I loved the guys, unrealistically desperate though they were. The story started off marvelously and I enjoyed the first chapter. The "twins" were funny and adorable. Aaron, the captain, was the silent, sexy type. MY type, that is.

The heroine, Emi, completely ruined the story! I've never, ever, come across a more needy, emotionally demanding, whiny woman. She's got three hunks who can't get enough of her and despite Caph and Ford constantly reassuring her that their captain loves her, Emi INSISTS on hearing The Three Little Words. Never mind that she's supposed to be an empath; never mind that she can easily sense his internal pain. She WANTS TO HEAR Those Three Little Words.

Man...it was unbelievable. Sorry but the 2 stars are because Emi made it impossible for me to carry on reading. I am really mad at her cos this could have been such a fun read!

I dumped it for Urban & Roux's Cut & Run, which is right up my alley.

There was a cut at my daughter's old preschool - "Waa Waa Baby", that's Emi. Oh my gosh, this woman barely meets these guys and within hours she's thinking it's love. And then two of the guys are saying they love her like the next morning but because Aaron won't/can't say it, she's blubbering all over the place and running to hide in corners. I know the title is "Love at First Bight" but give me a freaking break! I kept thinking Aaron would turn to her and say, "Miss Basketcase, you're off the mission. Nice knowing you!"

And then the ending, don't even get me started on that. I would have given this book a 3.5 (even with the above) but with the ending it's a 2.5. It was a "Dallas" ish ending - that's my only clue and you have to be close to my age to understand.

And once they had this ending, everybody was "Damn Straight"-ing and "Baby Girl"-ing it which got my bad dialogue gag reflex detector working.

To say the least, I'm disappointed in this book. IF the author didn't make Emi a crybaby and IF the book didn't have the unbelievable ending, I feel it would have been a much better book because I was interested in the guys and their relationship with Emi. I liked that they loved each other and eventually her, but with or without her they really cared and loved each other (and yes I mean sexually too). And the event that triggered the Dallas-ish ending, that was great, more of that would have been better and maybe less of them loading and unloading. Just an idea.

PS The cover stinks.

It's a shame having to give an author who can clearly write well such a low rating but she earned every bit of this one star.

Quick Rundown: Recently graduated from med school, Dr. Hernia-- whoops, Dr. Hypertia, decides to explore an opportunity with an outer space exploration company for a five year run. A requirement of the company is that as a part of a 4 person crew, they'll all have to be sexually active in some respect as 5 years is a long time (totally bought that btw) so she meets several crews and ends up with our three lovable but shunned Dudes. They click, they fuck and then spend 6 months training and preparing for their mission. Once in space, they do lots of docking, loading, unloading and undocking and no, those aren't puns. While being captured and detained by an alien race, one remains to save the others and that's when, it's all a dream! The whole thing is a dream and none of it really happened.

Upset that I didn't mark that as a spoiler? Yeah, well, I was more upset that I suffered through this boring book for it all to be a cheap and overdone trick.

World Building: very little. Most of this book takes place on a grounded ship in Arizona mainly in a bedroom (no descriptors except large bed), bridge (no descriptors except there's 3 stations), and kitchen (no descriptors except deluxe coffee machine). They do travel to 2 other planets but spend most of time docking and unloading shit. Then they'll load shit and undock. If you're looking for sci-fi flavor, you won't get it here unless you have a thing for space station docks. And while they do leave the docks from time to time, basically all you get is, "we went shopping" or "he taught me to drive a rover" and that's it.

Characters: The characters started off really good. I liked the chick and found the three dudes to be endearing. After the beginning couple chapters, the characters don't develop and become vague copies of a single guy. Their voice disappears and even in bed they sound the same. The chick is an empath but the use of her empathic skills are almost always an afterthought. It's like she forgets she has the ability then a chapter later she remembers again. One of the dudes had a traumatic past that they all called the "crew story" and that story which I supposed was going to be shocking was in fact, completely predictable therefor, no suspense. And this dude never deals or talks about this trauma. Another dude tells the story despite repeatedly telling her that it was the traumatic dude's story to tell. The author really missed the ball on that. She could have made a really emotional connection between the group with it but she didn't and it just fell flat. Most of the conversations between characters ran like this: "Are you okay?, Are you sure you're okay? Does he love me? Are you okay?, Does he love me even though I'm an empath and should be able to tell?, Are you okay?, Are you sure you're okay?..."
There's a jealous and scheming ex who has no significance in the story and just seemed like page filler. Chick has an ex boyfriend who cheated on her but again, he's just unneeded filler. I also had issue with how some of the secondary characters (other crews) who were made out to be rabid rapists unless they were "chipped" which is an implant to solidify crew's compatibility and deter cheating. If they weren't chipped then they were likely to rape. Yet, rape was punishable by death and this was not a dangerous world in any aspect but this. Didn't make sense, came up all the time yet had no real significance.

Plot: What plot? It's all a dream. A shared one but still, once they come out of the dream, they go through all the same boring shit all over again. No happily ever after, just going through the motions again. In regards to what happened during the dream, it was mostly prepping for a mission and that was extremely boring. And sex- really boring sex. For the most part it was tickle, poke, thrust and done. Climaxes weren't vocal- just alluded to by a few vague words. Foreplay was pretty bad as well. Suck a nipple, lick a clit, poke then done. I skimmed them after the first 10 were like that. No action, no suspense, only lame sex all of which was a dream.

Overall: At the beginning I was into it even with the poor sex scenes but it just got so boring around the 30% mark and stayed that way till the end. I kept reading to see if something happened and then got the dream bomb which was just a "fuck you" to the reader.

4-4.5 stars

This was a really good story. I liked Emi a lot and Aaron, Caph, & Ford are great as well. Their story was very good (and hot) and there were some unexpected twists that made things interesting.

Emi is a newly graduated (top of her class) Alpha Healer. Emi's parents died when she was young and she doesn't have anyone else. She threw herself in to her studies, determined to make a good life for herself. Emi had been dating a guy named Daniel but she broke it off when she found him cheating on her. Now he's sniffing around trying to get her back but she's not interested. While looking in to possible jobs, Emi comes across the info for DMS Corps (a deep space exploration company) and decides to schedule an interview and see what it's all about.

Aaron, Caph, and Ford are a crew that's been together for around 20 years. They all met in Merchant Marine training (the space faring variety) and got their first assignment together. During their first years they went through some tough times that bonded them together and they've been serving with each other and serving each other ever since. Aaron is the Captain and has some definite emotional scars which make it hard for him to trust easily. Ford is talkative and witty and Caph is the big teddy bear and they switch back and forth between being first and second mates under Aaron.

Emi goes for her interview for DMS Corps and is interested in the job. She'd have to sign on for 5 years but (assuming she got back alive) she'd get paid millions once she got home. Also since she's a healer she'd get a big bonus as well. Overall it makes the deal worth considering. She does decide to give it more consideration and accepts a tentative start in the program, to meet some of the crews she might join to see what she thinks. The strangest part of the deal is that as the teams are set up as 3 men with 1 woman and they're out in space for years at a time, they like the crews to have consensual sexual relations with each other. They all wear chips that would make sure no force is used but they're also expected to "take care of each other's needs". This is one of the reasons why it's so important to make sure the crew are all able to function together fully before signing up. Emi is given 3 different ships (each with a crew of 3 men) to check out and see what she thinks of the crews. She meets the crews from 2 of the ships and there was little if any chemistry. When she reaches the Tamora Bight she's not expecting what she finds but can't help but like both Ford and Caph right off. There's a little tension with Aaron when they first meet but the reasoning behind it is soon cleared up as he explains to Emi about they 3 men's relationship (that they're all bi and are together). Apparently they've freaked out 9 previous possibilities for their female crew member spot with this revelation and Aaron is expecting her to have as closed a mind as the rest. Thankfully, while Emi isn't majorly experienced, she is open minded and actually thinks that seeing the guys together would be hot. Once it's clear that Emi doesn't have a problem with Aaron, Caph and Ford's relationship, they're all able to relax and get to know each other better.

Emi noticed a strong attraction to all 3 of the men when she came aboard and it just grows as she spends more time together. Things quickly escalate and Emi learns just how great being loved by 3 men at once can be. Things go so well between them all that Aaron quickly offers her the 4th crew spot and she accepts (although it's not completely "official" until the end of the training they'll be going through over the next few months). Emi moves on to the ship and they start getting to know each other better while Emi get trained on the ship's systems and such so she can help out with other duties other than as their doctor. She also takes on the hydroponic's bay and growing the fresh food for them to use on their trip. Things aren't perfect but they go as smoothly as can be expected when integrating the lives of 4 people. The feelings between them all quickly escalate (almost insta-love fast) but doubts plague Emi because of Aaron's inability to admit his feelings out loud (due to emotions scars) and Emi has to learn to see his feelings in his actions rather than when he says. They go through some experiences that bring them closer and help them learn each other better as time comes for them to leave Earth and head out to space. I wont go in to too much detail but I will say that I really liked the way things played out in this story. Things stayed pretty interesting throughout and there were some unexpected twist (especially right before the end). The story turns out great and Emi, Aaron, Caph and Ford end the story ready to start their HEA together.

This was a really enjoyable story. I really liked all 4 main characters and I liked how Dalton did a good job of making all 3 men have distinct personalities so they didn't all blur together. The story also made me laugh a number of times. I wouldn't term it as humorous overall but it definitely had it's funny moments. I'll definitely be reading more by this author and plan to read the rest of the series (the continuation of the story of Eli and her men). I'd recommend this story. Thumbs up. :D

I finally read Love at First Bight. I enjoy this new series from Ms. Dalton. This first book in the series is filled with more depth than I expected. The 3 sexy males definitely didn't hurt the story line. The sadness and lost entwined in the main story line added the depth I was not expecting. I enjoyed all the hot sex scenes. The sex is still quite tame but still very enjoyable.

The characters were all different in personality which is nice. It's tiresome when all the males are the same. The individuality of each character brought out endearing qualities in each. I liked the female protagonist too, which is a plus. Reading this book encouraged me to purchase the second in this series.

I will probably purchase every book Ms. Dalton writes.

Super super hot sci-fi erotica with lots of awesome M/M/M/F action. I love Tymber Dalton...I've found a new favorite author (YEAH!). The premise was really original and quite plausible. I was right along side Emi while she got to know Aaron, Caph and Ford and helped them get over some pretty traumatic stuff. Totally sexy the way they all shared a big bed. It also had lots of cool futuristic gadgets that satisfied my Trekkie tendencies. Highly recommended.

4.5 Bight Star’s

I am a huge Tymber Dalton fan. I totally understand if she is not your thing.
This is a MMMF book ooohhh yeah baby! But it’s a little different than anything I have ever read. Science Fiction, Romance Erotica.

Dr. Emilia Hypatia aka Emi is ready to stir up her life, so she takes a job 5 years to go in to deep space, on the Tamora Bight.

Her crew consists of Caphis aka Caph who is the playful one. Ford who is more intellectual, aka the talker. Then there is Aaron who is the passionate one with a deep past.

Her background in psychology and empathy training is going to come in handy with these men, they all have a past they are working through, but so does she.

Not only is this book HELLA Hot, Hot, but it sucks you in because you want and need to know who this whole dynamic is going to play out. Usually I will wait for the audio but this book kept jumping out at me so.. I had to read it so glad I did.
Defiantly didn’t’ go in the ways I thought but her books rarely ever do. All in the best of ways.

I got this as an "e-read" and thought that it was a very well developed story with well defined characters. I warn you that this story has explicit sex with multiple partner sex at the same time. I think this book would have been a great story without all the sex too. I have read one other book by Tymber Daltonas well, that I found very well written and an engrossing story as well, that led me to try another of her books.

I loved this book. There's a lot of history, background and built up in this book which takes majority of it but it's all about them developing their relationship and breaking down walls. I really liked that 'the boys' as Emi calls them are all different and they don't bleed into each other which can happen with multiple partners in one story. Huge swift at end which I didn't expect but did make the end HEA so much better. Looking forward to next book.

I really enjoyed this tale. The sci-fi world building wasn't over my head and I loved all the individual characters. Emi started out a bit needy for my taste, but thankfully she snapped out of it by about 35%. Lots of smexin' in different combinations, never boring. A twist at the end that I didn't see coming. Another winner from Tymber.

I really enjoyed this book. The title was initially offputting (WTF is a "bight"?) but after finishing it, made sense. I liked the dynamic between the 4 main characters... and four is a lot to balance! The end has a nice twist that will have you doing a double take (did that just happen? seriously?) but in a good way. I'm looking forward to reading more about this crew! =)

It should have been great - science fantasy menage, she was smart, doctor and the guys were in a long term relationship. And the guys were good, with angst that never quite resolved, but the h was awful. Cried constantly, always needing reassurance, which she got over and over again. I couldn't like her, but I did like the guys. Just OK.

Read this book. That's really all that needs to be said. This is an M/M/M/F with two sweet hero's, one dark hero, and a sweet, spunky heroine who isn't afraid to go after what she wants. This book is filled with sweet and hot sex scenes, tender and funny moments. You won't want to put it down!

This book surprised me with it's depth of characters and with it's storyline. I was honestly expecting a major romp with a bit of sci-fy thrown in. This book offered much more.

Emi, a doctor with a degree in psychology as well as being an empath has just graduated from medical school and caught her boyfriend cheating on her. Having no family or other deep ties, she applies to the Deep Space Mission Corps (DSMC) for a five year mission with a male crew of 3. She will not only be the ship's doctor, but will also "service" the crew while in space. After 2 less than successful interviews, she meets the crew of the Tamora Bight. These men are fabulous. They make the book a success. Aaron is the strong, serious captain. Caph is the loving, playful 1st Officer, and Ford is the intellectual, understanding Mate. These men are as close as they can be to one another, in every possible way. They have suffered a horrible trauma as a crew and are in need of healing. It's a perfect match. We follow along as the crew gets to know Emi and she becomes part of the crew.

This book is filled with every type of sexual combination. If you are not comfortable with M/M, M/M/F/M and every combo possible, this is not the book for you. If you do enjoy sex in all it's variety, this book is completely entertaining. The characters are likable, the story is well-written. It's fast-paced, surprising at times, and captivating.

While lying on a Jamaican beach sipping Pina Coladas and working on my tan, I DEVOURED the launch book for this completed sci fi reverse harem romance series, called LOVE AT FIRST BIGHT. And I so adored it! Dr. Emilia Hypatia is a medic and empath assigned to a Deep Space Mission Corps spaceship with three galactically hot heroes who are already bonded with each other, but still totally traumatized by the long-ago loss of their female lover on a mission gone hideously awry. Em (who never planned on this whole outer space thing as a career choice) has to learn to be an astronaut, carry her weight in shipboard duties, and teach three wounded heartthrobs how to love her the way they already love each other.

This lightning-fast read features exotic planets, outer space adventure, and a vulnerable but determined heroine coming into her own power as lover and teammate. I really adored this medium-burn MMMF read with a smart, appealing heroine and three wounded heroes who wrung out my heart like a dishcloth!

*1991 more books to read out of 2021*

Tymber Dalton has always been one of my favourite erotica writer, so I was quite excited to start this series hence why I just went on and bought the boxset. Let me just start by saying it was a good book with exciting plot and I am ready to go to the next book which is Bightmares.

But for some reason, the book in the box set seemed half ass with lots of editing mistakes; countless grammar mistakes, no space in between words, spelling mistakes, fonts that were extra small for 10 words than the rest, continuous dialogue with no line breaks that would end up confusing me that I had to reread it several times etc.

I'm not sure its on the writer herself, or google books but it wasn't fun. Hopefully she'll put more effort on editing for her box set that she'll plan to release in the future.

It's been a few years that I saw Tymber Dalton's books in my research of BDSM, but it's my first book from her.
Not bad.
The SF aspect was very good, believable.
The interaction between the main characters was good, but because it was a foursome story, I thought it was also BDSM. It was not.
The erotic scenes was essentially focused on the woman. The interaction between the males was told after the action.
The twist near the end had me completly surprised! Didn't see it at all (well, except .
I liked enough to read to second book.

Wow! What a fun book. I was half way through the book, still thinking about the taste bud issue with Emi and wondering if it was a problem with the chip. The real reason took me totally by surprise. I can't wait to read the next book! I do feel it would be irresponsible of me not to give this small warning about the book, be prepared to lose sleep. I was so engaged in the story, I stayed up all night to finish it.

Had such high hopes for this book but it just seriously lacked plot n was just a fuckfest which got boring real quick.

Just repetitive scene after scene of fucking but dudnt really do much for me after the first few scenes cos it all got so boring.

Great concept but really poorly delivered. When will authors get that we like a plot n storyline to go with our erotica.

Just read like a cheap porn movie.

3 stars.

It was initially 4 stars but TD uses the "it was all a dream" plot device that left me feeling cheated, so much so that even though there was still a bit left after that part, I had to push myself to finish the book (whereas I'd gotten through the first 3/4ths of the story relatively quickly).

If you disregard that part of the story, it’s pretty good. Not the best sci-fi erotica out there, but a far cry from the worst as well. I liked all the characters, but a little more back-story would have been nice. And it’s not a very in-depth story, so if that’s what you’re after, look elsewhere. All together, it’s a pretty light read (only a little angst) and is a pretty easy to get through even with the bit I didn’t like.

Oh and while this is most definitely erotica (or if you prefer, Romantica) it almost seems like erotica-light. It had all the requisite sex scenes, but they weren’t nearly as intense as I’m used to reading --which isn’t necessarily bad (unless that’s what you’re looking for), it just surprised me. If you’re new to the genre, or to Ménages or M/M pairings this may be a good starting place for you to get an idea of what to expect.

Also keep in mind the whole story is from the heroine’s point of view. While that usually annoys me to no end, it seemed to fit the story in this case (though I still would’ve preferred to get at few scenes at least from the H, the H, and the H’s point of view)

And even though I wasn’t as happy with the ending as I’d have liked, there’s a sequel in the works that I have every intention of buying!

This had been sitting on my TBR list for ages, and I needed it for a challenge, so I took the plunge.

New graduate Emilia (aka Emi) decides she needs an adventure, so she accepts an offer from DSM Corps to be a medical officer on board one of their long haul freighters -- where she will not only do routine medical and mission tasks, she'll do the crew as well...:) After turning down a couple of incompatible crews, Emi agrees to sign on with the three-man crew of the Tamora Bight: Aaron, Caphis, and Ford, who've been together for years -- as in 'together.' As Emi and the guys get to know each other, the mutual attraction grows into mutual liking -- she sees them for the sweet and caring guys they are, and they see Emi as a woman who can complete their little 'circle of friends.'

Given that there are three guys who are always ready for sexy times with Emi, I felt the story was curiously flat. Emi spends a lot of time crying -- either because she's sad, or mad, or happy. She spends a lot of time waiting for the "L" word from Aaron -- and that makes her cry too, which makes her seem so weak and fragile. Not my favorite type of heroine. While the guys are fun, their Dark Past casts a shadow over their relationship, so it seems like the guys handled Emi and each other with kid gloves -- protecting themselves and her from facing hard truths.

The story's ending seemed very contrived, as if the author had painted herself into a corner and had to pull this 'deus ex machina' out of her hat to give everyone their HEA.

So...it's a nice story, but for me, just OK.

I love this author. She never fails to make you feel a variety of emotions throughout her books. I did my share of giggling and also getting choked up during this story. Not to mention she writes fantastic love scenes. Here is something that I genuinely love about a lot of her stories. The parties fall deeply in love and a lot of the struggles and obstacles they have to tackle throughout the book are, for the most part, handled together. There is still heavy emotion and intrigue, but not because the whole story is taken up by them mistreating and/or believing something so wrong about the other party and then finally being clarified in the last 5 pages of the book. Did I particularly love the "surprise twist" everyone has been referring to? Well, clearly it's every author's own prerogative to write the things they do. I have mixed feelings about the way it all truly played out. However, I can still acknowledge that it was a fabulous story and incredibly emotional and passion-filled. I loved the mens' total devotion to Emi and their steadfast loyalty and protection. Loved it!!! And how cute were the Twins and how broodingly sexy was the Captain? Loved the personalities and all their fun interaction.

I adored this book and can't wait to continue reading more work from her. Well done.

Ahhh….Science Fiction. I’m a closet nerd and Trekkie! LOL! Add in a hot ménage story with some M/M action and I'M ALL IN!!

It’s the future. Man is exploring deep space. We have a space station, a station on Mars and interstellar treaties with other species. We can travel light years in the blink of an eye.

Love at First Bight introduces us to the main characters of this series. In fact the series sticks with the same characters throughout. They just find themselves in some unique and harrowing situations!

I was hooked on Love at First Bight from the very beginning. The world created by Tymber Dalton was amazing. I was intrigued by the way things work in this world. The open and accepting nature of everyone along with the job benefits available? Oh My! Get ready to want to go to the future!

Aaron, Caph, Ford and Emilia are all loveable and compliment each other so well. They are truly meant to be together. At one point in this book I was crying crocodile tears. I was so into the story and the characters meant so much to me. I was ready to throw my e-reader across the room! I couldn’t believe this was happening! Then the twist came. OMFG! Really? It was a phenomenal twist and made the story that much better!

I'm torn on this one. Let's start at the beginning.

The prologue was unnecessary. It added NOTHING to the story. Then we meet Emilia, the alpha doctor. Emi. Em. Whatever you call her. I didn't like her. Not even a little bit. I found her to be annoying and frustrating. I also found it odd that she would swear the way she did in a job interview. It was like she had split personalities and she couldn't figure out who she was.

The men in this story I enjoyed on the other hand. Their neediness was frustrating at times, I wanted them to be more confident but overall I liked them. They were individuals who provided different things for each other and Emi - and she told us every couple pages.

The twist - boo hiss - what was that and why? It felt abrupt and threw me right out of the story. I couldn't wait for it to end - and not in a good way.

Now the sex - there were some seriously hot scenes if you're comfortable with that sort of thing. For the sex alone I might give it a 4 but you add in the prologue, the annoying girl, the ridiculous twist and you lose me. I have no need to know more about this story.

This was an enjoyable read with an interesting storyline. I thought the author did a very nice job creating a futuristic, sci-fi world. There was one pretty big "wow" in the story that I really didn't see coming, but made for great drama and an excellent surprise.

Ms. Dalton does a great job of character development in her books and this one was no exception - I fell in love with them. Based on how this book was tagged, I really was expecting more m/m action than what took place. In fact, in terms of the relationships, it felt more like three separate m/f relationships that occasionally overlapped than anything else. The m/m action was very limited and took a back seat (no pun intended:) to the relationship that Emi had with each of the three men (Ford, Caph & Aaron).

In summary, I definitely enjoyed this book, but not nearly as much as most of the other books I've read by this author. Despite that, it's still a wonderful book and I'd recommend it for anyone maybe just getting started with m/m romance.

I found this a little hard to get into in the beginning, but once I started to get a feel for the characters, I was irrevocably sucked in, and finished reading in one go.

A simple, but well-developed and logical futuristic setting, throw in 3 hot and loveable men, mix a little drama, sillyness, romanticism and, pardon my French, mindfuck into the mix, shake well and serve as a book that made me finish with a smile. And a rise in body temperature...

My only problems with this were that it appeared that the editor missed a few scenes where it was unclear as to wether a person was dressed or not, etc. The confusion was ignored easily, but it drew me out of my pleasant haste a bit too often. And, our heroine was the head-over-heels-at-first-sight type, which made me want to smack some sense into her. Not even 2 days and she declared her love for the desperate men (which I found both adorable and a little awkward).

Score: 3.6
I'm off to the next book in the series!
