JASMINE One thing stands between me and my destiny. Jack Harlowe.
They say people who hurt others don’t love themselves. Jack must be the one exception.
He loves his power. His billion dollar kingdom. His icy blue eyes and wavy dark locks. Just as much as he loves himself, he loves getting his way.
And he got it. But now I’m back to live the life I deserve and his grudge is so deep he thinks I can’t swim that far.
What Jack doesn’t know is that once you’ve dropped into a fifty foot wave, nothing scares you. If he wants to be my one and only enemy, good luck to him. I always ride to win.
JACK I swear I’m not cruel but I’ll let her believe it.
I usually get my way with no more than a nudge. People are naturally worried about what I can do to them. My Dad owns this town and almost every job in it.
Not Jasmine.
She isn’t scared of anything. Her single track mind and body, fearless even in the face of death. Her strength is my kryptonite but also her weakness. She thinks she doesn’t need saving.
Boy, was she wrong.
But now she’s back and I’m stuck in the middle of a scandal. Choose Jasmine? Or the Harlowe family reputation?
SJ Cavaletti is a contemporary romance author. She lives on a farm in England with her husband, three kids, ponies, cat, dogs, chickens and likely many more animals by the time you read this.
When she’s not writing, she can be found hiking and swimming in the sea. Like every respectable woman she also loves drinking champagne and eating half of every chocolate in a truffles box.
POV: Dual Tropes: Friends to enemies to lovers, British billionaire hero x Surfer heroine
This was my first read from this author and the writing was great! The back and forth banter was definitely entertaining. Only Jasmine follows Jack & Jasmine + their path to love and redemption. Jasmine was definitely not one to back down from a fight but how far is Jack willing to push?
While the main “conflict” did get fuzzy in some areas I felt it still worked with the main enemies to lovers plot line. I would have loved to see more of their relationship once fully developed but then it wouldn’t fall under the slow burn category.
Very slow burn. I loved this story! A fierce female lead and a man who loves that fierceness. I loved the different POVs and being able to understand why they each reacted the way they did. Felix culpa.
We got to know Jasmine in the 'Take me home' series, she felt true to the picture I had of her. She is true to her self and strong. Jack, I have mixed feelings about him. But in the end he did good.
The only thing that made me hesitate between 4 or 5 stars, was the tension. There wasn't enough time to amp up the tenstion between them. I wanted that extra spark, I still felt it but I wanted a little more. It's a great slow burn book and I love the writing style. It also felt real, not "this only happens in fantasies" kind of way, more in a "this could happen in the real world", and I absolutley love that.
The dialouge was great, and I love that the Uyu guys was included. It connected the books so it felt seamless. Now I have to convince my husband that I need all of these books on my shelf.
*I received a ARC of this book for a honest review, my opinions are my own*
Could not put this book down! I read it in one day. The back and forth between the main characters is great. I loved seeing an alpha female role from Jasmine. This book has Lust. Hate. Redemption. Love. I can’t wait for Mr. Harlowe in January 2022!
It's a great story about two people who become friends at the begining of the book, then secretly fall in love with each other, and after an unfortunate event and because they are both pigheaded, they go separate ways, due to different circumstances, for years and after this period, they are forced to deal with each other again.
It's full of love, friendship,love-hate, struggle and fights for what one's want. It also has a cool playlist!
I've received an ARC copy of this ebook from the author and the opinions in this review are my own and freely given!
