My son enjoyed this book more than I did, which makes sense - I don't think I'm the target audience. The best part was reading it together, and having the chance to use lots of different voices while we read!

Aivan kuten arvelinkin Junen saatua oman kirjan, myös Quint ja Dirk pääsivät sooloilemaan. Quint opettelee käyttämään toisen ulottuvuuden magiaa, joka tunnetaan meidän ulottuvuudessamme tieteenä (mutta näyttää silti yhtä vaikuttavalta kuin magia). Another great book in the series! I loved the adventure that focused on Quint and Dirk, especially since they don't get a ton of individual focus in the earlier books. I'm constantly impressed with Brallier's ability to create standalone characters that you instantly love and engage with. Excited to read book 8!

This was okay. Probably a step up from the last one with the disastrous election, but still lacking in a lot of very meaningful ways. Quint and Dirk struggle to be protagonists. They hurt Dirk's character with that whole Drooler thing. Is it a dog? Is it a baby? Is it another friend? He had a neat arc with his dad, and they threw that away to give him a stuffed animal that makes slime.

Quint seems to have no emotional buy-in at all. His entire character is basically studying really hard for a test . . . The whole magic situation doesn't fit his character but they never really abandon it, nor steer into it. Quint is typically my favorite character, but this one removes any loveable element to Quint.

I didn't mind Kimmy, but the Melon guy (I can't even remember his name how sad is that?) is trying far too hard to be funny. He isn't funny, it doesn't make sense as to why he is even here.

The plot is fine I guess . . . It's not really moving anywhere. I thought we were on some kind of time crunch but that seems to have been abandoned for more of a monster of the week feel.

Unfortunately, the artwork doesn't lend itself well to random monsters of the week. All lines and shadows make the monsters all look alike.

This thing was okay, but I wish they would move it along. Now it feels like we're just milking a cash cow.

Quint and Dirk have gotten zapped to a different location from their friends after Quint's attempt at using his magical staff opens a rip in space in addition to helping deal with some bad guys. Now Quint and Dirk find themselves on a side quest to deal with a drakkor terrorizing a group of creatures who live in the set of one of their favorite movie series and rescue some queen along the way. They have a new group to team up with for this quest, the incredibly upbeat Kimmy and the shady supposed-sorcerer Galamelon who says he'll teach Quint all he needs to know but Dirk has his doubts. Can Quint master the staff? Can Dirk and Drooler do what they do best in this new quest? Will they ever see their friends again?

I liked that Quint and Dirk run into an old friend on this. The quest gets better after this person shows up. I felt like the beginning of this was slower than normal, but maybe it was just me. I know some kids who are going to go bananas as soon as they see this on the shelves. It's a very popular series here.

This book was the bomb!!!!!! I am so glad that Quint and Dirk got there own book, I absolutely love these two characters MEEP oh and I love you to drooler! I also really like the new characters Kimmy and Galamelon all though Galamelon is a tool. Kimmy is absolutely great and she brings so much to this book. I love her witty attitude and her abilities, this is a great character and then there is GALAMELON!!!! He is the most annoying character and gives Quint a lot of self doubt because of his stupid used car dealership attitude!!! Good thing Dirk is a good friend!! But Galamelon dose bring a lot of good things to the book so I will let it slide! Also I thought the inclusion of Skaelka being the queen of armor was great!!!! ( I hope rover is okay) This was a great and funny book I can’t wait for the Forbidden Fortress and the crew to get back together in book 8!

I was super excited by the title. I just wish it was in first person; other than that, this book was great. I'm getting tired of Jack, AND June. I had a lot of fun with this book. I'm glad they made a book about Quint and Dirk. This book was pretty funny too, this would be a good starter book. (After you read all the other 8 or 9 books.

I have to say this episode is one of the bloodiest battles the boys have fought so far. I read only 11 chapters/151 pgs. and there was plenty of fighting and monsters swinging makeshift battle axes. I just couldn't go on. I think if you are a fan you will keep reading. Otherwise, it was a lot of action and lots of nasty villains to fight. I will just say recommended to the fans Grades 4-6.

This book is very good. The new characters are cool. The story of the book has no connection with the past stories . It has Notting to do with the villains in the previous last kids on Earth . The book is actually 3.5 out of five. It isn't as good as June's wild ride. It isn't the worst in the series, or isn't the best in the series

Fun side-adventure with Quint & Dirk. (And Drooler too.) Not quite as enjoyable as June's Wild Flight (which might be my favorite book in the series), mainly because Galamelon is - quite frankly - a tool.

My goblins and i enjoyed reading this book together. I think this is my favorite in terms of the artwork inside. It was fun to get to learn more about Quint as I felt the focus was on him the most. A++ for getting to learn about one of the main characters more.

This is one of my favorite books in the series. It was fast-paced action throughout. New characters were introduced which added color and dynamism to the story. It's a good move to have these "supporting characters" get their own stories.

Quent and Dirk get separated from Jack and June, in the process they have an adventure they didn’t bargain for!
