The greatest threat to this K-9 team is the one they don't see coming.

Cora Isaksson’s guilt has shadowed her life ever since drugs ensnared her brother and he disappeared. When Bradley suddenly returns, Cora and her narcotics detection K-9 are thrust into a battle against the drug cartel that wants him back.

When the cartel targets Cora, she and Kent join forces with her teammates at the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency to end the cartel before it ends her. They’re prepared for danger, but when more lives than their own hang in the balance, can they trust God for the rescue that’s out of their reach?

Favorite part of this suspense novel is the K9s. What an interesting group of women, each with a dog trained for one or two specialties. Cora's dog Jana is trained to locate drugs and she is very good at it. Unfortunately, this leads to trouble for Cora when Jana disrupts the plans of a drug cartel.

This was a fun read. Agen had my attention right from the very first chapter which was full of intensity. I enjoyed the way she incorporated the K9 into the story as a drug sniffing dog. It’s so prevalent, unfortunately, in our world today and I liked seeing it in a story. Especially the scenes at the high school. Agen brings to light something that our nation is truly dealing with, and just how dangerous it can be. She reminds readers that it is in the schools across the country, as much as we’d like to say it’s not. It’s sad really, and I wonder how many schools have dog visits like this.

Aside from that, the mystery behind the drug scene did keep you on your toes. I had my suspicions about how it would all turn out, and I was right for the most part. At times I did find Cora to be a bit naive, and almost go along with things because she just knew that God would take care of her. And while I’m not doubting that to be true at all, because He can and will take care of us, it almost seemed like an excuse for her to be almost wreckless. But this was simply who she was, and just my opinion. 🙂

The faith thread was very strong, as you can imagine from my previous statement. I like that Agen doesn’t shy away from sharing the gospel in her books. Especially when in settings such as this, it can be difficult to weave it into the storyline. I know there were things I needed to hear within the pages of this book, and I imagine the same is true for other readers as well.

All in all, this was a great, quick read that I can see myself reading again down the road. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is an entertaining novel featuring a private K-9 firm. The plot is a good one as a K-9 operative and a DEA agent combine efforts to take down a drug ring.

Cora is the heroine and K-9 operative. Her character was mixed. She was strong at times but very distracted and weak at other times. She had a unique ability to verbally relate to villains, talking her way out of potentially deadly situations. She was calm and in control in a tense situation but was unaware, bumping into people at other times.

This novel has a strong Christian message. The gospel is clearly presented. There is a good exploration of the trouble with trying to take on what only God can do. At times the extended character thinking happened in the midst of a suspenseful situation and broke the flow of the plot.

Except for the mixed character and issue with the flow of the plot, I liked the novel. Agen is a new author to me and I'll be looking for more from her.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

This book was fascinating.

I was hooked right from the first chapter with this fast-paced story (I mean seriously just read the first chapter), it was a great hook. I liked how Jerusha Agen took this suspenseful story and brought it to life through her character's words and actions. It was mostly believable, and I really enjoyed the overall flow of it.

The characters were fun (I am a sucker for anything with K-9’s) I liked Cora’s mindset through everything and I loved how she cared for her dog Jana and how she was so concerned about the people around her. Add in the Love Story between Cora and Kent… Ahhh now you have a completely wonderful story. Not to mention the faith aspect of the story, which Jerusha Agen does a fantastic job displaying.

Definitely 5 stars.

I received an ebook copy of this book in advance from the author in exchange for an honest review.

A great action story with K-9 dogs and strong women. Great characters and a timely storyline dealing with drugs and law enforcement. I loved how the ending wrapped up Cora's and Kent's storyline, and how Cora's faith shone throughout the story.

I received an advanced copy to read and give my honest opinion. This is the first time I have read anything written by Jerusha Agen. It did not disappoint at all. She blended suspense, action, Jesus and a sprinkle of romance all into one book. I loved how Cora is so sweet and innocent yet can courageously talk her way out of dangerous situations. How she and her dog Jana are so perfectly matched. Her heart for everyone is amazing and rare to find. She pulled at my heartstrings as she spoke to different people in different situations and really tried to love on everyone God placed in her life. Her approach was a fresh breath of air compared to today's constant world of violence in every action packed movie and book. The PK-9 team is great and their bond is awesome. I don't normally care for romance in a book, but the romance that formed slowly throughout was a nice touch as well. It wasn't overpowering like some books that have romance.  I would definitely recommend this book for some good, clean, suspenseful reading.

Cora is part of an incredible group of women at the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency. All of them are strong, brave, supportive of each other, and fantastic at their jobs (imagine the women of Wakanda in the Marvel "Black Panther" film and you'll be able to picture them). They're just the women you'd want at your side in a difficult or frightening situation.

Plus they have dogs. Dogs trained in security, in drug- or bomb-sniffing; dogs that are fierce and strong , who adore their handlers and their team.

Now Cora is trained, along with her dog Jana, in detecting drugs hidden in suitcases or buildings. They're an exceptional team. Cora doesn't have the physical strength of her teammates; but she has a different and remarkable ability. She can talk to opponents with grace, with gentleness, and with compassion, even as they are clearly her enemies; and she has seen God bring changes of heart in them.

Special Agent Kent Thomson would call that method something rude (though not, of course, to Cora's face). He's more about physical strength, mental stamina, weeding out criminals through solid detection work. And he's not above taking a shot at them when he feels it is necessary. But he is hugely attracted to Cora; and he is paying attention to the fruit of her work. In fact he'd like to kiss her. But he doesn't know that there is a huge barrier between them: his lack of faith in God, and her committed faith.

The cartel they're up against doesn't care about any of that. But they are a hugely dangerous foe, and they have no moral qualms about murder, kidnapping, or (clearly) selling drugs. And they'll take out anyone who gets in their way.

Cora and Kent are determined, from both their sides, to stop the cartel. The cost might be more than they can expect, or even bear. But they are resolute.

Don't miss Jerusha Agen's fantastic faith-filled suspense thriller! She includes faith in such a natural and beautiful way. Her characters are ones you'll root for and want to see more of. And the potential romance? You'll have to read Hidden Danger to find out what happens with that, with the team, and...the cartel.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

A major drug cartel that has managed to infiltrate every aspect of society, even reaching local schools, and involving anyone and everyone to push its agenda is a scary thought, but for every guy that is out seeking to do harm there are those out there fighting for good. Kent and Cora are two of those individuals.

Cora is an almost too good to be true character, with her unwavering faith, perseverance, and unnatural ability to see the good in everyone. Her amazing heart and spirit are inspiring, if not a little intimidating, but is a reminder to me of what a life led by the Holy Spirit can look like. She affects people in the most beautiful of ways, and no one sees her shine brighter than Kent, the DEA special agent that is a little rough around the edges, especially after dealing with one of the biggest drug cartels for almost twenty years, but Cora’s unshakable faith motivates him to take a look at himself, and see the truth.

Hidden Danger is a fast paced suspense that will keep you on your toes, though I did find some of it to be pretty predictable, as is the case with most mysteries. I picked up on some NCIS vibes, especially with the tight-knit, got-your-back K9 team, which was actually my favorite part of this novel. I liked Kent and Cora but I felt like Cora was a bit naive, and there were moments that she put herself into very dangerous situations that could’ve had a very different outcome. I struggled with feeling like this was more true to life than fantasy and I finally landed on the latter because of Cora. Not to say that there are not those out there that have a strong faith, but I hope and pray that those individuals that do this for a living do not make the same choices Cora made, or put themselves in those positions.

One thing that really captured my heart was the Gospel being told. Not many books lay it all out there and I truly believe that God will use this for His good, and I pray that lives will be saved. I also adored the whole K9 team, and of course those precious dogs! Any story that has a dog as part of its characters always gets me, and Hidden Danger is no exception.

If you want a quick, fast paced read that will keep you engaged, with wonderful characters and a heart of gold then you’ve found your next read!

Although I had intended to enjoy this story on vacation, I finished before I even left! Agen hooked me in the action from the first chapter and turned up the heat as the story progressed. The brooding, “intense” Agent Kent Thomson doesn’t want to work with detection specialist Cora Isaksson, but he needs her drug-sniffing canine to bring down the cartel that killed his family members. But Cora’s uncanny perceptiveness, compassion, and tendency to think the best of others breaks down his barriers—and makes him wonder what makes her so special. But Cora has her own regrets that she’s working to right, and they place her in the path of a deadly cartel.

I enjoyed how Agen presented Cora’s faith so naturally, as an integrated part of her daily life. However, I appreciated that even though Cora looked “perfect” to others, she had her own mistakes she had to acknowledge and accept as something God could use in His plan.

I’m already looking forward to the next book in this series that features women—and their furry friends—from the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency.

Hidden Danger
Guardians Unleashed #1
By Jerusha Agen

Cora Isaksson lives with her guilt of having failed her brother. If she can prevent any other family from going through the pain of losing someone to the lure of addiction she'll do all she can. With Jana, her drug-detecting K-9, she hopes to get the trafficking through the local high school and airport reduced if not stopped. But when her job with the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency puts her in the crosshairs of the cartel she'll have to put her faith in God.

DEA Special Agent Kent Thomson has made it his life's work to destroy the cartel that destroyed his life. When Cora and Jana manage to in the middle of his case he is more than a little annoyed when he is ordered to work with her. But there is something about Cora that just gets through to people and she may be his way into the cartel.

As Kent and Cora work towards their mutual goal they are both placed in situations that force them to revisit their pasts and their relationships with their brothers.

As the danger increases the closer they get to their goal, they'll have to rely on all their skills to stay alive and ahead of the cartel.

This is the first book in the Guardians Unleashed series and if you love books that pair K-9 with fighters of justice you will love this book. This is a Romantic Suspense that is obviously Christian as the main character Cora makes no pretense to hide her faith or her belief. What some view as a weakness Cora views as her greatest strength. She has empathy and tries to help those she is tracking down make a step in the opposite direction, to turn over a new leaf. Kent tries to quell any and all emotions that could be viewed as soft and relationships- friendship a vulnerability he needs to avoid at all costs. Two more different people couldn't make for a more interesting partnership in the war on drugs. It was interesting to see how they both reacted in the same situations. I am looking forward to the next book to see what this series has in store for the rest of Phoenix's members. Fans of Love Inspired Suspense will love this book, this series.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations other than I provide my honest opinion - all thoughts expressed were my own.

Hidden Danger is filled with danger and adventure but also warmth, uplifting and inspirational moments. The main characters find themselves in one situation after another forcing them to use their cunning and wits to keep ahead of the people that are after them. Lots of action and surprises will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The main characters, Cora & Kent, are exciting and quirky at times. The author showed their weaknesses as well as their strengths which made them more relatable and by the end of the book, I felt as though I really knew them.

The Christian aspect was woven into the story perfectly. The main character's faith grew making them strong when they needed to be. Highly recommended.

I received an ARC from the author and willingly choose to review it. All opinions are my own.

Hidden Danger is about to come into the open...

Oh boy! What a story this was! Jerusha Agen may be a somewhat new-to-me author but I can already tell that she has her genre down almost to a science. Hidden Danger was a perfect example of just that. It's riveting. It's suspenseful. It's a little on the gritty side. And, it's impossible to put down.

One of the things that I loved best about Hidden Danger was that Cora is one of the most unique romantic suspense heroines I've read this year. She isn't a touch-as-nails cop or veteran nor is she a high-powered career woman. Nope, this girl doesn't have all the answers, she gets scared, and she needs a little help now and then with some of the tough stuff. Definite props to Jerusha Agen for giving readers a different kind of heroine to fall in love with in her first Guardians Unleashed novel. (Note, there is a prequel as well.) Don't get me wrong, I liked Kent too. He's tough and hard but exactly what our heroine needs. But...there was something a little special about Cora that gave her the edge in my heart...

Hidden Danger is one of Love Inspired Suspense's new full trade length novels. I've enjoyed the shorter 224-ish page books for several years now and , if the rest are as good as these early ones from Jerusha Agen, I know I will be a solid fan. Guardians Unleashed has me hooked without a doubt.

I read a lot of books and I can easily say that Hidden Danger was one of my favorites this month. I loved the taut suspense, trying to figure out the villain(s), and just enjoyed the wild ride Jerusha Agen treated her readers to, from bright cityscape to snow covered mountaintop. The scenery is chilling and the danger even more so...grab your mug of hot cocoa and dive into a really good read...

(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)

Gripping, well researched story about Cora, part of the Phoenix K-9 Agency, a group of women with dogs that perform various tasks from search and rescue to protection detail. Cora and her drug sniffing dog Jana are currently monitoring the airport baggage claim and the local highschool. Cora and Bris are fellow Christians at the agency and are not afraid to witness to their coworkers. Phoenix, head of the agency, is well equipped to protect not only her clients but her employees as well.
The excitement begins with a bang as Cora is kidnapped by drug dealers at the airport. DEA agent Kent Thomson is following a suspect when he witnesses the whole thing. Kent comes to her rescue and a relationship with Cora has begun.
Kent is a great hero who starts out relying on himself to get out of bad situations and pursue the bad guys. Cora may seem a bit timid and too trusting but her faith is strong and she is in constant communication with God about her circumstances. She has a caring heart but is determined to quash evil drug dealers.
I like the way Ms. Agen ramps up the tension at the end of each chapter so you have to read on to the next.
There is a clear message of Christ and redemption in the pages of this exciting story. I can not wait to see what is in store for the K-9 agency in the next book.

It's always fun starting a new series, getting to know the characters, and in this instance, the dogs of PK-9! Having never read a series with dogs as large part of the story, I was excited to see the role they played.

Getting to know Cora and Jana was fascinating. It was easy to look at Cora the same way Kent looked at her. She comes from a wealthy family, but has chosen a form of law enforcement as a career. And while it's true she isn't the toughest gal on the PK-9 team, she has a heart for what she does and it comes through loud and clear throughout the story.

Then there's Kent who works for the DEA. Their paths cross at the start of the story and it's a rolling snowball from there. If anything bad can happen to or around Cora, it seems to happen in this story, and thankfully Kent or the ladies from the PK-9 team are there to help her and protect her.

One of the most well done pieces of this story, aside from the non-stop suspense is the faith and gospel message. There is nothing hidden about God's plan of salvation and redemption. Through Cora, the author presents it in a way that will impact any reader!

I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of the team, especially Phoenix. I have no doubt her story will be intriguing!

*I received this book for review. This is my personal opinion.

You better watch your back, lady. You have no idea who you are messing with.

Threats, break ins, kidnapping and more are sure to grab your attention and even have you holding your breath at times. The Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency is on the job. This family of well prepared professionals, along with their highly trained dogs, are always in demand. Cora and Jana, a Golden Retriever, specialize in detecting narcotics. A call for their services could be anywhere from the local high school to the airport.

Kent Thomson is a DEA Special Agent. Working together with a K-9 and her handler does not seem like a good idea to him…..but orders are orders. There are underlying reasons that brought both of these narcotics experts into this dangerous career. Will the past interfere with the ability of one or the other to do their job?

An ARC of this inspirational thriller, Guardians Unleashed, #1, was received through SDG Words,LLC. The impressions and comments made are my own and were in no way solicited.

I am not one who normally likes Mystery books, but the cover and synopsis of Hidden Danger by Jerusha Argen really drew me in. I was hooked from the very first Chapter.

I really like the 2 main Characters, detection specialist Cora Isaksson and DEA Special Agent Kent Thomson. Kent Thomson was not too keen on working with Cora and her K-9 unit, but in the end he did. He realized they were an asset to him and not an hinderance, as he thought they would be. I also like that this story was not Predictable, many times I was left awe struck how it all played out! I also really like how God and Faith are consistently mentioned throughout the book! FANTASTIC BOOK!

This book could’ve been decent but it was too unbelievable. The language was very “saccharine”. And even for a Christian book, I felt the preachiness was excessive.

This was not the book for me.

This is the first book in the Guardians Unleashed Series, but I have to say I was hooked to the series from the Prequel Rising Danger, which introduced me to the Phoenix K-9 Security and Protection Agency, an amazing team of courageous women compromised, with the help of their talented canines, to protect and secure their people from different harms. You don’t have to read the Prequel because this book stands alone perfectly, but I loved that I already knew a bit of this tightly bonded team.
This book is Cora Isaksson’s story. She thinks she is the least brave of the team, but the story will prove her wrong. She struggles with guilt over her brother’s drug addiction ever since he left home angry and resented. What she never expects is for Bradley to return, and to be thrown, along with her narcotics detection expert K-9 Jana, into a battle against the same drug cartel he belonged to and wants him back.
DEA Special Agent Kent Thomson has a personal reason to bring justice to this particular cartel and has been tailing them for some time without success. But he feels he is very near to discovering them. But when the DEA office asks the Phoenix Agency for Cora to help Kent in his mission to capture the drug cartel leaders, Kent thinks Cora and her dog will only tamper his job. But when he gets to know her, he realizes they might be a good asset in helping him delivering justice. But is he the one to deliver justice? Or does he need to turn to God for help?
As Cora becomes a target and the mission becomes highly dangerous, they both have to make a good team if they want to succeed, alive… And as the story develops, Kent’s protective nature over Cora turns into something so much deeper as he fears he might lose her in this mission. And not even just her, more lives hang in the balance as they battle this evil, trusting that God is Bigger and will help them bring them down without losing their lives and ultimately their chance for a future together.
I loved this book! It’s filled with everything I love: a page turner plot with unexpected twists, lots of intrigue, danger, adventure, family theme, sweet romance and an inspirational message! The romance was swoon worthy! And I liked that Cora and Kent were relatable characters, flawed, yet inspiring. I loved how Kent’s aloofness toward Cora changes into protection, admiration and finally love! Also, his character growth was humbling. Cora had a huge heart, a quiet strength, and courage to do what it’s right even if it kills her (literally too), it pained me how she suffered and felt guilty because of her brother addiction. Having a sibling in this same situation, this book was so insightful for me to understand better the struggles they face and to remind me how God loves each and every one of us in spite of our flaws and brokenness and is always willing to forgive us and give us the grace we need to start over. He never grows tired of us! And He can always bring good out of the bad and pain, if we trust in Him. This is definitely a book I recommend! You won’t be able to put it down, and you’ll fall in love with the Phoenix K-9 Team members (K-9 included). Love the friendship they share and how they have each other’s backs. I can’t wait for the next story in this series!!
I received a complimentary story from the author but wasn’t required to post a positive review. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Hidden Danger explores the topics of a K-9 unit company that focuses on protection and more along with illegal drug trafficking and more. Cora Isaksson and her narcotic sniffing dog, Cora attempts to work against illegal drugs because of her brother Bradley. Meanwhile, DEA Special Agent Kent Thomson works to bring down the drug family that was responsible for his father’s death.

Truly, this book pulls you into the story and requires you to finish reading in order to find the story’s outcome. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. So check out this book for yourself.

With an amazing cast of characters that include a group of women who perform tasks from sniffing out narcotics, providing protection, and more the pages of this book are filled with faith, danger, adventure, friendship, families, and more. I loved getting to know the character in this book and want to read more about the members of the Phoenix K-9 company.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

I received a gift copy of this book.
I previously read INTROVERTED, a novelle in this series, and loved the suspense and intertwining of personal faith in the book. HIDDEN DANGER has those same features. Cora has mini prayers throughout the story, giving the real feeling of what it means to pray without ceasing. Prayer is a part of her daily walk and done in a very natural appealing way in the story.
Cora is part of a K-9 team currently working in an airport and school setting. She gets kidnapped and rescued, leading to meeting Kent, a DEA agent. The story unfolds to a quest to take down a drug cartel. Throw in a brother who left home years ago due to drug use, a personal vendetta against the cartel, and many twists in the story and you will keep turning the pages!
Through the story both Cora and Kent have moments that deal with trusting God.
I am ready and excited to read the next book in the series.

This story had me reading at every chance possible!!

Agent Kent Thomson has been building a case against the cartel for drugs and guns and anything else illegal that they could charge them with. He knew someone was due on a flight at the local airport with drugs coming with him. So Agent Thomson decided to stake out the front doors. While he was there he saw 2 men ushering a woman & her dog into their car. He did manage to see a "working dog" vest on the dog but that did not mean that she wasn't working with them. But the more he watched the more he came to believe that it was a kidnapping. He decided to follow them and see where they went.
Cora Isakson and her Narcotics Detection Dog, Jana a Golden Retriever, were doing their rounds at the local airport when Jana sat down next to a suitcase alerting Cora that she had found drugs. Cora tells the gentleman sitting next to the suitcase that he needs to stay and allow his suitcase to be searched. but the gentleman said that he did not agree and then nodded to a younger man. He stepped between Cora and the older man. He told Cora that she and the dog were going to leave with them, and if she did not want to then he would start shooting. Cora could not let that happen so she told Jana to get into the car and started praying that the Lord would give her the right things to say or not and to help her survive this.

This is a story about faith, family & friendship. About giving God control in all things, not just the things that we think God can handle. We can not do it all ourselves.
Thank you Jerusha Agen for allowing me to be a part of your early readers. I cannot wait until the next one!!

Unforgettable series!! I highly recommend the Guardians Unleashed series. In Hidden Danger, DEA Special Agent Kent Thomson has his reasons for working alone, he has been trying to bring justice by stopping a powerful drug cartel for many years. He first meets Cora Isaksson when she is kidnapped by the cartel, and later is forced to work with Cora and her narcotics detection K-9. Cora is a soft spoken, gentle, Jesus lover, the complete opposite of Agent Thomson. Cora works for the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency where she and her highly trained teammates and K-9's do some amazing work.

'I am so grateful the Lord sent you to rescue me. He stared, thought of telling her his car brought him, not God. But the words stuck in his throat.' 'The woman was so unsuited for this kind of work. Drug dealers, cartels, and his work as a DEA agent did not mix with pink accessories.'
Cora promised her mother that she would take care of her younger brother and raise him to know Jesus. 'I tried. But I fell so short.' Her guilt over drugs ensnaring her brother and his disappearance has affected her life for years, and has her questioning her actions and wondering how she could have done things better in every situation. Bradley comes back and claims to be free of drugs, but the cartel wants him back. 'The woman was trying to reason with a member of the drug cartel. She had guts, he'd give her that. But she couldn't win.'

This non-stop action, page-turning story with kidnapping, shoot-outs, drug cartels, faith, romance, and suspense kept me reading late into the night. I loved it! And I loved the faith component in this wonderful story! I highly recommend Hidden Danger (and Rising Danger), and I can't wait for the next one in this series!

Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

What a great book about a group of ladies that incite fear into the hearts of a criminal enterprise and its members! They are the ladies of the Phoenix PK9 unit. Cora is a member of this elite team. When she gets mixed up in the cartel’s dealings, Alex has to step in to rescue her. Alex is a DEA agent with a jaded view on life and God, and Cora is a devout Christian who tries to see the good in everyone. She is a glass half full kind of girl. Her behavior baffles him but they work together to bring down a drug cartel which has personally touched both of their families. This book is full of mystery, suspense, intrigue and romance with a lot of inspiration and spirituality mixed in. Cora will make you stop and examine your own spiritual life. This was a great mystery and I LOVE the K9’s in the book. I am looking forward to book #2 in this series!

Hidden Danger is full of suspense, romance, and faith! It was hard to put it down when life got in the way. (Kidding!)

I liked seeing the transformation of Kent. Cora had a heart of gold and I liked her character, but wanted to have a heart-to-heart with her about what she viewed as a mistake she’d made. I’m glad Bris helped set her straight that what Cora thought was her mistake wasn’t really a mistake.

I look forward to learning more about the other members of the Phoenix K-9 family in future books.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

If you love intrigue, mystery, suspense, romance and deep faith threads in a novel, then add Hidden Danger by Jerusha Agen to your to-be-read pile!
I really enjoyed the K-9 aspect to this story. The dogs and their handlers had big jobs and deep friendships, just like we all picture it from the movies. I love stories about dogs with jobs. But the dogs were far from being the only heroes in this story. I also happen to enjoy cop stories (books and movies). Just when I thought I had this plot figured out, Agen threw a curveball.
I cheered for the love story between Kent and Cora. Cora is a very sweet, loving character who sees the best in everyone. Kent’s faith journey was very well done, which I won’t share, because… spoilers and all that.
There's so much healing is in this novel. Agen doesn’t shy away from telling things like it is and bravely speaks truth. I loved how Agen put the Gospel right out there. There was grace, there was mercy, but there was also justice. And lots of it.

I received an e-copy of this novel from the author. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

Excellent story!
Captivating, mysterious, suspenseful, emotional and so much more. This story kept me reading into the wee hours of the night. I thoroughly enjoyed it; I can’t wait for the next story in the series.
I fell in love with characters: Cora – “sweet and gentle, positive and innocent, yet courageous with instincts and insights about people that were off the charts;” Kent – a protector, “a man in pain, a burden he didn’t realize he carried;” and all PK-9 team.
Moreover, it is centered on God and shows His mercy under a different light.
“Our imperfections are nothing to be ashamed of, Cora. They just mean we need Christ even more, and He’ll get full credit for everything we do.”
I received an ARC of this book for review. I was not required to write a favorable review. All opinions in this review are my own.

Cora Isaksson and her Golden Retriever, Jana, work for the PK-9 Security and Protection Agency. Jana’s specialty is drug sniffing and search and rescue. Nothing too dangerous, right? But right from the start, Cora finds herself kidnapped and in danger. And that’s just the start. It will take all the members of the PK-9 team working together, along with Cora’s growing faith in God, to protect Cora from the danger that comes into her life and the lives of those around her.
