1979 - Perennial Library - Paperback - 1st Edition - How to Read Tarot Cards - By Doris Chase Doane & King Keyes - (Orig. Tarot-Card Spread Reader) - Authors are 2 of the most reknown astrological-occult subjects - New - rare Edition - Collectible - Great Holiday Gift Idea
This book had a lot of esoteric language that a novice, such as myself, wouldn't necessarily understand. I had to look up a lot of different words. Additionally, I couldn't find what the different symbols on the individual tarot cards (that were displayed at the end of the book) b/c they were so specific to the given cards. I think that some of that has to do w/how old the book is; it was published in the 1970s.
However, I liked the examples of the different spreads & the different situations that were explained.
Even though this book is a little old, I was able to use most of the information it contains. I'm teaching myself to read tarot cards, and I'm also working on a book, in which the main character reads tarot cards.
I don't know how to rate or review this book - it's honestly just a reference book for tarot card readings. It's got different spreads and when you would use which one, and it's got explanations for each card, and it's got some information about astrological signs and stuff. Something that will definitely come in useful for a novel I may one day pull up from my pile of first drafts and rewrite, which deals a lot with this stuff, so something I'll be referencing in the future, so, I guess, that's a point in its favor.
