Avery
I fell into the clutches of those hunting me. Now, I’m enslaved in chains and at their mercy.

But I’m not the woman I used to be. My weaknesses have been stripped away, unveiling a strength and defiance I never knew myself capable of. And I’ll be damned if I’m going down without a fight.

Because my mate is coming for me.

With him by my side, we will be unstoppable, and I am a storm cloud of rage ready to be unleashed.

Wyatt
I can’t think. Can't breathe. Can't exist…without her.

I failed to protect Avery, and now she's imprisoned by them. Still, I won’t give up. I will bite and claw my way to her, and when I do I will unleash my wolf on any who dared harm her.

Because failure isn’t an option. Not when a realm is at stake and my mate’s life is on the line.

I can only hope that I’m not too late.

A good end to the series.

I will say I was disappointed with Avery and her aversion to Wyatt’s protectiveness. I don’t feel like he manipulated her at all to go into the safe room. I understand she has lost her memories and she doesn’t understand the whole protective wolf thing, but even after he explains why he does it she doesn’t back down. He really shouldn’t have to fight his instincts and Avery shouldn’t make him. Her attitude towards Wyatt during most of this book made me give this a lower star rating. He tries his damn hardest to stop doing what he does naturally and I don’t think he apology cut it. I’d of liked a conversation between the two of them after she got her memories back to see if she still felt the same way because before she lost her memory she never mentioned anything about his protectiveness/wolf instincts (that I can remember but If she did it hasn’t registered with me). This actually made me dislike Avery because she seemed to do a 180 on the way she felt about Wyatt so I could understand his anxiety and annoyance at her constantly changing her mind about him.

I’m glad we met Eliza again as I thought with us meeting Charlotte we should meet her too but their encounters were brief. I really wanted something after everything settled down showing them catching up as it was mentioned a few times between Eliza and Avery that the three would meet but we didn’t see it.

I’m glad Avery was allowed to keep some of magical abilities after the Goddess took her powers back and graduate from the academy. I feel like the ending was a bit lacklustre, like they built up all of this with the Elf and he met a quick ending. I don’t know I was expecting something different but it was still a great story.

I will read her other books because I enjoy her writing style. It’s easy to read and flows well. I’d of liked more sexy scenes but I feel like was for readers going from YA to NA but still it was an enjoyable read and I hope her other work is just as good

Easy read again, more like YA series.

After reading the second book, I decided I'd leave any more reviews until this last book. It was partly because of the way story was being paced by the author, and because I suspected I would be writing the same sort of review each time.
All in all, it's an easy series to read. It's not overly complicated and if you read other paranormal/urban fantasy books, the types of supernaturals here are pretty standard.
The main issue I have with this is that although the story did progress well (although I think it could have been done in 3 books), it also seemed to just get to a level and stay there. Whilst there were lots of action/battle scenes, I just wasn't overly 'gripped'.
Wyatt and Averys relationship was on and off but again, it just wasn't really that engaging. They were likable enough and what I did like was that it bought up the whole dominant side of a wolf shifters. Occasionally in other books, it can get a bit uncomfortable in as much as the female is borderline bullied rather than it being a true/love match. In this case, the author did manage to not only bring attention to this, via Nicholas, but by also letting Avery have a stronger voice about it.
I mentioned in my earlier review that I thought the other new recruits would fade away and that was the case, but I was glad Charlotte came back in to as I think she was,if not better, than certainly written equally as well as Avery. I also like Nicholas, as he was written with both a bit of snark and sarcasm which is always good for me.
Despite it being classed as 18+, and whilst the sex scenes might be too graphic for younger than 16, it read to me like young adult fiction and I suspect that's why I feel a bit indifferent to it. I doubt I'll read the author again, but if you prefer gentler pnr,  this might be for you.

This was book 4/4, and again, I listened at 2.5x speed. I marked it as a DNF just because I skimmed through about 50% because I was getting antsy for the end, but if you're not completely ADD like me, then you'll be able to read the whole thing and be fine.

SERIES NOTES:
I haven't binge-finished a series this fast in a minute! It's definitely an easy listen and on Kindle Unlimited!

I listened to all four of these books in quick succession because they're short, which almost made them better. These books held my attention far longer than most kindle unlimited reads lately - with quick action scenes and just enough detail to keep it from being a full-on novella short

Repetitive

The book series started out great. But then it just became too repetitive on there feelings. Like yeah I get it you have feelings for each other. Then the whole strikingly hand through his hair. Like okay we get it. Honestly there was just pages that made it seem like they were trying to extend the length of the book trough unnecessary wording. Got to the point I was skipping through and felt like I wasn't missing anything by skipping three pages at a time.

An emotional and magical finale that had me hooked. I loved the passionate love drama between Avery and Wyatt—it was intense and heartfelt. The Goddess of Time brought a mystical depth to the story, and her gift to Avery was a powerful moment that gave me chills. Fast-paced, romantic, and rich with supernatural intrigue, this book was a satisfying end to an unforgettable series.

We're finally at the end of this series, and whilst it was flawed at times, it was generally pretty entertaining. It was certainly quick to get through, which is a huge bonus. I do think it could have been condensed into fewer books, but it is what it is. It definitely read more of a YA book than an NA book, apart from the explicit sex scenes, so I would bear that in mind if you decide to venture into this world.

Happy to say I thought this was the best of the four books in the series…Although I am happy to move on to other reads, I will miss Avery and Wyatt as I have spent so much time with them this week and well into the nights!
Spoilers ahead…
Avery is brought to a remote mountainous area by the Elf Lord and his Warlock followers filled with caves and tunnels. She is unsuccessful in escaping herself given the binds that the Elf Lord has placed on her. Avery is visited by the Fae Goddess of Time while in captivity. Not only does Avery learn about the background and curse that has brought her to this point, she also learns that the Goddess lay dormant currently in the same tunnels. The Elf Lord has brought them together so that he can take all the power of the goddess that resides in Avery and kill them both. Eventually, the Lord and the Warlocks bring them outside the tunnels to complete the ritual that will complete his goal.
Meanwhile, Wyatt and others at the SF learn of the plan and set out to rescue Avery. Once they reach the ritual site, Wyatt shifts to his wolf (we finally get to see this which I was hoping for) and attacks the Elf Lord only to be nearly killed in the process as well as other members of the SF. Avery is finally able to wield the Goddess’s power and stops time, rescuing the entire SF party and bringing them far away to safety…even carrying the dead. She returns to kill the Lord and warlocks who are frozen, but the Elf Lord is able to break through it to at least tell her that she and the Goddess as well as him are intricately bound. To kill him would kill the Goddess. Instead, Avery opts to kill the warlocks and severs the legs of the Elf Lord to slow him down while she escapes with the others.
Eventually, after a visit with the Goddess, she leads the SF sorcerers to break the bond between the Goddess and the Elf, but not her. She is able to return to the fae realm and get rid of the Lord once and for all. However, she is not able to complete the task even with the Goddess’s full magic due to the army of trees the Elf Lord has created. Fortunately Wyatt gets there in the nick of time with backup and Avery is finally able to destroy the Elf King.
Once back at the SF Headquarters, the Fae Goddess has awoken. She takes back her powers, but leaves Avery with a great deal of magic and also restores her memory.
Wyatt is able to finish his promise to Marcus and train his son Elijah as a new recruit and Avery will be able to become an SF ambassador with Wyatt at her side.
This book was steamy and it also seemed like it had a great balance of other elements which make a better read. There was much more depth to the plot, more satisfying descriptions and background on the magical beings/world, and a lot of action which is probably why I liked it the most in the series.

An okay read. Pretty much the same as the others. Kinda meh. The first book was so fun and had a nice vibe. I think we could’ve had two really good books max. Instead we had 4 kinda mid ones.

For an 18+ book it just felt a bit childish. The spicy scenes were pretty good. But the main characters were just kinda dense. Like at the end, she gets powers and goes “I’m not weak and useless anymore yayyyy.” But like the whole thing was supposed to be that she has a soul of steel and didn’t need the powers. Kind of defeated the purpose. Like I said, just kinda childish.

I'm sad it's over

Wow. This series was amazing. Truly. Of course this book has a HEA ending. No pregnancy though which I love and hate. As a mom pregnancy endings are a fav of mine.

Avery learns so much in this book, about herself and her friends. Her character growth is amazing is this book. At the very end of this book the Author even offers a bonus chapter if you text or join her mailing list. I cannot tell you how quickly I sent that text lol!

Wyatt learns alot about himself as well. He learns some of his flaws and sees the mistakes. Though he is so hard on himself. I loved how much angst was there between him and Avery. Both characters growing in their own ways but that causes issues.

But love prevails. I wasn't a fan of how many times Wyatt runs his hand throw his hair. Hence the 4 stars. This book is spicier than the last one but I have a special place in my heart for book 3 lol.

I'm sad it's over the past 3-4 days every chance I got I'd read just one more chapter until before I knew it the book was over and I was rushing to download the next book.

I already added the hardback versions on a book list I keep on my Amazon account. I'd proudly tell people to read this book and therefore ot deserves a place on my shelf! Though I hope to see maybe a special edition in the future.

All in all it was a fun ride. This series had everything I was looking for and more!

A great end to a really enjoyable series for me.
I found it really good that the author was able to rebuild relationships and keep some of the angst and suspension in the book right to the last in the series, this was a little predictable as a plot but it was the finale in what’s been building so I can forgive that.

I still really enjoyed the character around the Avery but not Avery so much herself in this last instalment.

Wyatt was a dream and I still loved him the whole way through and really felt for him in this book.

World building again was really great in this book. I also love the magic system and mixture of magical creatures and characters in this world, I found it really well put together, believable and had history and law.

Well worth reading this series for anyone into smutty paranormal fantasy

Avery and Wyatt were oddly really cute. I really didn't want to like this series as much as I did, and I finished it super quickly. It wasn't hard to read, and it kept you engaged enough that reading didn't feel like work.

I think the first book was definitely the best. The rest of the series was fine but it wasn’t really captivating. The ending kind of felt anticlimactic as well.

Wyatt and Avery’s relationship was just weird after the first book, especially with the amnesia plot lasting throughout the entire third book at 90% of the fourth book. Avery was basically two different characters for an equal amount of time.

I’m glad Avery called him out on his overprotective BS because again, they just didn’t seem like a good match. I feel like they really only fell for each other because they were mates.
Lowkey wanted to see more of Nicholas.

Action packed ending to an awesome series.

Avery has been abducted by the powerful Elf Lord and Wyatt is going to get her back, he doesn’t care what he has to burn to the ground. The action scenes in the first 25% of the book are worthy of any Hollywood action/adventure movie. In fact, I would LOVE to see what Hollywood could do with this series. You better believe I’d line up to watch it.

Avery finally figures out that the goddess is talking to her in her dreams. It is she who is showing Avery what has happened, what will happen, and how to prevent it. While Avery FINALLY knows how to tap into the goddess’s power, her body is still human so there are limits to what she can do and for how long she can do it. But the entire faerie realm is at stake, and Avery must rise to the occasion if she is to save both her friends and the realm.

I have LOVED this series, and this book is no exception. Seriously, the battle scenes had me on the edge of my seat. My only criticism is Avery’s attitude towards Wyatt. She’s actually a bit of a bitch to him. I kinda understood her point, but I felt her reaction was a over the top. I was very happy when that silliness was finally over. Communication is key, right?

I love so many of the secondary characters too, and wish they would get their own books. Number one would be Nicholas. My lovable vampire would-be boyfriend. I really liked the interaction and resolution of the quarrel between he and Wyatt. I just feel like there’s more to him than meets the eye, and I would love nothing more than to explore that. Charlotte is such a strong character, that she screams for her story to be told. And what can I say about Bavar? At one point I almost hoped this was going to be a RH story with Wyatt, Nicholas and Bavar. But the story as it is is just perfection. But that doesn’t mean I’m not hopeful that these guys won’t make an appearance in a starring role at some point in the future.

I highly recommend the series. The books must be read in order and each one ends on a cliffhanger. There is an epilogue, so we get a peek into what the future holds for our main couple.

I’m not going to lie…I wasn’t super happy with this installment in the Supernatural Institute series. That dang memory loss storyline really killed things for me and left me frustrated throughout the entire book 📕 Definitely not my favorite final book in one of Krista Street’s series…😕

The plot and writing, once again, was incredibly crafted and very compelling. Street is a pro at making her stories interesting, and complex, yet easy to read, which is something I love about her ✍🏼 The development of Avery’s powers and the revelations surrounding the elves and their history was enthralling and truly fascinating 🧐 How the fae were able to create a new world after their extinction really solidified the world-building in Street’s series.

With that said, and while I thought the ending and the bonus chapter were very fitting and a perfect HEA for Wyatt and Avery, I struggled to truly connect with the story ☹️ Avery was such a difficult FMC to relate to and the portrayal of her character came across as aggressive and unkind. While I most definitely agree that Wyatt did not need to dominate Avery, and she was fully capable of taking care of herself, I felt as if the she threw ALL the blame on him for literally ANYTHING that went wrong 🫠 I feel like her character had a type of “reverse” development and that was unsettling.

Yet, I have to say, I loved that Avery fell back in love with Wyatt, even knowing his flaws (which I think she wouldn’t have identified if she hadn’t lost her memories), which makes the story more wholesome 🫶🏼 I also loved seeing her learn to grow in Versalle’s power and thought it was super special that the goddess granted Avery a sliver of power to keep after the battle was won 🏆 Plus, how cute was it that Avery (in the bonus chapter) became an ambassador AND had a stint in the bakery business 🍪 Absolutely *chef’s kiss* PERFECT 💋

I’m sad to say goodbye to Street’s writing (since I’ve read all of her books, literally ALL of them at this point), but here’s to holding out hope for another series in this amazing world she created 🤞🏽💗

I read this whole series super quickly & can't quite remember all my thoughts, so I am going to just review it all here so I don't forget even more. This series was quick and easy! I actually never really got tired of the storyline, though some books did piss me off in the end. I enjoyed the tension, the spice, and the overall flow of the story.. despite knowing it was all going to work out in the end..this series wasn't uber predictable.

You know, I liked this series enough, but the one thing that kept me from truly enjoying it was the MMC (Wyatt). He's a little too controlling, and not always in a cute and sexy way.

In this book, he was told he was smothering the FMC because he was too controlling and protective, which was one of the things that led to her being kidnapped. She was mad at him because of that, but in the next chapter, the author thought it was a good idea to drop the following line from Avery:

Ok, so it's not his fault that he manipulated her, it's actually her fault because she let herself be manipulated..... Right...

Nice victim blaming, Krista.

3.5/5 🌶️

One of the things I Iiked most about this series was how fast paced, and easy these books were to read. The plot just keeps rolling, and keeps you interested!

Only reason I knocked a star was I really struggled with the whole “Wyatt is to controlling and dominant so we might not be meant for each other” plot. I didn’t think he was that bad, it’s his literal nature to protect Avery. My man’s is perfect and always trying to improve himself for Avery, and thank goodness she finally recognized that or id have to shake some sense into that girl.

Also, I feel like the last two books of the series Avery was essentially a totally different person than she had been before the comet, and I didn’t really like the new her as much. It’s hard when you learn to love a character in previous books, just to barely tolerate in later ones.

That being said I’m glad she kicked butt, saved the world, and now she and Wyatt can live happily ever after 😍.

Overall, easy read romantasy that i definitely recommend 🙌💕.

DNF. Made it through the 1st and 2nd books without issue. Third book was rough because the plot barely advanced and there were major inconsistencies regarding memory loss. This final book started bad and got worse. DNF 20% in.

Spoilers…

I struggled in book 3 when the author wanted us to believe that Wyatt, the SF commander is an irrational fool and made him apologize for smart decisions. By the end of Book 3, we’re supposed to be mad at him for not trusting that Avery can capably fight and securing her in a panic room with the other civilian. Avery failed her fighting test just a few days ago against regular fairies and sorcerers, has repeatedly said she can’t use her power on command, has risked injuring those around her when she does use it, and now we’re supposed to believe she can defend herself against warlocks and elves?!

Book 4 became DNF when the author continued to berate Wyatt for not letting Avery fight. She makes Avery a super hero while Wyatt became unreliable, apologetic, and insecure. Unbelievable character regression.

DNF - 65% through and i could not force myself to finish this book!

I love this series but holy cow! You do not get to complain about your man insisting on you going to a safe room during a battle and then in the next breath admit that you don’t know how to use your magic and you need to find a STICK to fight with. This literally becomes a theme in this book. Making an issue out of a non-issue. Why is she so mad? She would have been a distraction and a liability.

But don’t tell me what to do! I’m a strong independent woman and i don’t need you! I know you said i should eat and i know my stomach keeps growling but I’m too stubborn to admit you’re right so i refuse to eat. You thought we were making love? Ha! We were just ducking. I would do that with anyone.

Talk about character development! Avery went from lovable to obnoxious! I hate her so much in this book that i don’t want to finish it because that will mean that she gets a happily ever after… and she doesn’t deserve one!

Avery and Wyatt are pulled apart at the beginning of this book, but by the end everything is perfect! She fights the Elf lord that wants to steal the goddesses power a couple if times. Her and Wyatt work through their issues and she starts to fall for him again. And at the end it doesn't matter because the goddess gives Avery her memories back.

I feel like this had so much potential, but I think the story is too convenient with characters and plots that are very contradictory at times.

1. Did I like the resolution? I guess yes, but considering it it a "fantasy" story, it ended like a romance story.
2. Had a good plot twist? They did not wow me.
3. Were characters’ personalities relevant? I loved Wes, he strickes me as a very level headed man and the Bavar and Nicholas were cool as well. Averly annoyed me at times and so did Wyatt, but over Wyatt was better than Averly. I guess when other characters are more interesting than your protagosnist then you obviously have a problem.
4. Did it have intelligent dialogue? I like the vulnerability at times but too unreal sometimes.
5. Was the story coherent and consistent? Noup. Felt like one page there were some rules and suddently they whereconviniently tweak for plot development.
6. Would I reread it? I don't think so.
7. Did you skip over at some point? Yes I did and still manage to get a good grasp of what was going on.
8. Did you consider DNF? Yes? I usually go into default skim through before actually DNFing.
9. If it is a whole series, would you consider reading it? I did. But no more. It is too inconsistent.
10. How was technical execution? Not that good. I wish there where more planning to the story in term of easing the reader into the story. The fact that characters ask so that another can impart the info that just drops is a very basic level of telling you instead of showing you. This could have easily be a very good trilogy. Over all the writing was not bad, I just which the story was better develops. The plot has potential, but it failed to deliver.
11. Are all loose ends tied up seamlessly?  Tied but not seamlessly more like conviniently.
12. How would you feel if you forgot the story? I think I will prefer to spend my time in other books.

I was so excited to read this book after the previous novel’s shocking cliffhanger, and it did not disappoint. I’m always impressed by Street’s ability to have just the perfect amount of separation between the main characters. If they’re away from each other for too long, I get bored, but if the separation is over too quickly, the danger and excitement are both minimized. Street manages to balance this perfectly in a way that keeps the plot moving and suspenseful. And I adore how she wrote Wyatt’s character. He is one of the most steadfast heroes I have read in quite some time, and I admired his dogged pursuit of Avery, no matter the obstacles in his way. Avery, though, did disappoint me a little. I thought she put too much blame on Wyatt and was rather unreasonably upset with him. I was kind of annoyed with how she so vehemently protested Wyatt’s protectiveness of her.

I enjoyed that we got to see each of my favorite secondary characters return in this epic finale, and everything was perfectly tied up. The conflict wasn’t wrapped up too quickly, which is often a downfall of books in this genre, and I thought the resolution was incredibly creative and surprising. However, I do wish after all of the hardships Wyatt and Avery suffered through that we would’ve been able to see more of their future together. They spent the majority of the series on again off again, and it would’ve been really satisfying to just enjoy their connection and happiness for a bit longer.

Overall, this was an exciting conclusion to a fantastic series. I am absolutely anxious to see what Street writes next!
