The tough-as-nails Harrison sisters must confront their darkest fears in this explosive series finale: Heroes and Hellfire.
KELSEY: Kelsey’s romantic life has seen better days, but she can no longer sit on the fence, debating between the two men who mean the most to her. But while distracted by her personal drama, the cartel slips past enemy lines—kidnapping one of their own.
CHARLIE: Charlie’s sick and tired of her sister Kelsey bossing her around. And everyone calling her by her nickname—Kid—doesn’t help. But when Mr. Tricky attacks again, she’ll wish she’d listened.
Heroes and Hellfire spins a wild ride of humor, friendship, and heartbreaking danger in the final book of the Kelsey's Burden series!
This book was a great ending to the most amazing series! These characters are the best and each story in this series develops more and more until you move everyone!
Honestly, this was super disappointing. I hated the dual POV's. As I explained in my review for book 8, I do not like Charlie. She was my least favorite character and having to deal with her POV did not change that opinion at all. Really just confirmed it. The only parts I loved about this was Kelsey being her take-charge kick-butt self again. And I love that she finally kicks that butt-hat jerk Grady to the curb, even if she is too nice about it. (Yes, I completely swooned over him several books back, until he royally eff'd up with Sebrina!) I'm so sad that this series ended, but even sadder that I had to end it by being subjected to Charlie. I couldn't be as generous with my stars this time. Too much I didn't care for: Charlies pov, Gradys crud, and the abrupt not-real-ending. Yes, I know these characters are in the Davina series (I actually have been reading that series first and so far absolutely LOVE it.) But I feel like after all the emotions and tenseness this series put me through, it deserved a better end...
I've Never written a review before, Just leave stars, But I felt compelled to leave one. Kaylie Hunter is/was a new author for me. I usually read my books Much spicier, but WOW, What a Series. People that you can relate to, in their feelings, decisions and regrets. I liked that each book kept giving you more background in each one. Also didn't hurt that each book is out and on KU. But they all basically wrap up at the end of each book, There's more, if interested, but not necessary. I'm not sure how to describe the entire 9 book series (Please Write More,Kaylie Hunter). The book description pretty much nails it, but if your teetering on the fence, Give it a Chance. I did and I have No Regrets, even though it's not my norm, I Throughly Enjoyed Them. I'm halfway through her other series now, in between other books. Thought it was a Great day, When I discovered This author. Hope to see New Books Soon.
Great story telling, kept me engaged from the first page of book 1 to the last page of book 9. I recently purchased all remaining books in this series as the premise is very intriguing and after reading book 1, I had to find out what happens next. At the time I am writing this review in July 2022, the series Kelsey's Burden comprises of 9 books. All the books follow on from one book to the next. Each book deals with a new part of the story and as some story arcs are completed by the end of each book, the reader gets more and more background information as the story unfolds. There are a lot of characters to keep track of but the author did a great job with giving each character their own voice. Kelsey's Burden Books 1,2,3,4,5 are not stand-alone books as they are all part of the story arc started in book 1. Book 6,7,8 and 9 follow on from this story arc and according to the author Book 9 is the end. Some reviewers are not happy with the ending but for me the story ending was as good as it could be. Be aware this series is intended for adult readers as it deals with adult themes.
This book, the anticipated conclusion left me so unimpressed! This was Charlie's book, but it wasn't enough on her captivity or her capture... The drama with Kels and her guys was lacking as well... An epilogue would have been nice... I don't know I feel like we were nipped on this last installment! I kept falling asleep during my 5 in a half hour read of this finale!😕😕 it's sad because I loved loved loved all the other books plus the 2 standalones!
I love books with take charge, strong women and this series has that in spades. These books are filled with drama and adventure, page turning excitement. I loved the entire series and also read the two stand alone books by this author and loved them also. I am definitely a Kaylie Hunter fan and am anticipating the next books to come.
Their were so many things going on in this book and all were exciting. To leave so much untied at the end leaving me with the WTF feeling was not cool. Especially for such a long book. What happens to Grady? Let's not forget about Spence or hell his dog beast? Don't even get ne started on Charlie. Very disappointing.
I appreciate good stories. And it was a great series to read. I personally don't like having to buy 9 books to get to the great ending. Even though I enjoy reading books that I may buy from writers like Susan Stoked and / or Kathleen Brooks. Where you have endings to the stories with each book. Overall it was a good read.
Kaylie Hunter is an amazing writer! I read every day all day and this is the best series I have ever read! It's got everything, mystery, suspense, humor and love. Could not stop reading, I had to keep going til the end. Amazing! Fantastic! Wonderful!
This is a great way to end a series. Love matters are resolved, bad guys handled, and Kelsey picks her chosen mate. Lots of issues in Charlie’s hometown are resolved. Great book, great series. Highly recommend. I hope there is a spinoff series. Charlie could start her own nest with her own security team. Here’s hoping!
I have enjoyed reading her books. I didn't care for the "free" sex or the way they they drink booze like water. I love the fact she put humor in her books. Life has humor along with seriousness. The "smarts" that it took to have that storyline...... The ending did come with a surprise. .
I enjoyed following this group, liked that the bad guys and good guys worked together for a common goal. Loved the fun people . Fun dogs which I loved. Know this is not the way the world works but enjoy the fantasy.
It was a good ending to the series lots going on,exciting read though felt Kel was being a little judgmental with Charlie both strong women, which I liked so glad Kelsey ended up with Wild Card he was the right fit for her they completed each other

I very much enjoyed the Kelsey Burden Series by author Kaylie Hunter! Kelsey is unstoppable when in pursuit of justice. She does tend to make her own rules, but if a woman needs a rescue, Kelsey and her team can do the job!
I’ve binge read every book in this series because I couldn’t get enough of this amazing crew of misfits and the mayhem they become involved in. Fabulous series and I’m sad this is the end. I’d love to keep reading more of Kelsey and ‘found family.’
This was the best series Ever. Lots of action, love, anger, intense feelings ever felt. Take a chance and read every one of these books (maybe even 2 or 3 times).
