After moving every year as a child, Quinn's settled in Dos Fuentes, the coastal California town that his father’s family had lived in since it was established 200 years ago. One of his favorite parts of Christmas is helping to set up the charity fund-raising festival they put on every year. Until Anna decides to change things. Anna is a city girl from the east and full of ideas of ways to “improve” an event that hasn't changed in years—which is just the way Quinn likes it. Driven to prove herself to her new boss, Anna is frustrated by Quinn’s opposition to her ideas. Will they be able to get past their misconceptions of each other to pull off the festival, and find out if there’s something more between them than business?
I loved the Northern California town of Dos Fuentes. The people were friendly, and the Christmas celebrations seemed like something out of a Hallmark movie. Anna and Quinn get off on the wrong foot, but have an adorable relationship. I loved their dates, and the teasing from their friends and family.
Content: clean (some kissing, no language, no violence)
The first in a series of contemporary romances centered on a Christmas festival, this story is a typical boy meets girl trope that takes the best from this genre and gives it a different look.
When Anna encounters Quinn for the first time it isn't under the best of circumstances since he has just taken out her electricity and she is forced to show up to her first day of her new job late. Then they are assigned to work together and over time they not only warm up to each other, but start to develop feelings. But Anna doesn't intend to stay in Dos Fuentes. It's only a stepping stone to her dream job in a bigger city, which complicates things. Quinn in the meantime is struggling to lay down his roots and create a home for himself in the one town that has been consistent throughout his life. There's a theme of family and forgiveness and getting a fresh start. I loved the characters in this book and the sweet love story that evolves.
A good clean romance: I would put it in the enemies to lovers genre. Anna and Quinn has a rough start and eventually start a relationship. Will her ambitions be the end before it starts? Or will she leave Quinn for a more prestigious job. I really enjoyed reading it and would recommend it.
I love all of Heather's books. They are great easy clean reads. I enjoy the characters. In this book I can definitely see me having a Quinn, Anna and their friends in my life. I am always sad when the books are over
This was a great quick read. I really enjoyed Quinn and Anna. They definitely didn't hit it off to start with but when they gave each other a chance they formed a great friendship that grew into love.
