The longer they’re missing, the higher chance they’re all dead.

Ledger’s father and many Balfourian men have been taken prisoner by a bloodthirsty tribe of savages. If they are to be rescued, Ledger is going to need an army. But there are precious few left as he struggles to step into the leadership role that’s been thrust upon him.

Tolliver is ready to answer the call to rescue the men of Balfour but his wife, Kava, asks him to stay home. He fights everything within himself to keep his family alive and together.

Alouette has secret plans of her own after the loss of her father and betrothed. To avoid hurting anyone again, she wishes to escape on Ellery and leave behind everyone she’s ever known and loved, especially Ledger.

From an award-winning author, Heather Trim, comes the brilliant finale of the Wingbound Series where family means you’re never a lost cause.

An ebook provided by the author in an exchange for an honest review.

I've been reviewing these books since the first came out and I've been loving them from start. So, I'm not surprised that I loved this book as well. It took me ages to read it because college put me in such a huge slump, but it didn't in any way affect how I liked the book.

Like the two before, this one was a whole journey as well, which is one of the reasons I love them so much. In reality, I'm on my couch but while reading this books I'm in this fantasy world, traveling with these characters as if I'm one of them. They make me feel like reality literally doesn't exist. I love that!

The story was slowish but there was so much going on between the characters that I didn't seem to mind the pace it was all going. I also, surprisingly, started to like Hollis who I didn't like from book one. She was literally the only thing in books I didn't like, but in this one she kinda warmed up to me.

I loved everything about this book, I loved the plot, the way it was written, the characters (both new and old). I loved the character development, how they changed and grew. And the ending was just wonderful!

I highly recommend if you need a fantasy that doesn't have your usual tropes as the golden boy, enemies to loves, love triangles, the special snowflake etc. (Nothing wrong with those but c'mon give us something else)

*Thanks to Heather Trim for sending me an advanced copy of this book!*

My absolute favorite thing about this series is is Ellery, the floating island. There are just so many interesting things about it, including how other groups of people in this world react to it.

One thing that surprised me is the span (pun not intended) of time this book took place over! I mostly enjoyed seeing what happened in such a long amount of time, but I did also feel like this caused the book overall to feel slightly rushed. There were a couple plot points that just didn't interest me, so while I was reading, I wished that those were left out in order to expand on other elements of the story.

In the previous books, I've more or less liked most the characters, but I was unusually annoyed by a few of them in this book. Some of the actions or decisions the characters made felt so unreasonable or had no thought behind them. This was mostly in the first portion of the book, though, and by the end, I was really interested in the internal struggle of one of the main characters.

I think this was overall a good ending to the series! One of the things I appreciate about the series overall is that it always kept me on my toes and didn't ever feel typical or ordinary. I loved the epilogue, especially all the throwbacks to the start of the series.

Well, that was amazing! I have enjoyed every bit of the third and last installment of this series. Wingspan is truly a worthy ending to the trilogy and I loved every second of it.
Wingspan is surprising, emotional and full of moments you just get sucked into it while reading. We get to see how it fares for Kava and Tolliver, for Ledger and Hollis, for Alouette. And you see the struggles and insecurites they live with and there's always someone you can identify with during the story.
I mean, you already get sucked into it by seeing this gorgeous cover! And then the story offers you so much more. You can really see Heather took an effort in pouring her ideas and thoughts into this story and she doesn't leave any loose ends. The story finishes very satisfying and I couldn't help myself but smiling at the end of it. It's a shame the story ends. I would've loved to see more of this world she created. We experience growth, and pain, and joy throughout the story and it really gives the story it's completion.

Heather's writing style is easy and rich. You can envision yourself easily in her world.

Thank you, Heather, for asking me to read all of your books. I loved every single one of them!

I have just loved loved loved this series! I get totally involved and "feel" each of the characters. This is a make-believe land, but there are some similarities to our world. The idea that a huge rock is floating in the sky like a cloud and has people living on it is amazing. Not to mention that they have wings. And dragons. Yeah! dragons! They have some needs and conflicts with the people on the ground whose reasons have gotten buried and forgotten over the years, and evolved into a whole new thing. This book brings it all together, uniting generations from each race. Extremely entertaining and get lost in read. Loved it!!

This book has a good amount of twist and turns. I really enjoyed reading this book , it was a nice edition to the Wingbound series. I was really happy about Tolliver and Kava having a winged son and their relationship development. Alouette’s romance with Belamy was quite a surprise, I really loved it !! This was a really good read and I highly recommend it! It is very well put together and all the characters had a great happy ending... well except for Angus RIP. He was a really brave character , a little bit tense this whole book but he had every right to be. Lastly this book has a great epilogue , it was very warming and cute 😊
