D.M. Davis' Doctor Heartbreak is a second-chance, doctor-patient, heartbreaking romance of loss and unrealistic promises that threaten to keep Dani forever lonely and break the only organ Dr. Heartgrove doesn't know how to fix.

I'm intimately familiar with the brain, but it's the heart that's giving me trouble.

I found her in a bar.
Red hair and a rocking body teasing me with promises her eyes threaten to keep.
She marked me without saying a word.
Tattooed her name on my soul.
One night was all we had.
Come morning she was gone.

Eight months later, I find my redheaded temptress on my gurney, holding a little boy like he's her lifeline.
Turns out he's her nephew, and the only promises she's capable of keeping are those made to her dead sister.

We may have started out as a drunken romp, but I've no intention of letting that be all we are.
I want more than one night.
I want forever.

When Dani wakes up in the ER, the man of her fantasies staring down at her, can she find room for him among her family obligations, or will she run as fast as she can, living for others instead of herself?

Intended for mature audiences.

I loved reading about Dani and Flint! When they met at a bar, Dani was going thru a family tragedy. Flint happened to be there to comfort her for the night. Fast forward 8 months later and they meet again in what could have been another tragedy, at none other than the hospital, where he’s a doctor. She’s there with her nephew, who she has been helping her brother in law to take care of. Flint does everything in his power to keep Dani. Dani’s main objective is to help take care of her nephew, not get involved with someone. Their chemistry is just unbelievable, their passion is undeniable, and I couldn’t put this book down. It’s all about should they or shouldn’t they be together in the end. Flint is definitely a man who goes after what he wants and won’t let up. Dani is such an amazing person who, in my opinion, deserves to be happy. Will they both get their happy ending? You won’t want to miss a minute of this page turner.

I wanted something quick and enjoyable to read on Valentine's Day and Doctor Heartbreak filled my prescription! This is the second book I've read in this new Doctors of Eastport General series and my first book by this author. I have NOT been disappointed in either! Flint and Dani's story captured my attention from the beginning. The characters were interesting and brought the drama. Flint was very Alpha, knew what he wanted and intended on getting it. Dani was smart and capable, but held back by severe trauma in her young life. Her nephew, Henry, was the most adorable, wise-beyond-his-years 5-year-old I've read about in some time. I really enjoyed him. Flint and Dani, as a couple, were combustible. There was plenty of steam in this story. Ok, so I did find some "stretch-the-imagination" moments, but this is a quick-read, action-packed romance and it fit the bill in that regard. I enjoyed it, and I bet you will too! Grab it!

Dani & Flint met at a bar, and ended up hooking up that night, but by the time he woke up, she was gone. He never stopped thinking about her, but had no way to get in touch with her until she ended up at his hospital. He's determined that he won't let her go again, but Dani is dealing with some serious guilt that won't make anything easy since she's determined to take care of her deceased sister's family. I could seriously feel the guilt that Dani is carrying around, as I've carried around this type of guilt throughout life, and it's impossible to shed to be honest. Doctor Heartbreak was a very addictive read with a kicker of steam beside the emotional parts that I couldn't get enough of, and now it's your turn to experience it after you hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I loved this book, the chemistry between Dani and Flint is off the charts. I hate that it starts from tragedy and then a near fatal train wreck is what reunites them, but the way Flint, Dr. Heartgrove, doesn’t let go and pursues Dani is the type of love and devotion every woman wants and needs.

And the one time he lets go, is so that Dani can choose him and their love.

Little Henry is a dream five year old nephew who adores his aunt Dani and I liked Flint’s mother, Emily as well.

True connections, hot sex, finding your ‘one’ and a precocious nephew make this a great romance.

Time to stop running and getting caught never felt so right

Wow! The first chapter of Doctor Heartbreak: Doctors of Eastport General by D.M. Davis reeled me in with explosive action then held me captive with the pursuit of love to the end. And the characters!? Spectacular!!! Flint is just about as dreamy-alpha as anyone could possible want. His little runner, Dani, is troubled, traumatized and wrecked with misplaced guilt, but sweet and loving while also as perfect for Flint as he is for her.
The plot is rife with uncertainties as Dani is resolved in the status quo of her life. Flint is persistent and determined to show her she deserves all the happiness and that he is the one to ensure it.
Overall, Doctor Heartbreak resolves the heartbreak Dani's running created through the accident that brings Flint and Dani together again. These two truly earned their much deserved HEA.

This second chance romance was one that holds you captivated by the storyline, characters and their journey. Dani and Flint have a chemistry and connection that just can't be ignored and you can feel deep under your skin. Their story is one that has a few little unexpected things arise and has you glued to the pages and unable to put this one down.

Well, this was a great book. Dan I is on the mend after the train collision that could have killed her and Henry. But, with the Grace of God they survived. Dr. Flint is taking good care of her and himself as well. Their relationship blooms and everything turns out for the betterment of all.

Page- turner!!

This story is short and sweet. The characters are developed and the plot of the story is engaging that you have to read this in one go.

Dr Flint, does not pay attention to any of the ladies flirting with him. If anyone does the pursuing it would be him. The one person who could turn his head slipped away the morning after a beautiful night together. Flint knows that they both felt the insane chemistry that night, but he does not understand why she disappeared the morning.

Dani has been living in a void for the last few years. The only thing she thinks about are her family obligations especially those to her sweet little Henry. The only time she can remember feeling alive recently was that night with the guy at the bar. But she ran away before he woke up in the morning.

When Dani shows up in Flint's ER, he sees this as chance to make sure that she knows he wants to be in her life. Will these two who have such amazing chemistry together but are not sure about relationships know how to handle the connection that they have?

Doctor Heartbreak is my first book by D M Davis, I am now going to look for more of her work.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Romantic, Steamy, Wonderful characters

Wow! You just know when it's right!

Flint is a Neurologist at the local hospital. He met Dani one night at a bar when they were both alone and drinking because of their sorrow. They had one spectacular night together but in the morning, she was gone. He never forgot her.

Now 8 months later he is being paged to come to the ER because of a train wreck. As patients are being brought in on gurnies, he is designated to a woman who is brought in who is gripping a young boy so tight yet she is unconscious. He lifts the long red hair from her face to see her head injury and notices it's his Dani, the little runner.

When they check on the little boy they find out he's fine. He then says his aunt Dani saved him. Now Doctor Flint has to work to save his Dani.

Such a great story. You learn how Dani has been staying with her brother in law and nephew since her sister Lucy's murder and how she feels responsible. Flint is amazing and does all he can to help Dani and bring his soul mate home.

Enjoy!

This is the short but sweet story Dani and Flint. They met in a bar and shared a passionate night together but she disappeared before he woke. Flint hasn’t stopped dreaming of the mysterious woman who rocked his world but when she shows up un his ER after an accident, he’s not going to let her get away again. Dani has other ideas though. She’s carrying the guilt of her sister’s death so Dani plans to dedicate her life to her nephew and brother-in-law. This is a quick read and very steamy.

Sweet book.

I enjoyed this book a lot. Flint was swoon worthy and was head over heels for Dani. Dani’s life had fallen apart and she was struggling to justify her happiness. This story would have been a 5 star read for me but there was ow drama that just didn’t fit into the story. It felt so out of place.

Safety and Spoilers
Safe. No om drama. Ex hookup of H’s starts calling the H and near the end shows up with a baby she says is his. Learn in the epilogue it wasn’t his. It just seemed out of place and not needed. Neither were virgins and both were celibate during their 8 month separation.

Flint is a neurologist who is working in the ER when a patient is brought in after an accident. He is surprised to see that she is the same woman he spent one night with months earlier and has regretted that she left without giving him a way to contact him. The one thing he does know is that he isn’t about to let her walk out of his lie a second time.

Dani is determined to be there for her family as she tries to deal with the guilt and regrets she has about the past. She doesn’t believe that she has room in her life for Flint or deserves the happiness he can give her, but he is determined to prove her wrong.

The characters are captivating and Dani’s nephew Henry is a scene stealer. Hot chemistry and all the feels as Flint fights for a second chance with Dani.

I've always been a sucker for medical romances. A hot man in scrubs just does something for me. I was so incredibly excited when this series was announced.

I loved Flint and Dani! You realize the past of their one night together while seeing what the future is on the horizon. Flint was the typical man of I'm not going to get into a relationship...until he meets his little runner.

Dani and what she went through absolutely broke my heart. One of her traumas would have been enough but the second one. Man...she was so strong with what she had been through.

I loved the chemistry between the two. I also enjoyed the fact that it wasn't just sex between the two of them. You could feel all of their emotions. Henry completely melted my heart with his old soul and the way he loved his aunt.

A story of second chances, instant connection, and so much heat you need a fan to cool off. You love the characters and want to just give them a nudge in the right direction. It’s one story you will start and read it within a few hours…Needing to know how it all turns out. I also found a new to me author that I look forward to reading more of.

I would consider this an amazing fast burn. You won't only fall in love with Flint but little Henry is just adorable. The are some rest jerking moment, some when you want to tell at Richard, Flint and Dani yet there are a lot of great moments. You have to genuinely love Emily also.

Start of a series

I only have one complaint it took her way to many times of back and fourth about being with H, I don't care for that in books it's to much. Henry was a cute little boy a little old for his age he talked like a teenager sometimes. A little ow drama nothing to big.

sweet story to cleanse your reading pallet

This was a sweet romance to warm your heart. Little Henry will steal the show though. If you read dark romance or stories with a lot of angst, this story is a nice break from that. Insta-love but life issues to overcome first. This was a great bedtime read to give you pleasant dreams and a warm heart.

I loved Dani and Flint's story. So sexy and heartwarming. The story wasn't that long but packed a lot into it. So glad Richard stepped up to the plate as he was taking advantage of Dani. However 4 kids with a 5th possibly on way? Wow 😃😃

This book is part of the Doctors of Eastport General series. They can all be read as standalone books. Flint and Dani meet and had a one night stand. Now eight months later there she is holding a little boy on a gurney in his E.R.. Turns out the little boy is her nephew. He isn't going to let her slip through his fingers a second time. This time he will be sure they can contact each other. Dani's sister died and she feels responsible and now lives her life for her nephew and brother in law. Flint understands but asks if she is never supposed to have a life of her own ever again? Dani is stuck between how she feels for Flint and the guilt she feels for her sister's death. I felt for Dani while reading this book. Also a little angry for her. Her brother in law does abuse Dani's guilt in some cases. He takes for granted that she will just be there to take care of his son and doesn't think about her feelings at all. I think he may even blame her a little. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books in this series.

3.75. The storyline was good. Selfless FMC looking after her sister’s family following her passing. Then running into her one-night-stand in the ER was swoony. Him calling her “Baby” upon recognizing her from their hookup 8 months before.

Dani’s nephew stole the book! He was the cutest, sweetest, old soul there ever was. Little match maker. He and “Aunt Dee” had a very special relationship that was so endearing. But his newfound affection for Flint gave me all the feels. 🥹 “Take care of our girl” *sign* Adorableness!

My issues with the writing though is where my lower rating mainly comes from. There were abrupt paragraph changes that had me confused for a second who was talking or who was new tot the scene. But other than that I enjoyed this quick little story.
