A fun chapter of Dan Slott's Fantastic Four, I'm glad I picked up this single issue. With Reed Richards' recent buzz in the movies, and costarring the upcoming arch-MCU villain Kang, this is the right time to read even if I didn't wait for the graphic novel. And clever time travel stories are always, as they say, timeless :)

I love the Fantastic Four. I loved that this monster issue gave some significant attention to the 90s Fantastic Four team that got me started reading comics in the first place. (My first issues of Fantastic Four were right when the Thing first got his face slashed and he started wearing that helmet. Now, when I see that helmet, I feel a nostalgic sense of relief.)

Still, after spending so much time and energy writing a love letter to the continuity of the Fantastic Four...

This is a lot of fun, especially for a lifelong fan. The main story kept me interested and was full of charming throwbacks although I would have liked to have seen some of the other characters in the extended Fantastic Four family who are displayed on the beautiful 60th anniversary cover.

The follow-up stories were okay. Nothing terrible but they did feel like filler where much more worthy content could have been placed. I don't think anyone who has been reading the Fantastic Four for even a few years needs another retelling of their origin. Solid anniversary issue but a little bit too much mediocrity towards the end.

Read this because I was supporting Jason Loo's work (which you should definitely check out!). I'm not a big Fantastic Four fan, but this edition was entertaining and was still easily accessible even without having read other comics in the series. It's made me want to read the whole series!

A really fun issue with a strong narrative. Lackluster art for the majority of it is a slight downside.
I especially liked the retelling of the origin story in the final chapter. It’s tricky to retool and update things, but they really did a great job.

I read a review of this story that complained about too many Kangs mucking up the celebration. If anything Kang's incursion into their history and the response it brought was perfect. We got to see the Four at their best and worst reminding us that they are a family first. The revelation at the end was also a doozy and will lead them into new areas of excitement.
