A Paranormal Women’s Fiction novel (PWF) that’ll light your fire!
All Rose wants is peace, quiet, and some quality time with her lovable foster dog, Braveheart. Unfortunately, a devious elder fire witch has decided it’s time to begin Rose’s training in fire magic—and she won’t take no for an answer.
But even fire spells are no match for family Rose’s sister is in the middle of a divorce, and it’s up to Rose to stop the soon-to-be-ex-husband’s plan to keep the house for himself.
With the help of the Ride-or-Die Witches, a friendly fire-setting cat, and a handsome British chauffeur, Rose must fight for her sister’s home... while uncovering a mysterious new threat to the witches of Sparkle Beach.
They say you can’t fight fire with fire, but she’s got magic to burn.
Silver Charms opens shortly after the conclusion of the first Midlife Elementals tale. To my surprise, and ultimately my delight, the story is shared with listeners via a different character than that of the first book. This time we hear from the POV of Rose, not Luella. While I thought it would be jarring to switch gears, it actually works well and enhances the overall storyline for the series. And due to the nature of the overall story, these books should be read in order, starting with Silver Spells.
Rose is a newly minted fire witch, and unlike her two best friends, doesn’t have a mentor, until Hilda Milafleur, the antagonist from book one, offers to help. I like that even though Mrs. Milafleur is invested in Rose’s progress and the success of the Sparkle Beach witches, she’s not a reformed soul. She continues to keep dangerous secrets and does not regret her previous actions. Because of the connection of fire magic between Rose and Mrs. Milafleur, we learn more about her past and reasons for her actions.
Like the first book, the story has a subtle romantic subplot. Rose connects with Mrs. Milafleur’s chauffeur, Oliver, who has secrets of his own. I enjoyed watching them dance around one another and learn to open up. Their burgeoning romance adds to the story, but never overtakes the primary plot, which sees our Ride-or-Die witches facing an unknown threat.
Rose’s sister is in the midst of a bitter divorce, and Rose thinks she may be able to help out using her magic. Additionally, a magical circus comes to town, bringing with it more elemental witches. Finally, someone is trying to steal the witches’ powers, putting the Sparkle Beach witches right in the middle. I enjoyed figuring out what was going on, and how Rose outwits the bad guy. What I don’t like is one of the actions she took in the process - it was really dumb, and as soon as it happened, I groaned out loud. I guess we’ll see in the third book if there are consequences to her actions.
Narration: Shared via Rose’s first person POV, the narrator of the book is Rose. Ms. Sands performs using her distinct voice, which I love. She’s got a deep feminine voice that is somewhat soft and slightly raspy. Ms. Sands changes her tone for the characters’ dialogue, deepening for males, adding slight accents when called for, creating a unique set of voices for the cast. My only minor issue is that Oliver is supposed to have a British accent, and while Ms. Sands gives him a unique, slightly accented voice, it doesn’t sound British to me.
In the end, I continue to enjoy the Midlife Elementals series and look forward to listening to the next exciting tale as soon as it’s out!

Another Magical Delight! Fantastic Story & Listen🎧
Silver Charms A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel (Midlife Elementals, Book 2) By: Kate Moseman Narrated by: Xe Sands
Kate Moseman pens another fabulous novel set in her “Midlife Elemental” series. I highly recommend starting with “Silver Spells” the first book in the series, not only it is an enjoyable delight of a story but it lays down the foundation for the rest of the series, plus it is beneficial to know the backstory of these wonderfully magical characters and how they come about and into their own. Each book in this series features one of the three friends, in the first book we met all three, Luella, Rose and Pepper, the first book featured Luella Campbell, this book is featuring Rose Conleth. Mrs. Millefleur, the one who started trouble in the first book, visits Rose with a proposition to teach her how to work her magic. Rose does not trust her much but takes her up on her offer, she also has her eye on Oliver, her handsome chauffeur. Rose’s sister, Isabella, is having problems with her husband and Rose wants to help with that and with the help of her two witchy friends they come up with a plan. You can not help but love these three, the camaraderie amongst the friends is absolutely amazing, it is something everyone wants and should have, friends to depend on are the best. A lot goes on in this book, something is not right in Sparkle Beach and they need to get to get to the bottom of it and find out who is behind it. Oliver turns out to be an asset and way more than a Chauffeur. More familiars are introduced in this book as well as a fabulous foster dog. This is an enjoyable and entertaining story, it is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, witty dialogue and humor, twists and turns, heartfelt emotions and a touch of romance. Kate Moseman, thank you for another wonderfully delightful story, loved the originality and how imaginative the storylines are.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Xe Sands continues to bring these characters and their story to life. She has a complete understanding of the characters she portrays, giving each a voice that fits that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound. You could hear how much heart she put into her work as she captures the characters’ emotions and projects them into her performance. She sets the perfect tone for the story, handles the witty dialogue with ease and lands the humor flawlessly. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.
Kate Moseman is THE best author you aren't reading. Change this now. Get to all of her books but to get you started get your eyes on "Silver Spells". Ok you read it? Good...not get your hands on this one, "Silver Charms". And hang on because as much fun as "Silver Spells" is "Silver CHarms" is a RIDE!!!! Rose has found herself a little peace and quiet with her dog. Her witchy boss Hilda still has some issues, but don't worry we will work through those. In the meantime, Hilda's butler, chauffer, minute man, named Oliver has inserted himself into Rose's life. And he has a secret....ssh. DOn't worry you will love it. Knock-knock....Who's at the door...Rose's sister, with two daughters at her side. She has been run out of her own house by her soon-to-be ex-husband. So wait? He gets the big house while four females share a cottage? Oh, heck no!!!! It is time for Rose to use those powers she has been fine-tuning. That's the easy peasy part of the story. Add some very supportive friends, a cat...of course with witches, you knew a cat was showing up sometime soon....and keep an eye out for Rose's black jacket throughout the storytelling. I would give more than five stars if I could!!!!! Overall there was A LOT more going on than in the first one, and I don't know if its because I read it in the middle of the night on the kindle BUT I got weird Disney vibes during the circus parts like Fantasia or something, and I totally see Hilda as looking like Lady Tramaine(Cinderella's stepmom.) Overall just fantastic, trippy, revenge fuel storytelling, maniacal. AND I'm SO Excited that Pepper will be the focus of the next novel in this glorious town of Sparkle Beach.
"Silver Charms" is the second book in the "Midlife Elements" series by Kate Moseman. I enjoy reading this series and love seeing where Rose is with her magical abilities. Rose is still learning about her powers and is having a hard time not telling her sister, Izzy, about them. Izzy shows up at Rose's house with her two daughters and tells Rose that her soon to be ex-husband, Damon, is trying to get the house. So Rose has an idea of how to get him out of the house, and it is hilarious. This is one of those series where you can't wait to read the next book to see what happens next, and I enjoy reading about Rose and her friends.
The Ride or Die Witches of Sparkle Beach are back! This time it’s fire witch Rose’s story. As Rose tries to harness her fire magic, her sister is struggling through a difficult divorce, and something is amiss on the magical side of the town of Sparkle Beach. Not to mention the hot, British chauffeur that Rose’s sort-of mentor has schlepping her around town. Rose is such a great character. She’s fiercely independent, stubborn, and extremely loyal and giving to those she loves. This was a very enjoyable book about how she comes into her magic, and truly makes it her own.
A light book, with a fun, flirty romance thrown into the mix, this is a very enjoyable book. There are some funny magical shenanigans, some new familiars - including Rose’s awesome fire cat, and some truly heartfelt, sweet moments between friends and family. There is even a bit of a mystery/conflict that the witches need to handle, in a way only they can. We also meet some new witches, and get some additional insights into this magical world. Looking forward to the next book of the series, which I’m guessing will be Pepper’s story - can’t wait to see what she gets for a familiar!
I liked the first book but this one was even better. It seemed to me that Ms. Mossman has hit her stride. The lead character, Rose, is very well written as are the other characters who appear. Mrs. Millefleur(?) is very slowly showing her own personality and allowing the reader a small glimpse into her reasons for what she did in book 1 and for what she is doing now.
Not only the characters are more fleshed out but the plot is much better in this book too. It's more in depth and involves more characters. I LOVE the banter between the elder witches (Queenie, Hilda, and Louella's mom (can't remember her name). ). I hope the author will write a series about the older generation's hijinks. I would definitely buy the entire series!
The magic is also taken slow and the characters don't automatically know the right thing to do or how to do it.
I would say this book was written in just the right tempo. Things weren't told too fast nor did the reader have to read forever to get to the gist of the book.
This book was a little scattered in the beginning. It felt like the author had not planned her sequences well. However, once I got into the story it smoothed out. I will try the next book in the series to see if I will continue.
Amazon synopsis: all Rose wants is peace, quiet, and some quality time with her lovable foster dog, Braveheart. Unfortunately, a devious elder fire witch has decided it’s time to begin Rose’s training in fire magic—and she won’t take no for an answer.

They say you can’t fight fire with fire, but she’s got magic to burn.
This one picks up where the first one left off, but this time, It one is about Rose, and we watch as she develops her powers!
But, as she’s trying to do this, another witch has it out for her!
Additionally, her sister is getting a divorce, and her husband is bringing an ass.
What’s a girl to do? She just wants some quiet time with her dog, but no! Instead, she’s on a wild goose chase…trying to get to the bottom of the crazy things that are going on around her…all while trying to be there for her sister!
And, the Ride Or Die Witches must come together again!
Sweet 2nd book to the series!

Rose just wants some peace and quiet while hanging out with her dog Braveheart. Rose has an affinity for animals and does some animal training. Rose’s peace is interrupted when Hilda, the other fire witch, shows up to start training her. Then her sister stops by with her two daughters. So much for her peace and quiet. Her sister is going through a tough divorce and is struggling with her ex. Between her sister’s issues and Hilda’s sudden appearance to train her Rose will need all her patience and quick wits to make it through. I am enjoying this series and am heading to the next story!
What a great installment for the second book in this series! Laughter, love and friendship are what make this story so good! The author kept up the same drive, crazy characters and atmosphere as the first book. I enjoyed all funny moments between the friends making me smile while listening. The introduction of new characters was superbly done and some had perfect comedic timing.
I did listen to this on audio. Xe Sands does a superb job portraying all the different characters that either pop in or live in this story. I eagerly look forward to the next in the series
Ohh what a cute and magical world to get lost in. Rose finds herself in the middle of helping her sister out. While Rose is still trying to figure out her own magic in the midst of someone’s disappearance.
This was a light, flirty, mysterious, and magical read. I enjoyed the mystery elements in the book and glad the Coven was able to come to Rose’s aid. The narrator, Xe Sands did a wonderful performance with the variety of voices and inflections she used.
Narrator: Xe Sands does a wonderful job narrating this story making it come to life. I love all the characters: Rose, Braveheart, Rose's foster dog, and the Ride-or-Die Witches.
Rose wants is peace, quiet, and some quality time with her log, Braveheart (I would like the same thing for myself. The devious elder fire witch has decided it’s time to begin Rose’s training in fire magic—and she won’t take no for an answer.
Rose, Luella and Pepper are such good friends. Good book with interesting characters and a good storyline. This is Rose's book so Mama and Luella didn't have as big of a role;missed them. Very good book.
These witches have an amazing friendship and growing witchy powers. I can't wait to see what happens when the last familiar is introduced. Such a fun read with quirky characters and animals. What more could you ask for?
Silver Charms by Kate Moseman is the second book in this series. I really enjoyed the first book and was not disappointed in this second one. Great audio narration and looking forward to the next one!! Ride or die witches!!!
Very good story, fast paced with some surprises. Looking forward to the next installment of Luella, Pepper and Rose. Really like the relationships between the characters and that Mama, Queenie and Hilda are still in the story line.
Ms. Moseman has written an entertaining cast of characters in this new PWF series. This is Rose's story and she certainly does have her hands full as she begins to learn how to use her new powers. Friendship, magic and a touch of romance.
Love the characters. Characters were pretty well developed in book 1, with the focus on witch Luella. This book focuses on Rose, and has a much better developed storyline. I liked the story. As the author recommends, I am going to jump to book 4, which is a novella best read after book 2.
This book follows Rose and boy do I like her. She finds her familiar and really starts understanding her powers. I really don't like how Hilda "teaches" or rather doesn't teach her all mysteries and half truths. Oliver is interesting -though his loyalties i fear are with Hilda...
This is a awesome book. The characters have many sides to them and you feel like you are there watching in person for all of the action. It makes you want to have a little bit of magic in your life too. Enjoy!
Another charming addition to the trilogy. Rose had fire at her fingertips and the excitement of new magic in her heart. However, there’s something dark on the horizon as a threat comes to her and the other witches of Sparkle Beach.
This was a busy story with Mysteries to solve, and heros to step up and do things they thought they were not capable of. Narrator does a good job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.
I listened to the audiobook. This was a great continuation of the first book in this series! Loved it! Great friends who would do anything for each other, magic and love. Everything that makes a great story. Great choice of narrator!
I have enjoyed all of her books so far. This one is no different. I like the way it jumps to different characters. It took me a minute to catch on I must admit lol. I enjoyed how this story tells her story and journey. I can't wait to read the next book
Rose has fire magic. There is a dilemma that develops where Rose’s skills help to solve the problems. Along the way she finds love or a new man to date. I like the narrator, Xe Sands. I enjoyed the story.
Ahhh quick super natural read with a circus in the story! Loved how the author wove the correct circus terms and vivid circus descriptions with her main characters story line mystery.
