Preeti doesn’t date. She is from a conservative family and she doesn’t need all that drama in her life. But she had borrowed Arjun’s umbrella the previous evening and now he is asking her to return it to him in a coffee shop. Does that count as a date? Will Preeti go to the coffee shop? Well… Why not?
Arjun’s family is pushing him to get married. But after his broken engagement from a year ago, he hasn’t dated anyone. Should he propose marriage to his colleague, Preeti? The Preeti who doesn’t date. Well… they are from the same community and their parents are likely to be okay with it. So… Why not!

A feel-good romance story about an 'arranged love'
My rating: 4.1/5 Preeti belongs to a conservative family and will get married to a boy chosen by her family. Hence she doesn't date, despite being asked out by many suitors, multiple times. Arjun works in the same building where Preeti's office is located. They know each other by name but have never spoken to each other. A rainy day leads to an encounter that might change their lives. Will it lead to their happily ever after though?
What I liked about the book: -> It is a short, sweet read that leaves a smile on our faces. -> It's unlike most romance books with a clichéd story. In fact, it's more of a practical as well as relatable read for an Indian audience. -> The characters are not straightforward or the typical romance hero/heroine models. -> The conversations between Preeti and Arjun during their initial meetings are so heartwarming and seem really authentic.
What I did not like about the book: -> Preeti's behavior and actions sometimes leave the reader frustrated.
This is the second book i am reading by the author Venuka Goyal, and i like it a lot 🥰 i liked her first book too 🥰 This story was refreshing charming sweet and a light read and i enjoyed it. I am looking forward to reading the third book by the author. I hope it becomes available on KU soon 😃
QoTD: Do you believe in love or arranged marriage? Why? Aotd : Let's see what is waiting for me The writing is crisp and exciting - at times, it makes you want to turn the pages swiftly to see how the couple get over the latest roadblocks in their relationship and at others, makes you want to slow down to slowly savour all the emotion behind the poignant language. The e book is truely a delight. The author explores the two characters in a way which feels mild and yet, the reader is left with no doubt that there is tons left unsaid. The characters are no longer easy or caricatures of the normal romance hero/heroine model. We locate depth, angst and some very darkish underlying issues in this story, and none are overdramatised! The author truely has the ability to detect the mature in romance! . Since this was once a private advice via a colleague I knew it wouldn’t be bad. I am pleasantly amazed via how exact it was, and I advocate it to different readers. I appear ahead to extra from Venuka Goyal… definitely!! . Description of every single character was is very detailed so it becomes convenient to draw a picture in mind(although I drew it in heart).
Why not? written by Venuka Goyal is a romantic short story of a young couple who are trying to figure out their marriage. A short, sweet read that leaves a smile on our faces after reading it.

This was a quick read. It was not because there were few pages but it was written in such a way that you really want to know the story of Preeti and Arjun. When a marriage proposal comes to her, she's like, let's give it a try. The author clearly shows all the confusion a man and a woman feel in an arranged marriage. A short read that you can complete in a single sitting. It's not like the other books with a cliché story. It's more of a practical arranged/love marriage where you try to understand each other's feelings. Suggested to anyone who would love to read a feel-good story. "Why not" give it a try?
A fast paced story with an interesting plot of a young couple finding love in a "self arranged" marriage. The author has managed to engross us with preeti and arjuns characters as they both learn about each other and grapple with things said and left unsaid! So much packed in a short story- loved it! Do pick this up!
