The Kwan Thrillers #1-5

The Secrets of Giza

Rate this book
Book One:
An incredible discovery deep inside the Great Pyramid, a mysterious signal sent from the Bermuda Triangle, and a ruthless experiment taking place in Area 51: How are they all connected?

When Malia Kwan exhibits unusual abilities, government agents show up at her home to apprehend her and her twin brother, Jaden—and all hell breaks loose. After their parents are killed, Jaden and Malia flee into the night, becoming fugitives. Before long, they discover their true identities are tied to the lost city of Atlantis—and to the origins of humanity itself. And now a threat emerges that could wipe out the entire human race—unless Jaden and Malia can stop it!

Book Two:
The arrival of the Malor spacecraft proved, once and for all, that humanity is not alone in the universe... the path of destruction it left behind showed that aliens are not always friendly. Remaining on Earth, Sydney and Brian must now face the aftermath of the Malor invasion.

When a mysterious stranger shows up on Sydney’s doorstep in the middle of the night, she’s drawn into an urgent mystery: there has been a massive increase in alien abductions around the globe, despite the breakdown of Malor technology--and someone powerful is trying to keep it quiet. It falls to Sydney and Brian to figure out who's behind it all, and why. In the end, Sydney makes a shocking discovery that will forever alter the course of humanity’s destiny!

Book Three:
Immediately following the Malor invasion, Malia and Jaden Kwan have left Earth with the Othali, seeking a habitable planet in the distant reaches of the galaxy. But as they approach Mars, the ship’s engines fail. Entering orbit to make repairs, they discover evidence of ancient, technologically advanced life down on the surface. Malia and Jaden join the team going down to investigate.

But there is a traitor in their midst who kidnaps the twins and takes them to a clandestine organization back on Earth. They need the twins’ powers to achieve global conquest. Can Malia and Jaden eradicate this group in time to save humanity?

Book Four:
Reunited with Brian and Sydney, Jaden and Malia Kwan are now hunting down their nemesis, trying to stop him from killing off Salvatore’s brethren. But before long, they discover that the clandestine organization, Majestic, has infiltrated the highest levels of the United States government in preparation for global conquest. Can Malia and Jaden stop them before it’s too late?

Book Five:
A mysterious entity known only as “The Sphinx” is planning to exterminate humanity. But who—and where are they? And how—and when will they carry out their plans? Can Malia and Jaden find them before it’s too late?

Outstanding Science Fiction

It has been a while since I read and enjoyed a sci-fi series I enjoyed more than this. Not just one but two types of aliens involved in the earth s affairs. And of course they have infiltrated our government just like we always believed but there is more. And then there is more and then there is war! And who or what will the victor be? I want more can't wait until the next books come out. Fast paced - hard to put down - hard to sleep when you do! I saw dawn several times while reading the series. Bet you will too!

Somewhat repetitive narrative

I bought a 5 book box set. I shall not be buying the next 5 books.
Very little variance in descriptive text. Drawn out to multiple books by longwinded unnecessary descriptions of basic activity.
Became rather boring to read after book 1.
Simple plot.
May suit a 8-12 year old if it weren’t for the violence.

Aliens, lasers, plasma cannons!

Aliens invade, aliens fight aliens, humanity is doomed! Or is it? Teens with extraordinary abilities, humans with good ideas, aliens with superior technology: mayhem ensues.

Fun, complex concept

I felt it was too long and repetitive, but enjoyed the relationships and merging of legends and theories. If you don't mind being strung along, you will be entertained. I'd give if a C+

Fast-paced, thrilling adventure

This is a great read. A host of characters brought together by a boundless imagination. I'm off to buy the rest of the series right now.

Started off really well throughly enjoyed the first 3 books, it then got very predictable. Would be good reading for 12 to 5 year olds.

First book was ok. Bailed at 30% in second.
Grinding through a mix of alien visitor / abduction / secret invasion / destroy all humans concepts got tiring.

The Secret of Giza, my sixth read from author Ken Warner. After reading his Scroll of the Five Masters, five book series I knew I was reading an epic in the making so I jumped at the chance to read and review another of his books. Very different than that series this was another great read, staring out quickly and launching from there!

Abducted (The Kwan Thrillers, Book 2), my seventh read from author Ken Warner. Starting out quickly and launching from there, if you haven't read the first book you'll probably feel a bit lost! No spoilers here, buy the book, read the book and leave a review.

Mars Enigma (The Kwan Thrillers Book 3), my eighth read from author Ken Warner. Starting out seamlessly from book 2 and launching from there, if you haven't read the first two books you'll probably feel a bit lost! No spoilers here, buy the book, read the book and leave a review.

Majestic (The Kwan Thrillers Book 4), my eleventh read from author Ken Warner. Starting out seamlessly from book 3 and launching from there, if you haven't read the first three books you'll probably feel a bit lost!

The Riddle of the Sphinx (The Kwan Thrillers Book 5), my twelfth read from author Ken Warner. Starting out seamlessly from book 3 and launching from there, if you haven't read the first four books you'll probably feel a bit lost! “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Absolutely gripping

Oh my gosh, where to start? What a roller-coaster of a ride. I can't recommend this set highly enough..
From the first to the last it is an epic battle with characters you will deeply care about.
Mr Warner is a brilliant storyteller, weaving ancient alien theories with hidden worlds, Atlantis and beings from other worldly civilisations. It really has it all.
I loved this set.

Simple and easy read with a fun story

I admit. I binge read this series. Doing dishes, feeding myself and family, cleaning, sleeping, bathing.... all fell to the wayside as I remained enamored with this book series. The characters experienced growth. The action was simple yet fun and riveting. The technology, while out there, wasn’t insane or boring. This was a great easy read with a lovable and relatable cast.

review of "the secrets of Giza" by Ken Warner

When I started reading this series I had no idea where this story was headed but I found out pretty quick because I couldn't put it down. I thought it was ingenious how the author weaved people being abducted by aliens in a realistic way that made sense. The characters developed in a way that was far fetched but exciting as hell. I will be reading the sequel

Good storyline but could be better.

I enjoyed the premise of the story greatly and have to say it is worth a read, just not written as well as it could be.
A bit too much methodical detail and some impracticality, like no interference from world governments. Feels like a book for teenagers and perhaps it is.

Hooked on the first book

I read The Giza Project because I thought this was about ancient Egypt - I was wrong.
I was happily wrong! I got an offer to purchase the first 5 books in series and immediately bought them. Just finished reading the other night and today I bought book 6. Can’t wait to see what happens to the characters next.
Books were easy to read.

Captivating!!

Great easy read. Suitable for YA. The main characters are 15, if that helps you judge. I spent many sleepless nights reading and having to know what happens. Warning...this does end in a cliffhanger. Book 6 is not included in this bundle.

This book has plenty of action. Sometimes it bogs down a little. It took me 5 days to finish. Try it, you will like it.
