Cartoonishly bad villains, an unbelievable romance, ridiculously inept policemen *and* bodyguards abound in this one. And so...many...ellipses...

But the worst was when

Rating: 2 stars, I guess. That's really generous, TBH, but I guess I'm feeling generous today.

With non-stop, fast-paced action and steamy bedroom scenes, this book was written for those who enjoy mystery, suspense and romance. Keeli Abbott is a bodyguard with Parker Payne’s agency and from the very beginning of the book, she demonstrates that she is not someone to mess with. Throwing herself in front of and on top of Detective Spencer Dubridge, whom she is assigned to protect, is nothing out of the ordinary for petite Keeli. She doesn’t set out to be a hero, but she is one and continues to show her mettle throughout the book. Their opponent is the murderer and mob boss, Luther Mills, a man out for revenge against all who have been trying to get him into prison. Of course, the detective is a target because he is the one who arrested Luther to begin with. Luther is intelligent and knows what the vulnerabilities of the police and private agencies are and he uses those to his advantage. There are some real twists in the story, especially regarding the relationship between Spencer and Keeli. Although there are some characters from previous books featured in this latest one, it can definitely be read and enjoyed as a standalone. The characters are fully fleshed out and believable with flaws like tempers and realistic dialogue that includes being sarcastic with each other. Fans of romantic suspense will devour this latest book from the bachelor bodyguard series and welcome the newest one with a female protagonist who can hold her own with the agency.

I liked Keeli, Shes a bodyguard, puts herself in danger to protect others, I didn't realize this was part of a series, but I was able to read and understand the story. It was fast paced, secrets came out, betrayals came out, I will def, have to look into the other books to get a good sense of all characters involved.

Don’t waste your time. It was VERY repetitive and the love story was cringe.

I don't know about this one. Spencer is a detective with a bad guy after him and Keeli is an ex cop turned professional bodyguard hired to - well - be his bodyguard. He needs to stay alive to testify at bad guy's trial.

The problem is these two have bad history from when she'd been on the force. It seems she had a tendency to take risks and refuse backup. He critized her for being too reckless. AND HE WAS RIGHT! Now she's responsible for keeping him alive so he can testify but she's still reckless. It seems the more he criticizes, the more reckless she becomes. And she is pregnant. Spencer -- the cop she can't stand is the dad. ( It seems she forgot to dislike him at least once.)

Now, how our stalwart hero didn't know the ID of the department leak, I can't say because I figured it out the moment this character appeared.

With a TSTL heroine who can't figure out why the detective she is guarding is accusing her of taking unnecessary risks (as she is in the process of taking an unnecessary risk) and a whiny hero who mopes about wondering to himself why the heroine doesn't love him, and ZERO character growth for the two MCs I hesitate to recommend this one. (There are also way too many points of view -- hero, heroine, his boss, her boss, the 2 bad guys -- so hero & heroine don't get as much page time as they deserve. Which might have fleshed out the characters more.)

I really enjoyed this story of Keeli and Spencer trying to capture a murderer and Spencer does not like beautiful Keeli being his bodyguard and acts like a chauvinist . The killer is very dangerous and several attempts are made on their lives. Will they survive and their unborn baby. This book was a real page turner.
