Ohmygoodness! What an amazing and satisfying end to this powerful series! I’m just in tears because it was such a sweet and perfect ending, and also because I’m having to say goodbye to New Beginnings church for now.

This book began and ended with Fiona, the extremely talented musician that we got to know so well in the first book. I was so happy when I started book 6 to find that Fiona would once again get some show time. I fell in love with her honesty and crankiness in the first book and have been hoping to see more of her since. But there was so much more going on in this book than just Fiona.

As the New Beginnings church is growing rapidly, disunity creeps in. Anyone who has ever been involved in a church has probably seen how this can split a church apart so easily. At first, I was so sad to see where this story was going because this church was my ideal of a “perfect” church and I was afraid of the changes that might come. But this is a very realistic take on what really happens in real churches today. Yes, really.

In the midst of all the church drama, life among the church-goers continued. We saw more of all the key characters from the previous books and were able to see love, healing, commitment, repentance, hope, faithfulness, rebirth, and even birth. I’m holding back so much more so as not to spoil the sweet surprises.

I have so enjoyed the New Beginnings series! I love that her books are wholesome, interesting, have short chapters, and relatable human issues. I also appreciate I can read her books without reading about morally questionable scenarios or cursing. Reading defensively can get exhausting! I love that I can simply relax and enjoy her books.

The only consistent issue I've had with this series is pronouns referring to God such as "His" and "He" are not capitalized. I mentioned this in a prior review, but thought it was worth saying again: Pronouns regarding the Almighty God should always be capitalized, just as they are in the Bible. While I realize this would be a huge undertaking, I think it would be worth the effort to go back and correct this.

Just right!

I so enjoyed this series. Robin Merrill has done an amazing job of weaving in the realities of life and all it’s messiness with the woof of God. Her gentle humor, poignant wisdom, and quirky characters reflect so much reality all while reminding me how much God cares for each of us and desires relationship with all of us. He will move mountains in the way He alone knows they need moved to make himself real in our hearts and minds so that we can walk thru the ups and downs of life, holding His hand and knowing we are His.

Splitting (New Beginnings Book 6), my twentieth outstanding read from author Robin Merrill. I've read over 300 books so far this year and this series is among the very best of them. Outstanding Christian fiction, with well-written with characters & a plot you can buy into with unexpected twists & turns. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I was worried when I first started Splitting. I spent 43 years of my life on a church staff. Splitting renewed my confidence when God is allowed to lead He does. I was flying today as I read the last half of the book. I had to hide tears quite often as Gods people did what Gods people do.

Excellent series!

This book series is aptly named "New Beginnings" as that is what hopeless people in hopeless situations need.

I do recommend reading all the books in this series in order as the characters build upon themselves.

an interesting title for a story

Is the congregation of this new church heading for a split? Or are the founding members splitting due to differences? Read & find out. You won’t be disappointed.

So sad to see it end

Oh. These six books! Some parts could've been written about ME. This author has touched my heart in a big way. I loved every book, every word. Thank you, Robin Merrill for such a huge dose of inspiration. Everyone in the world needs to read these books!
