Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy

Rate this book
It had been a serious risk to take, being implanted with Dr. Kite’s innovative mind-control microchips, heralded as the one thing that could change the lives of Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly, the three women who agreed to the process.

But that change had come at a cost to them that went far beyond what they had expected, with two of the chips defective.

Not all of the women are prepared to allow Kite to rest after his warehouse goes up in flames and he escapes.

Tracking down the rogue doctor to a small coastal town, what does Lilly have in store for him? Is it a simple case of revenge, or has Lilly seen an opportunity for herself?

Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy
by Jane Suen

I waited for this book and was so excited to read it!

The Good
The first book in this trilogy was excellent.
The second, even better as it explored parts that I felt were missing from the first one.
This last one is the finale and it ties everything together.

The Bad
The finale wasn't my favorite of all three books - but it did its job. It answered the open questions and showed the power of the chip, love, lethal attraction.

The Ugly
Ellen and her story is real and has been my favorite part of the whole book. Saying that I loved the fight and the use of Steve. That was a fun, yet shady good point of the story.

All in all what a fantastic series. In a box set, this would be a 5 star for me.
As a stand-alone, the last part of the series made me hungry for prequels and sequels and spin-offs!

4 Stars - My review is also on my blog Six Tinder Weeks and on Goodreads

Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy
By: Jane Suen
5 out of 5 stars

The story Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy is a thrilling book that will keep you guessing on what is going to happen next. The story is told from the POV of several of the characters. The book had me hooked from the very beginning and quickly turning pages. The series should be read in order as the storyline picks up from one book to the next. How does life work out for Gigi, Ellen, Lilly, and Dr. Kite? Will love and happiness be found by the three women? What does the future have in store for Dr. Kite? Read this book to find out. There are parts that are heartwarming and others that left me speechless. The book is quite fast paced and had me lost in the pages. I loved reading about the three characters of Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly in each of the stories. They are three strong and independent women. This is a well-written third and final book in a trilogy that I found to be just amazing. I have enjoyed reading this series by the author and look forward to reading more from her in the future.

A deserving finale for the series! The book is still following the same characters and microchips, but ties things together in an adequate manner. Is this the last we have heard of mad scientists testing on innocent humans? I doubt it. I think Suen has another ace up her sleeve still.

I will say this short read made me hungry - there is a lot of food in it: pancakes, eggs(multiple ways), toast, fish, okra, clams, coffee...

Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen

Sitting here staring at the screen wondering what words to use to review this book, this series, and this author…

I've said it before and I will repeat...You absolutely never know what your going to get when you read one of this authors books, but the one thing you can always count on is you will read the last page and say to yourself...Wow, or something similar.

This series was quick when you rate it on the amount of pages contained in it as a whole, but when you rate it on content it seemed like so much more...This last installment had me reading so fast I caught myself tripping over the words and making myself slow down so that I could savor every second of it. What an amazing storyline from start to finish, so creative and addictive and I can not wait to go back and read it all over again, but this time back to back.

I'm not going to go into the specifics of the story….It needs to be read and mentioning anything here will take away from the other books in this series...Read it..In order, I dare anyone to read this and not sit in total awe of this author and then sit at different spots during the story contemplating your own thoughts about what your reading!!

Ok Miss Jane Suen, I've read all of your books, and I want more...You are an amazing story teller and I can not wait to see where you take us next!! But rest assured I'll be one of the first in line to find out!

Brilliant!!

I am so sad to see this trilogy come to an end. It is bittersweet because I was excited to find out how this would all come together, yet I didn’t want it to end. I can only hope that the ‘loose ends’ that Suen left us with will mean a potential spin-off series in the near future. When I first discovered Jane Suen I was looking for something different at the time from my typical romance happy ending storylines. I got so much more than I was even expecting then, and Suen has continued to reel me in and bring me back for more. I love that nothing from her is typical or expected. Definitely not predictable, and that makes for some great reading material! I chose to read this novel on a cool and rainy day under the covers with some hot tea, and it was the perfect way to spend my afternoon.

Given that this is the third book in a trilogy, I would highly recommend that you read books one, Alterations. Followed by book two, Game Changer. I would do so before you read this one, and this review. Inevitably there will be spoilers from previous novels, but I will do my best to keep them minimal.

This trilogy has been centered on three women and the man that links them all together with his ‘mad science’. This will pick up right where we left off in Game Changer. The women are coming full circle now and this is kind of an update as to where the characters are. Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly are finding where they belong in this world. Dr. Kite is along for the ride as well and we get more of the multiple POV’s which enriches the story. This is a fast and short read, mostly tying up the loose ends if you will from the previous two books. I was left hanging with a few questions, but like I said, I can only hope that means that a spin-off series is in the works or could be in the works. Overall, I was really happy with how the trilogy played out. I enjoyed the themes of self-discovery, dystopian worlds, romance, and so much more being woven throughout each novel. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Jane Suen!!

Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen was the perfect conclusion to this gritty, dark look into that quick fix we all crave.

A quick read like the other two books, it picks up right were the last left off. Following again our three woman, we get some closer on their lives and, we get some happy ending that melts the heart. Being that this is super quick, I'm not going to say any more then that, because this series needs to be read in succession. And I don't want to ruin any of the mystery, or darkness that lurks in Dr. Kite's experiments.

I will say that there is one loose end that wasn't quite addressed, but I believe that if needed too, a spin off could fix that, and with a series like this, I find leaving somethings left opened, adds to the mystery and realism.

Overall I loved this series, it had like I said, a dark grittiness to it that draws you in. The split POV between all the main MC's, made you feel like a fly on the wall, but at the same time, you weren't getting everything. Just glimpse of their lives, who they are, and why they needed to be "fixed" in the first place. There is a clear message, nothing is ever a quick fix, you need to want to change and put in the work. The mind is a funny thing, Dr. Kite finds that out the hard way.

I give this book, and this series my super high recommendation. It's one of those reads that gets your mind thinking, gets your heart pumping and, gets you wondering about what's would happen if you were in their shoes.

Happy Reading

Primal Will is the third and final book in the Alterations series by Jane Suen. This has been such a great series to read- packing such a lot into a fairly short space. I am a little sad to say goodbye to these characters, and the intriguing story that was woven around them. But, I think that there was a detail that was not yet settled- so I am hoping that this may because Ms. Suen plans to release more books that will explore this, as in a spin-off series or in a companion book series… I am holding out hope. This is a fast paced read that is full of intrigue, suspense, drama, some mystery, great character development, and a gripping storyline.
We pick up with Ellen, Gigi, Lilly, and Dr. Kite again- and I have to say that Ms. Suen did a fantastic job of choreographing all the elements from the first two books, to finally culminate in this book- without losing any of the momentum, suspense, grittiness- or the unpredictable nature of the story. She still managed to surprise me with the developments. What will the future hold for them all? Will they finally find the happiness that they’ve each been searching for? What of Dr. Kite and his ‘experiments’?
A unique and intriguing story/series- and I look forward to seeing what Ms. Suen does next.

Thank you, Ms. Suen!

I give Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen, 4 stars.
*This review contains spoilers from the first two books in the series.*

Lilly has been bent on revenge against Dr Kite for a long time. She has groomed one of her women just for his destruction. But when she comes face to face with what he is now, will she be able to do it?

Ellen has been confronted by Brad and revealed that Angie is in fact his daughter. What now? Could this be happily ever after? Or will it result in devastation?

Gigi was living what she thought was a perfect life for her. Then the love of her life reveals just how sick he really is. Not to mention she has to face the fact that she has been keeping secrets from him. What now?

This is the conclusion to the trilogy and I think it was done so well. Everything was wrapped up, with all of the characters having a believable ending to their stories. I have to admit, it wasn't what I expected for some of them, but that made me like it even more. Well written, I could not put it down until I knew just how it ended.

Every one of these books were different in my opinion, which makes this series even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this book and series to everyone.

Primal Will is the third and final book in the Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen. It picks up where book 2 leaves off, so it cannot be read as a stand alone book. The story alternates between point of views, each chapter seeing a different person's story, that all meet together in the end. We get to see things panned out for Gigi, Ellen, Lilly and Dr Kite, as well as how their stories intertwined.

I have enjoyed all the books I have read by Suen, but they often leave me wanting more. After three books in the series, it didn't end the way I hoped or expected. I thought it was all leading up to something more, and left me feeling confused and a little disappointed. I was anticipating a huge twist at the end, and didn't get that. Seeing others reviews, most people loved the conclusion, so perhaps there is something I'm missing or didn't catch on to. Even with that being said, I recommend this series, and all of Suen's books. They often take you to a place you never imagined, emotionally and though provoking. The book was quite short, but moves quickly and is filled with raw content, without much filler. I love that, because it is a good story, that can be enjoyed quickly. I often loose interest in books over 300 pages. 4 star book for me.

Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy
By Jane Suen
4 stars

I have eagerly been waiting for the final book in this trilogy just to find out what was going to happen with Dr Kite! Throughout all of the stories he is the one I have been most intrigued with – is he trying to do good or is he actually manipulative and evil? I think that he is one of those characters where you kind of have to make up your own mind about him. I will say that I did see a slight different side to him in this story and I think that everything came full circle for all of the characters involved. It was a brilliant ending to this trilogy. There were still some great twists and turns in the story too and I am always amazed at how the author manages to get everything in to around 100 pages! She really is a fantastic writer!!
One thing I will say is that these books absolutely cannot be read out of order, the story is continual.
Overall I thought that this was a great ending to the trilogy and I highly recommend it!

Primal Will by Jane Suen is the third book in her Alterations Trilogy. A unique series these books are sure to keep you captivated. They are best read in order as the story follows the same characters throughout.
Gigi, Ellen and Lilly all found their lives to be entirely changed after having a chip implanted into them - and not in the ways they expected. Wit two of the chips defective the effects can definitely be felt. With Dr Kite in the run Lilly manages to track him down. However, it might not be for the reasons you would expect - revenue might not be all she is thinking.

This story continues with Gigi, Ellen and Lilly’s story, and what a story it has been so far. The book, like the previous two, has been a unique concept for me and has been so interesting to read about. With their lives completely turned around the three women have had so much to deal with, and this story only brings yet more. This book has been just as good as the rest and has been a great addition to the series. Well written, this whole trilogy is worth your time.

Primal Will (Book 3 in the Alterations Trilogy)
Jane Suen
4 out of 5 stars

Jane Suen is a writer I’ve come to really enjoy, each piece of writing I’ve read has been so different from the last all while staying true to the elements that make Jane Suen an addicting writer. I feel as though she has this incredible ability to craft a relatively short story with a huge punch in a manner that’s almost subtle and poetic. After the story has come to an end you find yourself (or at least I do) with a “hmm, I see what she did there, wow” type attitude.
From the very first book I have loved the Alterations series, it’s face paced, short, entertaining and above all else, thought provoking. There aren’t too many things I will say about Primal Will and the story itself, just that it was a conclusion I’m satisfied with. I recommend this series wholeheartedly but to enjoy it as intended you must start at the very beginning.

Primal Will by Jane Suen

5-stars

Primal Will by Jane Suen is absolutely an unforgettable suspense read! It’s the third and final book in the Alterations trilogy, a series that is not meant to be read as a standalone, so I would highly recommend reading it in order as each new book follows directly where the last one left off.

This was a shorter read, just like the first two books, and I was able to read it in one sitting. Not only due to the length but because Jane Suen writes with such detail that it’s so easy to jump right in exactly where you left off. This is truly a one of a kind storyline that had me guessing the whole way through and sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.

I would absolutely recommend this book and series to others, it’s one that should not be missed!

Primal Will by Jane Suen will not disappoint you in the very least. I love trilogy. I can only hope that there will be a spin off. This is the third book and to make this more enjoyable you need to read Alterations (Book 1) and Game Changer (Book 2). Jane Suen has a way to grab you from the very beginning and keeps you going to the end and beyond. There is a roller coaster ride for you emotionally and mentally. I know I found myself screaming at my kindle. The three women Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly have gone through many trials and tribulations by the hand of Dr. Kite. The girls have a chance of being happy and maybe even fall in love but will they is the question that needs to be answered. Will they be able to have justice for what Dr. Kite had done to them? You will need to read the book to find out this and more.

Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen os the last book in the trilogy and a quick read short read but one that pulls a punch. The story picks up right where the last left us so I highly recommend you read the first two books in this series, which are also short reads, to make sure you know what is going on because you will find yourself lost with who the characters are and what is going on. Jane's writing style and her plots keep you engaged every step of the way. Dr Kite is in the forefront of the story once again but is he still evil or will he trade it in a become Mr Nice?
To find out you will just have to read this trilogy. I wonder what Jane has in store for us next.

Primal Will
Book 3 of the
Alterations Trilogy
By Jane Suen
☆☆☆☆☆
This is not a standalone. You must read the first 2 books, first, of this trilogy. Romance and suspense are just a few of the things you will find in this series.

Lilly, Gigi and Ellen are all very strong women. All of which take a chance on the microchips. Their lives have all changed, but was it for the best? You will need to finish the trilogy. So much will happen to all of them.

Jane Suen has written a fantastic trilogy. So much of this story was unexpected. I am so happy with her choice of characters. She represents each as strong willed, and voided the sympathy cards. I just love this story. No spoilers here!!! Thank you Jane Suen for this trilogy! So worth the read! Looking forward to your next adventure.

A Brilliant Conclusion to an Unusual Tale

After a brief summary of where Gigi, Ellen, and Lilli have found themselves at the end of the previous book, Primal Will picks up where Game Changer left off and charges straight into the fast-paced storytelling that is a hallmark of Jane Suen’s Alterations Trilogy.

It’s hard to explain why I enjoyed the finale of this series without giving away spoilers, but it wraps up the story in an unexpected and thoroughly satisfying way. If you’ve been wondering what happens to the coldly scheming Dr. Kite and the women who received his experimental microchips, then look no further– Primal Will delivers just as many twists and turns as the first two books, plus a stunning conclusion!

This trilogy is a MUST read. Each book is about 100 pages so you can rip through the whole trilogy in no time at all. They should NOT be read out of order.

There is so much to say about the amazingness of this series. The quick, information filled chapters. The visualization from the writing. The believability of the desired situations. It was fascinating to read.

Every letter, every word, every paragraph and every character moved this story along. It was told in such a minimalistic style yet is so full bodied. I felt it had an important moral and I was pleased with how it ended.

This is in my top 3 trilogies that I've read. I 100% recommend it to everyone.

This is the interesting conclusion to the Alterations trilogy. Each book is a short but interesting read. Primal Will has a slightly twisted ending. But that’s one of Suen’s trait; she always leaves you wondering about not only your life but life in general. She makes you question what you just read.

The 3 main women characters return from the first two books to finish their stories and to hopefully, find their happily ever afters. Dr. Kite returns too, but his ending is a little less than happy.

Suen’s writing keeps you engaged and turning pages. Then she has you looking for her next book!

Primal Will by Jane Suen is the third and final book in the Alterations series. The conclusion of the story did not let me down. I recommend reading these in order because one story flows to the next. I was really curious as to how Gigi, Lilly, and Ellen would handle their experiences of being subjects of Dr. Kite. Each of the women had a different experience but still had after effects to handle. Dr. Kite is on the run. Will the women allow Kite to run and hide? I like that each of the women are different from one another but with this common thread in their lives. They are strong and a bit fierce. I'm glad to have read the entire series and go on this adventure.

Jane Suen's Primal Will is the third book within the Alterations trilogy. This is a science fiction/fantasy/psychological novella featuring a story that will push your concept of what is possible and real versus what could be possible beyond our imaginations. This trilogy has focused on three women who sought change that has had unexpected results, whether ones they can live with or ones they live to regret. The author did an fine job in bringing a conclusion to this trilogy edging the line on what to expect and what could possible be forthcoming. I found this trilogy unique and quite enjoyed how Jane Suen tied this series together.

Primal Will is the third book in the Alterations trilogy by Jane Suen. This trilogy must be read in order to understand what is going on. I love how Ms. Suen packs so much drama and suspense into a hundred pages. Once you start reading you will not be able to put this book down. The story continues for Ellen, Gigi, Lilly and Dr. Kite. In this installment you will find out if these women finally find their Happily Ever After or even closure. You will also have insight into how Dr. Kite’s mind works. I have to say this is one of my favorite trilogies that I have read. If you are looking for intrigue and suspense this is the series you should read.

I enjoyed reading the first two books in the series, but the last installment was probably the best! It picks up from where book two left off, and every page is full of suspense as Lilly and Steve Cosine, the investigator, are closing in on the infamous Dr. Kite. I also enjoyed reading about Gigi and Ellen and was glad to see that each found their happiness after all the turmoil. I was wondering about how Ms. Suen would resolve Dr. Kite’s situation and also found it to be just perfect, given the circumstances. Overall, the entire trilogy was a thrilling, suspenseful ride and I’m glad I came across it. Each book is a five-star read!

This is the third book in this series, it is as enjoyable as the first two. I highly suggest reading the previous two books before this one as you will be lost with the characters and where they have been. I enjoy this author's writing style as she makes me feel as if I am right there with the characters. Her characters are enjoyable and I love these women, Gigi, Lilly and Ellen. They took me on a suspenseful, mystery journey that left me on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this book

You definitely see a growth and change in these characters throughout every book. Even though there are many POVs they all connect in someway. The author did really well keeping the story going and developing it in an unpredictable way. You get an understanding of why he developed the chip and how everyone is coping with it. I think Lucy is the only one not coping in a healthy way. Her need for revenge is clouding her future. Overall I enjoyed this story the most. Mostly I enjoyed how far the characters have come over this series.

This story is the third and final story in the Alterations trilogy. Like the other two stories, I enjoyed this story, and I loved getting resolution for all of the characters. Also like the other stories, this was a quick, fun book. There were a few surprises that I personally loved, and I think that everyone who has read this trilogy will too. Ellen has been my favorite character since the beginning, and she still is. However, Gigi and Lilly have great stories, and I enjoyed their stories as much as Ellen’s story.

I really enjoyed the third book in the series as the author took the story in quite unexpected directions. You will be pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I couldn't help a smile on my face as the stories of the three ladies, Gigi, Ellen and Lilly unfolded. I would not have predicted any of these events. Did Dr. Kite get what he deserved or did he redeem himself? You should read to find out. This was certainly a fast and enjoyable read.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Since they’re each only ~100 pages, I urge you to read the first two books in this series (ALTERATIONS and GAME CHANGER), then read PRIMAL WILL – for you to experience from beginning to end this incredibly thought-provoking medical, psychological, techno thriller involving Dr. Kite, Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly…. After finishing the series, you might find yourself wanting to ask the next reader, “What do you think?”
