Tie your study together with The Bible Recap Journal, which offers writing prompts and uniquely organized space perfect for recording and tracking each day through the whole Bible.
Here’s another helpful resource to complement the other two books. There are four parts in each entry: things I loved, learned, noticed, and want to research. Then each day includes a short prayer, a Bible verse or quote, and the signature God Shot – where you see God’s attributes on display. All three books would make a great gift for someone wanting to do a simple, self-guided Bible study.
I have to admit that I’m not one who journals too often. I admire those who do it daily. It takes commitment and I love it when one is journaling through the Bible.
This journal goes through The Bible Recap reading plan from Genesis to Revelation. It corresponds with your daily reading. Each day has three prompts: Things I loved/learned/noticed, Questions/things I want to research, God Shots.
The God Shots are intended to focus on His character in the scripture that you are focusing on that day. Each of the three questions has a space underneath to write out your thoughts. At the very bottom of the page is either scripture or a short commentary quote.
This is another nice resource from The Bible Recap to go along with your daily study of God’s Word.
Disclosure: I received this complimentary product through Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest thoughts.
The only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's super basic but it was still really helpful. Every day you write down what stood out, what questions you have, and the favorite part you learned about God's character in that day's assigned reading.
The Bible Recap Study Guide follows the readings and teachings found in the same book under the same title name. The only thing the series of this book is that there isn’t a Bible with it. Readers are free to choose whichever version they prefer. There is however a podcast series available for listeners. The book is meant to be read in 365 days where we can get through the whole Bible in a year. This study guide contains questions to help readers to dig even deeper into the daily readings. Some of the questions ask about who wrote the book of the Bible, why, when, and promises that God declared. The questions enclosed objective, subjective, critical thinking, and ones that will assist you in researching the topics at a deeper level.
The Bible Recap Journal is an additional resource for readers to help readers in writing down their thoughts about what they learned in their reading. She included a section called things I loved/questions/God Shot just to name a few. God shot is a special section dedicated to learning and looking at the character of God. There is also a short statement at the end of each page to understand and pray on.
I would recommend these awesome resources to anyone who is ready to learn more about the Word. The questions are very open and ended and it will cause readers to ponder what God is trying to communicate to us in His Word. I have read some of the actual book and I honestly love the way it is written and how easy it is to follow and to read the whole Bible in a year. This is a perfect time for readings to obtain a copy of the book, study, journal, and listen to the podcast. The New Year is just around the corner and it’s a perfect time to begin. I’m also thinking about restarting over and using all of these resources together to build up my faith and to gain more knowledge about Christ.
"I received this book free from the publisher, Bethany House/ Chosen for my honest review.”
I love, love, love The Bible Recap Journal. The Bible Recap Journal will be my go-to journal for 2022. There are prompts on each page as you read the Bible chronologically. The prompts are (1) Things I loved/learned/noticed (2) Questions/Things I want to research (3) God Shot.
I have read the Bible several times however with these prompts I slow down even more and see things I didn’t see before. I especially like the God Shot prompt where I write the attributes of God I see while reading.
I would recommend The Bible Recap Journal to readers who are looking for a journal to use in the new year. There is a place for the reader to date the page, so The Bible Recap Journal and be used anytime.
