Do it again.
Here's a good one for readers who like a bit of BDSM in their butch/femme eroticas.
Brook and Whisper used to play together and they meet again two years later a a friends-giving dinner. Brook thinks they can be friends, but when Whisper dares Brook to spend twenty-four hours with her... Ok wow, the sex is something definitely worth mentioning. Not only were there lots (and lots!) of hot, steamy sex, there was a variety. Each time they hooked up, the author got super creative and for me, this kept it interesting.
This book is too short for a full-length novel and because of that the story ended up being simplified. But I'm happy that this story isn't all about sex. It still has a second chance storyline and some character development mostly on Brook's part. Brook and Whisper didn't work out the first time around due to Brook's issues and her inability to communicate. But this time around, they actually have a real shot because they communicate their needs, desires and feelings very well.
Sure, the I-love-yous came a bit too fast, before their relationship was fully explored but this still is an entertaining read. And incredibly hot.

Well, that was a whole lot of sex! This is definitely more erotica than romance. Sure, there's a hint of romance, but the relationship is very much based on the sexual tension between the heroines.

When ex girlfriends Brook and Whisper meet again at a party of a friend both (especially not Brook) don’t expect that the night would end in a dare that will mean spending 24 hours together.
Brook has closed herself off from everyone and everything around her since the break-up and only concentrated on her business. But as much as she tried the chemistry between her and Whisper is still there. Whisper on the other hand just works for a living and enjoys other things including other women.
The time they spend together is very hot and includes some bdsm. We get to know why they split up and and all about Brooks insecurities about her body. It’s where I was able to relate to very much. I just loved how the topic was woven into the story and how Whisper handles it in such a gentle way. We definitely need more body books like that because there are definitely not enough around. There is also an age-gap of several years between them that Brook also struggles a bit with.
Otherwise the book is too short to reveal a lot about the characters backgrounds. We get to know some things and I definitely loved what we got to see. They are both very interesting and I assume with lots of depths. I say assume because I think we only got to see the surface of everything. The book would have been needed to be longer to show more of them. Especially about Whisper we don’t get to know more and I would have loved to know more of her. Because the book is just a bit longer than a novella I‘m fine with it and think it’s great when the author gets you to wanna continue reading and learn more about the characters. And omg to all the lovers of the heat department I promise you will be very happy with this story.
Last but not least I loved that Jerica is once more one of the side characters. Everyone that also has read About Time will remember her. This leaves me hoping she gets her own story at some point. And I think the chances are actually high after some remarks in the book. 😊

A Kindle Unlimited holiday romance that was just what I needed. So sexy and delicious. Whisper, a younger soft butch lesbian who's been pining for Brooke, the woman who got away, for two years makes a pact to give Brooke everything Whisper knows she can for 24 hours. Another chance. But can Brooke open up her heart this time, or will this yet again be Whisper being in love with a woman who doesn't want love?
Lovely BDSM dynamics, praise, lingerie, toys, light bondage and spanking. This is a longer story, with a lot of steamy scenes, but I felt they all served to move the plot along. It was great seeing these two negotiate trust, both in and out of the bedroom, with their truth or dare game.

Second chance f/f Christmas romance! This was sweet, though more on the erotica side. I don't usually love second chance romances, but I think this was well done. Brook and Whisper were an item two years ago, but their mostly sexual relationship didn't work out, despite how much chemistry they had, because Whisper wanted to be more romantically involved and Brook was very hesitant. Now, after meeting up at a mutual friend's party and spending 24 hours together because of a dare, they've rekindled their old flame, and things continue from there. I like how they kept using truth or dare to probe deeper, and understand the things that didn't work in the past. I found both characters really interesting, especially Brook, who is older and career-focused and a bit closed off. I just have a soft spot for characters like that finding romance. <3 It was really steamy and pretty fun overall, and I appreciated that it took a more than surface level look at the characters.
As can be the case with a lot of BDSM romances, some of the smut just wasn't really my speed, and because there was a fair bit of smut, I did skim a teensy bit. But I really enjoyed and appreciated how careful Whisper always was with Brook, and how she never neglected to ask for and confirm consent, remind Brook of her safe word, and always did great aftercare. Some of the writing was a little clumsy, though nothing I'd call bad. And I guess it's a stretch to call this a Christmas romance; it's a romance that takes place around Christmas time, but doesn't really have any holiday vibes.
Still recommend it, if you're in the mood for something sexy and relatively low-angst. Kudos.

Brook and Whisper reunited at a party held by a mutual friend. They used to be lovers but something happened a couple of years ago. Since then, Brook focused on her business. They had a tumultuous relationship which is revealed slowly as the story develops. The first half of the novel felt like it was mostly made up of steamy sex scenes. (If you don’t like BDSM scenes, you may not want to read this.) I often skip over the sexy scenes, but these were compelling because they showed the trust between the two women as well as developing how they felt about each other.
As the story went along, their past was gradually shown in small bits, well as Brook’s insecurity about her looks. Whisper, who fell in love with her before, wanted to guard her heart this time around, so there was some reluctance from both to continue with a relationship. However, the pull was stronger. This is an interesting story of how two women learn to trust each other and fall in love again.

Hoping that all this time will allow her her and Whisper to be able to exist in the same room again. Whisper is awaiting Brook’s arrival at Friends-Giving after not seeing her for two years. She has been updated on Brook, that all she does is work and stays home most of the time. Not dating and basically not living. Tonight she is going to do something to test Brook. They were able to chat with each other but with a blonde hanging on Whisper, who is still busy flirting with Brook, things turn during a game of Truth or Dare. The story reveals itself to their personalities. There are things that go on that I do not want to put in a review. It is such a straight forward of one persons attempt to free Brook from herself while not falling deeper in love than she already is. That is what torn them apart the first time. This was a surprisingly good read. I am fast becoming a fan of this writer.

This book is a great one to read if you are interested in BDSM and erotica. I enjoyed the dynamic between Brook and Whisper, it flowed and was realistic. Their previous dalliance didn’t end well for either one of them but for different reasons. Playing truth and dare gets them back together and communicating in a different light than before. I liked how their communication unfolds and how each of their vulnerability is shown. Adrian does get creative with her sex scenes and I appreciated this because each was unique and it just wasn’t the same thing repeated over and over again. The dialogue between the two main characters during their ‘scenes’ was well written. The relationship dynamics and issues are relatable. It is a great story, well written and lots of spiciness throughout. Adrian dared to go there and brought out the truth between Brook and Whisper and only had to use her printer once, well done.

This author never disappoints. Second chance, age gap, and some BDSM activities. And to me the most important story line is love. Brooke is insecure. Worried with body image and being older. But through it all Whisper just loves her. Whisper's love is so strong, you can feel it. I have enjoyed all of Adrian's books, but this is extra special. I have already read it twice. Enjoy. I did receive an ARC but volunteer my review.

Two years ago Brook walked away from Whisper when she told Brook she loved her. She's missed her friends Thanksgiving (Friends giving) party until this year, hoping she wouldn't see Whisper. But she did and during a game of Truth or Dare she ends up spending 24 hrs with Whisper.
Whisper is her soft butch dominixtrix. This is such a HOT book. A beautiful love story too. 5 stars!

Complex women, beautiful hot romance
This was my first Adrian Smith book but what an introduction! Brook is a complex character with multiple issues holding her back from enjoying life. Whisper is her ex who never stopped loving her.
Brook sees through Whisper's eyes how the issues in her past, she assumes to be major, are really able to be overcome when supported by love.
The story has sex and scene based BDSM. Both underline and flow with the storyline. As a result, I'd classify it as hot romance, not erotica, and I loved it! I would like to hear more about these complex women!

A really steamy novella. Good lawd, authors can be really creative 🥵
The BDSM bit was medium I'd say (literally speaking) but the hit was lava hot. The romance aspect was a bit, just a tiny bit underwhelming, BUT quite realistic if I'm being honest. I say underwhelming because Brooke was emotionally unavailable up to I don't know 85% or 90% of the story and I didn't see how suddenly she was willing to say what she said by the end so "easily". Would it be possible if the book was longer? I think so. But I didn't think she did the leg work to change it so soon. Did this make this story bad? NO! Far from it, just took from it being even better, IMHO.

A hot story
I’m not normally a reader of the second chance troupe, but I enjoyed this book. In my opinion, it was a good representation of a BDSM relationship including hard and soft limits, planning playtime in advance, the wants and needs of the participants. The sex scenes were hot and varied.

December 26, 2021dnf at 30%. i think a lot of people will like this, it's a sapphic second chance novella that is really steamy and set around Christmas, so if you're looking for something like that, you should check it out (it's on KU). but I'm just absolutely not in the mood for it and it's just not for me right now, might go back to it next Christmas, we'll see.

A very good book
This is the second book I’ve read of Ms. Smith’s this week. Great characters and dialogue. Both of the main characters are likable. A little flawed but isn’t everyone. Great ending.

This is a good read, age gap, second chance BDSM romance. Sometimes things are too good to give up and Brook and Whisper reconnect on a dare and it heats up from there.

I will start off with I never give five stars, So this book got the highest rating. It was a wild ride. I don't read much F/F books, and this one didn't disappoint. The only problem is that the name Whisper rubs me the wrong way, and I'll not hold that against the author. I would read this book if you like romance, even if you are not into F/F books.
