"I only want to say that I understand you, Lloyd. It wasn't so long ago really, that I was in your place. The way I was made. The way I was born... Reborn. The way I was reborn. It wasn't under what you'd call the best of circumstances. A man named Collins, he murdered me. He took my life, took everything I loved, and so I understand your anger, Lloyd. Your confusion, your need to lash out. But you can control it, Lloyd, you can master your thoughts, your actions. You can join us, Lloyd. We can help you. I can help you. To understand yourself. What you are. What you're becoming.”

While I wait for the final issues of Scott Snyder's Clear (comiXology Originals) #1 and Night of the Ghoul (comiXology Originals) #1 I thought I'd check out this supernatural mystery series from 2010, the whole of which is currently free on Amazon for Kindle.

Dr. Ishmael Stone is a detective, a monster hunter, and a philosopher. Together with his team, comprising of his half-ghost/half-witch daughter Amara Stone, master of mystic weapons Wilbur Branch, mysterious monster detector Blind Jack, and smooth-talking mentalist Martin Priest, he must discover the truth about the monsters that have been unleashed in the sleepy mining town in West Virginia.

A bit of a bity issue which jumps around in places and can be a little hard to follow. 3 stars.

Red hat ends.

Arcana comics freebie. Suitable for teens and adults. Good color artwork. Each story feels like it should be a little longer. The villain died an undramatic death. The philosophers move on.
