Disappointed with AR breaking their formula. Now I won't be able to pick up a book by them without vetting it first through reviews 😫😫 Miracles explains it best in her review -> https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Ooh this was very enjoyable. The parents of the kids from first two books meet, and fall in love here. I absolutely loved the insane lust they had for one another, the protectiveness towards their kids and the choice to spend time with just one another. Best in the series!
What I didn't like: 1.- The heroine (35 y/o) is a single mother 😞 - I really thought it was going to be revealed that Celeste was adopted or that she was actually her sister or something like that but nope, she got pregnant by a much older man when she was 17 2.- The hero is a single father 😒 - again, stupid me thought there was going to be a plot twist, like maybe Apollo was actually his nephew but no, he was really his son and the result of a drunken ONS -yuck- 3.- The heroine - the woman was a con artist, and I'm supposed to root for her? LOL, she said she was trying to provide for her and her little girl, that after the terrible way she grew up she did what she had to in order to survive, blah blah blah, idgaf, that's just wrong, I don't care that she thought she was only conning people who "deserved it", I'm sure there were other ways to provide for her and her daughter without having to lead men on. And after everything she did what's her reward? a millionaire hero 👿, I really wish she had ended up with a poor hero, that's what she deserved 4.- The hero had a vasectomy after Apollo was born 😒 again with this, AR? In one of their most recent books the heroine had her tubes tied and now this 👎 5.- The ending - they decided not to have children 😞 -I can't believe I actually thought that in the epilogue he was going to decide to get a reverse vasectomy or that she was going to end up miraculously pregnant with multiples... man I really miss AR breeding stories 😢
Other info: -The hero's been celibate for almost 19 years -There was no real OW drama - the mother of his son tried to cause trouble but it was resolved quickly -No cheating -Short separation - both celibate -Pushing away from the heroine -No intimate scenes with OP -Epilogue: "many years" later - they have 3 grandchildren
--To be honest, some of the tropes in this book don't bother me (that much), the thing is I expect them from others authors but not from AR, I read their books because they use the same formula all the time so I always know what to expect: virgin heroines, NOT single fathers/mothers, NOT vasectomies or tubal ligations, epilogues with lots of kids, etc. that's why this book was especially disappointing.

Y Siento que no era necesario hacer el libro sobre estos 2 personajes, me gustaron las menciones de Celeste y Apollo pero hasta ahí, como dije siento que estos personajes no
If the con artist was an 18 year old women I would've still understood but this...this was a whole grown assed lady who could indefinitely afford to get a job. And don't even get me started on her being pissed at Apollo. The daughter knew. She knew her mother was conning them and still didn't tell him so. I think his reaction was perfectly reasonable. Not to mention if we did a quick gender switch...there'd be hell to pay. If it were the guy conning women even if they really deserved it , he'd be in jail.
Looking for virgins? GET OUT!! This is not the place for them!!!
The h(in her 30s) ALREADY had a daughter with OM (the Female MC in Book 1 and 2 ). She is a con. Got pregnant by an old coot when she was just 17. Eeew eew.
H-The papa of the male MC from book 1 and 2. Get's a.......................wait for it............................VASECTOMY in the end becoz they dont want kids anymore!!!
Alexa Riley .....i ....i ....WHAT!?
First foul is always pardoned...so...m gonna let it slide. But PLEASE dont break whats left of my fragile heart.
I think out of all the three books in this little series I like this one the most. The first one was good until the cliffhanger, and the second one just seemed like not unnecessary. But I liked this one.
This story was so worth waiting for! I loved Apollo and Celeste but learning all the rest - the story behind their parents? And Shy? Oh yes! So good! Meets and exceeds all of my expectations! Yes please!!! ❤️
book info: - novella - single parents - insta-love - owd (not really, rory's baby mama appeared to cause some issues but was resolved quickly) - HEA (married, no kids and mutual decision, rory got a vasectomy after apollo was born)
i liked the story more of the parents than their kids, tbh. it was instant connection but i did feel more pull between these two mcs than the mcs from book 1 & 2. i liked that they're both single parents and have been celibate for a long time, i think that's kind of basically the same with the usual dual virgin trope of these authors. i had fun reading rory getting all caveman and ready to kidnap anna cuz she won't talk to him. 😂
i liked how they also fixed their issues and that rory wouldn't back down until they talk it all out. they're both afraid cuz this relationship is new and something they never did before. but it made me swoon a little bit when they finally opened up and honestly talk about the things that scares them.
also, they way how the ow issue was resolved is so admirable because rory welcomed shy (his son's half-brother) to their family. he was a good guy overall and i really liked his character.
but i have to say although i liked them as a couple, i didn't like that anna is a con artist. i know she said her marks deserved it but there are other decent means to raise her child without using other people. i think it's kind of a shame to single parents out there who works so hard to provide for their children to have this fmc who didn't bat an eye deceiving people for the reason that she's doing it to provide for celeste.
anyway, i still enjoyed some parts of it, didn't like the others but it's still a nice read.

First things first; I really like the cover of this book! This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. This book is Anna and Rory’s story who we met in ‘’prom king’’ they are Celeste and Apollo’s parents. Rory wasn’t looking for love. That changed when he met Anna. Anna is a single parent that will and has done anything for her daughter. When a chance at love becomes clear, will she take it? The chemistry between Anna and Rory is clear to see and I liked them together. I loved how possessive Rory was of Anna. I loved how protective Anna was of the treatment of her daughter. I liked what Rory did for Shy. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Anna is Celeste's mother, while Rory is Apollo's father. They begin dating around the same time their children start dating each other. Anna is a con artist and that's how she's survived all these years. Rory is rich and pretty much runs Craven Cove and he does his research on Anna and Celeste. Anna and Rory acted like two teenage kids, having sex everywhere and unable to keep their hands to themselves. Rory knows that Anna cons men, but he's so far gone for her that he lets it pass. Anna falls for Rory and changes her ways because...love. Towards the end, there's a new plot and some drama but of course they solve it right quick. Their kids' book was ridiculous and this one was even more ridiculous.
It is no secret that I love a spicy novella by Alexa Riley. I absolutely love this series and I am alone and getting all of the stories. I thought Anna and Rory’s story was fantastic. It was in consuming, it was spicy, it had some some emotional twist and turns, and it kept me hooked from start to finish. I’m so excited that there will be more in this series because I want it all! This is another great read and I can’t wait for more!
Rory & Anna are total combustion. Rory was a goner at first sight. Anna came to con the rich businessman but found her perfect match. Rory didn’t think he needed a woman in his life till he met Anna. Randy, possessive with caveman tendencies make Rory a match for Anna. Each sacrificed for their children for eighteen years so they’ve got some sexy fun time coming. Loved the series and appreciated the dovetail of the three stories.
This is the other half of the story, Prom King, and it the parents’ turn for romance. What does a man who has everything want? Nothing, until he meets Anna and then she’s all that he wants. And he goes to any lengths necessary to have her. Insta-lust/love, a very well to do alpha determined to win the woman meant for him, and a beauty with a shady past—so much fun!
The writing of this craven cove series was not what I’ve come to expect from this duo but it was an interesting read. I like getting the full image of the relationship between Rory and Anna after the teases we glimpsed in the previous 2 books. It wasn’t my favourite book but I’d still read any future books written by these authors.
I was pleasantly surprised by the premise, since single-parent romance was something fresh for the author. But the plot mirrored the prior books in the series, repeating the same events just in Rory & Anna’s POV.
Seriously fucked up to do this to their faithful readers who have come to depend upon them for certain themes and tropes and to completely betray that trust. It used to be safe to buy an AR book without checking a review. I guess I have to start vetting new releases now or stop buying them.
This book filled in the holes from the first two books in the series and honestly, I kind of loved it. Rory and Anna are somewhat perfect for each other and their back story as well as how they handle the kids makes for a very great storyline.
* Hero(s) - 2/5 completely different how I expected him to be * Heroine(s) - 2/5 again, so dirrerent than in the previous books * Secondary Characters - 3/5
Don’t waste money on Prom King, Prom Queen or Take it All especially not individually. Prom King and Prom Queen should be 1 book not two especially for $3 each. Not worth it and not worth reading them. Save your time and $$
