Agile principles and values transform the way organisations carry out business and respond to change. This book is an introductory guide to agile principles, values and mindset that will equip individuals and teams, regardless of role, to apply Agile from first principles. Practical examples are used throughout to illustrate agile theory with real-world context. This book is ideal for those wanting to achieve the BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile.
I really liked it. It is a good book for people new to Agile and people who are confusing frameworks or methods like Scrum with Agile. The chapters are easy to read. I see it a balanced "introduction to" book. Some of the things I liked are: 1. Short chapters that focus on one thing 2. Summaries at the end of chapters that represent well those chapters 3. Has good practical/actionable parts. For the values and principles, there is a (short) description, how to do it, how not to do it 4. Has practical "how to" chapter on end-to-end delivery 5. It will help you understand or review the most common agile practices 6. It includes a solid chapter on leadership (a chapter to revisit) 7. It contains a lot of top references and summaries to great books
On the downside, it might feel like a Wikipedia, many items without enough in-depth space. It could give the impression that the things here are easy to understand and apply. Because of the above it sometimes felt like an expert summarizing and arranging information for experts.
I recommend this book, for me, it was time well spent.
