In today's uncertain world, it's more important than ever to learn how to grow your own food to avoid shortages - either natural or man-made. Join the surging grassroots movement to grow healthy, organic food for your family - even if you have no space or experience.

Vegetable gardening usually conjures up images of rural farms or sprawling, manicured, suburban backyards and hours of weeding, tending and harvesting - a hobby that's only available to those who have money, leisure time and space.

In today's gardening world, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

In fact, it's easier and more affordable to get started with gardening than it's ever before - even when you have no experience. In fact, home vegetable gardening surged to new heights during the 2020 pandemic. Maybe you were a first-time gardener too. Now, armed with knowledge, you'll be able to grow vegetables - even if you live in an urban apartment or condo - even if the only space you have is your front steps, balcony or windowsill.

Using pots and containers you already have around your home, you can make the most of the space you have while cultivating a bountiful harvest of fresh food to share with your family and friends. You'll never worry about shortages and your family going hungry again!

Container gardening offers the ideal solution for new and experienced gardeners alike, who are looking to use their time efficiently while keeping their shelves and freezer stocked with healthy, organic fruits and vegetables

In only a matter of hours, you can set-up the perfect growing conditions in your home, following the easy-to-follow guidelines for selecting location and plants, assessing sunlight, and properly watering.

Researching and preparing for your garden may seem like a daunting task, but Luke Potter is here to take the stress out of the equation so you can enjoy the process. And succeed!

In How to Grow Vegetables in Pots and Containers, you'll discover:

This time, there's a difference.

Armed with tried-and-true techniques employed by gardeners around the world, you'll find yourself feeling confident and at ease as you get started with growing your own food. Excellent ideas

Luke Potter knows whereof he speaks. It is refreshing to read a gardening book where the author knows how to grow and can his vegetables. He gives many ways to save money. I wish he had listed more plants than radishes that grow in 21 days.

Very interesting
I picked this book up in late May as I decided to plant in containers because of the Florida soil and growing season. I found the book well worth having it had great information and written in easy to understand way. The garden journal was a great added plus to the book. The facebook group also has great tips. This is great resource to have in your library.

Luke Potter's guide to gardening in containers and pots is a gem of self-publishing and aims to provide novice and urban gardeners with the essential knowledge for starting and maintaining potted plants and gardens, whether indoor or out, with a focus on organic growing. Intended for those who are new to gardening, Potter's decades of experience shine in this tome, and one clearly senses the author's deep care for plants and gardening. Chapters are divided into sub-topics related to container growing, covering location, growing media, planting zones and plant selection, maintaining plant health, tips for organic pest control, harvesting, and even some food preservation tips. As an avid home cook, I appreciated the tips on canning and preserving; however, these tend to focus on understanding basic processes that can be used across different preparations rather than providing hard-and-fast recipes for specific preparations. These tips serve as a great launching point for anyone interested in learning more about how to preserve the spoils of their harvest.

So wordy. He used the same words and phrases continually like he was trying to meet a word count on a college essay. Yes, he did have some good tips and tricks and I do feel as though I took something away from the book; however, I doubt I’ll read anything else by him simply because of his redundancy. A few words and phrases I now have a visceral reaction to are: bountiful harvest; homegrown; versatile; produce; fruits, vegetables, and herbs; fruits and veggies; challenging; and specific requirements.

Very much enjoyed this book about gardening. I hope to put a lot of its knowledge to use this year as I get back into the whole gardening thing since retiring, which I had abandoned when I began working full time. We shall see.
