Earth is threatened by an former enemy from pre-history. Harold Unger is in charge of several exploration teams utilizing alien technology from an abandoned base deep in the Appalachian mountains of America. His mission is to both find weapons to defend all of Earth, and a place to move the population to if defense is impossible. After over a year of slow progress, Alpha Team finds someone who can accelerate all aspects of Earth's defense for a price. As the United Nations makes a major misstep, Harold is forced to concede to their benefactors request. With the enemy approaching with a war fleet primed to destroy every human on the planet, Harold and Alpha Team are beginning to find that all is not as it seems with their benefactor. As time is running out for Earth, Harold and Alpha Team must decide which is more the approaching enemy fleet or the person they have entrusted the defense of the entire planet.
