The second part of Darwin’s New Clothes explores the key concepts and primary questions underlying the intelligent design/accidental life debate. Multiverse theory, emergence, and the philosophy of physical reductionism are critiqued, as are chaos theory, quantum mechanics, and SETI. The primary questions of purpose in nature and testability of the competing theories get a close look, as does Charles Darwin himself. Fascinating new possibilities arise from the new multiverse/brane world theories of physics and cosmology, possibilities very relevant to the intelligent design debate.
