It's Halloween week in the town of Cedar Grove. All the shops are ready for the festivities. It means a special book club night at Pages & Scones on the night before. The special guest, Alan McCullough, is here to talk about his mysteries and sign couples of his latest novel The night is not all fun and games. It starts when Alan is revealed to be a sexist jerk, when he writes mysteries about a strong and confident female sleuth. It ends with fellow business owner, Sherry Schaefer, accusing Alan of misdeeds. Riley and Sherry haven't gotten along much since he moved back to Cedar Grove. That all changes when Alan's body is discovered with a pair of her pruning shears stabbed through his chest. Sherry asks Riley to investigate, when the police zero in on her as the prime suspect.

Another nice story in the Riley Morgan Mystery series. Do to life things this took a bit of time to read, but overall normally a nice quick read. Very wholesome for a lot of people getting killed. I've enjoyed all three books and will continue the series. The characters are growing and I want to see where it goes.
