I consider myself blessed I'm able to do this for a living. I live for fantasy books as a reader and author. I adore books like An Ember in the Ashes, The Night Angel Trilogy, Harry Potter, The Great Library series...I could go on.
Before I write I have four young humans I keep alive and love them to the stars and back again. I live in Utah with my sexy husband, the kiddos, two paranoid dogs, and a sinister cat. Between finishing a second degree, running a business, and eating too much chocolate, I love writing early in the morning when no one is awake. If you can't tell, I basically function on caffeine.
It turns out Prince Ced doesn't want to mate with Queen Jade. Truth be told he doesn't want to go up against Teagan. Plus the whole mating thing was a ploy to get Jade to the palace to help Amber & himself get out of there. Prince Ced wants nothing to do with war. He wants to unite the dragons and the lindworms. When they escape the palace they let out the prisoners (lindworms) & his fathers harem of mates. Amber insists they go after her stone so she has more power to fight Bron with. In the fight to leave King Nag's Palace they killed 4 of Prince Ced's brother's. That only leaves two at the palace that side with King Nag. Prince Ced can never return home but he's okay with that. Prince Ced is a lindworm by the way. When a big group of the dragons & mages (including Thane, Gaia, Teagan, Dash, Raffi, & Mitch) go to get the amber stone being led by Amber's mage. Of course, Prince Ced & Teagan get into a fight. Soon the lindworms start fighting the dragons. All this happens while Jade is off washing her hair in the stream. Until Prince Ced screams for her she is oblivious. Which I find hard to believe! Swords make noise. Grunts & screams from injuries are loud. Plus I would think a dragon breathing fire makes some kind of noise. Anyway she is pissed when no one listens to her to let Prince Ced go & step fighting. The warriors decide Ced & the lindworms will be prisoners. Ced concedes & they go in a cell. Not everyone is happy they are there. One person in particular questions Jade's decision to ally with the lindworms & Prince Ced. This person keeps becoming a problem. If it were me after his second offense I would have banished him from the cave or executed him. Because Jade is to soft and because of that a lot of people die. I love how Gaia & Thane show so much public affection with each other. And the fact that it doesn't bother Teagan at all. At least he knows they love each other. I especially, love how they kinda adopt Mitch & Jade. Unfortunately, there are a few deaths in this one when they go up against Bron. And an injury that leaves quite a big cliffhanger!
Lucky me. I just finished a glorious binge read on the most recent additions to Dragon Mage, LJ Andrews’ really wonderful dragon shifter fantasy series. The Prince of Night (Book 4) and The Mage of Kings: A Dragon Shifter Fantasy (Book 5) we’re just what is needed for this kind of a series, books which have well written plots in themselves while also doing a great job advancing the overall series story arc. Fans of this series will be very happy. The dragon mage might not have ever supposed to exist but Teagan is here, his tie to Jade is here, and woe to any who stand in the way, be they Prince of Night or anyone else. The final battle is nigh - and by book 5 the series will end in epic fashion. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
“I was overcome with a sense of duty. Nodding, I spoke softly. “When we succeed, there will be a sixth bloodline. The night bloodline, Ced. You will always be the Prince of Night.” The small smile spread across his lips again, and he bowed his head slightly. “Now, let’s go to these prisons.”
What a story. All the characters we loved are back with a few new ones added to the mix. The characters are so well written you are there with them : watching, cheering, even felt like getting into the Frey myself! And have tissues nearby...
I have been honored to read and review this series. It’s a one-day read for adventure lovers. Highly Recommended 5/5
[disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily reviewed it]
Now that their family is united and Jade has been taken it’s time for this Mage to go get his woman. He has no idea if she’s safe or has been forced to mate but he has to do something. Jade is making alliances and preparing for not only escape but for the war that is coming with Bron. New allegiances will be tested, suspicion and mistrust overcome, and traitors will be revealed. This author twists things us so well you have no idea who to trust. The action and chaos reigns supreme and you will be swept into the thrill of it all. Emotions are high and it will take everything they have to come out victors with minimal casualties. An emotional yet thrilling read.
This is another great KU library selection and addition to the Dragon Mage series. Much has happened since Teagan arrived at the Wyvern Reform Home in Wyvern Willows. He has learned he isn't an orphan, that he's a Dragon Mage, that dragons are real, and that his girlfriend is a dragon queen. The story is entertaining and the main characters are well developed. I'm looking forward to the next book, another KU library selection.
The Prince of Night A Dragon Shifter Fantasy (Dragon Mage Book 3)
This is the 4th book in this series and as they prepare for battle against the darkness they also need to do a few battles of their own. I enjoyed reading this book and the others and now can't wait to see what the next book in this series has ready for us as we start to close up the story of the great characters
I love this series. Fast paced with lost of action, suspense, magic and dragons! It is one of those stories that you want to read fast to see what happens next but at the same time you want to slow down and enjoy every word. I became invested in the characters early on and really enjoy the world the author created for this series
Oh you made my cry!!!! Such feelings and emotions, i know ots just a book but it was so well written- it has to be to pull that emotion from me, ive been engrossed in this series since book one and cannot wait to read the final installment!!
This is such a good story! The plot is very well written and the story itself is really entertaining. Ms. Andrews has an incredible imagination. You won’t be sorry to buy this book.
Ced is my new favourite character in the series. The way he manages to get the attention of everyone is so satisfying and so funny at times. I felt Jade waited to get rescued too much but then Ced played it out for me enough to enjoy the whole book
Excellently written! Bravo Ms Andrews! A wonderful read. Lots of harrowing and tense moments and close calls in this book left me holding my breath without realizing it until those moments were over. A certain amount of success became a reality for the good guys although many losses were deeply felt. Many battles were fought and those battles were very clearly described. I knew exactly what was going on and didn’t have to second guess. I loved the relationships of several of the couples and felt the anguish when one or the other suffered injuries. However, I felt the love as they each supported one another during battles or in great times of struggle. And the traitor got everything he deserved! I cannot recommend this series any more highly than to say you are truly missing out if you don’t read this series. It’s up there as one of the greatest reads ever.
What a story. All the characters we loved are back with a few new royals and mages added to the mix. The characters are described in such a realistic manner that you become so invested in this story. The world building is awesome as well. I read this book in one day I could not put it down. I cheered, I fought, I was blown away by the fighting, I even cried at the saddest part. If you would like to discover a new series, grab yourself a copy, curl up with your favourite beverage in your favourite reading spot and enjoy. Highly recommend.
