Love Scotland? Highlanders? How about Vikings? Then this exciting romance is for you!
Frustration and hatred welled up in Iain’s throat and he groaned, thrashing. He knew full well that it would do nothing to loosen his bonds, but his anger was too intense to ignore. His every movement caused discomfort and pain to spike through his battered body. “Let me go!” he shouted at his female captors in vain ...
Something cold and hard closed around his neck. “No!” he screamed, but it was useless. Helpless as he was, the shield maiden easily clamped the heavy cast iron shackle around his neck. A slave collar. Death would have been better. Would they torture him for sport?
In an instant Iain's world had been flipped upside down; torn from his beloved Scotland and spirited away by sea to a strange, barren and unforgiving land. In order to survive he must now come to terms with the inner demons that plague his dreams, but how? Who are these hardened female warriors - with their striking blonde hair and lust for blood - that now control his fate? Why does his heart betray him so, every time he sees the one -- Liv -- the seductively beautiful barbarian that controls his fate.
"Obey: The Shield Maiden's Highlander" is a historical romance with a Viking - Highlander twist! Guaranteed to get your blood boiling and captivate your imagination.

This is the 2nd book in a series of 4 that tells the story of Iain and Liv. Iain is taken as a slave after seeing his brother, a monk, being murdered. He refuses to submit to the role expected of him. The language unknown to him, the beating so painful that he thinks he will pretend to be obedient but think about escaping in the back of his mind. Liv makes sure he's treated well once she gets home. Another thrall teaches him the customs and language of his masters. Iain finds himself beginning to trust Liv, and Liv has to think about him more often than is good for her. Distracted by her thoughts of Iain, she realizes too late that there is an attack on her clan. She returns injured and Iain has to take care of her. And even if Iain doesn't want it, he saves her from certain death
The story will continue and gives the reader enough twists and reasons to be and remain interested
I received an ARC from the writer however, this review is given voluntarilyI
I knew when I started this series that it was going to be good and I was not wrong. It just gets better and better. The story of Iain, a highlander captured by Vikings and became a ‘thrall’ to Liv, a female warrior. As his feelings for Liv grow is it because of love or because she is cultivating his acceptance? Fiona truly recreates the period with rich descriptions and characters. Again she leaves us wanting more of Iain and Liv. I received an ARC and am leaving a totally voluntary, unbiased and honest review.
The monastery at Iain’s village was attacked and pillaged. In the process, Iain sees his brother, Callum, a monk killed. Iain fights back and is captured by a Viking named Liv. She takes him back to her village as her slave. Iain is amazed by how much bigger the Vikings are than his people. He learns to watch and wait for his time to escape until Liv is brought back from a raid injured. Why does he care so much for this Viking? I received a free ARC copy for my honest and voluntary review.
I am voluntarily leaving this review. This short story is a series that will leave you on a cliffhanger, but it’s worth it!
Iain finds himself battling with missing home and not trusting anyone. While Liv battles to keep her clan with everything they need. Their nightly talks are starting to grow on Iain.
This is a great fast read that will leave you wanting for more. As for me onto the next one!
This is the second part of The Shield Maiden's Highlander. This book is about the hostage and the situation therein. The saga continues in the third portion "Desire". I received a complimentary copy from the author. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Wow, this book was such an amazing read that I could not put it down until I finished the last page, and proceeded to read it in one day. It moves along at a pace which is perfect for the story. The characters are amazing and you cannot help but fall in love with them and the story grabs you keeping you reading till the end. This book is a must read, there is no doubt about it.
Really enjoying these historical novels. The second in this series sees Iain badly injured and captured by the Viking raiders who attacked the monastery and killed the unarmed monks, including his brother Callum. Iain is taken by the raiders as a slave. Over time he begins to develop feelings for his captor, Liv. I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.
After Enslaved, I was not a big fan of Liv after she and her clan captured Iain. However, here in Obey my feelings for her changed and I am now really getting invested in how the relationship between her and Iain progresses. This enemies to lovers story had me in its grips and I can't wait to read the next part in the series.
I started with Obey and was a "little" lost until I found out it's the 2. part after Enslaved! All in all a good read, short and the ancient language was a bit harder to understand.
It’s an interesting tale! However, I dislike having to go from book to book in order to complete the story! The “books” are short, only a few chapters in each!
This is the story of Iain and Liv. Another wonderful an fantastic adventure from this author. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is an ongoing Novella, Iain is a captive, a slave, weak injured and confused. Doesn’t understand what is being said, adjusting and learning to stay alive and recover from his injuries. The goal to escape!
I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story.
