Being swept off her feet wasn’t meant to be literal.
Liberty Belle Covington has always had a plan. Run the family’s bed-and-breakfast, marry her best friend (or a prince who knocks her off her feet,) and keep every Hawthorne tradition alive. Unfortunately, none of her plans are working out. Her grandfather refuses to see she is the best person to inherit Covington House. Her best friend loves someone else. People don’t see the importance of tradition. And for the first time in her life, Liberty has a cold.
Focused on making amends for the biggest mistake of his career, Oliver Bradford doesn’t notice when he slips into old habits—like driving on the left side of the road—and hits Liberty. Unfortunately, she is not impressed with his British accent or his money. Oliver tries to make up for the accident, but Liberty rebuffs his every friendly overture.
Frustrated at not being able to do everything herself, Liberty finally accepts Oliver’s help only to discover that not every prince needs to be of royal blood.

I really enjoyed Hint of Charm, a sweet, light, heartwarming romance with a touch of magic. I love the characters and the special gifts of some of the ladies. Liberty and Oliver have a lot of chemistry. The difficult cook is an interesting character. I love how Oliver resolved all his issues. Once I started reading I could not put this charming, well written book down!
A family B&B and the young woman (Liberty) who wants to be the next owner of the B&B are at the forefront of this lovely story. There is pride in her heritage and wonderful family surrounding her. Whatever could go wrong? Well, #1-for the first time in her life, Liberty has a cold! #2-while riding a tri-wheeled bike home with the basket filled with dozens of organic eggs, she is hit by a car driving down the wrong side of the road. #3. The driver of the car is British! It seems Liberty's ancestor helped stop the British during the Revolutionary War, and now Liberty is against all things British. #4. She has a broken collarbone just 6 weeks before the biggest event at the B&B in 11 years.
Within this family there is magic. People who know things. People who "find" things and match them to the person to which they are intended. Sometimes they "know" things. It is all very subtle, hence the appropriate title. What fun for the reader to see these hints in action. And then there is the Brit...but that's a different kind of magic!
Wonderful characters, funny at times, sweet romance, and strong family ties all mix together to make a story unlike any I have read. Gentle yet commanding my attention. It was wonderful!!
I enjoyed this light-hearted whimsical romance with a touch of magic. Having read the previous book in this series, I was well prepared for the quirky characters. Between the new cook throwing out Liberty's precious tea, the well water being contaminated, and an argument over the ownership of Covington House, Liberty is further plagued by developing her first cold ever. As miserable as she is, she nevertheless continues with her duties, which is how her tricycle ends up under the wheels of the Brit's sports car. Despite Liberty's initial antagonism towards Oliver, the attraction between them is nevertheless tangible. I had a great deal of sympathy for Oliver having to deal with the backlash from a previous error, and now having to face Liberty's 200-year old wrath for all things British, especially since she is immobilized at one of the busiest times for the inn. The plot is humorous with a hint of intrigue, as well as romantic as Oliver finally reaches the point in his life where he is determined to follow his heart. The novel comes to a sweet and fitting conclusion, leaving me with a smile on my face. I received a copy of this book through StoryOrigin as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I've read one other of the Spellbound in Hawthorne series and I love the premise. The set up is great. And unique. There are some mystical-magical elements that make the story more fun. I like the characters though I found it shocking that someone could refuse to ever see/read an Austen movie/book. Gasp! The story is fluffy romance and a fun read. I enjoyed it. I look forward to the next one.
No sex, language or violence *I received a complimentary ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I'm loving this charming town of Hawthorne and all the Covington cousins. They are so much fun. I love their camaraderie. I've been looking forward to reading Liberty's story since I read the first book in the series. And let me tell you that I enjoyed every minute of it. She was as charming as I thought she would be. I know the title of the book has the word charm in it and I called Liberty charming. I wasn't trying to play on the word, it is truly how I feel about this town, this book series and this character.
Liberty can be a bit of a spitfire, especially when surrounded by deadlines for the famous family reunion that only happens every so many years. She's running herself ragged trying to prep for it and then some. Some of the items on her list had me giggling...dust the attic. Because you know, everyone is going to be going up into the attic. ;-)
Liberty is in a bit of an accident *smirk* and finds herself unable to do much of anything on her list. Poor thing! I loved watching her have to come to terms with slowing down and not trying to control everything. I loved how it slowed her down enough to enjoy a little more of the happenings around her...especially that Brit who keeps showing up and messing up her plans.
I love Oliver's character. What is it about that accent? Liberty tried to avoid him and not notice his charms but that smile, that accent and his goodness sure made it hard. There are several fun moments between these two. The chemistry was written so well. I loved every scene with them in it.
There are some ups and downs and things from the past that get in the way. You'll have to pick up the book to read it and discover if they can work everything out to create a future.
This book can be read alone but I enjoyed the build up from the previous books to understand the history of the town, the characters and the whimsy of the cozy magic in the story. Think of the Hallmark TV show, The Good Witch, for the magic in this story. I'm going to say the word again, fair warning. This book and series is truly very charming and delightful. Liberty and Oliver's story is my favorite so far.
Content: Clean. Sweet with a few kisses and some magic. The magical aspects are a fun addition to this series and more like an enhanced ability to help people in little ways. Like I said above, think about the tv show The Good Witch and that's how I would describe the magic in the book.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
We're back in the small town of Hawthorne with Liberty Covington who helps run the family's B&B. While running errands in preparation for the big Hawthorne women reunion, Liberty is literally knocked off her feet by Oliver Bradford, a Brit in town who forgot to drive on the right side of the road. This only adds to Liberty's dislike of all things British, but dispite Liberty's misgivings, she begins to fall for the charming Oliver.
I liked the chemistry between Oliver and Liberty, and I really love how close all the Hawthorne cousins are. I really liked Oliver. He truly wanted to make up for the trouble his mistake had caused the town of Hawthorne. He was trying his best to do his job and yet not hurt Liberty's family business. I really liked the solution he came up with to solve both problems.
I felt bad that Liberty not only had a cold but that her injury left her with only one good arm when she had so much to do, but I liked that it made her reevaluate her huge to-do list. When I read she planned to dust the attic, I laughed out loud. She also had to learn to delegate and pass some tasks to others. I could identify with Liberty wanting to do everything herself, I feel like that a lot when planning events, like I can't trust anyone else to take care of things. I'm enjoying these sweet romances with a hint of magic. They remind me of the Hallmark TV show, The Good Witch, which I love.
I received a complimentary copy through StoryOrigin, all thoughts expressed in my review are my own.
Hint of Charm is just a fun book to read! Lorin Grace has an easy-to-read writing style that I enjoy. I love the idea of a huge family reunion of women descended from a Revolutionary War heroine. Liberty and her close cousins have a wonderful and supportive friendship. The meeting between Liberty and Oliver is definitely unique, and they end up with an absolutely perfect HEA. That Oliver is a pretty sharp fellow! The plot had some unexpected twists. I'm a little uncomfortable with magic, but even I found what's in this book to be inoffensive and more in the line of a gift. I recommend this book to readers of clean/wholesome romance. I hope to read the next three books in this series and other books by Lorin Grace. I received a complimentary copy through Story Origin and am sharing my opinion of this well-written romance.
It was fun to be back in Hawthorne with all its mystery and magic. Liberty is such an interesting character. I enjoyed getting to know her better. Her romance with Oliver was so sweet. I had to laugh a few times at the American British rivalry. My MIL is from England and occasionally this rivalry comes up at family parties. It can be very real for some people, so I understood Liberty's feelings. Luckily she has great cousins and family to set her straight. Oliver is worth putting that rivalry aside for. I enjoyed quirky Grandma Tansey. I hope we eventually get to hear her story or at least what she knows or is up to. This is a fun series.
I had read the previous book in the series and like it a lot so when the opportunity to get an ARC of this one came along I couldn't click the button fast enough. It was what I was expecting and it was good. Small town, close family, magical small unexplainable things, an old well and old wishes. I got all that and it was such a pleasure to read. With funny parts and serious parts and mysterious parts, it was a good book for a Sunday afternoon. And now I really want to read about the other cousins I haven't yet met.
I received an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
A magical story about the fun relationships between cousins and some interesting magical abilities. Grandma Tansy is a very colorful and mysterious character who appears to know and have lots of secrets. I don’t like it when people jump to conclusions which leads to misunderstandings and bad feelings so I liked that Liberty and Oliver had honest conversations with each other for the most part and were willing to listen to each other and be humble and forgiving.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am pleased to leave an honest review.
They say pride goes before a fall and Liberty Covington is about to experience the fall of a lifetime! All her life, Liberty has had a passion for her Patriot background and is so entrenched in it that she refuses to like anything British. She lives in the best town in the East, Hawthorne , where she and her family own and run the Covington Bed and Breakfast. She is happy with her life and looking forward to taking over the family business. And then, with a simple sneeze, Liberty's world comes tumbling down around her. Enter a handsome and helpful man named Oliver and Liberty may need all the help her cousins and magic can give to help her navigate her way to happy ever after. This is a follow up to Liberty's cousin Makenna's story and it hits to mark. Fun, delightful characters, eccentric and loveable great aunt, neat snippets of magic all combined to bring the story to life for readers. You will fall in love with Hawthorne and the ladies who bring magic and romance together. Thanks for the opportunity to receive an advanced readers copy!
I enjoyed returning to the town of Hawthorne and learning more about Liberty. It was interesting to see how she felt about Brits and how her perspective changed. I liked meeting Oliver, with his charming British accent and how interesting he made the story and Liberty's life too! I received an advanced copy of this fun book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Oliver and Liberty are an interesting couple. I liked their friendship and how it helped both of them to grow. I liked learning more about magic in this series and seeing all of the cousins at the reunion. I was glad we got to see the well and learn more about it's caretakers.
Liberty doesn't get sick and she doesn't like anything British. Well that changes in this book, first with a cold and then with Oliver. I wonder if I rented a car in England if I would make the mistake of driving on the wrong side of the road too. Hopefully unlike Oliver I wouldn't hit anyone. Poor Liberty having to deal with a broken collar bone on top of being sick. Oliver is trying to right some wrongs from the last book. He claims he wasn't paying attention to what was happening and that made me wonder if I would really like him because his inattention hurt people in Hawthorne. But he shows compassion, tenderness, humor, and plenty of romance in this book. It was great to catch up with the characters from the previous books in this series and hear more about the magical well. I loved the American Revolution reenactment.
Liberty has never been sick so when she gets a cold everyone freaks out. She is riding her grandfather's big three wheel bike to run her errands when right in front of the family B&B she is hit by a car on the wrong side of the road. Oliver was sent to find a new location for one of his family's chain of hotels and to apologize to the people that where hurt by the law firm that represented them in trying to purchase land in Hawthorne. He is distracted by a beautiful tree in front of a B&B and ends up on the wrong side of the road an strikes a woman on a bike. Not a good start to mending relations with the town.
This series is so fun to read and I enjoy each visit to Hawthorne. I love reading about small towns and the magic adds an interesting element to the stories. This particular story is about Liberty Covington and it starts off with an accident; Liberty is hit by a car driving on the wrong side of the road. She finds out the guy that hits her is English and she really doesn't like the English because of American Revolutionary war. Can Liberty get past her dislike of anything English and open herself to new possibilities with her families help? Great series to read.
This was the first book in the series that I've read. I now want to read the ones that came before this one and looking forward to those that will follow. Liberty and Oliver were well developed characters and the other cousins and Grandma Tansy were great additions. There is a hint of magic in some of the characters. A fun read.
I have read of few of the books in this series and I enjoy the small bits of magic that the female members of this family has. Liberty has strong opinions and some of them get challenged in this story. I can’t help but like Oliver. He is British. There is definite chemistry between the two and it stays sweet. This is a fun whimsical romance with a hint of family magic.
“Be warned: chocolate will only help for a little while..."
“Be warned: chocolate will only help for a little while. Cocoa can’t solve the problem." Another enjoyable experience from the Covington Cousins! It is always satisfying to see a character grow and improve, and Liberty and Oliver didn't disappoint.
Another cute, "magical", story full of love and family. It made me want to read the other cousin's stories again...and waiting for the remaining cousins to have their turn. You'll enjoy Liberty and Oliver's story. Glad to read another book by Lorin Grace.
I enjoyed reading this one. It was well written with captivating characters and a plot. It is a very sweet cute charming magical story. I liked the interactions and chemistry between the characters.
This was a sweet romance with magical twists that I enjoyed. It was fun to watch Liberty overcome her prejudices. This was a sweet and clean read, I'd rate it G for mild kissing.
What a way to meet! And what a look Liberty takes of herself. Sometimes we don't recognize how we hold to somethings as true without even realizing where the real feelings come from.
