Confidence… Stability… Acceptance…
Three words I'd never experienced, until recently, and all it took was displaying my wings and opening my heart to four very different men. All it took was displaying my wings and opening my heart to four very different men Raph - my boss. Older wiser, and a complete control freak; Christian - my best friend who knows all my deep, dark secrets; Gage - a cursed soldier, punished for centuries for speaking his mind.; and last, but by no means least, Cyrus - the son of Death himself. The male who's broken my heart more times than I could count.

As if dealing with them weren't enough, I'm on Lucifer's radar and he wants me for himself. If I thought my life before the Mate Trials was hard, it's nothing compared to now.

Saying I’m being hunted is an understatement. Before it was just because I was different, and my existence was blasphemy. Now? I’m being hunted because I have been named Samael’s successor.

The icing on this disaster cake? I’m pregnant and have a fifth mate.

Innate is the second book in Serenity Rayne's Dark Angel Chronicles and I really enjoyed it, it brought the cheesy and the horror. This book finds Thana and her mates fending off attacks after Lucifer himself decides to make trouble.

All sorts of demons are coming out of the woodwork but Thana is handling it like a pro. After finally accepting all of herself, both the light and the dark. While she may still deal with issues that stem from her past it doesn't impede Thana as much anymore. Her confidence has grown so much and her powers are more than anyone could expect. Plus she has the love of her mates who support and accept all of her.

The guys are willing to go to any lengths to protect Thana, they show their love and respect for her all the time, even Cryus has gotten better. Raphael is a worrier, he makes sure everything and everyone is good in the group. Christian is so adorably loving and very chill about pretty much everything. While Gabe has become a steady, supportive, force in the group. The guys are getting along even when they give each other crap, it's a good dynamic.

This plot had a few surprises, Azeral is really stepping up his family game and it's totally adorable. He also explained some of his past actions to Thana and apologized. It was great learning about some of Hell's dynamics and seeing all the new demons, their attacks really brought the action level up in this one. There was also one shocking surprise that I wasn't expecting but am totally down for. I hope things go a little better, it looks like it's a possibility.

Innate is still just the beginning of Thana's story, she still has more room to grow, everything is changing for Thana and her mates. Lucifer isn't done yet, it looks like all of Hell is trying to get Thana as a prize and Lucifer has something dastardly planned. My only hope is that Thana continues to be the badass she is and thwart his plans, I'll find out in the next book.

I love Thana and her guys! Book 2 is more action packed, plus Thana has some major power ups. Can I just say how much I love her familiars and wish I had my own. In between are sweet moments Thana has with her men and their growing connection to each other. There are some surprises. I absolutely love this story and all the characters. I can’t wait for the next book!

We roughly pick up where book one leaves off, Innate is the second book in the Dark Angel Chronicles by Serenity Rayne. It easily carries on and you don't feel like you have missed out on much right from the get-go.

Thana and her mates are fending off attacks from all sorts of demons after Lucifer decides to make trouble and claim Thalia for himself. Though the demons are coming out of the woodwork, Thana is handling it like an expert and isn't even breaking a sweat. She has finally accepted all of herself, both the light and the dark, and grows stronger for it.

As much as she has grown in herself- she still has some doubts and that's where the guys really shine. They are willing to go to any length to protect Thana and show her just how much she means to them. The group dynamic is growing stronger and everyone seems to have a place that they excel in which helps with everything. The dynamic itself can not be faulted.

There continue to be appearances from the archangels and Thalia's BFF, but there is one character that I am super thrilled about. Azrael has completely surprised me in this book at how he is stepping up his family game and it's absolutely brilliant.

This is only the second book and I know still early days in Thalia's story but so much has already happened! There are a great many twists and turns in this book that will leave you with a need to know what happens next! Great details and descriptions once again as well. A really good book for RH fans of angels, both light and dark.

All powerful female 💪🏻
In a world where females are rare Thana is certainly changing things up! She’s becoming increasingly powerful and taking on more of her mates powers making her even more of a threat to some but a salvation for others!
Thana becomes pregnant and her bonds certainly strengthen with her men especially Cyrus and her men become even more doting. She also gains a fifth mate bringing a new element to her nest! 🥰
The characters are still a tad on the emotionally volatile side - go from giggles to screaming quite rapidly which does affect how mature their connections seem at times but it’s still worth the read.
However Lucifer wants her for himself and is sending more and more trouble her way.
With that revelation at the end Thana and her nest need to prepare themselves 😮

Innate is the second book in the dark angel chronicles and I have to say I am really enjoying this series it just keeps getting better and better. Angels and demons light and dark good and evil until Thana comes along and she is both good and evil is she destined to change the worlds of good and evil or bring balance. The mates bonds are stronger than ever between Thana and her mates but there is a cuvre ball thrown at them and how will Thana cope with is

I absolutely love all the characters in this series but I have to say I think Cyrus has melted my heart go Cyrus. The book has lots off action and there are lots more danger for them and how will they all cope with it and Thana best friends she has been through the ringer I have my fingers crossed she gets her hea

Hello friends!!! I really enjoyed this book. I don’t read a lot of angels/demons romances but I’ve heard there’s a lot. However the few that I have read, this one is different and fresh and well done! There’s a lot of twists not to mention the way the author does the steam in this book. Woowza.
The growth in this book is my favorite part. I love a bad ass female and there’s no lack of it in this book. There’s still a lot of room to grow reminding me that this is still just the beginning, but I’m so happy with how far the characters have come in this book.
I highly recommend picking this series up! But we wary, there are CLIFFHANGERS!

Phenomenal second installment of the Dark Angel Chronicles

Thana is exquisite, protective and loyal. The guys are hot, interesting and exclusively hers...but they have a surprise in-store this time...Thana falls pregnant, but of course that cannot be plain sailing...

With new evil to face and overcome and new allies to help this book had me wanting to hibernate and not be answerable to anyone...

a book that makes you feel all the feels ...Not counting the want to throw your Kindle across the room, strangle someone within or close to the family or have hearts in your eyes...

Although that ending holy hell I seriously cannot wait for the next installment...

This series is fast becoming a favourite

This book was such a fantastic read that as soon as I started reading I knew that I would be unable to put it down until the very last page was read. I had to finish it in one sitting, no doubt about it. It moves along at a speed which is perfect for the story, slowing down and speeding up as needed which made for an easy and relaxing read. The characters are amazing and you feel as though you know them. You cannot help but love them and you want to be there for them no matter what happens. This book has to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that it is.

LOVE!!!!!!! This Book!!!!

Another great edition of The Dark Angel Chronicles. I simply adore Thana and each of her men. I love how the different bonds work and mingle. Also love how Thana has grown towards self acceptance emotionally and in power, as well as the vulnerability shown at times even when you know how truly powerful they are. Highly recommended!

This is the second book in the Dark Angel Chronicles and it has a seamless/effortless transition from the last book to this. The story is compelling with so much development. I love the focus of Thana's relationship with Cyrus and Raph. But there is still focus on the other men, I hope to read more about Gage. There are fantastic twists and I am excitedly looking forward to the next book.

Oh my Thana and her mates story just keeps getting better. This book focuses on Raphael and Cyrus the most. This are escalating quickly and i feel like there is a war brewing in the distant. I can't wait for book three to see where this series takes us after that cliffhanger.

I am really enjoying this series. Although many books deal with angels and demons in this genre, I am enjoying the fact that that the Nephilim are healers, deliverers of souls, both tainted and pure, and have strong mate bonds all at the same time in this series. And our heroine, as a previously rejected hybrid, is finding her true strengths throughout the book both as an individual and as part of a team with her men. Add in an imbalance in the world and devious plots from hell really makes the story one that will keep you reading and with the twisted cliff hanger, it leaves you wanting the next book now. Enjoy!

Innate is the second book in Serenity Rayne’s Dark Angel Chronicles series. Book two picks up where book one left off. Thana is working to strengthen her bonds with her four mates, but things are still rocky with Cyrus after everything that has transpired from his abduction to the drama with his feelings for Thana. But their problems are about to become more numerous. Lucifer wants Thana for his mate, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make her fall and destroy those that are closest to her.
Innate is another page-turner of a novel. The storyline is engaging as Thana continues to solidify and explore her mate bonds with the four men that were chosen for her. Things have been going well, but there have been hiccups along the way. They all are plagued with the worries of Thana getting pregnant and the threats that surround them. The issue of her best friend is still there, but more in the background. All of them know that they must get stronger if they are going to survive what is coming, but some new revelations are coming that will throw the dynamics out of balance.
This book has its good moments and it has its bad moments. There is some serious “emotional” whiplash in this book and some scenes that seriously... don’t make a lot of sense. In one scene, Thana is angry, baring her teeth and lashing out at her grandfather, and then the next she’s curling into one of the men and bursting into tears. Huh? Then, in another scene, they are getting attacked and she pulls a bag of jerky out of her purse and starts eating it like nothing is going on? What? Then both she and Cyrus are wanting to blow up and scream about another angel not being able to change how bad her life was? Sorry, but that’s just too childish for some angels who are hundreds of years old. It’s ignorant to believe that just because someone has a particular power to intervene means that they have the permission to do so. Them having a tantrum just goes to show that they don’t care about the consequences that could have come from the interference.
This book has a lot of good elements and plenty of steamy moments. I’m glad that overall there is a lot less “screaming” overall, but sadly it’s replaced with more childish moments that are meant apparently to create some drama. The drama should come in Thana not being successful at every turn, or more close calls instead. My disappointment in certain aspects of this book causes it to lose a full star. This book shows some growth with the characters, which are steps in the right direction, but then loses that ground with things that don’t make sense or emotional outbursts that detract. I’m rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. I’m hopeful the next book will find the right course to take and stay on it.

I really liked the plot and that it’s not the usual angel/demon arrangement.

BUT

The time jumps, the inconsistencies in timing were killing me. It prevented me from immersing myself into the story.

For example:
After the doctors appointment they get attacked, kill the bad guy and go home where our heroine lets out her familiars and promptly falls asleep in a beanbag chair, while Raph thinks they should let her sleep, because the baby shower (which Azrael mentioned throwing during the appointment) is tomorrow.
The next day she wakes with a kink in her neck from the beanbag chair, thinks about the familiars and then muses that she is getting too big to do menial stuff.
This happened that day after her appointment!! She shouldn’t be getting too big yet…

I noticed a lot of these inconsistencies. Due to this the book read like it happened over a week when in reality it was months.
There’s nothing wrong with saying something like “the next few weeks were mundane” or “several weeks passed after the limo attack”. It’s much better than “the next day” and then the reader realises weeks passed overnight.

I’m curious about the next book but I’m not sure that I will read it. The timing issues just turned it not enjoyable enough to do it

After cementing her bonds with at least some of her mates, Thana is now facing a whole new threat - surviving all the assassination attempts while protecting the largest treasure of all: the twins she is expecting. Growing up into her full potential, she is a force to be reckoned with, but she cannot forget who is the adversary that wishes to take her as a bride; the one and only Lucifer. And he is plotting revenge for his lost princes too.
I got serious superhero vibes from this second book. Every time there was an obstacle, Thana seemed to have or develop an ability to overcome it with ease. She is collecting familiars like cards, and I am even wondering how long she can expand her "animal farm" - I do not have a better term to express how I feel about the number of them. On the other side, there is definitely a lot of development within the RH, with many steamy scenes and also many emotional ones; after all, with pregnant woman one can expect emotions going haywire. I really liked the Valkyries and would wish to see more of them, though my wish may come true in the next book, taking into account the development in this one.

Can’t Wait For More!!

This series is something I never saw coming. I was drawn to it because I felt a connection with Thana. I’m so glad that I felt that too because it brought me to this amazing read.
As Thana grows as half light and half dark, it’s amazing to see her personality change. She was alway spunky and feisty but since accepting who she is, it’s like her personality has amplified. She’s becoming more and more the woman she was always meant to be.
I was not expecting there to be another mate!! Now instead of 4, Thana has 5. I can’t wait to see how her mate bonds grow.
I’m also very excited to see what happens with Lucifer. He wants Thana for himself and has been sending his most strongest demons after her. He has a new plan to make her his, and I’m honestly wondering if it’ll work or not.

Wow. New secrets and abilities come to light, as well as a whole host of new enemies. I suspect those were always there, they’re just making themselves known now. I love that Thana is such a kick-butt heroine. She’s got some quirky vulnerabilities that make me (and her mates) fall even more in love with her. However, it feels a little too easy that she seems to have access to the exact right ability to save the day just as she needs it. I’m curious to see how Lucifer thinks he’ll overcome that.

What a great second book! There's lots of character developments, plot points and thrilling writing to get stuck into. I love the whole concept of this series, who doesn't love angels and demons, light and dark. This book will have your emotions up and down in the best of ways! So looking forward to the next book!

I definitely like this book better than the first book. The book did still seem rushed, and not in a quick paced sort of way. I found there were more explanations and a little bit more world building but there’s still a lot of questions and some things weren’t really expanded on from the first book.

Despite the ages of some of the characters, some of the reactions didn’t really fit. As well, I’m still not sure how I feel about the FMC. I found some of her personality traits and actions went back and forth. Either she was very confident (sometimes way too confident) or occasionally would have a very different reaction.

I like seeing the progression of the relationship. I especially liked the follow up to her best friend and her mates, especially, maybe, her getting her well-deserves happily ever after. Also, our FMC is pregnant in this book and she doesn’t let that stop her from being strong and standing up for what she believes in.

I really do love the premise of the series, I would just like some more world building and some more expansions on some concepts.

Thana and her mates are back and their bonds are growing ever stronger, throw another mate to the works as well as a small surprise and it's all go, go, go. If Thana thought things were crazy for her, and her guys in book one, then book two definitely blows it out of the ballpark. There are demons attacking from every direction, at every chance they get and it's none stop for the characters!

I do feel a little at times that even though Thana says she loves her guys equally, she has some moments where she definitely shows one guy a lot more attention than the others, and I felt a little bad for them. Personally, I'd probably have slowed down on the powers too because it seems a little like she needed a power, had never tried it before but could suddenly do it, it's a little too convenient for me.

Otherwise, the story is an interesting take on angels/nephilim/etc and I'm intrigued to see what happens next.

Book 2 in Rayne's The Dark Angel Chronicles. Picking up where book 1 leaves off, Thana and her mates are trying to fend off attacks after Lucifer decides to make trouble and claim Thalia for himself. Well written with good storyline flow and great character growth. Twists and turns continue and will have you eagerly awaiting more!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Amazed and dazzled me

Thana, a rare light and dark nephilim, and her four mates: Raphael, an archangel, Christian, a light angel, Gage, a light nephilim, and Cyrus, a dark nephilim, have ben through a tough transition as they solidify their bond. As the story progresses an unknown source creates havoc, balance is partially shifted back, and the theme of the game fate is playing seems to be through a lot crap their way and hope they adapt. Serenity Rayne amazed me with the first book and dazzled me with Innate. The trials that Thana faces would break a lesser woman and it is exciting watching her grow into the strong person she was always meant to be.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Innate is the second book in the dark angels chronicles and again with this series I absolutely love the premise and storyline of this book which shows Thana our FMC as a Nephilim of both light and dark characteristics. Destined to bring balance, more more dangers ahead and impending motherhood certainly makes things interesting. However it still in places felt a little more rushed than fast paced. There are also times where the characters over-dramatics come into play but do seem to have calmed down a little since the last book which shows an element of growth but considering their ages I’d like to see a little less temper tantruming screaming fits. Maybe that’s a personal preference thing though?

I like the strength that the author puts into her characters. The FMC is coming into her own and wielding both light and dark powers. Her enemies should be careful because even pregnant she is a force to be reckoned with. Her mates reaction to her being pregnant is cute and the cantaloupe/watermelon comment, guys just don't appreciate what women go through I think lol It mentioned a 5th mate in blurb and it is a doozey and is interesting to watch someone who is used to power find his place in an already established nest.
