Strawberry-blonde locks cascading down her shoulders, adding to the perfection she carries with those innocent eyes that have no business looking around my shop.
Until now.
Because now, the angel is standing in my tattoo parlor that’s run by my crew of mafia misfits. It doesn’t matter the girl is barely legal—I’ll be damned if I don’t stake my claim.
And since this innocent girl made her choice, picking my shop to come stumbling into—she’s not leaving until I make my mark.
Sweet Nina, an 18-yr-old strawberry haired, hazel-eyed granddaughter is grieving. The only comfort she has in saying good-bye to her beloved grandfather is that he only had one brief week of mourning before he followed his beloved wife into death. Now, he has been laid to rest beside his wife for eternity. And while Nina knows that their reunion in death has left her truly alone since her mother left her not long after her birth 18 years earlier, she can only be glad that her loving grandparents are together again.
But she does feel fear and desperation gathering around her even though she has only one month of school left before she graduates and 3-months of rent payments covered by her grandfather’s life insurance policy. But she wants something permanent in her life to mark her grandfather’s death, something that she can look at and take comfort in seeing. So, she has decided that the mark will be a tattoo of a finch on her wrist—a memory of love that lives beyond death. Her bff Serena has given her the address of Mural the shop of tattoo artist, Vance Calvecio, whom Serena has promised can create the mark that Nina is seeking.
Vance Calvecio, 37, is the younger brother of mafia boss Mateo Calvecio and has recently been forced to become more involved in his older brother’s business. Mateo helped Vance buy out his partner after Vance discovered the partner and Vance’s wife had developed a very close, personal relationship that made her continued marriage to Vance impossible. In exchange for the buy-out money, Vance has agreed that Mural would serve as a laundry for Mateo’s illegal money. But more importantly, Vance needs to forget the deceit of his former wife and partner. So, when sweet Nina finds her way into Vance’s tattoo parlor, she needs a man who can help her navigate the challenges facing her--she needs a man who will keep her safe and teach her, and Vance recognizes that Nina, in her innocence, is a girl whom he can trust completely.
BL Brooks teases the readers with several plot threads—both titillating and disastrous—while also promising true love as a possibility. I received a free copy of this book via BookSprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I knew this was a quick read, only 56 pages I think, so I knew the story and action would come fast and hard. I am not a prude, I read lots of Dark Romances, Mafia, age gap, Noncon, PN, I'll give just about anything a try and I hate to give a bad review, so I won't. I will say this was not for me. She is barely 18 and still in HS, broken hearted from the loss of her GP's. She wants to get a tattoo to remind her of her lost family. So, this man, who is more than twice her age, has no clue of her situation, and when he first sees her, his thoughts are not of, she looks lost, hurt, sad etc, nope, it's I want to see, smell, touch, taste and pound into her. He was very protective of her and wouldn't allow anyone to harm, hurt or disrespect her, which was good of him. So it becomes a personal choice to each person as it should be. Sherrie
This is book number 2 of the A Possessive Mafia Romance series and focuses on Vance and Nina. Nina has experienced a devastating loss recently so she goes to a tattoo shop to get a tattoo in honor of her grandfather. As soon as Vance sees her, he immediately knows she's the one. He falls hard and fast and is determined to tie her to him as quickly as possible. This was a great book and a great addition to the series!

If you are looking for a quick insta-love romance, look no further! Sometimes I like a nice short story where the characters just click and live HEA. This was a perfect book for that. The characters were likable quickly and you felt great about them getting together. Was it realistic? Ummm...no, but to me, that's the point! Sometimes it's just nice to imagine that two people fall in love instantly and are addicted to each other forever. This is a totally feel-good story!

The moment Nina walked into mafia misfit Vances tattoo shop, he knew should would be his, his innocent angel. Nine wanted to get a memorial tattoo for her grandfather even though she has a fear of needles. But Vance can see she needs more than a tattoo, she needs ears to listen and a shoulder to cry on only then will he give her a tattoo and his mark, but can she accept a much older and mafia connected man like Vance? Well written steamy quick but still jam packed with insta loving hotness!

The author has given us a wonderful older man/young woman story that pulls us into the lives of Nina and Vance and does not let go. After the death of her grandparents, Nina decides to get a tattoo as a reminder of the love she and her grandparents shared. When she walks into the shop owned by Vance, their lives will never be the same.

3.5- Woman wants to get a tattoo in honor of her grandparents. Man glances at woman and wants to be the one to give her the tattoo. He comes from a mob family and isn’t sure if he wants to involve her in it, so he becomes protective. Was a nice/short read.

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was so heartbreaking at the beginning, but, even in her pain, when she saw him, and lusted for him, even not knowing who he was, that was fate. When he saw her, it was electric! It was reciprocated. And it was forever. Loved their epilogue.
