Do you want to know what’s worse than being born a shifter?
Lacking the ability to shift...
I’ve been rejected my whole life. First, by my mother, and then by my pack. And now by my so-called fated mate.
That’s because I was born a dud. A lycan who can’t shift, and as you can imagine, it sucks.
Neither wolf nor human. Just something in-between. A genetic freak.
An outcast.
I shouldn’t have been born.
But the night my new mate rejects me, I run into trouble. Shot by a rogue human after I was banished from the pack, I fall into a magical lake, meeting the moon spirit Luna.
She gifts me a wolf of my own, and for the first time in my life, I experience what it is to shift.
The moon spirit wanted to experience life through the eyes of a mortal, and I guess I was the perfect vessel since I’ve never had a wolf.
And what a wolf she is too. She’s definitely a force to be reckoned with, and may even be stronger than my fated mate himself.
It’s time to fight back and reclaim what’s mine.
I’ll make my mate regret the day he ever rejected me...
This is a medium-burn wolf shifter romance with a heroine with multiple love interests. Suitable for ages 16 and up. There is swearing and scenes of a mature nature.
Violet Fox is a lover of foxes and the colour purple...
When she's not writing about werewolves, vampires, and faeries, she can be found watching cute fox videos online, or drinking a ridiculous amount of tea and cof
I received this as an ARC, which I finished last night. The story was exciting, action packed, romantic, and a real page turner. All the characters are fabulous, and I can’t wait to get to know them more. Bring on book #2 😊❤️

There are 2 of this same book floating around on GR, the other of which I have left a review back when I read it in September 2021 ☺️ fab read! 👌🏼
I loved this book! It was a twisted, life altering and hopeful look into a young woman’s life that was born without a wolf. Shows how she was treated and abused for being a “dud”. Ylfa manages to stay strong and keeps going.
This book was so much more then I expected in a good way! I was hooked from the start and it kept me going page after page. The characters, the world building and overall storyline was definitely written very well. I would recommend this to all those who love a shifter that’s strong no matter what comes her way and then becomes a vengeance all of her own.
I loved the idea of this book and hearing a version of an origin story for werewolves. Ylfa had it rough and yet her strength is unwavering. Watching those around her either support or denigrate her was both endearing and frustrating. The sweet relationships that endure are so sweet and I can’t wait to see how they continue to evolve. I’m going to need more Hunter… 😉
This is the first book I've read by this author and I got sucked in straight away. The main female character Yluf is so well written and such a strong woman. When things go wrong and she's banished she finally gets blessed with a wolf. To then see Yluf, Patrick, Hunter and Brent go through some crazy twists, right up to the crazy cliffhanger. Really wicked book
I hated the way the rival woman was treated in this book. Feels like every single chapter has her either doing something completely unjustifiably awful (usually the FMC’s chapters), or being torn apart viciously (in the MMCs’ chapters) for just about anything: the way she smells, her “mannish“ features, her musculature (body shaming galore), her strength and dominance (which is somehow different from the FMC’s dominance, because reasons), etc etc.
The whole book seems more obsessed with the FMC’s looks and proving that she’s just as strong as the rival woman than actually telling a good story, let alone a good romance. The FMC’s most developed relationship is with the best friend MMC but they are basically already in love at the start of the book, so there’s not a lot of movement in that direction.
There are some attempts at a connection with the rakish MMC, Hunter, but it goes no farther than the most chaste kisses, and he really seems to have no character arc at all—complete 180 from “man whore” (awful term) to simping for the FMC and it’s not really clear what changed.
With the MMC who rejected her, there’s basically no character development at all. He starts out stubbornly ignoring his feelings and ends the book the same way, although having lost some status due to losing a couple fights.
The multiple challenge fights are the centerpiece of the book, taking up most of the characters’ time and thoughts, and they’re not even that interesting. Some fights end quickly and without bloodshed, and the ones that matter are basically hand waved away with the FMC too sickened/upset to watch or the action is described as hidden in a cloud of dust. Hmm, if fight scenes are boring for you to write, maybe don’t write a book with literally a half-dozen of them???
Really needed a shifter story and this one wasn’t bad. The writing is a bit juvenile, I mean I haven’t heard the term “ding ding” in quite a while! 🤭 But the story was good. There may/may not be a plot hole or two. The emphasis on the FMC being the product of an affair with a mated wolf was not resolved. The repetition of Brent being the alphas nephew by marriage, was never resolved-seems to be a story there because it was really harped on quite a bit. Possibly these items will be answered in the next book of the series. All in I love a story with an underdog you love. And this one has a few. Happy Reading Friends!
The biggest pleasure I’m receiving out of this book is the character development so far. Patrick is really stepping up to be not only the brains he usually is but getting a strength that’s sincerely surprising and impressive. Hunter is even beginning to change from a man ho into a man with more depth and sincerity. I suspect Brett will eventually develop. He’s still a yes boy at the moment. A disrespectful jachwagan without much depth. Not evil per se but an absolute moronic brute.
I liked this book. I enjoyed reading it, there were a few cringeworthy scenes where I really felt for the fmc. Brent the beta pisses me off, Hunter turned out to be a good guy and Patrick is so sweet. The humans felt a bit like an after thought because the book needed to feel a bit more spice instead of everyone just fighting in the pack ring. Can’t wait to find out what’s next!
I was interested in the book and once I started reading it was a good story. I still think that having to challenge your mate to accept you after he rejects you was something new. Not sure he was worth the challenge. Plus after that took place he was still a jerk. So not happy about how the story went from there. But it's an ok read.
I found this book to be unreadable. The narrative voice of “Ylfa” has the tone of a 15yo teenage girl with rock bottom low self-esteem. There is nothing likeable about her and her perception of the world is equally dim, which hamstrings the AU from the outset. Why the character is named “Ylfa” even though the book is set in North America is never explained.
"He doesn't even blush when he shows me his own ding dong."
I feel like a teen on Wattpad 10 years ago, clichés and cringing and all. I can't fanthom that the MCs are 20+ yo with how immature they talk and act. What propelled me to finish this, I don't know, but I can't read on. I am just a tiny bit curious to see the FMC and how it'd work out, but not enough to drag myself through X books.
This was a first for me from this author and I wasn’t disappointed! The writing was fantastic. The characters were amazing. It sucked me in and kept me riveted from beginning to end! Absolutely worth it! Can’t wait for the next book!
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I can't believe Brent didn't want to be with her but at least she had Patrick and Hunter who wanted her. I can't wait to see what will happen next for them.
I thought this would be a typical rejected mate story but I liked the initial twist. I like the different main characters and the developing relationships. Some holes in the plot that I hope will be explained later in the series.
The fmc was extremely repetitive regarding low self worth. Yes, I get it, you've always been worthless. Stop repeating it over and over. I will continue to the next book because the plot is pretty good, I hope get its not a continuous theme though.
I liked the book and storyline, and normally, I would give it 5 stars, but it's redundant in a lit of parts. It gets better the more into the story you get. I will read book 2
When I read the description of this book I knew I had to read it. I think what appealed to me most is that it said upper young adult, so I knew it would be full of angst and, I was sure, a love triangle. And I was right. Not exactly a love triangle, more of a love square so even better.
This book had a bit of everything: mates, prophecies, angst, bullying and young love. It was an easy read but it was very entertaining. It’s exactly a book I would’ve read in my late teens but it can still be read now and is just as good.
I think the world building was very efficient and I liked the bit of depth we got from the characters. They were all very distinguishable and memorable. Some parts of the story weren’t as original like a shiftless wolf being granted a wolf by a goddess but other parts of the story were and they really upped the entertainment value.
This was a quick read and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

A paranormal reverse harem with a side of dystopian society - Wolf Blessed is a great start to The Gift of the Wolf series. The FMC - Ylfa is a lycan born without a wolf. She spends the majority of her life being beat up and bullied because she can’t shift. Doubting she will ever have a fated mate, she joins a mating ceremony and finds her fated mate. This sets off a chain of events leading her to meet Luna and be gifted a wolf of her own. Ylfa must deal with a rejected mate and two additional mates in the aftermath, but it won’t all be a walk in the park. Toss in a side of a potential war with the humans and Ylfa’s life becomes significantly more eventful.
If you are looking for a new paranormal, slow burn reverse harem to read - check this one out.

By far the best book in the series (thus far), Wolf Banished picks up after Ylfa is banished by Alpha Graeme. Patrick and Hunter accompany her, while Brent remains behind. There’s quite a few surprises at the beginning of the story (sorry no spoilers here!). Ylfa is on a mission to find Raven and broker peace with the remaining humans. It’s an exciting journey - with surprising new characters and exploration of human cities. The ending sets up for a more darker fourth book. Things will get much worse for Ylfa, Hunter, Patrick, Brent and the humans before they get better.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This series continues to get better with each book. Ylfa is truly coming into her own and embracing the prophecy that she and Raven will bring peace to wolves and humans. I also enjoyed the continued bromance between Patrick and Hunter. I’m ready to see how this story progresses. There’s a lot left to explore in this world.
This is my first book by Violet Fox and Wow! I know that it's her first Paranormal reverse harem romance...and she hit it out of the park!! Holy cow!! I love Wolf Shifter romance and this one was so unique. The female Ylfa is born with out her wolf and unable to shift...and she is horribly bullied by the mean girls in the pack. And shunned by everyone else...she has a best friend Patrick who is a nerd and is also on the outside of the pack. There is Hunter (the wolf that sleeps with all the single females) and Brent the Beta wolf of the pack...who is kinda of a douche 🤔...lol Ylfa is such a WONDERFUL character! She is so strong inside and refuses to let them get her down. The world building is top notch! I think it is some of the best...I hardly ever noticed her describe anything...but I could see it in my mind...and I love the dynamics between the pack and each of the main characters. And how the Humans are described. This is really developing into a fantastic series! I am dying already for book two!! HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone!! 🥰

I am loving this series so much! I love Ylfa and her guys...Patrick and Hunter are really developing into their own people and even Brent is becoming a better person by becoming her full mate. I love how she is meeting new packs and helping them contact and convince Humans to join the peace movement...there are some twists and turns...and I really can't wait to see more developments on how it's all going to merge with the story! Five fantastic stars! Highly recommend this book! 🥰
Shifters are one of my favorite things to read and Wolf Blessed was a fantastic read and a great start to a new series. I am in love with Ylfa, this girl has had to put up with so much growing up in a pack where she is the outcast because she is a shifter that can’t shift. Ylfa has been tormented her whole life and doesn’t feel like she deserves any sort of happiness but she still remains strong. My heart seriously broke for her but I just knew she was going to come into her own and boy did she ever. The one constant in her life is Patrick her BFF and I couldn’t love Patrick more he is a complete sweet heart and a bit of a nerd but when our girl needs him he steps up to the plate swinging. Then we have Hunter and the Douche Canoe aka Brent…. Brent I mean I don’t even have words for him or how much I want to scream at him. He p!$$es me off to no end but I am really hoping he is going to redeem himself. Hunter *swoon* there is nothing better than seeing a playboy brought to his knees and that is exactly what happens. This baby is a slow burn and I love a good slow burn because that build up is going to make everything so much hotter when the explosion happens add in that this is a RH and my little heart just pitter patters away! I cant wait for the next book!
