Ransom Family #4

Good For Me

Rate this book
River Ransome wasn’t expecting his life to change when he took this bartending gig. Then he met Jasmine Weaver....

As the oldest son of one of the most successful rock stars in the world, River lives a charmed life. Surfing, hanging with his friends, and meeting pretty girls—River’s life is one big party. But lately he’s been wondering when the party stopped feeling fun.

Jasmine Weaver is a girl with a plan. Work hard, go to school, help her family, make her grandfather proud. And, above all else, keep her wild-child party days locked firmly in the past. But when she walks in on her perfectly respectable (and painfully boring) boyfriend banging his secretary, she wonders whether her carefully planned out life is all it’s cracked up to be.

And maybe the hot guy who tends bar at her uncle’s pub is just the thing to help her let go.

Jas is just looking for a night of fun. Fun is River’s specialty. It should be perfect—easy, no strings, no pressure. Then they can go back to their normal lives.

Until a few months later, when Jas takes a pregnancy test. And they both realize that nothing will ever be normal again.

Ok here goes. After reading every Ransom book twice...well some of them three times, I will read and love every one that comes out. I can't really explain how much I love these guys and their families.

River and Jasmine were no exception. River being the wild child, manwhore, with no idea what he wants to do with his life.

"Don't fuck this up, River. Not the easiest directive for a long-established fuck-up like me, but I'm going to do my best."

And Jasmine reformed wild child with a one track mind on her goals and ambitions. There was attraction from start to finish.

"He looks at me like he's trying to figure out all the secrets of the universe on my face. And there's a part of me-the very immature part that apparently never grew out of being a teenage girl-that gets all lit up when the cute boy stares in my direction."

Although I missed some moments with our original Ransome's I loved the book anyway. I will read it again I'm sure and I can't wait for the next one. I am seriously hoping is Everly and Bodhi!!

Rachel Schurig hits another Ransom book out of the park! River and Jasmine’s story was just utterly lovely!
After seeing River in the periphery of the past three books in the series, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he was a bit of a wild playboy. Up for fun and doesn’t take life too seriously. However, whilst reading his story, this couldn’t be further from the ‘real’ River. He has so many layers and is such an interesting character that I am gutted this book has come to an end.
I’m not a massive fan of the main storyline that was in this book. Not just for this book but generally when I’m reading. I’d rather a life without that element (and have chosen that for myself!); however, it worked for River and Jasmine’s story. It made it different from the three previous stories we have had so far of the Ransom children. It fitted the character’s journeys that they were on, I think without it, the story wouldn’t have flowed so well, and they wouldn’t have ended up where they did. It forced River to reevaluate his life, and I really liked where his ideas ended up and what he finally achieved.
I love that we get to see all of the family in some sort of capacity throughout these books. It is hard to get my head around Daltrey, Daisy and all of that generation as grown-up parents. It is such a contrast from their own books. However, reading a new one of this series is like coming home and catching up with family and old friends.
Overall, another fantastic book and a wonderful addition to the series. I can’t wait to see who we get next. There are so many to choose from; especially now the ‘Littles’ are growing up too!

The original Ransom books are awesome and it is fun to read the stories about their now adult children. This book is about River who is the second born of Daltrey and Daisy. River has not figured out what he wants to do with his life and has been working as a bartender. Jasmine is the niece of the owner at the latest bar that he has worked at. He developed a crush at first site, but she is dating someone else. When her boyfriend does something stupid, River consoles her. Read this wonderful book to find out how they end up together. I cannot wait to see who the next book is about.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I absolutely loved River's story. I felt so sorry for him and all the self loathing he felt. I'm not sure if I'm very keen on jasmine, to be honest. He was trying his best with her and I get that she was so used to being on her own and doing things for herself BUT she was quite mean very often. I loved Rivers patience with her though. And I think he should spoken up a few times throughout their relationship but it was also great to see him become more sure of himself as the book progressed. And I loved when he stood up to his uncles.

I can't wait for the next book in the series and I hope it's Everley's story next. These book just aren't coming quick enough. Lol. I love this family.

The best of the bunch for the 2nd generation Ransom kids. Instead of wild scenarios for our man's to explore it really boiled down to unresolved trauma and communication issues which made this whole narrative feel very *real. ( I also married the boy who go me pregnant 6 weeks in to dating and we've been together for 15 years). I wish there was a bit more 'meat' - the last half seemed to speed. That said- this was a fun, fast read that while is definitely part of the whole series, could easily be read as a stand-alone. 5/5 I would recommend this to a friend.

Ahh I enjoyed this! Again in love with the entire family and all their dynamics. I think River and Jas were fun and interesting characters - and I really think Riv stole me on this one with all his insecurities. And how everything wrapped up with the career situations? So well done.

Definitely looking forward to more in this series.

😌😌. That was exactly how my face looked when I got done with this book. I honestly didn’t remember liking this book as much as I did! River and Jas are so sweet! To all those worried about the surprise pregnancy troupe, (not a spoiler you Karens: says so in the book summary) Rachel dose it so well! I love their story because River is always pictured as the play boy and this is kind of like his redemption. (His bother gets his own [I’ll be it even bigger] redemption story in his own book: Shine for me!)
I love the ending because it brings us to a perfect close on their story. Also, how cute is Poppy!
Al in all, such an excellent story! The characters are perfect and the side characters are (per always lol) slayed
Happy reading! 💕✨
