Madeline is one of the thousands of slaves captured by the Requiem Dragon Horde to assist them in maintaining the mountain complex where the 200 Dragons and their 5000 slaves reside. Maddie had been kidnapped by the Dragon Lord Hael, when she was a mere 6 years old. 10 years on she is building the courage to finally escape back to her home.
However on her 16th birthday, Hael has other plans for her, least of all which allow her to escape from the beautifully haunting Requiem mountains...
I write dark romance, dark fantasy, science fiction, paranormal and erotic genres. Listening to music helps me write prolifically as it fuels my imagination to be limitless.
I'm the author of Frankincense City, Twin Dragons, Lycan Soulmates, Abducted by Vampires, Blas Archangels, Wolf Dominion, Kingdom of Alma and more.
The Twin Dragons series is published on the GALATEA app, where you'll find immersive experiences ( Dragon's Princess {2 Seasons} & Requiem City {5 Seasons} ), including audiobooks and translations into multiple languages.
So I'm just going to preface this by saying I understand this is a wattpad book so maybe I shouldn't take it as seriously as I am but this is my review and I subjected myself to this garbage so deal with it. (Side note: I really don't understand how most of the reviews of this book - despite there not being many - are mainly 5 stars? Maybe the people who hated it just didn't want to think about it again, I know I don't)
The first thing I'm gonna talk about is the characters. In my opinion the two most important things for a story to succeed are a good plot and good characters, its better if it has both but only having one can be fine. Unfortunately for this story it had neither.
Maddie, our main girl, was absolutely insufferable. Her attitude was just wayyy too bratty and annoying (which I'll come back to in the romance section). Her mood swings, along with the two love interests', were utterly ridiculous. One minute she'll be the one beginning the teasing but then they'll say one thing that wasn't even that bad and there will be steam coming out of her ears. I would find specific examples but I don't want to read through that book again to find any. Additionally, she was a Mary Sue, she has some kind of power, linked to the fact she's a Dragon Slayer, and she learns to harness it to some extent immediately, with no assistance despite her father and brother training for years. Her training is also completely skipped over, with one line in the final chapter saying she trained with her brother.
Hael is probably my least favourite character, and that's saying something. He was incredibly arrogant throughout the entire book, which I do understand is kind of the point but you can't make him a love interest if that's the case, and his mood swings, like Maddie's, were just infuriating. He would start teasing her first, she'd say something in kind then he'd threaten her, it was horrifying and just sad. His arrogance also almost got him killed twice in the novel, first when he allowed a sword dripping with one of the known poisons to dragons cut him, and second when he shook hands with a trained Dragon Slayer. I get it, he believes he is better than humans and underestimates them, but then why does my POV character care that hes dying? Because I sure as hell don't.
Lochness is quite similar. I will admit that I read this book when I was younger and I had fond thoughts of Lochness when I thought about revisiting the story. Now I've read it I have no idea why. His sweet moments with Maddie and Thea were fine but it just went against the very essence of his character and it was just so jarring in my mind. In fact, even in one of the supposed 'sweet moments' he literally slaughters half the forest so no. Like Hael, he just threatens and tries to control Maddie constantly and has serious jealousy issues, in one of the parts of the story he is walking her through the mountain where they live (on a LEASH) and he literally lights peoples feet on fire if they look at her.
I don't have much to say about the side characters except they were all incredibly annoying. Darshan, while being a good addition because of the representation he provides, has the same recklessness as Maddie and so also becomes infuriating to read about. Adara is a more accurate representation of dragons in this story but that just made me hate her, Layla on the other hand I kind of liked but she still had insane mood swings that just made her intolerable. Thea was just a big flip flop, being mad at Maddie one minute then being her best friend, wanting to kill Lochness one minute then trusting him, she was boring. Darren annoyed me from start to finish, his arrogance was just the worst to read about, like everyone elses' in this book, and his story is just left hanging when there was something that could've made him an actual character (I'll come back to this in plot). Mason was similarly not developed at all, he was a dragon slayer then he was like 'nah I'm gonna willingly become a dragon slave to help my sister' like why?? It makes no sense
The villains, yes multiple, were incredibly one dimensional and only there for a little bit to add some spice to the story to make it seem like an actual story and not a dressed up porno. Xander, Theron and Ragnor all only existed as threats for a couple of pages before they were increidbly easily vanquished so the threats and sex could continue.
Now, the other most important aspect of a story, the plot.
It was non existent. The end.
I kid, but it was abysmall honestly. I'd say 70% of this book was just Hael and/or Lochness threatening Maddie with various sexual things and chasing her around the mountain as they play cat and mouse. The rest was the bare bones of a maybe interesting story. The most potentially interesting thing is the fact that Mason and Darren were twins, so Darren was also Maddie's brother. Unfortunately, that is revealed in one of the final five chapters and it is not resolved at all. It could have been a really interesting storyline and given Darren specifically some needed character depth and growth. He was incredibly one dimensional, just existing as an annoying sex slave for Adara, but this was something he would've had to grow to accept and it would've reshaped his relationship with Maddie. It would've been interesting to see how all three of them overcame it. But we get nothing, just one line about how Mason is adjusting to living in the mountains.
Also, the last chapter and epilogue was just cheap and lazy exposition and set up for the next book, but it was done so clumsily that it didn't make me interested at all. It just introduced a bunch of new characters and a new place so quickly and expected us to care.
Now for the romance section, seeing as how the book gave up so much plot for the love story for the ages.
Before we get onto the romance I want to say that I did like the characterisation of dragons in theory. They can transform into massive dragons, live as royalty and basically have no weaknesses, it makes sense for them to be prideful and regard themselves as better than humans and treat them badly due to it. There is even a conversation that a competant writer could have around that: does having all of these strengths make it right for them to regard themselves this way? However, you cannot have those characteristics while also trying to write a love story as they make the dragons in question just seem fickle and unhinged.
So the romance fell flat on its face. There were a couple of sweet moments, and one of the bad guys was made out to be a rapist so the dragons are good, right? No, Hael and Lochness threatened her too many times in this book, mostly stating that they were going to do stuff to her whether she liked it or not. Uhm, that is literal sexual assault, that's not sexy. A lot of the time Maddie said she was scared of what they were going to do too, I don't want to read that before going into a romantic scene.
A seeming cliche in this kind of romance story is the female character acts as a brat towards the male so that females don't read her and just see her being immediately submissive. This goes to explain why Maddie is as insufferable as she is, however it makes both her character impossible to read about, and it makes the supposed romance impossible to read about seeing as she's so resistant to it.
Also this story kind of justifies pedophilia, which made me feel absolutely disgusting when I first read it. Hael kidnaps Maddie when she was six as she threw a rock at him or something, I don't remember, and he recounts this to Maddie and says that from that moment he wanted to break her (by threatening her and having sex with her). That would be absolutely disgusting, but seeing as she's his mate it's fine because he was always going to sleep with her anyway. No. No no no no no. That entire sentence could've been left out of the story and nothing would've changed except me feeling slightly less ill.
Overall, terrible book, terrible characters. Would not recommend to anyone unless you were trying to willingly torture yourself

I could not finish the book. The writing style itself is not the reason for the bad review, but the way that BDSM has been incorporated into the story.
All kinds of sexual acts need to be consensual this includes BDSM!!! In this book the protagonist is trained to want it. There is no conversation about boundaries at least not until the part I have read and there had not been established a safe word. To me this seemed abusive and i could not read more of it.
If you have a problem with that kind of content do NOT read this book.
Have to admit, was 10x better than I expected it to be…lol, I’m not much into reading about dragons, but something caught my interest and not only was I reading this, I was spending points to read more (in Galatea, and I was very, very, very pissed off with how con-artisty short they would be) 💚Hale & Lochness🖤 yummy twin Dragons are typical OTT Dragon Lord/Rogue Assh*les in Medieval Times I believe, Madeline comes off as such a Stupid, Stupid Girl, turns out most of the time she legit chooses the hard way of things..lol Eventually when there was some fun naughty times, something was lacking, sorry but on average for those 3 parts, it’s only x1🌶️ NOT x3!!! 🤢🤮I was actually grossed out: And I’m guessing they don’t do tetanus shots (for the used metal-cock chastity belt they’re gonna make her wear -gross- as I highly doubt they get new toys for their sex-slaves…) Will have to read Book 1 😅, and I will be a patient Gal and collect the chapters to then read without annoyance of 6hr+ between itty-bitty “chapters!! 📚Great writing, entertaining, amusing & surprisingly addictive!!!⭐️ I absolutely approve of Nessy’s way to punish those that did harm towards Madeline, how else will others learn Not to?!!
❓Questions: -why didn’t Nessy feel her pain like Hael did when she was being tortured? -wouldn’t/shouldn’t she have scars all over from said torture??
The abuse was hard to deal with. Plus this character went from being modest to running around naked. I would have loved this book more. If the main character was able to stay away for a couple years. Like staying with her dad&brother. Learning how to control her powers. And had a few moments with her learning. Plus the constant singing just made me skip over those parts. Because there was just too many songs. Also these characters never bath. So I kept thinking about how stinky they all were. Yuck. And the last chapters were clearly rushed. They could have easily been a start to a new book. Or at least a better story line in this book. That could have started way earlier.

Finally i get to rate this book! The story line good, and spicy. But the FL takes away from the story because she acts like a wild donkey!! At first her sassy and defiance is understandible and funny but becomes annoying! Her character is very childish, all she does is run around like dennis the menace, causing problems, getting herself and others in trouble. Her character declares herself smart but really she stupid and doesent know when to shut the heck up, even when shes a head, like she purposely irritates the two ML just for the heck of it.
MY GOSHHH... I don't know why, I seriously don't know... I must be tapped. I knew this would be a good read but OMD I did not expect it to be as amazing as it was! I LOVED EVERY WORD OF THIS!!! It's probably my favourite in the series. It is absolutely amazing, the writing skill and just the storyline will hook you in. Loved this! I Keep going back to read it again and again... Truly enjoyed it.
This had so much potential. Took me over a year to finish all books included in it. There were parts of Maddie I didn’t enjoy, along with how her mates treated her and vice versa. Loved all the supporting characters for the most part. Very much enjoyed the beginning of Devorex & Hazels story but was completely blindsided with Zayda being a part of their mate-bond….she should have had her own mate. It was very much out of left field her being brought in at the last chapter or two.
No words to describe it! I absolutely LOOOOVED reading this!! Its one of my favourites, It was just such a good read. Every single word has you hooked and eager for more... I truly enjoyed reading this! It was addictive beginning to end... really worthwhile
Easy read, page turner. Hoped the main character would have evolved and matured into a more complex and mature character. Enough surprises to keep me engaged and some hot sex scenes. Liked the ocasional other perspectives it was written from. Wanted more of those.
I love the plot twist of the two dragon brothers and Maddie as their mate. They are two sides of the same coin, and Maddie is strong willed and smart. She loves them deeply. Can’t wait to see what happens next with the Dragon Lord Althor. The writing is excellent and very detailed. Quick reading.
The writing is really good and the story was enjoyable. I do wish that their was more consent but she is supposed to be his sex slave, so I can’t exactly be upset

Written way better than most other books on the Galatea app. The character development was well done. The time skip could have been made a bit more clear.
Some of the scenes was a little rough for me, but I found myself not able to put the book down until I finished. The book wasn’t bad. I enjoyed reading it. It’s definitely an easy read.
