Shadow Falls #4

Shadow's Wrath

Rate this book
You can’t run from monsters when you are one.

Remi
I’ve spent years denying what I am. Dante Sentire makes me want to risk it all for one complicated touch. It’s not simple when a single embrace could destroy everything I’ve fought to keep hidden. He’s not my only problem. There’s a new player in Shadow Falls recruiting supernatural beings for their exclusive society, and they want me. What does it say when the bad guys ask you to join their club?

Dante
Remi Sullivan is mine. She knows it even if she’s not ready to admit it. I’ve been patient, but I’m done waiting. Remi can run all she wants, but I’ll always catch her. The Brotherhood creeping into town is an unwelcome reminder of my past. When they pursue Remi, all bets are off. No more biding my time. I’m going to claim what’s mine.

Hot freakin' damn. Dante and Remi is the hottest of the series so far. I know with each book I say I loved it best, but there was something about their story that grabbed me by the soul and didn't let go. I loved it. Their sarcasm, wit, and just the right amount of insecurity was everything I needed their story to be. Not to mention they were so effing HOT!

I love this series - it's no secret. Great writing, great character development and enough badass women to make this feminist a happy woman. Can't wait for book 5!

I was offered an ARC to read against an honest review, and didn't know what to expect. I hadn't read paranormal fantasy or paranormal romance in ages, probably years, and had never read anything from this author.
Shadow's Wrath is the fourth in a series, and I came at it with no previous knowledge of the world or characters.
But Lizzy Prince's writing bewitched me right away; from the first chapter, I was hooked, and I wasn't even in the present moment yet (in the series). The further into the book I got, the deeper I fell under its spell. The story is expertly woven, no detail is forgotten nor do they feel superficial, the characters are so well developed you don't even realise they are not real, and even more, supernatural. Their relationships are very relatable, and there wasn't a moment where I thought 'this doesn't make sense' or would have liked more explanation.
A few times, as I read this book, I was reminded of reading the Twilight series, even though they differ in many ways (there are many more sorts of supernaturals in Shadow's Wrath, the couple is not between a vampire and a human, etc.). This is how good this book is (yes, I loved reading the Twilight series!). All I can wish this author is to have the same sort of success as Stephenie Meyer did.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the first three books now, and I am really looking forward to Lizzy Prince writing the next volume!

I’ve only just discovered Lizzy Prince and she is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. I can’t put her books down and Shadow’s Wrath is no different. I have been reading every chance I get and listening to it when I’m cooking dinner or driving in the car. Loved the characters, they are so likeable, and you completely empathise with them. They are very well written and the character development throughout the story is brilliant. I love the way she has written the main villain I felt all horrible (something crawling all over my skin) every time his character was in the book, and when I think about him now. As always there are some hot moments that again are very well written as the main characters explore their relationship. I like how the book touches on all the other couples and if I’m right introduces the next couple in a very subtle way. The book is a pleasure to read and can be read as a stand alone or as part of the series. If you have read the other books chances are you are already hooked anyway, but you don’t feel like you are learning everything again, but as a first time reader you get all the information you need about the group and the town they live in to fall completely in love with it. The perfect book to read for a bit of escapism.

4.5 stars! Great book! Dante and Remi are literally perfect for each other. Both are snarky, sexy, and fiercely loyal. Remi has avoided touch as much as possible, living her whole life being told her magic, and she herself, was evil and dangerous. But she’s managed to build a small, tight group of friends around her that have always had her back, despite keeping herself at arms length. When she meets Dante, there’s an instant attraction - but what she didn’t know was that she marked him as her mate when she touched him. Dante knows Remi is worth waiting for, and he doesn’t want to scare her away, so he waits. Time jump - four years later. A malevolent group has come to their small, supernatural town, looking to stir up trouble and upset the power balance, and they want Remi. So Dante finally decides to make his move, and will do whatever he needs to in order to protect her.

There’s plenty of action, the sexual tension is fantastic - even their first kiss is freaking fireworks! And as secrets are revealed, and truths are brought to light, passion ignites. When Dante and Remi work together, when they aren’t fighting their feelings (especially her), they are literally magic. Their relationship is smoke and flame, and everyone around them has been waiting for it too!

Love this world as well. The small town feel, but it’s a town full of supernaturals of all kinds, is so much fun. The interactions, the camaraderie, the found family, the banter. Oh the banter! Yeah, this book was a lot of fun to read, and it was a great story on all accounts.

Shadow's Wrath is the fourth book in the Shadow Falls universe. We follow Dante and Remi as they slowly but surely find their way to each other. I feel for them. On the one hand, you have Remi who has so many scars from her chilhood that she forbids herself from ever touching anyone and living in constant fear of her abilities and true identity. On the other hand, there is Dante who also has a horrific past but got over it and waited for four years for Remi to do the same. Thank God they finally got over themselves and worked toward their HEA! The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I would have liked to see more details about Remi's and Dante's pasts and the brotherhood's history. Apart from that, I really liked the book! There is a surprisingly arrousing fight scene, a very dark power-seeking cult and a great bunch of characters from previous books. Also, for those of you who crave all the feels, you'll want to read this book. Because of the type of supernatural creatures that are Dante and Remi, there are feelings and emotions in everything page!

I have liked Remi ever since she came into the series in the first book. I love her attitude of not being afraid to say what’s on her mind. When Dante was first introduced into the series I wasn’t sure whether I liked him or not. He seem to hang back a lot, he did help his friends when they needed him, but he also seemed like kind of a jerk. I new that Remi and Dante had some kind of history by the way those two acted towards each other in previous books but I’m glad that this book finally tells their story. I felt bad for Remi because all her life her mother told her she was evil and she could not touch anyone without hurting them. Fortunately, she finds out differently with Dante. Remi is not the monster she believed herself to be she’s something totally different and we finally get to find out what kind of creature Dante is in this book. I hope there will be another book in the series.

Dante and 4 friends and their mates went to club and he touched Remi he got a mate tattoo but didn’t tell her Remi was picked up outside her apartment building by the Brotherhood to get her to work on their side but she didn’t commit. Dante was held captive by them tortured. Remi finds out what her powers were and how to use them. Love the ending!

A vivid imagination by the author created an intriguing story that was simply fascinating. I fell for these characters who had such interesting backstories. I found the story engaging with green scenes and good dialogue. I requested a copy of this book and am voluntarily writing a review.

There was good character growth in this one. I liked the storyline and that previous characters made more than a passing appearance. Now I’m also ridiculously curious about Nash. I loved how patient Dante was and that he was sneaky but in a good way. It was the only way anyone would have been able to get through to Remi.

This supernatural novel develops in a small town called Shadow Falls where Vampires, demons, witches and werewolves live in harmony. Of course there is a greedy and power hungry organisation who wishes to upset this balance.

Dante is an empath demon. All his best friends are of different species. They are all mated, but he is still waiting for the fated one.

Remi has been misled by her mother and believes that she is evil. When Dante sees her for the first time, he is instantly aware of who she is. She avoids contact for fear of hurting anyone. She develops a friendship and Dante, but keeps him at armlength. Their friendship thrives and develops into what it's meant to be when she learns of her true nature. Nothing like what she has been led to believe all these years. At the same time, the brotherhood is trying to recruit her for their evil purpose. Knowing that at some point that Dante has been in their clutches, it gives her the creeps. It's a dangerous situation and she intends to play her role in dismantling them. Will they succeed or will their evil ploy come to fruition?

It's well portrayed and the banters between Dante and Remi are fun to watch. The friendship between all the friends is solid. They always look out for each other. There is no enough suspense to hold the reader's interest. Remi's nature is not revealed until quite late in the story. The romance is heartwarming and steamy in places. It's an interesting concept a that makes for an exciting read.

I received an eARC from BookSirens and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

From beginning to end I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The plot and storyline was good. It was a actual standalone where even though I haven't read the previous books in the series I didn't feel lost or confused. All the characters, main and side, were very likeable as well. I loved that the fmc even in the beginning when you didn't quite understand her, wasn't weak and whiny and she grew into herself. Both the main characters had good chemistry together and it made reading their story enjoyable. I would definitely read the next book and if the previous books are about the other couples I'll be going back to read those as well
