Silver Leaf Falls #6

Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls

Rate this book
This meddling matchmaker is creating her own Christmas magic for her niece and the handsome single dad next door…

Usually, Viviene pours herself into her job as a corporate event planner over the holidays. This year, her boss insisted she use her vacation time. A relaxing visit to her great-aunt Gertie in the snowy small town of Silver Leaf Falls sounds perfect with hot cocoa in front of the fireplace. She didn’t expect Gertie's next-door neighbor to be Lincoln Murphy—a boy she knew from her childhood holiday visits with Gertie.

Lincoln Murphy fully embraces the Christmas season. Partly for his daughter’s sake and partly because life is short and being a Scrooge never made anyone happy. When Viviene comes to visit and is staying right next door, Lincoln can’t help but remember the boyhood crush he had on her. But Viv is heading back to Florida after the holidays, and Lincoln would never risk his daughter's heart on a fling.

But great-aunt Gertie has other plans for Viv and Linc. The two conveniently end up paired together for holiday activities during the Silver Leaf Falls Christmas Festival. The holidays are full of surprises, but is the magic of Christmas enough to give Viv and Linc their merrily-ever-after?

A sparkling, feel-good romance filled to the brim with small town traditions, Christmas cheer, and the reason for the season. Prepare to be whisked away to a holiday filled with ice skating, sledding, crackling fires, and kisses sweeter than a sugar cookie.

***

Return to Silver Leaf Falls, Vermont, and enjoy the friendships, love, and happily-ever-afters in this sweet, small town romance.

If Hallmark is looking for their next Christmas book-to-movie adaptation, they've found it here! Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls was full of swoon-worthy scenes and holiday cheer. I can easily see Chad Michael Murray and Candace Cameron playing the part of Lincoln Murphy and Viviene Thompson!

From the meddling matchmaker, Gertie, to the sweet six-year-old, Mabel, this story is sure to give you all the Christmas feels while you revel in the magic of Christmas. I highly recommend this story!

Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls is like getting hooked into a Hallmark movie. Holiday traditions, sweet romance and beautiful winter scenes.
I love matchmaker Aunt Gertie who loves to meddle in everyone’s lives. She has been a recurring character throughout the other Silver Leaf Fall stories.
A wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit.

I received an ARC prior to publication and decided to voluntarily review it.

If you are in the mood for a giggle worthy, Hallmark-esque Christmas book...you HAVE to read this one, you will absolutely adore it. It has everything from scheming aunt's, holiday traditions, yummy treats, and so much sweetness you may get a toothache. I sat down to read for a few minutes and melted into the pages. Before I knew it, my cocoa was gone, candy cane eaten, and the book was ending was beautifully. You will not want to miss this magical story about finding joy in Christmas. You will feel like you plunged yourself into the Hallmark holiday channel and you won't want to leave.

Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls is my absolute favorite from the series. I love how big of a part Gertie plays, she is so funny and her schemes are the best. Every character was amazing, and easy to picture as you're reading. The storyline flows better than freshly melted chocolate, and the sweetness of the romance could make even the Grinch smile.

If you haven't read this book (heck, the entire serious) I don't just reccomended you read it, I insist you do. This story will make you happy, and come on...you want to be happy at Christmas right? Of course you do! Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls and the entire Silver Leaf Falls series will bring you that happiness and Christmas joy just like with the first lick of a candy cane, first sip of hot cocoa, and the perfect blanket after a chilly day in the snow.

Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls was the perfect end to the novella series, and by far my favorite book to read. I was immediately drawn into the heart-warming story as the author, Brittney Joy, does such an amazing job creating swoon-worthy scenes and depicting charming Christmas traditions.

The character development was so well done that it was easy to feel the tug of emotions and deepening love between Viv, the heroine, and Lincoln, the hero in the story. Each page had me imagining the most perfect Hallmark Christmas movie! I highly recommend grabbing your favorite cup of coffee and curling up to read this sweet and cheerful book.

This was a wonderful, friends to lovers' kind of story. This book is a true Hallmark story ready to be turned into a movie.

Viviene works nonstop at her job as a corporate event planner, but this year her boss insisted she take a couple weeks off and go home for Christmas. Bib loved her Aunt Gertie and felt bad for not going home more often because she was the only family she had.

Viv goes home to her small town of Silver Leaf Falls, but never expected to see Lincoln who was a boy from her childhood, living right next door to her Aunt with his daughter Mabel. They had crushes on each other when they were young. Who knew it would turn into anything as adults.

Viv had always planned on going back to her job in Florida, but was becoming attached to Linc's daughter Mabel, and also began getting feelings toward Linc.

Viv's dear Aunt Gertie had other plans for the two and fakes a sprained ankle to push them together to work as a team in the town's Christmas festival.

This was such a wonderful small town sweet romance kind of story between two kids with a crush that turned into a true romance. Both were afraid to pursue anything, but in the end feelings took over.

This is a new author to me, and I loved the way she wrote this book and kept you entertained. I literally couldn't put it down.

I highly recommend this holiday, swoony, delightful tale! As others have stated, it should be a TV movie! I can picture a mischievous 6-year-old, a matchmaking great-aunt and two childhood friends who are now adults and trying to recapture the magic of their earlier connection. The scenes play out like a great holiday movie in a small town with all the holiday festivities going on and the main characters being "forced" to be on the same teams (although they secretly enjoy it!). I loved Mabel, the little girl. She was a treasure. So was Gertie who is the town "grandma" but is heavily into matchmaking! I appreciated Vivienne's struggle to decide whether to stay in Vermont or return to Florida where her job was - that is a real struggle for people when deciding on a relationship! All around, an endearing holiday book!

Another really good sweet, clean Christmas romance taking place in Silver Leaf Falls. Just what the season calls for!

This is the story of really good friends who find their way back together after years apart. Will the combination of his little girl, Grandma Gertie and the holiday season be enough to bring them together for good?

I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

This novella was SO CUTE. The whole series has been so incredibly enjoyable. I love this small Vermont town and all of its residents we’ve come to know.

Vivian is a workaholic and never takes down time for herself but circumstances come about where she comes back to Silver Leaf falls for a visit after 15 years away. She is the great niece of our beloved local matchmaker Gertie. (And Gertie certainly did some matchmaking in this novella as well lol.)
Lincoln is the “boy next door” who takes care of his sweet daughter Mable as a single dad. He works as a 7th grade history teacher at the local school.

Lincoln and Viv were great friends when they were kids and it translated right through to adulthood even with a 15 year gap in between. They are often together during Vic’s vacation and have so many fun and sweet moments together. Relay race, checkers game, baking competition, ice skating, and time spent together on the path between houses.

They made such a sweet couple and really complimented each other. I very much enjoyed their story! Great addition to this cute series!

I received an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Magic of Christmas . . .

Viviene is a known workaholic as a corporate event planner. Her boss finally insists that she take vacation and visit her family this year. She hasn’t seen her great-aunt Gertie who lives in Silver Leaf Falls for many years. Memories of hot cocoa in front of the fireplace entice her home. And she is surprised to find Gertie's next-door neighbor is Lincoln Murphy, whom she remembered from visits with Gertie when she was growing up.

Lincoln Murphy loves Christmas, especially with his sweet daughter Mabel to share the joy. When he sees Viviene is next door, he recalls the crush he used to have on her. No use starting something, however, when she will be returning to Florida after the holidays end. It’s a good thing great-aunt Gertie has plans of her own for Viv and Linc, however. As she manipulates their schedules during the Christmas Festival to keep them together, they just might be feeling the spirit of Christmas. Will Viv think about staying beyond the holidays – like maybe forever?

Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls is the perfect holiday addition to the wonderful Silver Leaf Falls series. Brittney Joy has written a sweet, wholesome story with delightful characters that will surely put you in the Christmas spirit. You will fall in love with Viviene, Lincoln and his adorable little girl, Mabel.

Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls is Book #6 in the Silver Leaf Falls series. Each book is written by a different author. The authors have written sweet, clean stories filled with love and wonderful characters.

I really enjoyed this sweet clean romance series. Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls can be read as a standalone, but I recommend that you read the whole series. New residents of Silver Leaf Falls are introduced in each book and reappear in the following books. The authors have collaborated to create a wonderful uplifting series. The Silver Leaf Falls series would be a great binge read as you sit by the fire on a cold winder night.

This is Viviene Thompson and Lincoln Murphy's story.
The evening was ending, but Viviene Thompson had one more surprise up her sleeve.
She was going to make it snow. In Florida. On the beach.
Because what holiday party would be complete without a few snowflakes?
The school bell rang, and Lincoln Murphy’s seventh-grade class popped up from their desks, excited for the weekend.
“Remember, your only homework is to think about a person from history that interests you.
Someone we learned about this year in class. Next week we’ll learn how to research your chosen person.
I highly recommend reading.
Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls by Brittney Joy is a wonderful well written 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Brittney Joy.

I had so much fun writing this! Christmas is my favorite holiday and I found myself pouring a million fun traditions into Viv & Linc's romance... baking Christmas cookies, ice skating under the stars, and competing in a fun (and slightly disastrous) Holiday relay... I hope this story warms your heart, just as it did mine! XOXO, Brittney

Reading a book set in Silver Leaf Falls is like returning home to see friends and family.  I really like the quaint, small town and this book with all of its fun Christmas activities and contests did not disappoint me.  I am so glad Viviene was able to find her Christmas spirit again through the help of her Great Aunt Gertie and her best friend, Lincoln.  It was fun to see there seemed to be no time lost between the two when they remet.  That scene in the book was so much fun to read.  Lincoln has a  cute daughter named Mable and she is in first grade.  It was nice to see the joy that Viviene brought to Mable who had lost her mom when she was a baby.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Christmas in Silver Leaf Falls by Brittney Joy.
A fantastic book brilliantly written and an interesting story.
Single dad Lincoln, lives next door to Gertie, the loveable older lady that has children in the town calling her grandma Gertie. Viviene her great niece who lives in Florida has returned to Silver Leaf Falls in Vermont for the Christmas season.
Lincoln and Vivi used to play together when they were younger.
Can the magic of Christmas bring these two together? What has Gertie got in mind?
I totally loved this, I was hooked from the very first beginning until the last.
I hope these wonderful authors who have created this amazing set of stories, bring more to the series.
Thank you,Brittany, amazing book of which I highly recommend.

Viviene worked so much that she'd forgotten how to have fun and enjoy the holidays. Lincoln is all about making Christmas fun for his daughter Mabel. After losing his wife he wasn't interested in another woman until his childhood friend Viviene comes back into their lives, but he's afraid to risk his and his daughter's hearts when she'll be leaving soon. It wasn't discussed what Viviene would do if she stays in Silver Leaf Falls. She's moved from job to job and gathered skills so I'm sure she could find something, but for someone who likes to schedule everything nothing seemed to be finalized in the book. Mabel was sweet with her love of large Christmas displays and affection for everyone. Matchmaker Aunt Gertie was a riot with her playacting.

Workaholic Viviene Thompson is told by her boss that the office is closing for two weeks over Christmas. She is not sure what to do with herself. She decides to go visit her aunt Gertie in Silver Leaf Falls.
Unknown to her, her aunt's neighbor is her old friend Lincoln. He has lost his wife and is raising his child on his own.
As aunt Gertie does her best to push them together. They realize that they have something special, but what can you do when you live so far away from each other. They are both too afraid to share how they really feel.
After some contemplation and discussion they find they can make it work after all.
I was given an ARC of this book and left this review voluntarily. All opinions expressed are my own.

Viviene didn't expect to end of in Silver Leaf Falls, but she is enjoying her time with great-aunt Gertie and unexpectedly also with her next door neighbor Lincoln and his sweet daughter Mable. Being back in Silver Leaf Falls brings up memories of being there when she was younger as well as growing feelings for not only Lincoln but also Mable and the more times she spends with them the more she struggles with her feeling, especially with where she is at with her career and what would happen with that if she decides on love. You get a sweet story, plenty of laughs as well as some highs and lows and finish with a smile on your face.

A wonderful book. Throughout this series, I have enjoyed “Grandma Gertie” and her matchmaking schemes. This book opened up her home and her family to me. Her niece, Viviene, came to stay with her for the Christmas holiday. She reunites with her childhood friend Lincoln. Gertie matches them together and the fun begins.
The story is sweet and kind. I completely enjoyed reading this book. It is a fun, flirty, clean romance. The short novella style of this whole series allowed me to finish in one sitting. I appreciate the way this book continues the characters from the whole series. The entire series has been phenomenal!

Brittney Joy is a new to me author and I enjoyed my introduction to her in this book. I was definitely in the mood for a feel good Christmas book and this delivered just that. The plot could easily be made into a Christmas feel good movie. The story revisits some previous characters in the series as well as introducing new ones. Once again, Silver Leaf Falls sounds like an ideal little place to be.
This book is a good choice to curl up by the fire for an evening of gentle reading - low on angst, high on feel good.

No sex, language or violence

While I have enjoyed most of the Silver Leaf Falls books so far, this one was definitely my least favourite thus far.
Instead of being hilarious and the town's snoopy (but beloved) grandma, Grandma Gertie struck me as being conniving and manipulative. She wasn't as interesting or fun.
And the whole romance seemed rushed and forced.
It was a fun book, but it moved way too fast and the characters weren't nearly as lovable in my opinion. My main problem with this book, I think, was that it just wasn't the style that I normally enjoy.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

Everything sounds so amazing and magical in Silver Leaf Falls, I would love to visit or live there myself. Viviene being forced to take time off for Christmas was the best thing that could ever have happened for her. I loved that she regains her Christmas spirit through the many Christmas festival activities she is involved in thanks to Great Aunt Gertie. Her friendship with Lincoln takes off right where it left off 15 years ago but this time develops into more. I loved this novel and the magical Christmas spirit in Silver leaf.

Another great story from Silver Leaf Falls, and this one focuses on Aunt Gertie's family.
Vivienne finds herself with time off and goes back to Silver Leaf Falls. Her childhood best friend Lincolnlives next store to her aunt with his young daughter Mabel, who is a hoot.
Gertie is still match making and asks Lincoln to help her niece get her Christmas spirit back.
As the two join in the many Christmas activities available Vivie 's Christmas spirit returns but so too does her attraction to Lincoln.
Lincoln too is getting feelings for her but what about his daughter?
This is a sweet Hallmark style book.

This is the last installment to this series with a new to me author. I really enjoyed her writing style of getting to the point then moving on and keep the flow going. She added some fun elements to this romance that brings up the interest level for me. I loved Grandma Gertie has relatives that get to come visit and be with her since it has been a long time. Gertie has a single next door neighbor who happens to be raising his daughter on his own. Will Grandma Gertie get her niece together with her neighbor and restore her Christmas spirit? This is such a fun read and, like the others, can stand alone.

A wonderful sweet, clean Christmas romance. Viviene and Lincoln were childhood friends. Viviene returns to Silver Leaf Falls for Christmas. Watching their journey from friends to falling in love is just the right thing to refresh your Christmas spirit. Loved to finally meet part of Grandma Gertie’s family. Gertie is a lovable, mischievous matchmaker that is a part of the entire series. Absolutely loved reading this and highly recommend it.

What a wonderful conclusion to this series! Viviene and Lincoln’s story is a delight from the minute he found her stuck in a snowbank until the last page. Grandma Gertie (in this case great aunt Gertie) is again in her matchmaking ways. I loved the town of Silver Leaf Falls and all the characters, festivals and holiday spirit. This one is a stand alone but do yourself a big favor and start at the beginning. You won’t regret it!

My favorite of a great series! I have enjoyed all of the Silver Leaf Falls books but this one was my favorite! :) It was such a sweet story. I love that the books all include characters from the other books in the series. This is a great book for the Christmas season! I think you would enjoy it even if you haven’t read the other books. Although it is fun to see Gertie playing matchmaker with her own niece! :)
