The Flow State refers to effortless High Performance in Business and Sports. Reality gets a liquid or fluid quality, I perceive the environment as energy or vibration, time slows down and space stretches. This book teaches you how various waysto enter the flow state, using examples from playing Tennis and conducting his several Businesses. The book is full oftechniques and exercises that propel you to a higher state of consciousness and ability. Whereas the authors previousbooks emphasized conscious creation, this one emphasizes the A state of surrender and release, where youlet your subconscious do most of the work for you.
i know flowstate is not super well studied, and i can see how it might be alluring to compare it to magic or a superhuman state
… but jeez louise dude dont claim that being in flow was responsible for you predicting a massive stock price increase for a company youd never heard of, or that a mother ran a 100m at a speed “that even the worlds fastest sprinter could not have accomplished” to catch her child falling off of a table
i could not continue after such genuinely posited anecdotes
I'm bored. I'm half way through and I have decided to close the book. The only thing I have found in this book that may be of value are some of the exercises. This book discusses the flow state predominately through examples, most of which I have heard before, the book promises to consider altered state of conciousness, I haven't read anything about altered states of conciousness besides a definition of the seven levels given, maybe I'm putting this book down too soon but I have so many exciting books on my 'to read' list, I can't justify continuing with this one which I find throughly unexciting.
I read this quite slowly so maybe I do not remember everything. Certain parts spoke to me a lot as they do in these books. A lot of it is as it is from the previous books, but the principles are applied to the concept of flow. The explanation in the book has proven true to my life. There is way more joy in letting the universe show you the way, in the doing, experiencing, and in the empty space. I am gonna think of certain concepts for a longer period of time, and keep them in mind when the appropriate situations arise.
I chuckled when "Pronoia" was mentioned because I learned it from some new age song not too long ago too.
I connect with the thoughts on instructions so much, and I never noticed somehow that it was this way despite how I work on myself. All the photos, videos, and texts that I wrote were without any instruction, and they bring me the most joy. When I tried to apply principles or read books on how to do it later I was surprised that they offered nothing that I did not know intuitively. So that rings very true to me. Other than that I did use to read books on my own too, although they weren't that cool because the library did not let me read certain books, and people only bought me children's books. I had to revive my love for reading over a long period of time. I know the author loves sci-fi the most, and I haven't gotten to reading a lot of it though I really loved the Starmaker suggestion in Levels of Energy.
Whenever I read Dodson's books I get to feel like there is so much to experience, so much to do, and so much to discover. I get the feeling that the universe is infinite. I was rushing quite a bit when reading other books, but I am slowing down, and spending a ton more time on nature. It's also almost summer so there is that.
The shifting of the states of being reminds of breathwork right now. As in that is a very physical application of that. I was happy to see muscles being mentioned as that is something I really took notice of right now, it makes everything so much easier.
Last book in his "Success, Business and Wealth Attraction" book series and definitely last book by him that I'll read. In 70% of this book he brags about how he plays tennis good as if he's ranked high on ATP. "I'm losing 0-4 and then I just get in flow state and I win 6-4" "coach tells us what to do and I tell him don't tell me what to do I'll realize myself, I get in flow state and I'm better than others who got instructions" He says you don't need to learn any skill from someone or somewhere but you can learn everything by yourself just by getting into flow state, so you don't need to learn to drive car, just sit at driver wheel for first time in your life and you'll drive it perfect.
"I get in flow state and buy bitcoin and it goes up next day by 30%" "I'm not into stock trading but I get in flow state and buy random stocks and they all shoot up, everyone asks me how I do it, but I just tell them I don't do anything"
You won't learn anything from this book, only his bragging how he wins at tennis with no effort.
