No woman wants the attention of an alpha. Huge, brutal, dominant... They take what they want, no matter who, or what, it is. And now I have two focused on making me theirs.
“…just one dose of Representine could change your life forever! Become the alpha you’ve always wanted to be. Enjoy life to the full at the top of the food chain and have men and women falling at your feet!”
Representine. That drug changed my life. The instant my ex became an alpha, I was gone, thrown out on the street with nothing but the clothes on my back… and a small amount of savings I’d hidden away. But living costs money and with those funds dwindling quickly, I need a job and fast…
I’ll take anything. I really am that desperate.
I just didn’t expect it to be for Mason and Dante. The two young and handsome alphas have haunted my dreams for years.
Now I’m at their beck and call…
Please be aware: This is a much darker and grittier world than my other series, so readers are advised to proceed with caution.
A Continuing Story: Please be aware this is a serialised romance in three parts.
Mina Carter is a New York Times & USA Today bestselling author of romance in many genres. She lives in the UK with her husband, daughter, a puppy who pays no attention to her whatsoever, and a bossy cat.
WOW! Ok, I want to start off by saying CLIFFHANGER! This is a serialized book, broken into three parts. I did not realize that and was cursing at the end of the book because it had me hooked to the point I was not ready to that ending. After Neve's marriage ended, she needed a job in order to just keep a roof over her head. What she didn't expect was two hot Alphas who had lusted after her since they were teens. Can her life really be turning around or is this just a good time before the rug is pulled out from under her again.
An absolutely wonderful beginning to a story I'm dying to read completely! I loved the realistic take on the omegaverse storyline that this author gives us. Neve was handed a crappy hand that was made worse when her bad husband found a new way to hurt her. Starting over is never easy, and Mina Carter has a gift in her writing, so when she describes Neve's life so graphically, I can almost smell her grimey landlord and picture the crummy apartment that she has to live in. Her bosses were a surprise, and I'm really enjoying their dynamic interactions with her and can't wait to see where it all ends. Although it ends in a cliffhanger, I can guarantee you that it will only make you want to read the next part that much quicker!
Short review: This is like the nighttime omegaverse soap opera. 💀
Longer review: The universe is about 60% cocoa levels of dark, the two alphas are growly but doting, and in this part (it’s a 3 part serial) there is a lot of active lusting if not full on sex. Oh, and it ends on a cliffhanger.
First read His Hidden Omega and thought to circle back to the authors first book in the series. The HHO was ok. Entertaining but not “second read” worthy. Color me surprised to find that the three book arch “Finding There Omega” was all smut no plot.
As a reader I was asked to suspend too much with relatively no pay off. These characters knew each other when the brothers were children playing with the FMC’s 9yr old son. Now I’m not opposed to age gap or later in life romance but this book had noooooo romance. These three just fall into bed together without a second thought.
MILF Mina walks in for an interview days after he husband out-of-the-blue divorces her leaving her without a cent to her name. Brothers Dante and Mason recognize Mina immediately and with no discussion between the boys (they just know each other that well I guess) they suspend all future interviews to hire her on the spot for the sole purpose of acting out their delayed fantasies.
This book jumps right into the “action” with very little preamble. Not only are the MMC’s immediately all in for extra curricular but the FMC requires no time to digest her divorce and hasn’t a single hangup on entering into a questionable power dynamic by engaging in a sexual relationship with her new boss(es). Who by the way she last interacted with as a neighborhood parental figure. (These boys running through her home playing with her son.)
I found it too much of a reach. The only explanation driving their behavior being alpha omega dynamic. Which even here didn’t feel to line up. Suddenly after living 40+yrs as a beta, raising a son who’s now off to collage Mina body decides it’s really been an Omega all along and has a second puberty so to speak.
Such an amazingly intense beginning in just a few short pages! I’m not usually one for cliff hangers, but man oh man, this book was fantastic! I love the characters! The alpha/omega dynamic is in full force, but that didn’t stop this alpha pair. They saw what they wanted and worked together to get it, and the poor little beta was shocked with a blast from her past. The author drew me in and I couldn’t stop reading until the last page. This book is the start of something wonderful and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Romance genre: omegaverse Series: Alpha Security Company Length: 77 pages
Plot: Neve's marriage ended when her husband became an alpha and divorced her, and now she needs a job, fast. She finds a new job and discovers that her new bosses are two men who lived next door to her when they were teenagers. What she doesn't know is that they both had fantasies about her then, and intend to make her theirs now.
Commentary: Short - I'm not a fan of serials, especially when they could easily be combined into one book. This was an okay omegaverse, with the twist of people being able to change their chemistry with the right drugs. In this case, as in most, the alphas have complete control, but differently, when a man becomes an alpha, he's allowed to divorce his beta wife, and she has no say and is escorted from their house with nothing, which is what leaves Neve needing a job so desperately. That aspect was interesting, but not enough for me to pay for the other two short books. If they were in KU, I would give them a try.
First installment of this series. I wished I had seen the note beforehand. I just thought it is a standalone series of short stories. The first one only cost me 94 cent (Euro currency). The price was okay, and the blurb sounded interesting. So, I gave it a try.
And the story was really intriguing. I have read a lot Omegaverse books. This book wasn't the best, but not the worst either. The twist with a drug to change the dynamic was something new. And the society build too. I mean, there are a lot of stories with Alphas described as superior in strength to Betas and Omegas. Though, the handling of Betas and Omegas is diverse.
Here we have a society where the Alphas have all the power. Betas, though still weaker and used as workers, are still able to be free in some way. Even though, the rights against an Alpha are few. And Omegas haven't any rights and possibilities in life, other than being mated to Alphas. They can't work or live on their own.
Regarding that, the title of the book was confusing to me. Because the FMC in this book is a Beta, and even though she has the build of an Omega, she isn't one. Not in this one, anyway.
I don't mind that she is older than the Alphas Dante and Mason, but the gape is fairly large, and it is a little strange that they have lusted after her since their teen years. I don't know, I like it a bit more balanced. I mean, they had played with her son. The gape should have been smaller.
The price for the first one was okay, as I said. But the next books or short stories are quite pricy for the page count. Considering all page count, the author could have merged all books in one. I know an author has to live from something. And writing is hard work. But still, it would have been better for the readers. Or at least KU should be available. But okay.
Overall, it was well-written and did keep my attention. So, I will read the next stories, because I liked it and I want to know what happens next.
I mean, it was fine. It's a three parter, three books per one triad/partnership. And I HATE THOSE. Gimme all three in one!! But hey, I got one of them free, and had to buy the other two--and I get that that is the whole point of a split-up with cliffhangers.
I like the idea of a technically advanced alpha/beta/omega society where they've created a drug that can push your dynamic into what it could've been had you not been born borderline. It think that's a fascinating hot take. Andddd--yes, I do think it was written well.
I also like the idea of an older hidden omega, but the teenager boys lusting after her early on is a little cringe, while it doesn't feel like grooming--it does feel weird reading that part of their story.
I dunno', I was just on the fence on it. Coulda' been better, but it damn sure coulda' been worse!
SPOILER alert: I died laughing. At one point towards the end, this heroine is seriously beaten up by the antagonist. Like, hideous bruises, blood, cuts, swelling, etc. And all any of the heroes or people around comment on after they save her is the fact she was given said dynamic drug. Like, yeah, I get it, that's terrible. But NOT ONE of them, EVEN IN THEIR HEADS--comment on her visible injuries. It was really, really weird.
Injuries? "...looking through one eye. The other was already swollen shut, and the warm trickle down the side of my face said my brow was cut." "...the rough wood bruising my back." "...backhanded me across the face..." "...with a hard backhand across her face."
One of the guy's responses? "She shivered again, and I realized she was naked, her clothes ripped away and dirt covering her skin." ...that's it. And the cops? "I am arresting you for the kidnapping and assault including actual bodily harm in the forcible dynamic change of beta Neve Clark." "...All you can pin on me is kidnap, asshole.” "He didn’t need to see his mother in such a state: naked and shivering, wrapped in someone’s shirt."
I mean. Outright assault is enough folks. Even at the beginning of the book, she talks at length about Betas not reporting assault and rape because alphas are in charge and it's a dirty system--but the charges still exist.
Anywho.
It just felt real weird for NOT ONE PERSON to outright mention her physical injuries. Very strange.
I am also not a fan of serials, but lucky me, the entire "serial", which is a book chopped into bite-sized morsels that leave you hanging, was completed. The story is written in several povs, mostly Mason, Dante and Neve's voices. Neve is struggling to make ends meet after being kicked out by her ex-hubby with very little to call her own. She tries to make the best of it, but knows if she doesn't secure a job soon, she's going to be on the streets. As Neve struggles to find her stride she is challenged by several situations that present themselves. Enter Mason and Dante. A true alpha pair with a successful security business.
I am not a fan of this world the author created. There is a caste system of sorts where the Alphas rule, Betas ("the in-betweeners") are looked down upon, and Omegas have no voice...depending on the character's perspective. Women seem to take the short end of the stick either way. Alphas seem to do anything they want with little recourse, rage, plunder, etc. Just blame it on being an alpha...they can't help it. And now, there's a drug that can turn betas into an alphas. That's the problem our main character has with her beta turned alpha ex-husband.
Despite all the hierarchy talk, this really isn't a shifter book, though there are some things that manifest themselves and have similarities. Noone shifts in these books. Their eyes may, and some of them have a keener sense of smell, but I wouldn't call this a true shifter book. The stories held my attention enough that I finished them all, but the repetitiveness of the hierarchy and disdain for betas were wearing. This is definitely an adult read with all the deets and crude language...just warning. 2.5
Finding Their Omega is the first serial in the Alpha Security Company series. Because it is a serial, it does end on a cliffhanger, and this is set within an Omegaverse world. Neve is a beta hoping to get the job as a PA at the Aloha Security Company, and is shocked when she’s accepted. Mason and Dante are her bosses, an Alpha pair, and they have a shared history. But will these alphas overwhelm Neve?
Ohhh, Omegaverse books always get my heart pumping, and I loved Ms. Carter’s take on this world she’s created. Neve, Mason, and Dante have a unique connection and I’m super curious to see what’s going to come during the next two parts of their story! Neve was really cool because she was a little bit older, but I loved how she tried to be strong, tried to stand up for herself, and while she respected alphas, she tried not to let them completely bowl her own. Mason and Dante are all alpha, and they know it! I love their instant connection, something they’ve felt for years, but now can finally act on it. There’s a lot of passion with an instant-lust feel, but there’s more to this triad than just chemistry. There’s possession, a need to protect, and I’m honestly just so excited to see what will happen and come next! I love some of the background drama that’s happening, and because this ended on a cliffhanger, I’m dying to know what’s going on!
Okay, I love the fantasy of threesomes but a lot of time the story is an excuse for sexy scenes. And while there's nothing wrong with that, I love a great story going on too. I'm just a little annoyed that these are three different books (totally worth the money) but they read as one.
First happy thing for me is that the MFC is 45 years old and the MMCs are 30. We usually never get an older MFC and almost never get younger MMCs so this story is a special treat. That the guys have been into her since they were teenagers should be creepy but for some reason it's not - they have just been in love with her ever since. As she says to one of them,
“It’s got to be what… more than ten years since I saw you both last?”
“Twelve years, six months and three days,” Dante growled…”
I also found the world interesting. Alpha, Beta, Omega worlds don't always appeal to me but the complexity of what's going on is well done and delivered throughout the stories. As with most dominance and submission dynamics, some are well written and some just aren't. This author does a great job describing what the dominant's responsibility is in the best possible expression. And in the end, the violence, rage, good guys and bad guys, vulnerable women, and the longing for safety are not so different from the real world.
Omegaverse is a little darker than my usual go-to reads but when it's written by Mina Carter, well I'll give anything a go!
So happy that this has an older heroine. Neve is mid-forties and her husband decided he was too good for her once he "upped his level" to Alpha. So now she can't even say she's divorced, her marriage just didn't happen! I wonder what their son thinks of this???
Now needing to make some cash as she is no longer the comfortable housewife she was, she goes for an interview and realises that her potential new bosses are the handsome teenagers she used to live next door to! Now they are all grown up and are Alpha to their cores. But will this potential romance end as badly as her marriage or do they really want her, in all her Beta humdrumness as she sees it.
Dante and Mason are two sides of a very hot alpha coin. They are seen as brawn and brains when in reality they are both a blend of each, they just have their own go to comfort zones.
Please note it does end on a cliffhanger and it's not a nice place for Neve to be stuck! I'm not sure what to make of Bane yet - I'm not sure if he's a potential feral or just an a-hole LOL!
I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and was very enticing. It does end on a cliffhanger and is part of a 3 book series to complete the characters stories. I loved the byplay between the characters and this story definitely whet my appetite for not only the next two books for Neve, Dante and Mason's story but also others set in this world and at Alpha Security! This was well written and really set up the world well with it being so well interwoven into the story for Neve, Dante, and Mason that it wasn't too much details for how this Alpha, Omega, and Beta world works. The story is short and a quick read. It does have a bit of a darker vibe to it as the world and rules of the world are darker but it was very enticing and I can't wait to see how Dante and Mason continue to treat Neve. I loved the way that they acted around her and the control they showed. They could take what they wanted, but they don't. I can't wait for the next two books to be out! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I don’t generally read paranormal or omniverse or dystopian books, they don’t have much appeal for me. I however found the three main characters in this story interesting in spite of the dystopian circumstances.
There are alphas, betas, and omegas. Neve explains that alphas do and say whatever they please and no one dares stand up to them. Betas are the workers who keep their heads down and their mouths shut. Omegas have no autonomy and are bound in obedience to the alpha that they are with. Omegas can be treated well or poorly and are for breeding purposes, once their bodies are worn out, they are disposed of. This is Neve’s perspective. Mason and Dante have a different point of view and since this is only book one I cannot tell whose perspective is accurate. But I can say most men in this book, outside of the main characters, suck.
Neve is older than Mason and Dante. Neve is beta, Mason and Dante are alphas who enjoy sharing a woman in bed together.
This is a short novella that ends on a cliffhanger so that the reader must read part two in the series.
Alphas, omegas and betas…OH MY! Mina Carter has created delicious foray into the world of an alpha dominant world with this new series. It is a three part serial read with the cliffhanger you just scream at because you do NOT WANT THIS READ TO END! We meet Neve, an older “divorced” woman …down on her luck since her ex husband decided he needed an omega. On a job interview she meets Dante and Mason, alphas that had pined for her since youth. I love that Carter’s heroine is an older woman. Too many authors don’t realize that us older women need some books that address a woman like themselves…throw in that they’re curvy and that’s a winner. Carter has always delivered quality prose. She is a gifted story teller. Download and enjoy but beware, you might have to wait a bit for the full story to complete. I’m already hoping Bane is the next book. That short scene in the elevator had me drooling. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I read Alpha Security Company series #4 and #5 first, and those books were more complete and thorough than the first three books appear to be. What a disappointment. In fact, Books 1-3 could be collapsed into one book IMO. I'm disappointed that book 1 was just all about sex and there was no disguising that. I do want a book with a decent story, and there was so much potential, I thought, based on what I read in book #4. Books 1-2 gave only the barest of attempts to hide that it was simply a sex scenario. I'd like a bit of plausibility and plotline, thank you.
The fact that Neve was immediately shared and used in the office on essentially her second day of work with no consequences really threw me off. And there wasn't enough mention of the plotline with Representine. I just ended up flipping ahead of the sex scenes because i was so disappointed.
Also, and this is just my issue, i had a hard time adjusting to the reverse age gap.
Book one of a three book story, this really sets the scene for a hot and steamy MFM romance.
This is a world where there are three types of people -Alphas, betas, and omegas. Alphas are the top, dominant, aggressive, and take what they want. Betas are left alone, they do the work, and avoid Alphas as much as possible. Omegas are the mates to Alphas, and depending on their Alpha they can be cosseted and loved, or treated like a sex slave for breeding.
Mason and Dante are two very alpha Alphas with their own company and are looking for a Personal Assistant. Neve is an older heroine recovering her life after her marriage was dissolved when she gets the job as their PA.
There is lots of hot sexy talk, a hot scene on the work desk, a bit of sass, it is a bit darker, a bit grittier, and a really absorbing read. Can’t wait for the continuation of the story in the next book.
A very intense erotic read from Ms. Carter... and it's the first of three. A world made up of alphas, betas, and omega with alphas dominating the top of the ladder. Fate played dirty with Neve when ex Robert changed from beta to alpha and abandoned her to a penniless existence by a decree from Alpha Council that their marriage wasn't valid. But her inner strength enabled her to barely survive. She interviews for a PA job not knowing her dual bosses, Mason and Dante, 20 years younger than her 45 and the pair had a romantic interest for since forever. Now both see their chance at making her their very own. This first issue sets an intense stage for office seduction. More will follow with this ending wondering what will become of the missing Neve. An ARC via Bookfunnel that I'm willing writing.
It is an omega verse story about an alpha-bonded pair of brothers Dante and Mason; and a beta Neve who is recently abandoned by her ex husband. The world is unfair towards betas and omegas and all the power resides with alphas.
Neve is at the last resort for job before she is forced to be homeless. She applies for a PA job at this security company where she meets these ole neighbour boys who grew up near her old house.
Dante and Mason have always liked Neve and have hots for her since they were boys. Now that they’re all grown up they would love to ‘claim’ her.
The old woman, young male trope is done pretty well - due to the pnr quality of the story basically. Ends on cliffhanger and I’m dying to read the next book.
Full of smut, hot scenes and it’s so short but fun!
🖤 “She was ours. She just didn’t know it yet.” ~~~ I love omegaverse stories and this one is absolutely fantastic!
I loved all the characters so much! Neve with her strength to live in a world dominated by alphas and deal with everything life throws her way, and the bravery to stand up for herself. Mason and Dante - two magnificently dominant, protective and possessive alphas with a fierce determination to claim what is theirs. The chemistry between the three was amazing and the passion they shared - so deliciously steamy! The story might be short but it’s intense and hot and it’s definitely the start of something magnificent!
I just couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it! Can’t wait to see how the story will continue in the next two parts!
Beta wolf shifter Neve was in a bad mating when her husband followed the hype and took the drug Representine in order to turn him into an Alpha so he could quickly drop and replace her, leaving her with nothing. Desperate for a job she goes for a PA job although she never expected it to be for Alpha shifters Mason and Dante, the young and handsome alphas who have haunted her dreams for years. Now she is at their beck and call.
This novella-length book is the first of a three-part story. It was a good introduction to the story and I can tell it is going to be fairly dark with some BDSM like thoughts already in their minds. Easy to read and understand. It was suitably dramatic in places and definitely ended up on a cliffhanger to make me want to know more. Contains some sexual content.
I didn't know this was in parts... I'm so mad I didn't realise it before at the end!!!
Short read now I'm not going to read the next one, because I seriously can't see the point of putting such a short book into parts like that and it wasn't that exciting a read that it pulls at me to buy the next, so it's limited how many errors I could find. But... one thing stuck out on page 60. When she has problems getting into her work PC, and one of the alphas says, "This system can be a little finicky at times. It's all the firewalls against hacking. Has to have multiple encryption levels to protect our clients." This is a very generic way of thinking. Several firewalls don't help to enhance security.
Spicy indeed. This short novella starts off the relationship between Neve and her Alpha bosses.
An older woman, younger men situation, Neve was married before as a Beta to another Beta hiwer he had ambitions for higher things to and with a drug able to reassign him as an Alpha, she was chased out left in the cold with nothing.
With the rent short a job she must find and when the agency sets an interview with Alpha Security, the last thing she expects is the two Alphas at the helm who she would be working under.
A good start, part of a series and a foray into the Omegaverse for this hot steamy number.
This is a different world than what I am used to for Mina Carters books but I was instantly hooked. Being a Beta was perfect, until her world completely changed when her husband became an Alpha. Now on her own, she needs to get a job soon if she wants to keep a roof over her head.
This is a quick story that introduces you to the characters and what their lives are like individually and how they come together after years of being apart. It is absolutely amazing.
I am looking forward to what Mina has in store for us in this world and really hope we can see many more books in this universe.
The story is hot, which is why one reads Ms Carter's books. The said thing is that : 1 its to short. 2 just as you get into it it stops, and 3. Did I mention it was too short?. I gave it a 4 basically because it seemed to me it needed a little more something. Background on the characters, more lead to orgasm central, something not sure what. I've purchased all 3 ASC and sincerely hope Ms Carter writes more on the agency, I liked to see Bane have some fun i n full novel, not in a novella, just hope she understands cliffhangers suck
Neve's husband had thrown her away once he went to Representine and became an Alpha he no longer wants a Beta and when she didn't want to try and change to an Omega, he had her leave. Neve is trying to move on with her life and when she goes for a job interview, she finds herself in front of two domineering Alpha's she knew when they were kinds. Mason and Dante are all grown up now and it takes her breath away. When these two take in her scent they know that she is there's. They have wanted her since they were kinds obsessively watching her. Even though she is only a beta they want to claim her in every way possible. Will they get to claim her?
