The unforgettable story of the man who would one day rule a kingdom built on honor and chivalry begins in a declining empire.
While General Arthur Pendragon defends a northern province of Rome from a barbarian attack, the emperor he serves incarcerates his father for sedition. To rescue his father, Arthur must forsake the emperor and, even worse, leave Rome behind.
Racing across medieval Europe with Roman armies and barbarian hordes in hot pursuit, Arthur has one goal: to dispatch his ailing father to safety, beyond the clutches of the emperor who usurped the throne from him. Will Arthur's prowess on the battlefield see him victorious?

The Pendragon Legend Exciting and compelling, The Pendragon Legend takes you on an epic journey into the world of Avalon where a young Arthur fights to find his place in a tarnished world.
Legends are not born and destiny is not foretold. They are forged in the cauldron of consequence. The legend of the man who forged a people came to be because of the pain, sacrifice, and honor of an entire generation, not the fortuitous sequence of random events.
The Pendragon Legend is an epic fantasy series, combining mythology, folklore, metaphysical elements and adventure, to retell one of the most famous and gripping stories ever passed down.
C.J. Brown has a lifelong passion for fantasy literature and she quit her career in marketing to pursue her dream of becoming an author. Legends and myths in particular strike her fancy, and she loves putting her own spin on them. An adventurer at heart, when not writing, she can be found exploring the old mystical Northwoods around her home, where she finds much of her inspiration.
"Pendragon and Merlin's Tomb" by C.J. Brown is the first volume of a 3 volume saga offering yet another rendition of the Arthurian legend. In this saga Uther Pendragon and his son Arthur are generals of the Roman Legions that are protecting the Roman Empire from the Huns, under the infamous Attila the Hun. In this opener the reader is introduced to a story of how Arthur is being hunted by the Hun army and escapes with his parents and his army from mainland Europe by taking ship for Britannia. While an excellent fantasy approach it is full of military tactics and very realistic battle scenes. The appearance of Merlin is used to introduce the magical and mystical parts of the story which, it seems will become more important in later volumes. I, for one will be waiting impatiently to read it very soon. I give this 5 stars.
Great book very enlightens was hard to put down anybody who enjoys stories about Merlin and Long Arthur will enjoy this book. Looking forward to reading next book in series
The author reportedly likes to put a new spin on old legends. Relocating Arthur and his father to Italy fighting the Huns as well as dodging a corrupt and stupid emperor is more than spin. There are many fine (and some not so fine) re-tellings of "the matter of Britain," but I felt this was too extreme a version. There are plenty of battles and wholesale slaughter if that's your thing, but it could easily have been written about entirely different people and even set in an alternate, fantasy universe without appropriating the subjects of well-known legend. I won't be following the series.
Definitely a different twist to the story. I rather liked it it kept my attention wanting to see where it was going. I can't remember ever reading this particular situation in the tales of Arthur. I've always been fascinated by the tales of Arthur and Merlin
Excellent book , great story . Have always enjoyed Arthurian books and stories. Definitely worth the time. You won't regret reading this book. Can't wait to start the next book.
An interesting twist on the Arthurian Legend. I had hoped for more depth and scope, however the Nobel is short and the story continues in the next book.
I did enjoy this book. But for some reason I can’t put my finger on it seemed a little off. Not sure if it was the writing, or the style of the language used. I will definitely read the next book to see where this goes. For readers who like Arthur, Merlin type stories, I think that the series by Jack Whyte starting with ‘ The Skystone’ was better. It is written in the first person as a memoir, and kind of gives an idea of how some of the mystical tales may have really occurred. There are I think 8 books in that series.
