If you're looking for a book that tells you to take Sominex tonight and sleep, safe and restful, sleep, sleep, sleep, don't bother with this publication. The author is a naturopathic doctor, so you won't receive any instructions to visit your drug store for over the counter sleep aids. On the other hand, you will receive recommendation to use natural substances like essential oils and melatonin to help improve your sleep if you have problems falling into a state of restful, healing slumber. This book really is not focused so much on sleep itself, which is good for me because I struggle with the opposite problem-too much sleep. I'm confident that I can beat Laura's husband in a race. She said it takes him thirty seconds to reach the first phase of sleep. I don't think I hold out as long as a rodeo wild bronc rider. Fortunately, this book is full of wisdom on how to improve your life, which in turn will lead to better sleep. The author is dexterous with her use of analogies. She uses kudzu, toll booths, and monsters to illustrate her points in a way that people can relate. She even includes some original poetry along with some colorful phraseology to satiate those who enjoy seeing words employed in a stimulating fashion. Her real world stories add spice and an air of practicality to her recommendations to live your life to the fullest desire of our Heavenly Father. Some of you will be put off by her watershed experience of being baptized in the Holy Spirit and her doctrinal views which flow from that encounter. If so, I highly recommend you put aside your preconceived notions and willingly accept a witness that eagerly shares the most wonderful and impacting experience of her life. You may discover that this book perhaps is more about waking up than going to sleep.

I liked the way the author, Laura Harris Smith, was straightforward when she shared some personal experiences, two of which were life and death situations. God always came through for her, giving her His Freedom and peace. Her section regarding “If you – Then I will” really caused me to take a good look at my life. I went before the Lord, and went through a “reset” of my life. I saw that I needed to rectify some things, with the help of the Holy Spirit. You will not go wrong with the purchase of this book. It will cause some serious thinking about your life. Since we are all imperfect humans, I promise you there some areas in your life that need a “reset.” Give it – or them – to God and go to bed.

This book has a lot of good Information in it. Many aspects are touched on, including environmental factors, lifestyle and emotions. Solutions are offered, along with anecdotal evidence supporting the ideas. Sometimes I found myself just smiling as I would read a passage. In a good way. Some things made me stop and think. I would occasionally reflect on my personal faith. That’s never a bad thing, to have a book cause you to learn and grow. I particularly though about the dreams, as I don’t dream much and seldom remember. It’s something I’d like to change. It is important to note that it is written from a strictly Charismatic Christian viewpoint, so some subjects may not resonate with every reader. All in all, an enjoyable read!

This book was terrible. I cannot number how many times she took the bible out of context and twisted it to fit into her message. This isn't a biblical book at all. Stay away from this book!

Who Has Been Up All Night Worrying? Stressing? Flipping Out?

I will confess I have! I realize now that it not only had an effect on me but on my children who are now adults. I have come a long way since then but this book still jumped out at me. I always feel God uses your issues to help others. This book helped me. I believe it can help you…

I do feel there are always going to be parts that you don’t agree with in books like this. I challenge you that if it’s a theological issue something maybe I didn’t catch that you pray on it and keep reading.

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.
