Stories like this remind me of why I fell in love with Grey to begin with. Bello and Brisk were a breath of fresh air and their story gave me All. The. Feels. All of them 🥰🥰!!!

Brisk lived a life no 20 year old deserved. She had it rough from birth after her very existence failed to keep her father around. That one act flipped a switch within her mother and she went from being her greatest blessing to her biggest regret. Living a life of struggle was the norm for Brisk and when I tell you she made shït shake with her head held high, she did exactly that.

When Bello came along, it was love at first sight for him. He was instantly smitten with Brisk and before he knew her secrets, he wanted to create a soft life for her. One of peace and luxury to the point where her every wish was his to make happen. Bello did not play about Brisk and I loved that for her! I loved them for each other! I absolutely adored these two and highly recommend adding their story to your TBR if you haven’t already!

Brisk Love

I liked Bello and Brisk (I loved her name)! This was an 8 yr age gap/instalove and it was sweet. Bello was tired of soiling his royal oats and was ready to be more selective. What he wasn't ready for was to be head over heels in love, but as soon as he saw Brisk he knew he was hanging up his player card. He was ready to give her the world, before she was even his. Ayyye it ain't trickin if you go it. 

Brisk had a rough childhood, basically fending for herself since her teenage years. Her mom wasn't an official character, but just hearing about her it was clear she was trash. This left her with minimal life experience. However, she was ready for more and Bello was just the man to give it to her. 

Although idk how realistic that first seggs scene was 🤔 I still enjoyed it. I loved that Bello was so protective, generous, and salacious towards Brisk. She deserved to get her back broken 🤭 while living the soft stress free life he vowed to give her.

Fairytale

Insta love and I’m here for it! Brisk had it rough and just needed a win in life to where she felt she didn’t have to carry the burden alone and through her best friend Melanie, her knight in shining armor Bello came! Brisk definitely tried to fight her blessing and almost risk losing her new found love and her friendship. The frustration Brisk gave me could’ve been solved if she just let people help her but given her background I get it. Grey Huffington did a good job taking you through the motions with both Brisk and Bello. I wanted more from Bello and his mom but will say their resolution made sense. The ending was really sweet and honestly played into what Bello was planning. Lastly, the were exploring and have segggs in this book! Naivety be dammed! Brisk and Bello couldn’t enough of one another even before they had each other! Loved that for them and me reading! 😆overallI enjoyed this read and can’t wait to read more from Grey Huffington!

I loved Bello and Brisk. Brisk deserved to be happy. She had a rough life and was use to taking care of herself. Melonie was a great friend to her, even though she made a situation about her. But this was such a great book.

First I love this cover😍. 2nd que it was love at first sight, I know from the way she looked at me! 🎶🎼 3rd Brisk and Bello were everything 👏🏾👏🏾 it was so poetic!
We have age gap, alittle forbidden romance, damsel in distress, alittle focus on anxiety, found family, he falls first, and a glock toting mmc 🫢. I mean what more can a girl ask for.

Man..so many feelings

This book..whew. I love how all her books are relatable and as a person with anxiety this one definitely hit home. The interaction between Bello and Brisk were so pure, honest, and endearing. Brisk's hardships made her live and cherish those she loved evne more while trying to find her own little piece of happiness and love. I loved Mel's and Brisk's friendship and also how Mel's parents embraced Brisk. Bello's patience and care for his loved ones was felt through his words and actions. I love how Grey's books are so intimate making the reader feel as if their a part of the relationship.

Cute story

This is the first story I’ve read by Grey Huffington and I did enjoy it. I really liked both Brisk and Bello. Brisk definitely had it tough. My heart really went out for her. She was very sweet with such a pure spirit despite her circumstances. Bello was the man! I loved how he didn’t shy away from his feelings and pursuit of Brisk. Brisk definitely deserved all the luxuries and love that Bello showered her with. While I enjoyed the characters and the storyline, there were a few things that I disliked. I don’t know if it’s just Grey’s writing style but sometimes things got extremely wordy and long winded. I felt that most of the pages were filled with details of places and things, and not enough dialogue between the characters. Also I would have appreciated more character development of Bello. He presented to be a very charming and well put together guy but he definitely has a past in the drug game that was glossed over. I would like to know more about the Frank family overall.

As it Should be!!!

Although Brisk had to grow up fast she didn’t let her mother’s bitterness changed who she was. Melonie and her family were God sent and I love how they never treated her as a charity case and respected her boundaries. Bello his instant attraction and connection was everything.

You know Grey Huff is going to give us an amazing man majority of the time, She writes them so fine lol. Bellow was everything Brisk needed. I enjoyed Brisk and Melanie’s friendship, I just wish she told her sooner that she was loving on her uncle. I did have a hard time imagining her as a 19/20 year old, but I loved how her character developed into a little lady.

Living with a mother who not only resented her and made it known that she never wanted her. She was responsible for herself at the age of 14. When she turned 18, she was kicked out. Living life in struggle until she met Bello, her best friends Uncle & from there it was love at 1st sight. Short & cute read....

Absolutely loved it!

Once again Grey has come through with an exceptional read. The characters were amazing. Brisk was such a strong, independent woman who had to learn to take care of herself at a young age. Even homeless, her biggest fantasy was to live in the hills. After meeting her best friend’s uncle and love at first site, all of her dreams were made a possibility. This book really touched on anxiety, homelessness, relationships and love. Very well written.

This much anticipated read had me all in my feelings! The storyline was so relatable. From Brisk's perception about nature to her falling for her best friend's uncle, this was it! In our pandemic induced state, this was an such a welcomed read. It had my full attention from the start. Bello was the man! They both found each other at the right time. Melonie's spoiled butt was a good friend . They understood each other like a sister bond.
Grey never disappoints! Even the playlist was on point!

Bello x Brisk

I honestly think these two right here are my fav couple in the world of Huffington ☺️ Brisk just needs a little TLC & a break. She's been taking care of herself for the longest & she wishes for the days that she doesn't have to, but it's also hard for her to relax & let those who care for her take care of her. Bello was a full advocate for Brisk to live a soft life. I'm talking about he wanted to hire somebody to throw petals at her feet while she walked & was willingly to eliminate anyone & anything that made her think too hard. He wanted her to worry about NOTHING because he was going to take care of EVERYTHING. & I honestly loved that for her ! Brisk was so meek & humble. Her heart was so pure & she never complained. I also loved how she saw first hand how her bestie was taken care of & didn't have an OUNCE of envy. Now Brisk did irritate me not wanting to put her big girl panties on & just tell her friend the real deal, but I also understand her apprehension. I honestly loved that the turmoil between the couple was very minor & felt like that made their bond stronger vs going thru some unnecessary ass miscommunication.

I would truly love a catch up on these two, probably a house full of babies & a dog where Bello is still making life easy, breezy, & beautiful for Brisk 🥰

This one was a sweet surprise! Short sweet and was straight to the point. However I need more!!!! Bello was a quite patient man that knew from the moment he encountered what he wanted it was a done deal. Brisk bless her heart she had so much paint and longing yet so much love and a heart of gold. The two of them together was a breath of fresh air and warming at the same time. To fall in head 1st without a care in the world and good on all front to make sure they withstood it all was all the fuzzy feelings. For Brisk to finally get a chance at living and not surviving a life no kid or 20 year old should experience to be able to breath and have all she needed and more without knowing it within a family that looked at her as their own. This was simply a fairytale of a story and I was all for it. However I stand by needing more. What happened the parents does Bello get the answer he was looking for? Did his parents approve? Was Melonie able to get to experience her best friend be in love and loved on properly? How did Melonie’s parents feel about the advise that was given when they found out who it was for?

It was okay

The story was okay. It was a little melodramatic. Not the fact that she had a terrible mom but the way the main characters spoke about each other. People don't talk that way so it was hard to love them as a couple because it felt forced on the reader rather than capturing the readers attention with their chemistry. I also feel like there should have been some type of interaction with her mom at a point and an epilogue.

We also never got to Bello meeting with his mom. As I'm writing this I realize the book was incomplete. There were no other run-ins with Cash?

I'm not sure if it was just typos or the author was confused about certain words but she should look into an editor.

I love Grey Huffington. I’ve read majority of her books and love them every single time, but Brisk was 20 years old. The ending really threw me off because she had been through so much and instead of being able to fully bask in peace and not having to be in survival mode 24/7 , she’s going to be a mother in less than a year ? Responsible for another human being instead of going to college and being normal for once like she stated she wanted ? I just feel like that wasn’t the right next step for Brisk and Bello, but other than the ending it was beautiful as always.

So, I’ve been wanting to get into Grey Huffington’s work for a good while now, and when I came across this novella, I thought it was the perfect opportunity. While it didn’t wow me, it was good enough to make me want to read more of her work.

I’m not a fan of age gap romance, like, at all, which is probably why this one didn’t fully do it for me. On top of that, the way Brisk and Bello fell for each other so hard and so fast just didn’t feel realistic. I get it, it’s fiction. But when I’m reading and picturing the story playing out in my head, it still needs to feel believable, and this one just didn’t quite sell me on that.

All in all, it was a cute read, and I’m definitely interested in exploring more of Grey’s catalog to see what else she has to offer.

Bello and Brisk’s story was so heartwarming. They both seemed like total opposites of one another . Yet as things moved forward they were exactly what each other needed. The major problem was the fact that Brisk underestimated
Her best friend. Brisk had me talking to her like she was sitting across from me in my reading corner. By not being honest with her best friend she was running the risk ruining the amazing relationship she and Bello were trying to. Build for themselves

Like Pieces To A Puzzle

OMG, little Brisk had had a hard life! Her mother made her take care of herself starting at age fourteen! After Brisk graduated from high school, her mom literally put her out in the street! Luckily, she found a friend in Melonie Frank, and she and Brisk came to love each other like sisters! Brisk was still struggling, but she had a surrogate family in the Franks. Then the unexpected happened. Brisk walked into a wall of a man and for them both, it was love at first sight! The jagged edges of their lives fit like missing pieces of a puzzle!

Brisk is about to turn 20. She is apprehensive about this birthday because of her family past. She’s on her own living in her van. Her best friend Melanie is everything to her. At a birthday party for Melanie’s mother she instantly falls for uncle Bello. Bello was estranged and is slowly making his way back home. The two fund that they are tied by the soul. They are inseparable and help each other grow. Brisk went from not having a supportive family to having her own tiny family that grew from love. I found it odd that she was so close to Melanie but was still living in her camper.

Another good story

Most of the stories I enjoy has a quirky, edginess to the tale Brisk was a naive person with a heart of gold. Her best friend came from means Brisk could not match in a million years. The friendship between Brisk and Melanie would be tested when another person moves in and takes up residence in Brisk's heart. This story was a forbidden kind of love me so good kind of tale every girl needs.

When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade

Grey Huffington, this read was such an emotional read at first for me. Brisk showed such strong determination and sacrifice to have a life. She was such a proud person, I loved her heart though, I loved her fight. Brisk had such a shield although I was so glad she allowed herself to open just a bit. As strong as she was she also was so afraid to live. I was just glad she vegan to breathe and trust. Great read🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Brisk was dealt a tough hand . never knowing her father and living with a mother who not only resented her she never wanted her. She was responsible for herself at the age of 14. Now she has to overcome her anxieties and enjoy life !

GH did not disappoint! We have been asking for a full length novel and she delivered! I love everything about Brisk and Bello. I appreciated the grown man vibe that is Bello. Although I didn’t want the story to end, the ending was my favorite part. Looking forward to more black love stories penned by GH.

When Grey writes these layered flawed characters in search of love an acceptable, I just fall in love with every word! Jagged Edges is no exception. Bello and Brisk really drew me in and I couldn’t stop reading ! Grey always brings stories that just cover you like your favorite blanket.

Jagged Edges felt like a warm hug on a hard day. Brisk’s pain was so real, and Bello’s love? Whew! steady, grown, and healing. I saw pieces of myself in these characters, and it reminded me that even the most broken parts of us can still be loved deeply

This book gave me so much: a little age gap, a little bit of forbidden romance, a little bit of damsel in distress….it was so good. I especially loved the friendship between the girls. Sometimes it’s the story happening within the story that makes it all worth reading. And this is one of them. Loved it.
