Unhitched is the seventh and final book in the Misfit Brides series by Jamie Farrell. I have loved this series from the start, each and every book has stolen my heart, made me laugh, and brightened my world. I’m sorry to see it come to an end but so happy that we get Tarra’s story.

If you remember in the previous book, Tarra Blue was on the verge of getting married, only to discover that she was already married. So when her fiancé realized this, he left her at the alter. The warning signs had been there for Tarra, that he wasn’t right for her, but she ignored them. Now she needs to hunt down her “husband” and finally get a proper divorce.

divorce papers

Ben Garcia had been a corporate hot shot, raking in the money hand over fist, living the life. It was during a weekend ten years ago on a trip to Vegas that he had met Tarra. They spent three days together and something magical happened. He proposed, she said yes, and they got married. Only to wake up to reality and realize they had separate lives they needed to return to. They filed for divorce and went their separate ways, Ben going back to his stressful life. Only no matter how many millions of dollars he made, he never really felt happy or fulfilled. Then after his partner dropped dead, he left everything and went to Coconut Bay, Florida to care for his sick mother and seemingly become a beach bum.

coconut bay

Imagine his surprise when he saw Tarra walk onto the beach in Coconut Bay. And even more surprise when he realizes that they are still married. One touch and he knows that whatever that magical thing is that happened ten years before, it’s still there between them. No sooner did Tarra come back into his life that he felt like a missing puzzle piece had clicked back into place. That ever since he let her walk away ten years ago, he had been in a holding pattern, waiting for her to come back to him.

“She didn’t have time for a fling. Not with anyone, especially a man she needed to get a divorce from. Whom she barely knew at all. But whom her body remembered like their time together had been yesterday.”

couple on the beach

Tarra needed time to get over her previous fiancé. She had complications now, a life to get back to. She couldn’t let this man who she had this unexplainable connection to, back into her life. She just needs him to sign the papers and she’ll go home to Bliss, Illinois, and her life. Only the longer she spends with Ben, the more she is tempted to give in to the pull he seems to have on her.

This was such an adorable story. Tarra and Ben were perfect together. Ten years ago they found each other but perhaps they weren’t ready for each other yet. Maybe they needed this time to find themselves before they could find each other again. We get glimpses into all of the couples we have fallen in love with during this series. The Blue family is practically a city themselves when they all get together. But of one thing I’m sure is that they are a family full of love and laughter and I am so happy to have been able to share this time with them over the course of this series.

Another in this series of Misfit Brides, and the second one I have read.
Tarra Blue was dumped at the altar, pregnant, when her in-laws discovered she was still married to someone else, because the attorney at the time failed to file the divorce papers for her quickie Las Vegas wedding ten years before. She’s now 38 and ends to get stuff sorted before her baby is born.

Ben is a former high-powered M&A businessman, whose partner died of a heart attack at 38. This is the wake-up call that makes him finally aware he is very unhappy. He leaves his job and drifts, living with mum in Florida, until Tarra turns up wanting him to sign the new divorce papers.

This is when he remembers how much he loved those 3 days in Las Vegas. He is devastated to realise he was too scared to hold on to Tarra, when she was the one who could have saved him from the path to misery he took instead.
A sweet novella, where I really liked the FMC, who had great strength of character. Ben was a bit lost, and as this is the second book I have read in this series where the MMC is kind of broken, I am wondering whether I will read any more of them. It would be nice to meet a man who was actually ok and could be completely there to help a broken woman get it together!

Unhitched (Misfit Brides #7) by Jamie Farrell

Jamie Farrell is back with one last hurrah for a Misfit Bride. Tarra and Ben find themselves caught between a spur of the moment decision and forever. Farrell creates another charmingly, hilarious splash with a couple of newlyweds, that aren't. Vegas is the mecca of bad choices. Ben and Tarra got married, then annulled and went their separate ways. Now that one event has come back to haunt them and the ghost of weddings past could end up being the best decision they ever made. Unhitched is a smile zone. Fun is only a misstep away.

What a great addition to the wonderful Misfit Brides Series, Unhitched may be a quick read but that takes nothing away from this funny romantic story. Tara Blue needs to find the man she married 10 years ago in Vegas she needs to get Ben Garcia to sign the divorce papers so she can move in with her life but more importantly the baby she is carrying life. Ben Garcia was a businessman when he married Tara and he walked away because his company meant more to him than any relationship but things change and after his partner dropping down dead and his mum being diagnosed with cancer he now spends his days as a Florida beach bum watching over deck chairs. When Tara and Ben meet again feelings quickly come into play but will they act on them or will they walk away again.....
This quick read had me laughing out loud, I loved the banter between Ben and the women his mother has lined up for him to marry and Tara fitted in just perfectly. If you want a book that will leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat this is the perfect summer read. Reading Unhitched made me realise just how much I missed the funny antics of the Misfit Brides time for a re read or maybe a new bride.

Last of the series and a real quick read. I really liked it and the characters were great. Even though it was pretty short definitely sweet, charming and swoony.
This pair was married in Vegas on a whim, divorced (or so they thought) and 10 yrs later Tarra finds she is pregnant, her fiance dumps her, she finds she is NOT divorced, what a mess. She used to be carefree and fun, he was buttoned up work obsessed exec. They had 3 wonderful days then he decided it wasn't going to work and left. She is now business owner and he is a beachbum.

Cute, short read.

After the mess that was Tarra’s wedding in the previous book of the series, it was so nice to see Tarra get her HEA. Ben is a good man. I wish this has been full length...he’s such a great character.

There are few authors who can take a short novella and make it seem like it’s a full length book, complete with hysterical characters and a great storyline. Jamie Farrell is a master storyteller, her books are always filled with humor, sass, unconventional characters that leave you with a smile on your face and laughter on your lips. I absolutely adore her and the books she writes. Tarra and Ben’s story picks up 10 years after they did the spontaneous Vegas wedding and three days later the subsequent divorce, but the divorce never went through, so Tarra has come to Coconut Bay to get Ben’s signature on the second divorce attempt after not seeing him for 10 years. Tarra is now pregnant with her ex fiancé’s child, something she doesn’t want Ben to know, but who knew there would still be sparks between these two people who should no longer be married. Loved the reappearance of the Blue sisters and family, since this is the last book in the series, Jamie once again showed just how good she is and wrapped up this series with an incredible book.

Those of us who have read everything that Jamie Farrell has written know just how special of a writer she is. Sadly she is taking a step back from writing, which has her readers lost. It also makes this book extra extraordinary because not only is it a classic Jamie Farrell written book, but we all at least got closure on a pretty incredible series. Loved every single one of the Misfit Bride characters, each has their own unique humor and personality, so if you haven’t read the series, give yourself a special treat and start with book one. You won’t be sorry. I wish Jamie only the best for her and her very special family, but one thing is for sure, when she decides to pick up where she left off, her fans will be waiting with certain happiness to pick up where we all left off, another great book from the incredibly talented, hysterical and bacon loving Jamie Farrell....

Unhitched - book 7 in the Misfit Brides series - features Blue sister Tarra and her 10 years ago husband from a Vegas wedding, Ben.

This is a VERY quick read - only 15 chapters. I think it took me less than 90 minutes.

Tarra was left at the altar in the last book when her fancy pants future mother-in-law's hired PI shows up with proof that Tarra was still married. Her jerk of a fiancé didn't stand by her, even though she had just found out she was pregnant. So she hired her own PI to find her not-so-ex husband.

Ben used to be a high powered mergers & acquisitions businessman. A few twists in life and he had lost his desire for the next business win, but he had no idea what he really wanted to do with the rest of his life.

Then Tarra showed up with divorce papers - and the chemistry they had in Vegas? It hadn't ever disappeared. He wanted another chance, but he had a few things to figure out about himself first.

This is the last book in the series and I enjoyed them all. If you've seen any of my other reviews about Misfit Brides, you'll know that if QG Marilyn featured heavily in the story, it wasn't my favorite. But still, they're all worth reading. My favorites are probably this one (Unhitched) followed by Spiced, Matched, Sugared, Merried, Smittened, and then Blissed. My favorite couples don't fall in the same order, but read them and choose for yourself. Enjoy!

Loads of Fun

Tarra finds out she’s still married to Ben just moments before getting ready to marry her “just OK” fiancé, who leaves her at the altar, good man that he is.

Tarra is tall, slender, has a big heart and the patience of Job. She’s a self-made business entrepreneur now and tracks down her hubby to get him to sign divorce papers and get them filed properly this time.

After losing his best buddy and business partner to a heart attack the previous year, Ben left his high powered, cut-throat, take-no-prisoners job that ate all his time and left him rich but with no time for anything or anyone else. He let Tarra go 10 years ago because he didn’t feel he deserved her. When she turns up, he falls for her all over again and wants to keep her. Because until she shows up, he’s just been an aimless beach bum with an umbrella stand, living with Mom, and doesn’t really care about anything, not even his current harem – and they really don’t like to share with outsiders.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story. Jamie Farrell is on my auto-buy list. Her books are always entertaining, always addictive.

wry good short read

This is book 7. Please read them in order so you know the characters and events leading up to this book.
Overview: Tarra being left at the alter was not the way she pictured her wedding day. Her Ex Fiancées mom hired a private eye to look into Tarra and make sure she was not a gold digger, only to find she was married. On a crazy whim10 years ago Tarra met Ben in Vegas and they got married, and divorced 3 days later, only to find out today that the lawyer wasn’t real, and was in jail and the court never notified her or Ben. So she heads to the gulf coast to find Ben and get a divorce. Ben gave up his rich life style when his work partner died on the job at 39. Only to go home and visit is mom and find out she has colon cancer. Ben left his job and decided to take care of his mom. But when Tarra shows up, he knows what he has been missing the last 10 years, even better that she was pregnant with another man’s baby that he wants to be his own. But how could they make a marriage work?

Unhitched
Misfit Brides, Book 7
By: Jamie Farrell, Pippa Grant
Narrated by: Emma Wilder

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. And comes back to haunt you! That is what Tarra finds out when she goes for her marriage license. Her quickie marriage from ten years ago to Ben is still legal. Now she is in town, ready to dissolve it so she can move on with her life and her baby. But Ben has other ideas. This quick listen is all that an more. There is warmth and love. There is memories and feelings to build on. Never say love at first sight isn't a thing because Ben and Tarra will prove you wrong. I am in love with this couple and the way they are true to their hearts.

Emma Wilder could not have been better with this novella. She dives in head first creating Ben. His indecisiveness, his heart, and his passion are right there for the taking with her voice. Then she easily moves to Tarra, guarded, complicated and not ready to give in to her feelings. Her talent to bring stories to life is unmatched and I loved her performance.

Vegas, 2nd chance, amazing banter, rom com with spice!

This is a novella set in "Misfit Brides" series world. However I think that you can read this as a stand alone. You will just have met some of the secondary characters before and maybe get a bit more feels out of it. But it is not necessary.

This is not the first book in the series, but it can be read as a complete stand-alone. However I think you will get more out of it if you have read the other books as you have met some of the characters before. But don’t let that deter you. This can be a stand-alone. But it will make you want to read all the other books!

I listened to the audiobook of this, and loved it! I think that hearing the voices gives you so much more as a reader. You really can feel the emotions. You connect much quicker to the characters as well. These narrators were top notch.

Jamie Farrell delivers another amazing book with Unhitched. This is a quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Farrell has once again given us a well-written book loaded with outstanding characters. Tarra travels to Coconut Bay to get her divorce papers signed. Ben had other ideas. Ben and Tarra's story is packed with drama, humor, spice and lots of water delivery methods. I loved this book from start to finish and hope to read more from Jamie Farrell in the future. Unhitched is book 7 of the Misfit Brides Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you are looking for a fun, flirty, quick romance, give Unhitched by Jamie Farrell a try. This is a great story about a couple who did the whole Vegas marriage only to part ways shortly after, assuming they were legally divorced. Ten years later, Tarra realizes the divorce didn't get filed so she takes the papers to Ben, her husband she hasn't seen in ten years.

Farrell writes an engaging story from start to finish from the dialogue between the characters to the romance and chemistry between the stars of the book, and Tarra's wacky family back in Bliss. It is all fantastic!

If you haven't read a book by Farrell yet, give Unhitched a read to get a taste of her writing! If you already love Farrell's books, you must add this one to your list!

This little gem is a sweet, delightful story that will hook you right from the start. Tarra and Ben fell for each other in Vegas ten years ago. They had a fun, passionate encounter that led to a Vegas wedding they both agreed to having annulled the next morning as they went their separate ways. When Tarra realizes their papers were never filed, she finds Ben to help her finally get the job done. When they see each other again, they see why they fell for each other the first time. They are different people now, wondering what they have been missing. Are they ready to live the life they started in Vegas? Tarra and Ben's story is filled with witty banter, an abundance of feels, meddling and busybody family, and heaps of unconditional love.
Emma Wilder does a great job bringing these delightful characters and this entertaining story to life.

Ben and Terra’s story was fantastic! The humor that Jamie Farrell is known for is definitely present in this book. It is a little different than the other books in this series because it doesn’t take place in Bliss, but it wouldn’t make sense if it did. Ben and Terra’s chemistry was sparkling but it didn’t have any intimacy that her other books have. I know this was meant to be a novella, but I would have loved it even more as a full length story. Either way it was great and I really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this book.

A fun, quick read. This is the seventh in the Misfit Brides series. Ten years ago, Tarra Blue and Ben Garcia met and got married in Las Vegas. They thought that they had the marriage annulled, but the paperwork was never filed. Tarra has tracked Ben down to get a divorce, but Ben wants to try again. This is a sweet story with very likable characters. I wish that there was more time spent on the re-establishment of their relationship. It seemed a bit rushed. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

Finally, Tarra gets her story. After being left at the altar, Tarra has to find the man she spent an incredible 3 days with in Vegas and married and though she divorced. This sends her to Coconut Bay and a very interesting first encounter with Ben, her husband. Ben is at a crossroads after his best friend and partner died from a heart attack, he is realizing his drive for the next big deal may not be the best approach for his life. When Tarra appears, she is like a breath of fresh air and just what he needs. Ben realizes that maybe they shouldn’t get divorced but Tarra seems determined that they should. Will Ben be able to break through Tarra’s walls? Always a wonderfully fun and sexy journey with one of the Blue sisters and this one didn’t disappoint.

Ben and Tarra

Book 7 in the Misfit Brides Series. This is Ben and Tarra's story who was married 10 years ago in Vegas and thought they were divorced. They reconnect, find out they still have chemistry, she's pregnant and Ben has to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up!
The book is a second chance, short story with no lies or cheating. It is a stand alone issue and doesn't have to be read in order.

Another cute and sweet book for this series! We found out about Tarra and her issues in the last book. At her wedding, her groom walked out after finding out she was still married from a Vegas wedding from ten years ago. She thought she was divorced but it never happened. So now she’s alone and pregnancy as well. She goes to hunt down Ben to get him sign divorce papers and sparks fly once again. It’s short and sweet but a good story.

Fantastic book

I absolutely loved this book! Ben was a lost soul after his business partner keeled over dead with a heart attack. He left his business and went to his mother. She had been diagnosed with cancer. Terra was stopped at the alter when her future husband's .mother found out she was still married to Ben. She went to find him and found a broken Ben. She realized she really wanted Ben. He realized that he wanted Terra. Story is beautiful!

Sweet novella to end the Misfit Brides

We close out the Misfit Brides series with Tarra’s story. We find out in the previous book that she had a Vegas marriage 10 years ago and the divorce was never finalized. Oops. In Unhitched, we see how the story plays out. She finds her husband, Ben, also unaware that their marriage is still intact down in Florida. Unhitched is a cute novella that brings the warm fuzzies and a HEA.

Happily Ever After!

This final story in the Misfit Brides series does not disappoint. I am really sad there aren't more Blissians to follow into love. Wait, what about Cinna? Doesn't she get a story? Anyway, having Tarra survive her disaster of wedding blow-up, pregnant and still married to a Vegas weekend oopsie made for a great take on the accidental husband (who is usually a big jerk!) trope. Trust me, this is a great read!

Jamie Farrell's books always bring a smile to my face. This was a bittersweet read for me because it's the culmination of the Misfit Brides series, which I've enjoyed so much. But I loved Tarra and Ben's novella! As always, it was the perfect combination of romance and laughter that Jamie is known for!

Sweet!! This is a light, sweet & fun story about second chances. Tara and Ben had a Vegas wedding ten yrs. ago and three days later (supposedly divorced) they went their separate ways. Ten yrs. later life plays a cruel joke and Ben and Tara were NEVER divorced. And that’s where the fun begins!! I loved this story and am so happy Tara got her HEA!

There are two things you can count on when you read a book written by Jamie Farrell. You're guaranteed to laugh out loud at the crazy antics of her delightful characters and they will stay in your heart long after their happily-ever-after comes true. When Tarra Blue and Ben Garcia are reunited ten years after their Vegas wedding she's in town to make sure they get unhitched. But a meddling mother in law and Ben's harem of women can't compete with the chemistry between these two lonely hearts. I guarantee you're going to love this romance by a talented author whose storytelling never fails to engage my heart.

ANOTHER Excellent book in this series!

Unfortunately, it's the last one In the series, and I haven't seen any additional Epilogues as being available, which is sad! I mean, I love to read, but I really do not like to finish a Series, especially as good as this series was! On the other hand, read it anyway! You'll be very glad you did!!!!
