A gripping story of love and loss which will have readers enthralled as they follow the fortunes of Betty, Phoebe and Ivy. Phoebe Horwat finally discovers the shocking truth about what happened to the baby she was forced to give away thirty three years ago and the fate of her long lost lover the handsome Father Edmund Roberts and her life is changed forever; secrets come to light which will rock Phoebe's world challenging everything she believed to be true.
Ivy Benson and Billy Thomas have fallen deeply in love, but can Ivy ever really throw off the stain of being wicked Jimmy Benson's widow and find happiness, and what will happen to her disabled daughter June?
As Betty wisely observes "nothing good or bad lasts for ever," but this can be both a blessing and a curse and sometimes the past comes back to haunt you. Gritty, heart breaking and tender, Counting Raindrops follows the ongoing saga of the entwined lives of Betty, Phoebe and Ivy and the quest for true love and happiness on the tough streets of Cardiff in the 1950's.
This is the 3rd book in The Streets of Cardiff and they are all a good read. The family life is portrayed in such a way that you are actually living it with them. I hope that Anne Main writes a 4th book because I want to know what happens to Ivy, Betty, and Phoebe.
GOOD story although a bit far fetched. Some very bad grammar, words missing. Apostrophes used in wrong places and commas used where not necessary also some spelling mistakes. Was there no proof reader?
