who suffer from it. It's hurtful to think of all those we lost to suicide was according to the author just possessed individuals who couldn't send the spirit away.

9) Many souls are stuck due to certain religious beliefs which causes them not to grow spiritually. Their religious beliefs will hold them back unless they leave those beliefs behind. So, you have to lose those beliefs and follow her own religious ideas in order to "evolve" Her word not mine.

10) Skeptics, a person's ego, and non-believers become ghosts that are stuck on Earth. They are the ones who float around scaring innocent children, taking candy from babies, and possessing kids through demonic ouijia boards. The whole demonic ouijia board thing is so outdated. I found this the most interesting because if you're skeptical of this garbage you will become an evil sprit forced to wander the author. Sorry but that threat doesn't work on me.

I think these 10 things show that the author doesn't care about hurting people as long as she can make a buck of of it. I think I'll end this review with a qoute from Tim Minchin's storm...

"By the way, why do we think it's okay for people to pretend they can talk to the dead?Isn't that totally fucked in the head?Lying to some crying woman whose child has died and telling her you're in touch with the other side?"

This is an interesting book with a unique approach about ghosts. The author's tone is straightfoward and kind, lending toward a comforting reading experience. I enjoyed this refreshing take on using ghosts as teaching moments. The ghost stories are not the typical creepy narratives that are traditionally told. These are meant to be self-help type examples to help those who are living. The author also explains the concept of reincarnation in a clear and understandable way. I enjoyed the Conclusion chapter, where the author gives helpful advice about the ego. Overall, this is a great peek into the world beyond.

Echo Bodine has the ability to share information that is not always easy to hear in a very gentle way. Her personal experiences give her the background to offer different perspectives. This book is of great value to those who are open-minded enough to read it.
