When Chicago’s Hottest Snack Cake Heir… Josh Kincaid went from rags to riches when he was adopted by the family who owns the Sweet Dreams Snack Cakes empire. But now the company is floundering, and Josh will do anything to save his parents the way they saved him. Including using his charm on a small-town wedding cake baker.
Takes on the Misfit Princess of the Bridal Capital of the Midwest… Kimmie is flighty, she spouts off weird dreams when she’s nervous, and her frizzy hair and fashion sense make her the girl least likely to snare a debonair snack cake heir. But Kimmie can bake a cake that’ll make a grown man cry, and that’s exactly what Josh needs.
They Just Might Find The Recipe for Love Josh’s plan should be easy, except Kimmie isn’t all cupcake underneath. Her cooperation comes with a price. If Josh wants to save his family’s company, he’ll have to do something he’s never done: be himself.
Jamie Farrell writes humorous contemporary romance. She believes love and laughter are two of the most powerful forces in the universe.
A native Midwesterner, Jamie has lived in the South the majority of her adult life. When she's not writing, she and her military hero husband are busy raising three hilariously unpredictable children.
Sugared is book three in The Misfit Brides of Bliss series by Jamie Farrell. This book was generously provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.
I am such a huge fan of Jamie Farrell’s books. They are filled with humor, romance, some sexy times, and characters that will find a place in your heart and hold on tight. There is something about this book that went beyond every one of her books thus far. I swooned, I laughed, I got angry, and my heart pounded for these two characters. I could not put the book down.
I met Kimmie Elias in the previous books in the series and already loved this quirky, wonderful woman. But in this book, I fell for her even more. Kimmie is the daughter of the owner of Bliss’s wedding bakery, Heaven’s Bakery. Kimmie, though, has a gift for making cakes (and cupcakes) that will change your life. Her mother, Marilyn, aka Queen General, aka General Mom, owns half of the bakery. She runs it like a military base. Everyone fears her, including Kimmie.
In the previous books in the series we heard of the new silent partner of Heaven’s Bakery. The man that owned the other fifty percent. We finally get to meet him. His name is Josh Kincaid. When Josh was very young, his mother died and Josh was put into the system. When things went bad in his foster homes, he took to the streets. At age eleven he was found by the Kincaids who adopted him and gave him a wonderful home. The Kincaids own the snack cake empire, Sweet Dreams. But after all these years, their company is in trouble. The Kincaids saved Josh’s life and he will do whatever it takes to help get the company back on it’s feet. And that includes wooing some very tasty cupcake recipes out of a very popular baker in Bliss. One whose mother will do anything to get back the other fifty percent of her bakery.
“Her life had turned into one of those messes like when the mixer got turned on too fast with no shield and cake batter splattered all over and nobody had time to clean it up, and by the time they did, it would be crusted on the walls and even harder to scrub off.”
What happens when you put together a very quirky baker and a one of the hottest eligible bachelors of Chicago? Chaos is what you get. Josh and Kimmie enter into a fake relationship, Josh needing the cupcake recipes and Kimmie’s mom wanting her to woo Josh out of the other half of their bakery. But the more time these two spend together, the more they start to see the real person under all the frosting. Where Josh started out just needing the recipes for his family’s company, it became so much more. He wanted to protect Kimmie from her mother. He wanted Kimmie to be able to grow and flourish without the shadow of General Mom. But there are also deep insecurities on both parts. Feeling that they are not good enough, that they are unlovable.
“There was something sexy about a woman in her element, doing what she was born to do. Kimmie was born to bake cakes. To share sweet delicacies with the world. To spread joy and happiness and life with the world.”
I just want to say that this book grabbed my heart and never let go all the way through. Kimmie and her crazy dreams, her crazy clothes, her crazy cats, and a heart as big as all of Illinois. And who wouldn’t love Josh. The man who worried if he finally gave someone his heart, that they would leave him in one way or another. That didn’t feel like he was good enough for her. But he was bound and determined to stay in the fake relationship until he made things better for Kimmie. But does his heart really stand a chance against the wonders of Kimmie?
You don’t want to miss this book! But it will mean so much more if you start at the beginning of the series with Blissed (formerly knows as The Husband Games) and meet the rest of the gang in Bliss, the wedding capital of the country. I think you will fall in love with them just as I have. And you’ll be ready just in time for the release of Sugared. So settle in, grab a cupcake or two, and get ready to meet the Misfit Brides of Bliss.
I received a copy of this book in return for leaving an honest review. I don't even know where to begin. I'm still having a book hangover problem after reading this a couple days ago. I have been desperately waiting for Sugared, I take that back, I have been desperately waiting for Kimmie. I have said since I first read about Kimmie in Blissed that one, she needs her own book and that two, Kimmie is my Spirit Animal. And now it's finally here. Kimmie is in the spotlight and I am a bit of a mess. So first things first. This book deserves way more than 5 stars. It is that good. I laughed, my God did I laugh, I went through a box or two of tissues, I yelled and screamed. It was like someone put my feels in a blender and turned it on without a lid. Any good book has the main characters going through some major obstacles and learning and changing. I know this and I honestly enjoy it. Charater development is a big yes for me. And Jamie did a fantastic job with Kimmie and Josh. Though I would be lying if I didn't say that there were moments where I wanted to track Jamie down and give her a good talking to for the things that Kimmie went through. It felt, personal. And that my friends is Magic. That is what books are all about. It's reading about charaters that you can relate to, where you can find some of your struggles in their struggles. You read about them coming out on the other side a better person. And it gives you hope. Like I said, Magic. I can't bring myself to give away any spoilers. So I will just say this, even if you haven't read any of the other books in the Bliss series you Have to read Sugared. And then you should read the others because they are just as fanfreakingtastic as this book. And to Jamie, thank you. Thank you for making a charaters who is awkward with a capital A. Who some might see as weak and/or flawed. But in reality is a super strong woman. A woman that when push comes to shove rises up to the occasion and freaking owns it. Oh and just FYI for all you nerds out there if you like the idea of the killer bunnies game there is a real game called exploding kittens that is awesome to play.
Sugared is the fourth installment in Jamie Farrell’s pure- lighthearted- fun Misfit Brides series set in the fictional small town of Bliss, Illinois. Bliss is the reigning bridal capital of the Midwest located near Chicago. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every book in this series, but Sugared, without a doubt, ranks as my bestie so far. It is Kimmie Elias’ and Josh Kincaid’s story and is a hysterical laugh-a-minute. Truthfully, I’ve been excited for Kimmie’s story ever since she was first introduced in the initial book and, happily, Sugared did not disappoint in any way!
I listened to Sugared. Karen White nailed the narration - even of the cats! Her pacing was perfect. Her voices sounded genuine exuding the appropriate emotions. She differentiated consistently between the characters so I never had an issue knowing who was speaking. Honestly, it could not have been performed any better! I love to read, but if I see that Karen has narrated a book, I will pick up the audio every single time because Karen’s performances consistently enhance the stories she voices.
In Sugared, Kimmie and Josh enter into a fake relationship each with their own desired outcome. Kimmie is following her mother’s order to woo Josh out of the other half of Heaven’s bakery; Josh needs Kimmie’s cupcake recipes to save his family’s business. Seriously, what could go wrong? Readers can expect utterly enchanting topsy-turvy entertainment!
Kimmie is sweet, funny, loveable and quirky as can be. I love her crazy dreams and imaginative tales. In Sugared, I actually came to love Kimmie even more! However, it’s going to take someone truly special to see the real Kimmie for the awesome person she is and to be strong enough to stand up for her. Kimmie has been emotionally abused and used all her life by her mother, Marilyn Elias, aka the “Queen General”. To please her mother and not anger her, Kimmie has perpetually followed her mother’s orders… until now. I was thrilled beyond measure to see Kimmie’s confidence grow in Sugared.
Josh is a great character as well. Josh is hands-down the hottest eligible rich bachelor in Chicago with a playboy reputation to match. He’s also the half-owner of Heaven’s Bakery much to Marilyn Elias’ dismay. He is relationship-averse and love-shy because he still holds on to the hurt from his childhood when he lost his mother and foster mother. His adoptive parents, the Kincaids saved him from the streets. He will do anything to save their business.
Previous favorite characters in the series figure solidly in Sugared. I can’t get enough of catching up with them! Supporting characters were awesome too! I have to give a two-thumbs’- up mention to Josh’s mother. Marilyn had never been a loving mother to Kimmie. Josh’s mother took Kimmie under her maternal wing from the get-go, accepting Kimmie and treating her like her own child.
Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from Sugared. Just know that it was a very difficult decision as, seriously, the whole book qualified:
“If my mom sees you here, she’ll ---“ “Paper the walls with my innards while the innocents watch?” --- “Is he nice?” one whispered over her gum paste roses for this weekend’s wedding cakes. “Um, obviously,” Kimmie said. “You’re why he’s always coming around? I know he’s hot stuff in Chicago, but he always seems so stiff when he comes here,” another added from the sink. “Honey, you want them stiff,” a third said… --- Josh squeezed her arm. “I’ll behave,” he murmured. “For now.” She’s going to pickle your cucumbers.” “He has more than one?” Natalie whispered. “That’s between me and Kimmie,” Josh replied. --- Her eyes slid closed, her secret places pulsed in anticipation, and his lips settled onto the skin beneath her ear. That was magic. She held perfectly still. He pressed a kiss to her neck. Then another, lower. A third, even lower. She squirmed. He dropped his hands. “Sorry. I---“ “Don’t stop,” Kimmie whispered.
I was completely intrigued by the game these two played with exploding bunnies and blown Trojans. It was side-splitting mayhem and Kimmie was the undisputed champion! Here’s a short snippet about it: “Have you ever played Killer Bunnies?” she asked. “Killer Bunnies?” he repeated, blinking the way people always did when they didn’t follow her brain’s train. “It’s a card game. Not spades and clubs, kings and jacks cards. It’s like a board game, with cards instead of a board. Here. I’ll show you.” She stretched up to the top shelf beside her TV and pulled down a bright blue box. “But I have to warn you, I never hesitate to use the nuclear warheads or the anti-matter raisins. Your bunnies are going down.”
Besides the totally epic epilogue, my favorite scene took place in Josh's kitchen while the couple was making gourmet cupcakes. It was swoony and hilarious all rolled up into delicious icing! In the third cabinet under the counter, she hit the good stuff. “Oh! You have a KitchenAid.” “If you’re planning on caressing my mixer, you should know that might make my testicles explode,” he said from behind her. Her cheeks went hot enough to glow. “That would be awkward.”
This is an audio that I would listen to again and again. The story grabbed my heart from the beginning and never let go. I loved these characters and the development of their romance along with all the sexy cupcakes! Yes, you read that right. Cupcakes can indeed be delightfully sexy with salivating names like Edible Undies, Sex on a Peach and Spank me Strawberries. The author skillfully tied a beautiful bow on the story in the most whimsically brilliant epilogue ever. Kimmie’s and Josh’s story left me with a wonderfully warm and snugly happy feeling – one that persists every time I think about this cool couple and their tale.
Now, I can’t wait to delve into Merried, the next installment in this wonderful series. It is Max Gregory’s and Merry Silver’s story. He is the spare heir of Bliss’ most famous jewelry shop. She is the daughter of a notorious jewel thief. The family jewels are at risk and Max and Merry desperately need a Christmas miracle. The audio is already on my phone queued to play!
Dear Ms Farrell, Thank you for writing Sugared. It kept me laughing all morning. The wait for Kimmie and Josh's story was so worth it. That's what I'd write to Ms Farrell. To anyone reading this I say Jamie Farrell has gifted us with an awesome, well written book. Sugared is full of humor, a drop of drama and a sprinkle of spice. The characters are amazing and lovable. The dialog is fantastic and will keep you engaged. I enjoyed every page of this fun book and look forward to reading more from the talented Jamie Farrell in the future. Sugared is book 4 in the Misfit Brides of Bliss Series and can be read as a standalone. I suggest reading the whole series though so you don't miss out on any of the hilarity. Sugared is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I literally laughed out loud while reading. Kimmie is just hilarious, even when she's not trying to be. Josh comes into the picture and she literally tries to run away from her attraction to him. But since he owns half of her bakery, it makes life complicated for Kimmie. Especially when her mom(owner of the other half) wants all of the bakery to herself. Sparks fly when A small lie eventually weaves itself into a big one. I loved reading Kimmie's story! It's funny, sweet, and has all of the best Bliss couples making some appearance. Read it and you will not be disappointed. The whole series is awesome. *I received an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review!
Marilyn is the absolute worst, and the more this series tries to redeem her the less interested I am. But Kimmie is still the cutest, so that saved the book for me.
Another amazing book in Misfit Brides of Bliss series. I loved them all but this one is a definite favourite because of Kimmie. I adore her character and Josh isn't bad either. This one is a must read for fans of romantic comedies. :)
I did NOT enjoy this book. It was silly. The characters were a joke. Book three was great. I believe a ninja must have gotten a hold of the manuscript.
I love the Bliss series and I was pleased that someone finally realised how great Kimmie is. Josh is not what the appears to be. The playboy bachelor is really just a cover to hid the secret that is Josh. Kimmie and Josh's story is complicated and funny just like they are. I love that everyone in Bliss looks out for Kimmie and doesn't want her hurt by Josh. I was surprised that we didn't find out what Lindsay thought of them as a couple as she can tell if people are a good match. I look forward to more of Jamie Farrell's books.
Sugared is book four in The Misfit Brides of Bliss series by Jamie Farrell. (Pippa Grant<)
In Sugared, Kimmie and Josh deicide to enter into a fake relationship, each have their own reasons for this, Kimmie at her mother's request to get the other half of their bakery back and Josh to save his family business. I mean what can go wrong?!
This was a Laugh out loud read that had me swooning and sparks flying throughout! As with all Farrell's books, it flowed really well and had a great world building character's that we've heard in previous books and might hopefully here in more of her books. I find characters like this make books so much more.
This one is a must read for fans of romantic comedies.
I'm a really big fan of Jamie Farrell. I first found her books when judging a contest and totally fell in love with her characters in Southern Fried Blues. I then moved on to the Misfit Brides series and with each book I fell more in love with the character Kimmie. Seriously she is the sweetest and funniest character I've probably ever read and I couldn't wait for her to get her story.
Jamie Farrell totally delivered the story that total did justice to quirky Kimmie. I'm pretty sure I've never laughed so hard in my life while reading a romance, and I can guarantee I've never snorted sweet tea up my nose reading a romance before. Totally happened while I read Sugared. I have major love for Kimmie and wasn't really sure Josh was good enough for her when he first started coming around, and it has nothing to do with his rags to riches background. Josh really didn't have his head on straight and Kimmie needs a man strong enough to stand up for her and see her for the wonderfully, funny, talented, beautiful, and quirky person she is.
I started to like Josh and Kimmie as a couple the more time they spent together. Josh didn't look at Kimmie as if she had two heads when she spouted off her dreams or her fortune cookies and while he still needed her help to save his family's business, he never pushed Kimmie past her comfort zone. Plus there was really great slow-building chemistry between them. Yes, Kimmie had been attracted to Josh from the first moment she saw him, but Kimmie was so different from anyone Josh ever dated before and I loved that he fell for the real Kimmie and it totally didn't matter to him that she had her very own fashion sense and told her crazy dreams when she was nervous.
I absolutely loved Josh's parents, but especially his mom. She totally saw way more than the men in her life gave her credit for and knew from the moment she met Kimmie she was the girl for Josh. I seriously wanted to hug Esme so hard for how protective and accepting she was of Kimmie. She is the mother-in-law every woman hopes for when they get married. I also loved how each and every one of Kimmie's friends always have her back, especially when it comes to her mom and even Josh when he makes a huge mistake. I won't lie, I did shed a few tears as Kimmie's friends stepped up and circled the wagons to protect Kimmie.
I loved watching Kimmie and Josh fall in love with each other. Josh and Kimmie truly became friends before they moved their relationship into something more. I loved that Josh had to come to Bliss to see Kimmie early because he missed her so much. He totally got Kimmie and all her quirkiness and loved being around her as much as possible. Of course, Kimmie knew her feelings long before Josh would admit to his, and while I really wanted to throat punch Josh when he hurt Kimmie at one point, I loved them as a couple. Josh had so much loss in his life, I totally got his hesitancy to have a real relationship. I will say when Josh decides to make things right, he totally does it in a big way and it made me fall in love with him.
Sugared is my absolute favorite book by Jamie Farrell to date. Since Kimmie is such a special character, I wanted her to get her perfect happily ever after. Ms. Farrell totally delivered with the perfect Kimmie story. Sugared is filled with laughter, a few tears, lots of yummy cupcakes, love and even a few killer bunnies. I personally think you will understand Kimmie and her friends a bit more if you start with the first book in the Misfit Brides series. I do think readers wouldn't be completely lost if they started with Sugared.
Sweet, funny romance!!! This is the second book and the first book in this series that I have read by Jamie Farrell, and I loved both of them.
Josh’s family owns the Sweet Dreams Snack Cakes company. It has been successful until recently, and Josh will do anything to save it. His parents have given him everything…they took him in and adopted him, and he would do anything for them. Kimmie works for her overbearing, domineering mother who controls every aspect of her life…even professionally as Kimmie works for “General Mom.” Josh is in luck as he is the silent partner with Kimmie’s mother. So, he knows Kimmie has a talent for baking. He thinks getting some of her recipes will save his parents’ company, and “General Mom” wants Josh out of her company. So, the two embark on a “relationship” which begins with two people wanting something from one another, but they just might end up with something very real and lasting.
I loved Josh and Kimmie! They are complete opposites. He’s sexy, the women love him. Kimmie is quirky…she has weird dreams and blurts them out to anyone. You wouldn’t think these two would have anything in common, but they work. When these two are together, laughter soon follows. But it’s not all laughter, there are some serious moments. I love when characters grow in a book, boy do these two individuals change…all for the better. Each will face a fear they’ve always had. Josh is afraid of losing those he loves because of what he lost in his young life, and Kimmie is afraid of standing up for herself and going after what she wants because of “General Mom.”
I love books with warmth, romance, and humor, and Sugared had all three! Josh and Kimmie are characters that will warm your heart. I also fell in love with Kimmie’s cats, Boo and Peep. I have to add the epilogue is one of my favorites! I haven’t read the other book in the series, but I’m looking forward to reading more!
***Reviewed for Devilishly Delicious Book Reviews***
5 stars just does not seem like enough for this book!!! I wish I could give it so much more!
Nothing is better then falling into Jamie Farrell's newest novel. Sigh... Jamie Farrell is a story telling genius! You open the pages of her book and the most amazing story literally flies right off the pages. I read Sugared with such a huge smile on my face, that my cheeks literally hurt. I laughed out loud so hard, tears streamed down my face and my sides ached. I fell in love with Kimmie and her adorable awkwardness. I think she just might be my most favorite heroine ever. I also fell in love with Josh and his sexy determined ways. He literally melted my heart when he let his soft side be seen I don't think I have ever "met" two characters more suited for each other. These two tugged at my heart strings and I didn't want to let them go. I swooned and cried so many happy tears at their happily ever after.
Sugared is heart melting PERFECTION! I absolutely recommend this book to EVERYONE!!! In fact I recommend this whole series. Jamie Farrell just blows me away with her amazing story telling abilities. I get so attached to her characters, they stay with me long after the story ends. I hate getting to the end of a Jamie Farrell novel. It's so hard to say goodbye. Jamie Farrell is simply put... Addiction at it's very best! Don't miss out my friends!
I did receive an ARC of this book in exchange for my totally UNBIASED opinion.
My first for this author and in the beginning I didn't like the main characters and I especially was having a hard time not rolling my eyes at all the food references like, "Oh, pumplegunker. Did I miss the wedding? My mom’s gonna roast my carrots." But Kimmie and Josh grew on me as I got to know them.
That's something.
What I liked is that the friendship and attraction grew so that the sex felt right and not rushed like many books do. What I didn't like is the antagonist was a bit over the top. Nonetheless I was rooting for their HEA and I was fairly satisfied with how it came about.
So I might be impressed enough to sample another of her books.
Jaime's Review I've been waiting on Kimmie's story since this series began. Her nervous blurting of her strange dreams cracks me up. Oh the analyzing that could be done about those dreams. I've been waiting for Kimmie to find her voice and stand up against her mother. It just didn't quite seem possible. Then Josh comes along and Kimmie slowly starts making progress in standing up, not just against her mother, but for herself.
Josh comes off as a bit of selfish jerk but only because his pride keeps him from sharing the depths of his fear of losing or disappointing the people he loves. What starts as a means to save his parents company quickly turns into him falling for Kimmie, not despite her quirks but almost because of them.
I know that we are supposed to feel a bit of sympathy for her mother but I just can't get past how controlling and hurtful she is to anyone to doesn't obey her. I just wanted her to take ownership of her behavior and all of the awful things she's done to the people of Bliss but even then I'm not sure I can bring myself to like her.
This book was sugar sweet with a pinch of angst, a teaspoon of anger and a cup of quirk and I enjoyed every bite.
I loved reading Josh and Kimmie' s journey! This is the fourth book in the Misfit Brides and I can say that it is my favorite! I love how this book had me laughing ,crying, and cheering at the same time! Jamie Farrell has a unique writing style and I love her sense of humor! Kimmie has a hard time speaking her mind and her mother has steamrolled her throughout her life. When Birdie her mom's silent partner passes she gives her half of the bakery to Josh and her mother will stop at nothing to get it back. What do you get when you pair up an awkward woman who blurts out strange dreams, a mother who runs a bakery like a drill sergeant, and a sexy confident man? You get one awesome book! I highly recommend you read this book and don't forget to check out the rest of the Misfit Brides books especially if you love a great book that you won't be able to put down! I was giving this book for a fair and honest review
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Warning: Will make you prone to uncontrollable bouts of laughter while experiencing all the feels
Kimmie Elias works at Heaven’s Bakery for her mom also referred to as Queen General Mom. With weird dreams and crazy fortunes she has hopes of eventually owning the family business herself. Standing in her way is the man that inherited part ownership of Heaven's Bakery.
Josh Kincaid, known as the Josh Juan — a step above Don Juan, works for his family at the Sweet Dreams Snack Cake empire. His family business is in danger of going under and Josh is determined to do anything he can to save it.
When Josh makes a deal with Kimmie for both their benefits the whole town is thrown through a loop.
The secrets take their toll on the heat between Kimmie and Josh. As all is revealed Josh enters the games to prove his heart is in it to the long haul.
I am not a very humorous person but reading Jamie Farrell's books never fail to make me laugh. Her books are quirky and hilarious, yet her characters are not lame. They are full of personality and just endear the reader to them. Sugared, is by far, the quirkiest and most hilarious book I have read. Kimmie may seem like an extremely weird person who dreams weird dreams and sprouts them out to anyone listening when she is nervous (which is most of the time whenever General Mom is around). Josh started out with only one goal - to get Kimmie's recipes to save his adoptive parents' failing company. Never did he imagine that he would fall in love with someone as weird as Kimmie. But he is the only man who truly understands Kimmie and accepts her for who she is. But he has a reason for not wanting to accept that he is in love with her.
I've never laughed so much reading a book and I just can't wait to read more books by Jamie Farrell.
For me, this was an instant favourite and Ms. Farrell's best book to date.
Kimmie is the kind of woman you want to be your best friend. She's smart, kind, and unique so who would have thought that someone like the 'Joshanova' might be interested in her? Certainly not Kimmie herself... At first, I wasn't sure if I liked Josh but the man has layers and he didn't take long to start growing on me.
If wacky dreams, killer bunnies, and drool-worthy cupcakes don't do it for you, the growing love and passion between them will. Kimmie and Josh both have insecurities and obstacles to overcome to find their happiness and that only made witnessing their journey together a pure joy.
This is a light entertaining read. Kimmie is hysterical & Josh is the perfect counterbalance to her weirdness. I could totally visualize the antics of her cats too! I have not read the other books in the series, but was never lost while reading this. The story flowed well, the world building is great & the story overall held my interest. The way the story progressed, could totally see the relationship evolve into love. The only thing that got old was her weird dream conversations, I would have liked quite a few less of those, would have helped make her seem just a tad less crazy in the head & more just spouting off weird things when nervous.
Dreaming of Cupcakes: Kimmie is torn between her dreams and the obligations her Mother has pushed on her. Josh is honor bound to help his family regardless of his own true interests. Together, they are a comedy of errors, learning to stand on their own and make their own destiny. This story made me laugh and cry and Dream about cupcakes, LOTS of cupcakes!!! Check out all the Misfit Brides of Bliss, this series will warm your heart and make you laugh out loud!! I received an ARC in exchange for my review.
Kimmie is understandable single, quirky and her mother is a bully, bordering on abusive... I wanted more about this.... and she essentially gets K to prostitute herself to save the family bakery of which Josh owns half..... which also isn't truly addressed. Josh wants K's recipes to help his dying snack cake company. In a convoluted scheme, K agrees to seduce J and J wants to be seduced and get the recipes. I'm exhausted and I don't like to be after I read romance.
I have been waiting for this book to come out! The author kept me laughing throughout the book! Kimmie is so funny and I loved her dreams and how she used these dreams when she felt under pressure. If you have to choose one funny book to read this year, you will hate yourself if you don't choose this one. It is amazing! Josh and his family are so perfect for Kimmie!!!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have been waiting for Kimmie's story since she was first introduced in Blissed. She is such a fun character to read about. She is so quirky and her dreams are laugh out loud funny! Josh is the silent partner in the bakery and wants Kimmie's cupcake recipes to help save his snack cake company. Josh and Kimmie's are perfect for each other. If you are looking for a sweet, fun, laugh so hard your eyes water romance then this is the book for you!
This is my favorite book of the series so far. I have loved Kimmie in the other books and I think that is why I loved this books so much. Kimmie and Josh were great!. Loved Esme and Aidan. Loved how EVERYONE kept threatening Josh and he took it all in stride. I laughed through this book, it tugged at my heart strings, wonderful romance and a great cast of characters. I hope there is another book maybe Pepper?
I have waited for Kimmie's story after meeting her in Blissed, let me tell you, it was worth the wait. I fell in love with Kimmie and Josh. Kimmie will have you laughing, cheering and a few tears while reading her story.
Jamie has a great flair in her writing that will keep you turning the pages and rooting for the romance of Josh and Kimmie. Must read while eating cupcakes!
