Dragon Firefighters #3

Baby From Frost

Rate this book
Fleeing from his dangerous dragon family, half-human omega Raka finds himself unable to control his desires for Delos, the winsome ice dragon alpha he hired to escort him across the frozen sea. But falling in love was never part of the escape plan. To protect them both, Raka vanishes from the flaming wreckage of their ship, leaving Delos behind with a broken heart—not knowing he's carrying the alpha's child.

After seven years, Delos’s icy heart shows no sign of thawing. On an away mission for his dragon flight brothers, he unexpectedly finds the omega he can’t forget. His resentment is matched only by his enduring need for Raka, but the omega is in hiding, unable to leave his library sanctuary. It’s clear they can’t have a second chance together—but then there’s Raka’s son, the boisterous little boy who looks so much like Delos. The child needs an alpha to teach him how to be an ice dragon—can Delos open his heart and become the daddy he was meant to be?

Baby From Frost is the third book in the Dragon Firefighters mpreg series. It expands on characters and the story introduced in the previous books, and while it can be enjoyed as a standalone it’s recommended you read the others first. This book features ice dragons, second chances, a secret child, an industrial fantasy setting, pregnancy and dragon eggs, toddlers, family moments, friendship and loyalty, love in a library (shhh!), light drama, and, as always, a happily ever after.

Another good installation to the Dragon Firefighter series.

The Good, The Bad, and Everything Else: I've been remiss in my review writing, so I haven't reviewed books 1 and 2 in this series so here's a bit of thought about the series in general. It's written is if they are historical romances but there are very little clues as to the timeframe. There are no modern vehicles (cars, planes, etc.), the fighting of the fires is very primitive (buckets being hauled), and dragons are common. The series is set firmly in the Omegaverse and to my knowledge thus far in the series, dragons are the only shifters in this world. The dragons have classifications based on their elemental affinity. Altair and Rainor (from books 1 and 2 respectively) are both Fire Dragons. Delos is an Ice Dragon.

With that said I've really enjoyed this world Ashe Moon has created. I like the idea of a hodgepodge of dragons creating a family (called a dragon flight.) They, of course, are more openminded than most and have expanded their circle to include human mates and they don't feel Omegas are less of a person than someone else. This theme of Omegas being lesser than, let's say, an Alpha is a common occurrence within the Omegaverse no matter who is writing the book (at least in my experiences with the sub-genre.)

As far as this book goes, I've wondered what Delos's deal was. Brooding, self-isolated, more interested in Alchemy than personal interactions are what makes up Delos. Now we find out why. Raka was the deal. I like a brooding hero for sure and Delos fit the bill. I wish there was a more substantial reason Raka was in hiding. Unless the conflict is carried over from this book to the next the entire reason Raka couldn't be with Delos to begin with was a moot point. Nothing happened with that storyline. The romance was sweet, and the sex was spicy (library sex anyone?) I wish the relationship had more oomph though. As I mentioned since the entire reason Raka and Delos couldn't be together was not substantiated within this book there was no conflict or added intensity other than what was in Raka's head making me a bit miffed because Delos suffered alone for 7 years for no reason.

I really like Shen (a Thunder Dragon) and am glad he was introduced as now all 3 dragons in the flight are mated. I wasn't ready for the series to end.

In a Nutshell: I'm hooked. I cannot wait to read the next book to see where the series goes.

My least favorite of the series so far. Why? I'll break it down.

I didn't like either of the main characters: Delos the alpha dragon firefighter is just...bland. And Raka is an unrepentant a@@hat. I mean he basically says whoops, so sorry I kept your kid from you for all the years...but nope not really sorry.

There is no real story. I kept expecting Raka's family to pop out of nowhere and try to kill him or drag him home. Nope, the entire story is Delos and Raka painfully reconnecting (in a boring way, not really an angsty way) and the research into how humans birth dragon babies.

I'll keep reading the series, hoping there are more interesting characters in the next book.

I’ve been enjoying making my way through this series. They are nice, short, easy reads with found family. This one was less angsty than I was expecting due to the reasoning for Raka to be on the run but I really enjoyed seeing Raka and Delos get to know each other again as this is a second chance.

I really liked both characters and seeing a different area in their world! So happy with the way it turned out. Looks like some of the story may be discovered in the next book so looking forward to it. Definitely recommend if you like dragon shifters, second chance and found family!

This is a really enjoyable heartwarming, second-chance MM dragon shifter romance. It is the third book in the “Dragon Firefighters” and can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the series. The plot is well-paced & has an interesting, emotional undertone. The characters are complex individuals & go on a journey of discovery to finally get their happy ending. There is good support from the secondary characters.
It is about: a male half human/half dragon shifter omega (Raka) goes on the run to escape his family’s devious plans & becomes involved with an alpha male ice-dragon (Delos) then during their journey, Raka somehow disappears. Many years later Delos discovers where & what Raka has been hiding & the attractions begin to flare again.
There is: various kinds of dragon shifters, firefighters, humans, Raka’s precocious little boy (Oli), mates, friendship, friendship, comradery, a caring friend (Shen), a mischievous cat (Soot), drama, mild action, intrigue, secrets, memories, heartache, discovery, attractions, regrets, longings, compromises, mates, surprises, contentment, love, some steam & a well-deserved delightful epilogue.

I just finished it .. and loved it !
It was a bit angsty at the start and slowly turned sweet, fun & hot.
I loved every bit.
Also, the flight together warmed my heart. I'm so happy that Delos finally got Raka and Oli. Oli is as sweet as Dalia.
I cannot wait for Shen's book, he was a good surprise!
Also, can't wait for the eggs to hatch !!!

Second time around

Raka was such a sweet guy. I'm sorry that he had to put himself through everything that he did. Delos is a really good man, and very loving towards his flight.

This was a sweet and easy read.

I have a weakness for the Alpha/Omega world where the alpha finds out years later that the omega he was with had a baby and he didn’t know.

Which is exactly the case here with Raka and Delos.

I loved how they never stopped pining over each other.

The snarky little kids always capture my heart too... 💙💙

Second chance

Of this was so sweet. No big fires in this third book of the series, but there's a huge fire in Delos' heart... the one who got away.

Holy shit I finally finished the book.
I thought I was never going to end it or I was going to shelve… shelf???….. the thing.

I…. Did not liked it???
Listen, this book was on crystal meth. This thing went 1,000mph leaving dust behind and its cape flapping in the wind. Everything went way too freaking fast, shit was glossed over hardcore, I personally kept mixing up or straight up forgetting who the hell was Delos and who the hell was Raka (omfg I had to see the blurb to remember their names again just now) God knows what else.

We are led to believe that Raka’s problems with his family are a threat and will be a threat soon… but the author never brings it up again nor does anybody else care after a point so quickly, scrap that bit from your mind.

Raka and Delos’ relationship is the sweet definition of insta-lust/insta-love.

I keep forgetting who Raka and Delos is every single time. They are both a copy and paste of each other but with a different name, which I kept forgetting so they might as well be the same person. Raka has no personality in comparison to the other human lovers. He and Delos are both kinda grumpy and quiet and mellow and its boring and too similar. The thing was: A quirky and active human and a sort of mellow and quiet dragon. The formula worked. I kept mixing Raka and Delos up!!!

It can be a bit slice of life at time which I love but it quickly becomes messy again.

I don’t even know.
I don’t know anything anymore.

This is Delos and Raka's story. Delos the only ice dragon in the fireflight. Delos met Raka seven years ago, while Raka was fleeing from his family. Once the boat they were traveling on caught fire, Raka dissappeared. Now with Thomas and Grayson pregnant with dragon eggs, Delos is sent on a mission to Stonevale to investigate how humans birth dragons, so that the delivery will be safe for both Grayson, Thomas, and the babies. Humans birthing dragon babies has been lost to history. Delos heads to the librarium to hopefully find past records of how it's done. For the past seven years Raka has hidden at the librarium as one of it's archivists when Delos finds him. Raka has also hidden another secret from Delos, his son, Oli. Soon it's a family affair as all travel to Stonevale to help Delos and Raka, along with Raka's best friend, Shen (a thunder dragon omega), intrepit lore written in ancient dragon script, about birthing the babies. These are short sweet romances. I love the dragon shifter storyline, the hidden magic, and the found family connection. I love seeing this flight grow with love and trust for new members.

Delos meets a stranger wanting supplies and heads away to travel with him
Alpha Ice Dragon shifter Delos sold things he made with alchemy and when he met a cloaked figure looking for the type of goods he sold he takes him to the tent where he lives and offers to let him stay in his tent. Gradually the stranger relax until he tells Delos that his name is Raka he is also an Ice dragon but an Omega and that he is running from his family who are hunting him. Delos offers to go with him on the next leg of trip and act as his protector.

In each of the preceding stories in this series Delos always seems so alone and, not to be funny, but frozen emotionally. We got glimpses of his connection with Grayson and Altair's daughter and I was looking forward to him finding his mate and family. This story tells us his back story and gives him a second chance to reunite with his mate Raka and the child that he did not know that he had. Difficult circumstances made them part and meeting again a few years later gives them the chance to work to have the family that each wants with the other. I won't give spoilers but I was so glad to read this story and hopeful as it ended.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

The story is very sweet, but maybe because Delos was my favorite character, I'm a little disappointed.
The story is entertaining and enjoyable to read, but there are two gaps in it for me. The love story between Delos and Raka, for me, is short and you do not fully empathize with that great love. And then Raka's fears towards his family never materialize and so much fear why, what are they going to do to him. I would have understood it to be a noble family and that by ancient laws they had imposed on him to marry someone specific, even if it was a cliché. But as I said the book is sweet as promised by the cold but sweet heart of Delos, and the son of both charming.

So happy for our Ice Dragon

Delos, ice dragon, grumpy, almost frozen heart. Raka, ice dragon, sad, in hiding and keeping secrets. I have always enjoyed the Delos character. His grumpy but straight forward demeanor has been fun to read especially when his dry humor is turned on Rainor. When we meet Raka it is finally understood why he is grumpy and cold even for an ice dragon. Raka is a sweet and headstrong omega that has done what he thinks is right. By chance they meet again and as always the flight mates are there for support, harassment, love and any help they can be. I can't wait to get into this next book waiting for me!

DELOS GETS HIS HEA!!!!!

DRAGON FIREFIGHTERS Book #3 is for Delos. This Series is part myth and imagination. I'm a Shifter fanatic. I Love all types of shifters, second chance romance is my all time favorite storyline. ASHE MOON wrote this story beautifully. Delos suffers from a broken heart. His dream is helping others. Raka lives in utter fear. Delos can't believe the man who broke his heart is standing in front of him. These two with little Oli have many changes ahead. This is a MAGNIFICENT Book. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING DRAGON FIREFIGHTERS SERIES!!!!!!!

A fun addition to the Dragon Firefighters series

It is good to see Delos get his mate and his HEA. I have two quibbles with the story: 1) how Raka engineered his escape from the ship, and 2) the great fear he had which never materialized. I won’t say more to avoid spoilers.

I have enjoyed this entire series. It has a different take on dragon/human history and relations and both humans and dragons have shown growth in understanding each other over the course of the series. Looking forward to Shen’s book next.

An Icy Love Story

It's Delta's turn. The book begins with the story of his journey to Old Shore Point and the love he lost. A mission to the big city to do research for his flight mates' omegas unexpectedly brings him back in contact with Raka, his lost love, who has a surprise for him. They struggle to resolve the old fears that had kept them apart, but find their way in the end. There are some sly hidden references to other stories. One of the place names is Pas Pertu. Think Jules Verne.

É uma leitura F(. . .), desculpe pela palavra, eu amei 🖤. . .
Amei! . . Boa Leitura 😘

M/M || Dragon Shifter Alpha X Half Dragon Shifter Omega || Reunion || Secret Child || Mates || Industrial Fantasy

Raka and Delos were quick to fall for each other on a ship but Raka left him out of fear. Seven years later, they are reunited when Delos travels to another city in search of information on dragon-human birth as two of his flight mates are pregnant. Delos also finds Oli there, a son he didn’t know he had.

Is this crack? I think it might be. Because objectively these shouldn’t be so good but I can’t stop reading them😩

LOST THAN FOUND

Delos is an ice dragon and part of the fire flight. This is his story, and how he ended up in the flight. Raka is also an ice dragon but also half human. He hides everything about himself including his family history. Delos becomes smitten with Rakaon their voyage to the unfrozen lands. It’s been 7 years since Delos has seen Raka, but a surprise is in store for both of them some good some interesting.

the third installment of the fire fighter series introduces us to two new characters half human omega Raka and Fire Fighter Delos. though their first meeting and attraction was many year prior which further froze Delos heart (if that is possible for an ice dragon) when Raka fled, they meet again and we see how their journey to being as one unfolds. great story, love the characters, cant wiat for the next one

Lukewarm

This story was still as cute as the rest but it was more anticlimactic than I expected. Based on the things revealed in the story I was expecting to have more drama but it stayed lukewarm throughout and nothing exciting really happened. Well except for the dragon births that I’m glad were decently detailed. I enjoyed reading it and I think that’s all that really matters.

Ugh! This series has me in a chokehold! I can’t get enough of these characters and their relationships. I’m loving this world that has been built and how it’s continuing to grow. It’s been truly a breath of fresh air from the overtly hyped books I’ve read this year. The story isn’t over complicated, the characters all how their own little personalities, I absolutely cannot get enough of them. On to book 4!

Family is most important. Not always the one you were born into, but the one you choose. Even after being separated from each other for years Raka and Delos are still a family, they just needed a bit patience and understanding to see it clearly. Steamy and dreamy, this book is by far my favourite of the series!

An excellent read

After a week of many releases by other authors, books that seem to be lacking something in each, this book is exactly what I was looking, no hoping for. The other books left me wanting more within that story, this book does not. It fulfilled me from start to finish.

that’s it?

The book was off to a really good start and the middle was good but the ending was what made me give it a 3 star.
I mean after all that running there was never a conclusion on Raka’s story. Like it was all rushed and we never found out about his family. Meaning this whole time there was just a lot of misunderstanding.

I am so happy that Delos gets his story! I love Delos and Raka! Their story is such an amazing second chance story that I could help but love. This is definitely my favorite of this series. I just love that we get the back story of these two and how they meet again. I absolutely love this story and I can't wait for the next one.
