Grit, VP of the Dark Slayers MC, is everything my father ever warned me about. And more.

With all those rumors swirling around the man, any woman with common sense would run away from him and never look back.

But Grit burst into my life on my darkest day. He rescued me and gently carried my battered body into the blinding sunlight. He stood guard outside my hospital room to make sure my abductors couldn’t get to me again.

Since then, I can’t stop thinking about his dark eyes, intricate tattoos and chiseled body. I can still remember how he whispered to me in that rough voice of his that I was safe and everything would be okay.

But when a woman suddenly shows up and dumps a baby into his arms – I realize the rumors are true: Grit is a player, equally gifted in the kick boxing ring and between the sheets. And that’s the last thing I need when I’m trying to put my life back together. I can’t let myself crave him.

I should keep him at arm’s length, but I can’t. No matter how hard I try.

Luckily, Grit is determined to stay away, intent on being a good father for his little daughter.

But when the demons from my past resurrect, Grit is the only one who can keep me safe and help me get the justice I deserve.

There’s no escaping this passion between us. Could it be that a bond forged from fire can never be undone?

Grit’s story is the third book in the "Dark Slayers MC” hot and alluring romance series featuring bikers who will remind you why you like the bad boys so much. They’re protective, rough, and running on pure diesel and adrenaline.
Each book in the series is a standalone with a guaranteed happily ever after for the couple, though it is recommended to read them in order for maximum enjoyment.

A brilliant story.
Allison gets abducted and Grit is asked to come to her rescue, and so after such troubles Grit and Allison are are thrown together. Allison had came from a dysfunctional family, and she had endured to much for someone so young.
She is drawn to Grit, but he doesn’t do relationships and is seen as a player until he meets Allison, thing seem to be going well until a women from his past drops off a baby and claims it’s his.
A great plot that’s well written. Lot’s of questions to be answered. Grit has plenty of MC drama going on and so does his life. And will Allison be joining in with Grit?

Another Winner

Grit is the VP of the Dark Slayers MC and after being burned he has sworn off relationships until he sees a picture of Allison. Allison had been abducted and went through some very traumatic events which she has been trying to deal with. She has a special spot for Grit since he was the one who walked her out of her nightmare that day.

Now things are heating up but Grit has a surprise walk into his life with someone else in tow. Will this affect Allison’s position in his life? There is plenty of drama, suspense and steam in this book to make it a five star read.

I absolutely am in love with the series!! Grit saves Ali from a horrific situation and he falls for her in that moment. Ali is an emotional wreck after her ordeal but Grit is right by her side helping her through it because he can’t stay away. The story contains drama, suspense, passion and strength. Can’t wait for this series to continue!

This is the 3rd book in the Dark Slayers MC series. This book picks up where the second one left off. Ali was rescued by the Dark Slayers and Grit. Grit is the VP of the Slayers and Ali is the sister of Zoe (Storm’s wife). Grit had a very messed up childhood and the one woman he did love, messed him over pretty bad. Ali is going through the trauma of being abducted, beaten and sexually assaulted by her abductor. Only no one but her friend Grace from the rehab facility even knows that she was sexually assaulted. Ali did not want to share with anyone this had happened because she didn’t want the looks of pity and for people to treat her differently. Ali feels broken and is not sure what it is going to take to feel whole again.

From the moment Grit laid eyes on Ali’s photo when they were asked to look for her, he knew that she was the one for him. He would do anything to protect her and keep her safe. Ali was attracted to Grit as well, only she was told this is normal to feel something for your rescuer, but she felt like it went deeper than that. Read how Ali gets her strength back and see how much both Grit and Ali grow from this experience. Throw in a few twists, along with some bunnies who will say anything to throw Ali off of Grit and you will get your drama, passion, chemistry, trust, and strength. Great story with great characters. I cannot wait to see what Aria Ray comes up with next in this series! I’m hoping to see a story with Grace and her abusive ex or even a story with Lucas and Bethany. Although these are standalone books, I highly recommend reading Book 1 before this one to fully appreciate the backstory. Ali was kidnapped and tortured and rescued by Grit. After months of rehab in an institution she is home trying to find her new normal. Grit runs the gym owned by the club, he hires Ali to run the front desk and begins giving her self defense lessons. Both are fighting their attraction - both think they are "too damaged" for the other one. We know Ali's backstory and it is rehashed several times in this book but we never get to know Grit. His upbringing and childhood abuse is referenced a couple of times but the story is never really told. As a result I didn't feel as connected to these characters. Although its a good addition to the series, its not my favorite.

Sweet love story with dark topics

Grit & Allison: TRIGGERS: bombing, assault, fight club, rape, child abandonment. recovering from her recent kidnapping, Allison is now trying to get her life back together. The only place she feels safe is with the DSMC members, specifically Grit. Grit has not been able to forget about Allison since he pulled her out of that basement but believes he's no good for her. This book has insta love and a mention of the cult that bombed the clubhouse but there's no real ending to that part of the story. I was hoping for more on the cult, maybe a bigger, badder antagonist or more of a mystery but there's really nothing. It's just a love story. So it was ok but not really enough for me this time.

The formal and ‘Tracy Flick’ writing style just does not fit with MC books. It’s very off putting and cringeworthy. The storylines described sucks me in to pick up the book, but I have to force myself to push through the horrible writing style.

Grit and Ali the main MC’s barely interact with each other for 50% of the book then at the end they magically love each other and get engaged. There is hardly any spice only one scene at the end. Overall boring.

Same has the first 2

So this is the third book. Same has the first 2. Older guy, abuse woman, pregnant/has child. There was a good back story but nothing is happening. Come on, this book has all the right elements for a fantastic story! Sadly it falls short. Miss opportunity.

This is third book in the Dark Slayers MC series and is definitely another hot one. This story centers on two particular characters mentioned in the first book of this series, Grit and Alison. Alison is the sister of Zoe, the wife of the president of the Dark Slayers MC and in the first book she was missing and later discovered to be abducted by a man hired by her half sister from her father's "other" family. She was raped and beaten by this abductor with photos of her battered and abused body sent to her family in an attempt to get money from them. Grit is the VP of the Dark Slayers and the person who tenderly carried Alison out of the dark, dank basement she was held captive in as well as stood guard outside her hospital room all night. There is an instant attraction between the two of them that is undeniable and somewhat confusing to both of them. Alison questions whether her attraction to Grit comes from the fact that she sees him as her rescuer or if she is indeed attracted to the man himself. She ends up with a job at his gym as his front desk attendant and begins to see more of the complex man that Grit is. As for Grit, he's been attracted to her since the first time he saw Alison's picture when Zoe first went to them for help finding her. He felt an instant connection to her from that point on. During this time, there's also the MC having to deal with the consequences from tangling with a cult when they rescued Daniel, the MC sergeant at arms' son which occurred in book two. The cult has burned down their club house and has also threatened their family members and friends, telling them to back off and to leave them alone. Of course the Dark Slayers are not going to rest until they're disbanded and that the MC has dealt with each member, doling out their own justice. This is where I'll leave you so you'll have to get the book to find out what happens next. Let's just say that the relationship between Alison and Grit really heats up and questions arise to whether Grit is good relationship material or if his past will derail the newly blossoming one. I can, without any reservations, highly recommend getting this book because of the well crafted, strong characters and its original, gripping storyline. You won't be able to put it down once you start, it pulls you in that hard. The whole series, thus far, has been absolutely fantastic!

Alison and Grit do not have a strong presence in Storm's book, but they make such an impression that it's not hard to want more of their story. Alison was kidnapped and held for ransom, and when she's rescued, it's Grit who leads her away from the basement. It's such a small moment in the grand scheme of things, but it has the most profound impact. Their unbreakable bond is formed, but neither are ready for a path to the future. As a reader, this is one of my favorite tropes for MC novels, and I needed to know immediately how this was going to play out. I may have even thrown a childlike tantrum at Breaker that his book came before theirs.

The Good Parts:
-There's equal time spent between Grit and Alison's point of views. I think this gives their story an additional layer as you can understand what motivates them.

-The point of views don't overlap. For example: If Alison is talking about something and then the chapter ends, the next chapter is Grit in the future of that event. We don't get to see the same event from two different points of view. I really enjoyed that as I thought it progressed not only the character development but also the timeline a little quicker.

-There's a disagreement between Grit and Storm over Alison. At one point in the conversation, Storm calls Alison "Zoe's sister". Now that she's been rescued, it's no longer his problem. However, this doesn't sit well with Grit. He reminds Storm that she has a name. Grit recognizes that she's putting on a good face for everyone else, but the broken pieces inside of her haven't healed. It's because he's been through a similar life event that left him broken as well. This causes a rift between friends, but it's the first time that someone has fought for Alison. It's not a turning point, but I thought this portion was well done.

The Not So Good Parts:

- The level of storytelling that went into this book is absolutely phenomenal. It may be the best book in the series so far. However, it was noticeable that by the 70% mark, Alison and Grit were friends who flirted with each other, but there wasn't a real relationship. I would have liked to have seen them together a little more than what was presented.

-There was a plot point that I didn't think matched the rest of the story. For most of the book, Alison is trying to heal, and Grit is giving her the space to do so. He's not sure where his head's at. It's just not in a relationship. However, there is a character that is introduced towards the middle of the book that will have an impact on the end. I didn't mind the plot point, but I thought it could have been worked in better. I could see where it made sense in Grit's character development. It just seemed like a loose end that needed to be quickly tied.

I’d definitely recommend reading the series in order for the best reader’s experience because although this book can be read as a standalone, ya girl was confused. I’m new to the author and I had no idea who these characters were and what happened to their clubhouse.

The opening scene was Grit at their new temporary meeting spot at a abandoned gas station due to some cult destroying their last one?

It was honestly hard for me to stay engaged for a good chunk of the book just because I don’t know I couldn’t really connect with the characters at first. I think I would have had a better understanding or enjoyed it more if the opening scene was … either Alison getting taken or her getting saved just so I can experience not only her healing journey a little better but also get an understanding of how their interest in each other began.

I did love seeing Alison’s journey from being traumatized to being more comfortable with herself again and becoming a total badass. When she went off, she went offfff. Grit also has his fair share of insecurities and struggles so it was nice to see him overcome them as well.

“Today was filled with small victories. I decided to take my win and count my blessings.”

Overall I thought this was an okay read. There were times where I wasn’t truly convinced by their chemistry and felt like it was lacking just because I felt like there wasn’t enough scenes with just the two of them to build up their connection but when they were together and had their playful banters and rare intimate scenes, I thought it was fun to read. I just wish they had more scenes together rather than with other people.

The Best One Yet........This is the third book in the Dark Slayers MC series and an awesome addition to the series. We met Alison in book 1. She is the sister of Zoe, the wife of the president of the MC. In that book she was missing and had been abducted, physically and emotionally abused, and held for ransom. Grit is the VP of the MC and the man who carried Alison out of the basement she was held captive in as well as stood guard outside her hospital room while she recovered. There is an instant attraction, but is she too broken, does he feel sorry for her, is this attraction real. When she goes to work for him, she sees the real man for who he is and just cares for him more. This book is fast paced, has action, a ton of steam, and so much more. This series has been awesome and you can binge read all three books from this series for FREE with your KU subscription. You will love these books.

After Grit rescued Ali it was meant to be a new start for her, but even after rehab she couldn't let go of the memories, but she soon felt safe for the first time in long while being around Grit working at his Gym. Ali sees a caring side to Grit and feelings grow between them, but that soon shatters when a women shows up leaving a baby in Grits arms and home truths about Grits way with women come to light. Grit never saw himself settling down and having family in his future til Ali, but wanting to do what's right Grit takes on the parent roll to his daughter, but can they be a family?  Well written, suspense filled story with action  desires, hot scenes, laughter and more a great addition to the series

This was a good continuation of the story involving the Dark Slayers MC and a cult operating in their neighborhood. It is advertised as a standalone book, but I would recommend reading the books in order to fully understand the characters. In this book, Allison is recovering from a horrific kidnapping and must deal with her emotions, her father's culpability and taking back her life. She tries to understand her feelings for Grit as her rescuer or does she feel more for him. I loved how Allison's character developed over time as she grew more confident and dealt with her past. Meanwhile, the cult is still operating and the MC has to figure out how far reaching the cult exists while protecting their loved ones.

The series is difficult to give a rating as I like the characters, but the plot is sometimes so convoluted to be unbelievable.

Ray did a phenomenal job when she wrote Grit. He is a tough, alpha man, who loves fiercely.

About the book:
Grit is the VP for the MC. The Slayers are the only family that he has. Grit is dependable, owns a gym, and treats women and children tenderly. When he rescues Alison from an underground basement, he does everything he can to make sure she is safe.
Alison/Ali has a hard time coming back from the torture she received. It wakes her up at night, and everyone asking how she is makes it hard for her to move on.

I recommend this book. I like these characters immensely! Alison is stronger than she thinks, and compassionate, loving, and dedicated to becoming better. Grit is an amazing man. He knows all about abuse, but at the same time, he knows what it takes to be the better you! Bravo Ray!

A love was formed from a kidnapping and abuse!

This story of Grit and Ali shows how true love can be formed from a bad situation. Ali was kidnapped by her stepsister who was angry and hurt by the betrayal of their father. One man with two families treated differently. Grit saw Ali’s pictures when they were sent demanding money and he knew he had to find and protect her. When he rescued her from the basement he knew he had found the love of his life. The drawback, she was young. He tried to stay away. Ali knew Grit was the man for her but she had to deal with her PTSD. With the help of her sister Zoe and her friend Grace along with the Dark Slayers she became a stronger woman. I liked this story because the author showed that love an overcome a tragedy. Worth reading!

A nice story about a sweet couple. In the beginning I had to get into the story. I’;ve read the other books in the series as well, but if it;s been a while. I feel they’re getting better by each book. They are separate ( love) stories, but there is a continuing story, and reoccurring characters, so it’’s easier ( and much more fun) to follow if you read them as a series.
Grit and Alison’s attraction grows and seems to be briefly disrupted by the arrival of a baby, but they manage to find each other anyway. Well written, I could sympathize with the feelings of the main characters, Grit and Alison show their vulnerable side

Grit #3 12/29/2021

Allison was kidnapped by monsters that where hired by her stepsister to get money from their dad. Her sister Zoe and the President of the MC team up to find Allison and Breaker son Daniel who is also missing. They find Allison in Texas but they don’t find Daniel. Grit brings her out of the basement of the old warehouse and then stands guard to keep her safe. But she need more help to recover so she goes to rehab but when she comes back it’s still hard to get her life back. After taking a job and Grits gym he try’s really hard no to be attached but he just can’t resist. And it doesn’t help that Allison wants him to. So enjoy another good story and see how hard Allison’s recover is but what helps her get her life back!!

Time to move on.

I don't know how I feel another book. Allison was Zoe's sister that got kidnapped and grit. Fell for her. This book held a lot of triggers that may cause a lot of people some serious p. T s d. If you read the other two books you know that what she went through is heartbreaking and no woman should go through any of that. The book itself just play that very slow. And again there was nothing exciting about it. It was just slow. The last 30% or so, maybe 20% of the book is where a little more things happen. Ian's it gets a little better. I don't know really how to explain this book. It is a slow burn with like a hero complex, but love at first sight possibly. Throw in a secret baby, some angry bunnies. And finally a cereal rapist.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Grit and Alison have a connection from the day he takes her from hell. They do not want to be apart but life may keep them that way. She is trying to overcome all the trauma and abuse. He now has a daughter in the picture that he needs to focus on. He cannot let Alison get hurt again though. This story has plenty of drama, danger, heartache, betrayal and abuse. It also has two people who find love and get a chance at a family together.

Grit has a dark troubled life so he is a one-night stand kinda guy but when he rescues Alison from the guy that kidnapped her he feels things for the much younger woman but he knows she is too innocent and sweet for the likes of him. Alison only feels safe with Grit so she starts working at the MC gym that he runs just so she can be around him but she soon finds out that he is not the settling down type when a woman walks in and hands him a daughter that he never knew he had. Grit has tried to do the right thing but resisting Ali but the more time he spends with her the more he wants her but now she is giving him the cold shoulder. Will Grit and Ali have a future together?

Good read to continue the series

I am reading the series and enjoying each couple. This book is about Grit and Alison. Grit was the person to help free Alison from the dark basement and bring her to her sister Zoe. Grit guarded her hospital room when Alison was unable to speak and traumatized. Grit took a liking to Alison and Alison to Grit. However they both denied their feelings and felt that they were not worthy. Alison start to work at the gym that Grot manages so these two are literally thrown together without a way to hide their attraction. The cult members are still reeking havoc on the MC. Read On!

She has had to endure what no young woman should, and she has a dysfunctional family that doesn't understand her turmoil. She is drawn to Grit, but he is also seen as a player who doesn't do relationships until he comes across Allison but when a woman from his past drops off a baby, will it send Allison going in the opposite direction? Great!

I chose this rating because this was a really great book. I really enjoyed most all of the characters. Well all of the characters except except one. This was a book of integrity, patients, protection, and also getting your life back. I enjoyed grit and Allison's story. The author did a great job with putting these characters together. They really understood each other and he understood how she felt after what she went through. This was a very interesting book. Some parts were heart warming as well. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers and MC lovers..

Grit & Allies story

Bk3 Grit & Alis story. Grit is VP in the Slayers. Ali is Zoes sister. We met them both when Zoe was getting help looking for Ali from the Dark Slayers and she fell in love with Storm. Grit was the one who rushed into the warehouse where they were holding Ali and brought her up protecting her with his life, standing guard at her bedside while she was in hospital.

The bond between the pair only grows when she gets home & needs a job so starts working at the gym.

Really enjoyed watching Ali's character grow after the trauma she endured. Really pleased Grit & Ali got their HEA. Looking forward to read about their future in bk4

Grit rescues Alison from the cult. She has a hard road to recover from the things that were done to her. Grit tries to keep away from her but he just can’t. Something about her just draws him in, he can’t explain it. When Grit gets an unexpected delivery he has to change the way he acts. Will Alison be able to recover from the things the cult did to her? Will Grit be able to handle the unexpected change to his life. Can the two of them get past their issues to become a couple?

This is the 3rd book in the series and in it we finally get Grit's story. Grit and Allison get to meet each other when Grit rescues Allison after she's been kidnapped. Grit takes her out of the basement and a bond is formed. Allison sees Grit as a player so even though she's drawn to him she doesn't know if he's capable of settling down. It doesn't help his cause when a surprise is left on his doorstep. Will Grit and Allison get their HEA? You need to read this book to see what happens with them.
