Tsugumi Ōba (Profile in Japanese: 大場 つぐみ), born in Tokyo, Japan, is a writer best known for the manga Death Note. His/her real identity is a closely guarded secret. As stated by the profile placed at the beginning of each Death Note manga, Ōba collects teacups and develops manga plots while holding his knees on a chair, similar to a habit of L, one of the main characters of the series.

There is speculation that Tsugumi Ōba is a pen name and that he is really Hiroshi Gamō. Pointing out that in Bakuman the main character's uncle was a one-hit wonder manga artist who worked on a gag super hero manga, very similar to Gamō and Tottemo! Luckyman in all aspects. Also that the storyboards drawn by Ōba greatly resemble Tottemo! Luckyman in style.

This is another wonderful volume full of action. As the action escalates, and after a lot of twists and turns, we still have to get a resolution as the action moves onto the next volume, and that's alright. The art is great, and the action is frantic.

I have always loved comics, and I can and I have. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love, and I hope you will always love it. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Ah, Platinum End you are so weird.

So, something finally happens in this one which is nice. Saki does something and is more than "the girl“ and there is one very funny joke involving a Trump Mask. The art is obviously beautiful as always. Hajime and the angels are probably the most interesting characters at this point. The main characters unfortunately stay very bland, especially lead Mirai.

The dialogue can be so awkward. I really have no other word to describe it. It’s the weirdest kind of exposition and oversharing in the most inappropriate situations (so great you taught your little sister how to count while she was in the bathtub, Kanade. Why does that matter in the middle of a battle?)

The most irritating aspect however is again the use of color. It’s not as confusing as it was with the wannabe Power Rangers in Volume 3 (or was it 4?) but it’s still irritating. Why put so much emphasis on color, if you know exactly it will be published in black and white?

Oh well, it continues to be just interesting enough to read on, but we certainly don’t have another smash hit like Death Note here.

This series continues to wow me with the angelic artwork. It's in stark contrast to all the mecha going on now; it's an interesting juxtaposition. I'm more interested in the angels, myself.

Congrats to Revel in this one! So proud! And Saki is actually useful and helps out a ton! Proud of her too!

Story is kind of dragging at this point. Getting redundant. I think it's time to wrap it up. Kanade is a sucky villain, he just floats around or sits in his little chair being grumpy and generally without any other personality traits. I mean Hajime is a more compelling character than him (I kind of like him as an ally, even though it's only because of the red arrow).

I'll keep going with it, because of Death Note, but this volume was all over the place. Hard to follow action scenes, very little actual plot, and not enough explanation given to some of the new powers gained by our candidates and Angels.

This volume is totally ruined by the fact that I was forced to see an underwear shot of a little girl. It was absolutely unnecessary and not needed at all

This plot is just so messy, it really doesn't feel as put together as "Death Note" did.

Platinum End, Vol. 6 continues where the previous tankobon left off and contains the next four chapters (16–19) of the on-going manga series.

Mirai Kakehashi is outnumbered with Kanade Uryu as Metropoliman and Sokotani Hajime. Instead of fighting the duo, Mirai Kakehashi steps into the mirror house and becomes trapped himself. The trap is devious one must be in constant motion or are killed. Therefore, Mirai Kakehashi and Nanato Mukaido picked up his daughter and wife respectively and take flight with their angel wings. They will continue to fly until they tire out, but hopefully before then they would find a way of escape.

Meanwhile Revel is having difficulty taking the mantle of Angel of Knowledge away from Baret. He tries to absorb as much knowledge he could, but he could retain it and realizes he could not replace Baret as Angel of Knowledge. Watching Saki Hanakago, his charge, keeping vigil for her comrades, who wants to be in the field, but can't, made him empathize with her to the point that he shed tears – a feat though impossible for angels. He was promoted to Angel of Emotions and gave his wing abilities Saki Hanakago – the first thing she did was to shoot a red arrow in Sakotani Hajime, made him fall in love with her, and to free her comrades within the trap.

Just as they are freed and Nanato Mukaido's family is safe, Kanade Uryu as Metropoliman returns (he left shortly after Mirai Kakehashi enter the trap) with three allies he had charmed with a red arrow. One of them is Bakumatsu Ryuji – a military agent who disappeared with a great number of weapons. Another is Kohinata Fuyuko a scientist that uses biological weapons to kill. The third is an unknown child reportedly with psychic powers, but wears an enormous mask of Donald Trump.

Prior to fighting the battle, Mirai Kakehashi stabs Saki Hanakago, who stabbed Nanato Mukaido, who stabs Mirari Kakehashi with red arrows simultaneously. It is a backup measure so that they would not be hit with a red arrow from Metropoliman or his associates and become succumb to the enemy. Sokotani Hajime was able to doge the firepower of Bakumatsu Ryuji and managed to sever his hand with his sword and Mirai Kakehashi used his white arrow on the biological weapon that Kohinata Fuyuko tried to use, by killing the living matter in the weapon.

Tsugumi Ohba has written another wonderful tankobon. I particularly liked how Revel was promoted – it was emotionally poignant and was depicted well. The battle was depicted well and I was somewhat glad that it was a one-on-one match, because if they went all out – following eight combatants would be difficult on the page. However, having it being a one-on-one match does not seem very realistic. As always, Takeshi Obata's art is simply amazing and accentuates the text rather well.

All in all, Platinum End, Vol. 6 is a wonderful continuation of the series and I can't wait to read more. I'm intrigued to find out how the story continues.

I have enjoyed this series so far, but not as much as any of the previous Ohba/Obata works, this one feels a little too jumbled, maybe too many characters from the start? It seems to employ a similar cat/mouse game from Death Note between the two main characters, but is less gray about who is 'justice.'
I like that the series touches on a range of experiences in the various characters, and how their backgrounds affect their decisions, but again, I feel like this series could do with some more introspection and a tiny bit less fan service and violence.

What I really fear is that this series will just continue to ramp up with new superpowers until it turns into Dragon Ball Z or Naruto and keeps going into the double digits and beyond. One thing I've really enjoyed about Ohba/Obata's series is that they don't drag on, they tell the story, and then it's done. It doesn't turn into arc after arc until the story loses all meaning and all but the most die-hard fans move on to something else.

That said, Platinum End is still a nice series, different from the majority of same-same manga series available.

With Mukaido's family used as bait he fell into the trap set by Metropoliman in the last volume. To save him and his family Mirai takes a desperate gamble but will it spell doom for all or will a miracle be over due as their speed is the only thing preventing them from being killed right now.

Revel is desperately trying to increase her rank for Saki's sake who wants to be of help but lacks the wings that allow the others to move at insane speeds. However Metropoliman has a few more members then Hajime Sokotani whom he left to watch the one way mirror house and at least two of them get to join the conflict. Just wait till you read how our heroes attempt to overcome impossible odds time and again. :)

Story 2,4/5
Zeichenstil 4,0/5
Charaktere 3,0/5
Gesamt 3,0/5

worst volume yet. so boring, odd and awkward dialogue, unnecessary sexualization. only stopped being boring in the last chapter but it was a stupid plot point. i mean (small spoiler) how did she attach that button to her heart like that, and seemingly through both her nipples?? without fuckin dying and probably while on drugs? 2 stars is very generous and it's only cause the art is so good but a lot of this series plot is so dumb it's beyond me that this is the same person who wrote death note. don't know if i'm gonna finish this series, i am curious what will happen next and all that but i also feel like there's so many better ways i could spend my time. are the next vols worth it?

Sublime!

Probably one of the better volumes since it moved super fast. Watching the two baddies work together is interesting but the twist to turn one against the other was great. The fights are fun even if they're really fast and hard to understand what is happening at times. I hated the whole trapped for 80 pages do something narrative but guess had to. Overall, another solid volume of a decent series.

I really love the designs on a lot of these characters. The craziness of them fits the characters and the facial emotions match as well which is really cool. Real smart move from red tho. The plot thickens!
