He broke my heart and he deserted Stoneview. He abandoned his twin and his friends, and he left me behind to confront it all by myself.
And Nathan? Well…he stayed.
Lovers’ betrayals, enemies’ redemptions, and families’ secrets. I’m a few months from graduation, the clock is ticking, and my life won’t stop spinning.
Tick-Tock, it’s time to stop pretending to be a good girl.
But above all?
It’s time to make a choice.
This book is approximately 135,000 words and is the last book of a three-book series. Giving Up is a dark high school bully romance intended for mature readers. If you are unsure of your triggers, please heed the author’s trigger warning in the book
Lola King is a dark, steamy romance author who loves giving happy ever after’s to antiheroes. She writes about flawed and deeply broken characters and the women who bring them down to their knees. Her books are sometimes cute, sometimes angsty, but always sexy! Lola lives in London and if she isn’t writing, she is most likely keeping her mind busy putting together a play or making music.

if you ever want to torture me, lock me up in a room with this series and nothing else.
as predicted, the characters did indeed have me on the verge of losing my sanity 😭 fmc is the most diabolical person i’ve had to read about. you’re in love with the mmc, the alleged love of your life and then sleep with his older brother MULTIPLE times when the older brother, mind you is in love with you… make it make sense oml?? she goes after every guy yet again in a way of proving she’s over the mmc but has no backbone and dropped to her knees the moment he entered the picture again?
the mmc isn’t any better either i hate them both so much he spends this book staying away from her to “protect” her because he loves her, right? but then fucks this other girl multiple times (billie from beautiful fiend btw) while getting upset when he’d see the fmc with any other guys. they go from avoiding each other, to fucking each other, to loving each other, and repeat. this man is atrocious, he had his friend in the room while he was doing stuff to the fmc? what’s with all the borderline threesomes in this series :’) first with chris and the two mcs then with lik and them…
please trust me when i say everyone cheats, everyone sleeps with everyone, and no one gives a damn about their relationships 😭 all these characters are horrendous with the exception of luke and maybe emily? i loved luke, he’s an angel fr. 😭 and maybe i’m crazy but while my feelings towards nathan were all over the place throughout the series i actually like him to an extent. i’m definitely looking forward to his book with kayla (praying i don’t regret saying this or liking him 🤞🏽) i usually love the psychos in these books anyway so we’ll see!
i’m finally free from the worst experience of my life
One of my favorite series this year from the gradual build up in book 1, to the fiery passion and character trials of book 2, book 3 blew me away. The twists, the suspense, the grittiness rose and make for a wildly captivating story. Jaime and Jake share a toxic, tumultuous relationship, and Jake intends to stay away from Jaime at all costs while Nathan continues to wield his influence. Written in a dark underworld backdrop -- MMA, deals, and coercion, the cadre of side characters -- Rose, Jake's sister; Sam, Nathan's best friend enforce; Mateo Bianco, mafioso villain; and a host of other integral characters filled this book with intrigue, tension, and even fear. And what of Jaime's brother Aaron. Everyone had a backstory, many flawed and heartbreaking. But it was the unspoken love between Jaime and Jake which melted my e-reader. Their chemistry was electric and, added to Jake's over the top jealous possessiveness, commanding attitude, created some of the most spicy love scenes I've read.
Medium with a hint of slow burn, progressive pace, this was a book to be savored in all its important detail. I was always wondering -- with trepidation and excitement -- what was going to happen next. Amazing book.
Lola does it again!! Such an amazing job with this final book in Jamie’s trilogy. Giving Up is everything I hoped for and so so much more!
I devoured it in one sitting. It’s heartbreaking, intense, twisted, angsty and so freakin hot and kinky! The steamy scenes were on a whole other level!
Jamie’s development in this final book was incredible. Heartbreak and bullying didn’t stop her. She was put through so much in this book but continued to find strength and I was so proud of her! She grew so much through out this trilogy.
And then Jake, damn this guy! He will forever be my favorite bully. His bullying is deliciously dark and when you add his over the top jealousy and possessiveness he has no match. I couldn’t get enough of him! But it was his vulnerability that slayed me. Those closet scenes were my favorite!
Nathan is the character that surprised me the most. Lola knows how much I hated him from the start and was firm to never root for him. But of course Lola made me eat my words and change my mind about him!
This book felt like coming full circle. The writing was simply amazing and flowed so well. I was completely engrossed in the story from first page. The whole plot is developed in so much detail with so many intriguing characters. And there were so many twists and easter eggs I didn’t see coming! The ending had me teary eyed but also with the biggest smile on my face!
This trilogy is my top bully read of the year! These characters are everything and I can’t wait to read more of Stoneview Stories. This is a must read for all lovers of dark high school bully trope!
Five stars is NOT enough for this book. For this entire trilogy. This final installment of Jamie's story is just EVERYTHING!! I'm gonna try to keep this vague, as I dont want to give any spoilers for those who havent read either Giving Up, or the entire trilogy yet. Let me start by saying though... #TeamNathanFOREVER ❤ I have been all for Nate since book one, and haven't wavered for a second since. All of you who switched from Nathan to #TeamJake in book 2, and are now trying to switch back... just don't! As for the rest of the book... just wow. Words almost fail me at how fantastic this book is. It's everything I wanted, and more. Some things that happened I called... but not quite in the same way (thank god!). And some things I just wasnt expecting. I smiled so hard at some parts of this book, I was on the edge of my seat for most of it, I was in shock a time or 2, shed a few tears a few times, and I sobbed my heart out once. Safe to say I got all the feels with this one. Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT!!!!! If you havent read this series yet, then believe me when I say YOU NEED TO!!! Absolutely deserves more than 5⭐s. A million percent recommend this book, and this series, to anyone and everyone who likes YA, highschool bully, bully, mafia, and dark romance. And probably to everyone else too! 🖤🤍🖤
DNF @ 50%: I had such high hopes coming into the last book but it was a real let down. If you want a super weak and needy h who constantly begs the H to be together while he keeps leaving her after sex, you found your book. Nothing happens for 50% of the book except for the h and H sleeping with other people and then each other to prove they're over each other. The only person I agreed with was the h's mom who tells her how disappointed she is in her.
Why can't these books ever have a h with a spine that's not shown by her punching someone from jealousy? Save yourself the read.
This book honestly just makes me want Nate more!! I think I am gonna reread his book after👀👀 this book was dramatic af and I love it! The messy, toxic, and love-hate relationship that jakejamie had going on was delicious and reminded me too much of AidenElsa which I love💕 am I mad that jake slept with billie? Yes but jamie got even by sleeping with nate so it’s a win situation🥳 though I really wished she slept with xi but jake just had to interrupt them smh. I felt the last couple of chapters were a bit rushed and everything happened too fast but overall the pace of the trilogy, plot, and character development is good I especially love how Jamie formed bonds w each of the White siblings. jakejamie didn’t give me as much buzz as nathankay did but they are in my top 3 along with achillesnyx soon
The final instalment in Jamie's story is intense, fast paced, heart breaking and one absolute hell of a ride.
I was incredibly excited to start this book, after the last cliffhanger in book two, I NEEDED to know what was happening with Jamie, Jake and Nathan. So much happens within this book, that you'll be turning the pages quicker than you thought you could. Every chapter I felt like I was holding my breathe because I was so on edge. In this, you get answers to all the questions you've had in the past two books and some of the revelations that come up in this one, I never saw coming.
Also, guys the sex scenes in this - Lola has completely outdone herself. Jamie is finally accepting her darker side and I am totally living for it! Also, you wait til you read her sass in this book. She's grown so much in the past two books that it was such a treat to see her become so strong.
Lola's debut series has been an insane rollercoaster of emotions, her writing is insane and I can't wait to see what she has to give us all next!
“I don't want normal people, I want you. You and all the broken pieces you come with. I'll take all the darkness. I'll take all the obsession and possession. I'll give you all control you need”.
This is the 3rd book in the Stoneview series and should be read in order. It follows on straight from Book 2 with Jaime heartbroken over Jake. This book is fast-paced, angsty, and gritty. Lola has a way of writing that captivates you from the first page, unable to put it down. She chewed me up and spat me back out time and time again in this book, leaving my heart racing. Lola is such a good author, her plot is dark, angsty, and full of tension. Her characters are so well written, and it makes you feel like you're right there in the Stoneview town with them. The whole Jamie/ Jake/ Nathan triangle situation comes to ahead with jaw-dropping consequences. If you love Dark High School Bully Romance, this is for you. I look forward to more of the Stoneview Series and more of the characters. There are some Trigger Warnings.
I get soooo worried when a the final book of a series comes out that I’ve loved, out of fear it just won’t live up to my expectations… I am SOOO happy to say that this definitely wasn’t the case! ❤️
I absolute devoured this book! It tied up so much and kept me hooked the whole way through! Jamie really found her feet in this book and that made me love her so much more! So happy that the Jake v Nathan triangle was resolved but I won’t pop any spoilers as to who won Jamie’s heart!
I’m gutted it’s over but I cannot wait for the rest of the Stoneview Stories!
Lola, bravo! 👏🏻
If you love a bully romance with a well thought out story line and loveable characters, read the series now!
A million stars ain’t enough for this whole series The amount of emotions I went through in this book is unbelievable and insane I was fucking screaming crying throwing up There was so much angst my heart literally broke for Jake and Jamie I felt such raw emotions I cried a lot Also I felt so much anger omg the stupid decisions both of them made! It made my blood boil but can’t complain because I like getting my heart wrecked Sadness for all the characters they literally deserve the world Nathan white would always hold a special place in my heart and after knowing what he went through and why he is the way he is I love him extra Jake oh my broken boy i actually love him so much He’s so toxic, controlling and has so many red flags but I just couldn’t not love him His past was also so sad Jamie my girl I love her with all my heart she was such a badass in this book and stood her ground Rose White I can’t wait to read her book she’s the one who struggled a lot but still very strong I love her
Jake and Jamie were so toxic the first half of the book was them just making stupid decisions and hurting each other I have never felt this much for a fictional characters like them I didn’t want this book to finish at all I still just wanna go back and reread The plot twist before just before the book ends I was baffled well atleast I know about Aaron I loved Jake and Rose’s bond as twins They protect and care for each other so much! Lola king kept me on my toes even before the last chapter I actually thought they won’t end up together in the end chapter Lola king played with my heart really 😭
“No,” I reply as a tear passes my eyelids. I have a reflex of shaking my head at the same time, but his palms gently force me to face him. “No, Jake. I don’t want normal people, I want you. You and all the broken pieces you come with. I’ll take all the darkness. I’ll take all the obsession and possession. I’ll give you all the control you need. I don’t care for other people. We need each other, our broken pieces fit, they fit, Jake, I promise you”
Yep this is how much agony Lola made me go through and I’m not even complaining I just love them so much it actually physically hurts (I need serious help)
“That’s fucking bullshit,” I raise my voice and she tenses under it. But I can’t control it, my beast is roaring from the heart ache. “Happy ending is a stupid expression,” I add. “That’s for stories that end. Our story doesn’t fucking end. Not until I say so.” I pull her close and she hits my chest hard. “And guess what, baby. That’s never,” I seethe.”
I think this what I really like about Jake and Jamie they are so much different they hurt each other but they love each other even harder there’s this different type of bond I AM IN LOVE END OF MY RANT!
P.s Dare I say Lola King is now my ultimate favourite other!
Stoneview stories is a dark bully romance, based in a high school setting following Jamie and Jake. This trilogy covers all their trials and tribulations, their push and pull relationship, and how they finally give in to each other. I had a really good time reading this one, Lola King rights believable and relatable characters and covers some heavier topics such as high school bullying, trauma, and abuse. I love when a book couple find and fight for that person that helps make them a better person. 4⭐️ would recommend

Bully Romance Love Triangle Dominating Bondage Enemies to lovers Eyes on me
Excitement, craziness, passion, strap in for a wild ride! This conclusion gutted me. The will they, won’t they had me on the edge of my seat the entire book! I have been #teamjake from book one and my love for Jake grew more and more each book! I needed this book so badly. Needing to find out what was gonna happen and what did happen. Right up until the end will have you questioning everything you think will happen, along with everything that you want to happen and than you are shocked at everything that does happen. You will not want to put this book down.
This book for me was Jamie’s comeback book! She has had enough and she was tired of being pushed around. Nothing and I mean nothing was keeping her down. She was going to fight and that she certainly did. There was so much back and forth who she was with, what would happen and where life would take her. But the conclusion of this story was perfect. This book had me sobbing at one point. The next I was internally jumping for joy! Then finally I was swooning so hard!
Lola King’s writing is incredible. She grabs your attention from the very first sentence. She is entertaining and her writing flows perfectly. There is so much awesomeness going on in her stories but she is so clear and concise with who is doing what. The steam of this book was kicked up at least six levels! Get ready for an exciting conclusion to Jamie and Jake’s story. It might go the way you want or it might just go another way entirely, you will have to read to find out!
What a roller coaster! The wild ride of Jamie and Jake’s story was worth every twist and turn! Lola truly pulled out all the stops to give us their ending! I was so anxious and torn while reading this final installment of the Giving trilogy!
Jamie had been through so much trauma and grief before she fell into the Whites’ life that I didn’t know how much more she could withstand! But she proved me wrong at every corner. She became the strong, confident young woman who was ready to take control of her own life and stop letting others make decisions for her. Jake was so set on trying to protect her from the life he was thrown into that he was willing to deny their love for one another. But that’s the thing with love, it has a mind of its own and will always find a way to fight! And boy did it fight, tooth and nail their love fought everyone and everything! There were so many scenes in this story that my jaw was literally hanging open in shock and awe! And just when I thought I had it all figured out…BAM, another bomb would drop!
The ups and downs of this book were some of the hardest for me to read. Lola was able to bring out all types of emotion from me and I was truly feeling everything the characters were feeling! Her ability to make me feel empathy for even the most depraved character is mind blowing! What an amazing author! This trilogy has been such a phenomenal read! I can’t wait to see what is next from her!
For me this speaks volumes in this series... "𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐛*𝐭𝐜𝐡? 𝐈 𝐟*𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐭."
WOW. What a 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐝 to a powerhouse series. Lola's debut series as well. Its been on helluva a journey and my heart shattered more than i thought was possible.
----------- The raw emotion within this book is strong, beautiful and heartbreaking. The push and pull tether between Jamie & Jake is 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. The danger that laces this book is mesmerising!
There love is raw and passionate oh and the steam is off the charts. But for me the fierce protectiveness that you feel is everything.
----------- The side characters in this series are a credit where credit is due. From Chris, Luke to Rach and Em they kept the friendshipfriggingoals in this book real and friends will protect at all costs!!
For me the ending left me speechless and it was absolutely everything we needed after this bands journey. I am so glad they got there happy ending albeit i am so damn excited for more from Stoneview.
This book!!! This freaking book!!! I absolutely devoured it. Now I love Lola and her writing and this series is definitely one of my favourites!
I have been dying for the third installment and I have not been left disappointed. I absolutely loved it!
Jamie in this was such a bad ass! Even heartbroken and beaten down she came back swining and fighting!
Jake was the same as always! Mean, nasty and oh so delicious and the ways he dominated in this book were just 🥵
Nathan however 🔥🔥🔥🔥 ahhh we have seen so many sides to him but the things we learnt in this book made my heart beat for him.
Now I have been firm on being on both team Jake and team Nathan but this book I was team Nathan all the way tbh and I won't say more as I don't want to spoil anything.
The tension🤌🏼 The angst 🤌🏼 The spice 🤌🏼
Just amazing! Can't wait for more stories from different characters in this series.
YESSS, JAMIE!!! There were so many times I yelled that while reading because she is not letting Jake control her any longer. This is her time to take back her life.
Jamie's story has been a roller coaster from the beginning and this last installment was no different. I've cried, been heart broken, cheered her on, and been through the ringer with this one.
I love this series, it's amazing. Even though Jamie and Jake's story is over, I cannot wait to read more of Stoneview Stories. So excited for what's to come!!!
Wow. What an intense, toxic, drama filled last book and i devoured it. This had bullying, brothers fighting over the FMC and for her. Deep sibling and family dynamics some with so much love and some so horrible you have to skim the page. All characters flawed and the MMC is not a good guy. A devil to his angel. Unexpected twists had me shocked. There is plenty of spice but also emotional depth. Mafia, OW drama, families broken, violence, bullying, an Fmc finding her voice, suspense and more will have you turning the pages
This is the darkest in the trilogy. Check triggers.
I have cried and cried and cried some more! This series was my first ever from Lola King but I am hooked now. My heart broke so many times during the White’s story and loved both the brothers too deeply. I was worried how the journey was going to end, and if it would satisfy all my questions and hopes. Well, I can say it was brilliantly done and I’ve become a loyal fan of Lola King forever! ❤️❤️❤️
HAYIR. En önemli kısma geliyoruz… Nathan- Jamie- Jake üçlüsü biraz nefret sevgi ilişkisi içinde olduğunda yazar bir de üçlü sahne yazayım demiş! Bunu talep eden Nathan ve kabul eden Jamie 😂 ama işin ortasında kıskançlıktan abisini vuran Jake 😎
Her şeyin sonu kızın kanlar içinde halini gören Jake’in nihayet inadı bırakıp onu korumak için ondan vazgeçmek yerine ona tutunmasıyla tatlıya bağlanıyor. Ah canım ya… Ne kadar aşık bir adam görüyorsunuz dimi?
İşte böyle. Bolca aldatma, aşağılama, gurursuzluk, gevşeklik, GAVATLIK dolu üçüncü bir kitap.
Kitaba puanım 2. Bir puan Nathan’a. Diğer puan da kitabın akıcı olmasına.
This is the lowest I’ve ever rated a Lola King Book & she’s definitely one of my favorite authors. But I’m pretty sure I lost it at the sharing scene with Nate. Anyways my note:
- too much cheating & idc if they weren’t together by book 3 there shouldn’t be so much OW/OM drama - Okay so apparently it’s a love triangle (which if it is why didn’t Nate have any POV? But better so, this book is already ruining Lawless God for me and it’s one of my favs…) & it’s MF so why were there so many sharing? - This needed an editor, the spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, grammar but not only that misspelling your own character names going from Billie Scott to Billie Evans? Emily was called Emile in a scene. - The sharing scene w Nate wtf? - Cringy dialogue like “when did you become such a bad bitch?” “bad girl” - Intended to be empowering, but really Jamie just used her pussy instead of her brain - Rose had more of a plot line than the actual MCs - There’s no way they’re loyal to each other in the future…just no way - too much telling instead of showing & that’s also why I don’t believe Jamie and Jake love each other, because everything we saw was pure toxicity - What even was Jake’s story 3 books and we barely got to see what happened to him, what made him that way only at the end we got a bit of it idk… - Way too much smut scenes and barely any plot, at some point I was annoyed. The last chapters were good and then again kinda ruined by sex and Jake’s choke on my d*ck for asking questions and Jamie’s backless behavior - Nate is the better brother & I’m glad he ended up with Kayla. Jamie (the hypocrite) would’ve never deserved him - who snitched on Jamie & her mom??? - Jake and Rose not finding out what Nate did for them SUCKED - The side characters were more entertaining and i honestly want Luke’s book
the end (tho there's still a novella but yeah) it's the ending of jamie and jake's story and wow what a ride and im so addictive i just couldn't stop reading these books!!! seriously lola king puts something in there and im just a girl and i can't help it i fell in love with jamie and jake and their toxicity and their love and their journey god it was so good not like masterpiece good but definitely addictive good and sexy and sad at times and heartbreaking too but in the end they get their happy ending (in a way) and im SO HAPPY BECAUSE FINALLY they truly deserve it!! jake getting jamie a puppy was so cute then saying he hates dogs ugh wanted more moments like that but i guess there's still a novella about them so idk im scared i just want them happy!! jamie is so strong and im so glad even tho jake was a bully, she found herself and she's happy with herself then jake that man is a psycho but i love him so much i think i love him more than caden and they're so alike it's annoying haha but so funny too he does care deeply for jamie and without releasing he helped her too and tho jamie made herself stronger too, jake helped and i think that's beautiful!! overall, yeah im going to read lola king's books and idk if i will stop to read other stuff because im obsessed and im in so deep it's not funny, i love these characters and i want to read their stories too sooo yeah let's go!! jamie and jake are toxic but at the end of the day they love each other with all they have and they will protect one another until the end and im sorry that's beautiful that's wholesome and i love them so much im so happy i read their story!!
I’m not the least bit surprised I loved this story. It was so good. So so good.
I don’t even know how to put it into words. I got so lost in the story. I wanted to stay in Stoneview forever. I want to hear everyone’s story. I could spend all day everyday for weeks reading about Stoneview.
Jamie sucks. Jake sucks. Nathan sucks. Sam sucks. Chris sucks. Mateo sucks. There is literally not 1 character that I like in this book. Rose is alright. Did I still absolutely inhale all 500 pages of this book? Yes. Would I recommend this book to people? Not sure, because I would need to ask a lot of probing questions about their triggers. That being said, I read this book like the guilty pleasure that it is and I will be reading all books this author puts out in this universe.
I absolutely cannot stand Jamie. The only reason that she was somewhat tolerable was that the author is upfront about her characters not being redeemable. Jamie is not redeemable for me. She is whiny, a complete pushover, justifies breaking laws while judging people for doing what she does. She has ZERO survival instincts. She is the person who runs to the murderer in a scary movie. If you gave her a choice between sitting on a beach while relaxing or to go into a burning building, she would choose the building. Not to save an old grandma or kitten, but because she would convince herself that she somehow loves that building and will just go sit in it while it all collapses around her.
Don't get me started about Jake. He is the least believable character in this entire series. You know why? Because he can give women multiple orgasms at age 16. Absolute horseshit. Of all the insane things that this series has put me through, that is the hard line of unbelievability for me. Absolutely no effing way. 10000000% no.
Nathan I understand because he is just trying to make lemons out of lemonade but he fails to see that all of his lemons have been tainted with arsenic and cyanide. He is delusional, even on his best days.
I loved this book until the end where it both heavily implied and actually spelled out that Jamie is submissive because she is a small Asian woman. It is also spelled out that the men in her life like dominating her because of her Asian-ness. This was such a huge turn off/red flag for me. I ended up looking up the author (who does not appear to have any Asian heritage) and this just really left a bad taste in my mouth. Supporting stereotypes just isn't it.
Overall this series was a wild ride and I will read the rest of the books in the Stoneview series but this left me with a lot of conflicting feelings.
JEEEEEEEZ, Just give me heart palpitations why don't you Lola!
Ok let me calm my heart rate before we get into this.
Nobody, and I mean nobody can write a dark romance quite like Lola King. Fricken hell this is out of this world phenomenal! If y'all thought book 1 and book 2 had you on the edge of your seat then you need to get ready for the last installment of Jamie's story in the Stoneview world, because it is an EXPLOSIVE one.
From book one I was always team Nathan, in every sense of the word he is my favourite character and literally nothing could change that for me. However, I know 99.9% of you are team jake, but all I'm gonna say here so I don't risk a spoiler is I think some things are going to have your hearts beating faster for some who you don't expect it for 👀 but I'll always be over here, repping team Nate forever 🥰
All of those characters that Lola made us feel a certain way about just intensified so damn much, it felt like each of their personalities just exploded right before my eyes. Jake is still one of the darkest, cruelest and dirtiest anti-heroes I've ever come across, Rose is still so complex, beautiful but cold, Jamie is really out here being the baddest biatch in the game, she is one strong AF heroine and we stan a strong woman 💪🏻
That intricate plot that we've seen develop now through the series all comes together superbly, and damn those story lines are so intelligent and cross over so smoothly. Also, there are definitely shocks, twists and turns all the time, some of which made me do a double take, reread the pages, and generally tugged on my heart strings!
For now, I'm so sad that Jamie's story is over, but wow, this whole series has surpassed everything I imagined. It's been vivid, intense, gritty, spicy and smutty, emotional and beautiful, it's dark bully romance executed to PERFECTION. Lola, take the crown babe because nothing is going to top the stoneview world and these characters you've made us fall in love with. You are outstanding! 🙏🏻
