This book was like a warm hug.

I enjoyed watching the relationship build between the leading lady and her love interest, and I loved watching the leading lady find her voice.

I also really appreciate a plus-sized female lead where being plus-sized isn’t her only personality trait.

Looking forward to future books by this writer!

There was something so unbelievably warm about the romance between Evie and Aaron. From the beginning, there was a sense of safety that enveloped me as a reader when Evie met Aaron. And that moment, the story unfolded in a heart-clutching, romantic, sexy, and vulnerable way. Aaron is the perfect person to break down the walls Evie built around her heart. Their love story felt extremely authentic and realistic. Evie's hesitations and Aaron's quiet-and-not-at-all-pushy persistence felt so real and relatable. You're rooting for them from their meet-cute on.

Camden captured a true cozy winter romance with found family and dialogue that kept me grinning almost the entire read ... Not to mention the sex is super hot. READ THIS BOOK.

A cozy blanket

I loved this book! It felt like a cozy blanket I could just curl up in. The characters are great and the writing just made me feel like I was a part of the group. Much like the main character felt safe with the hero, I felt safe reading the book.

3.25 I've read this because NeighbourBecci on Instagram added this book in her box. I live in Spain so the shipping fees were too much for me to get the box, but I saw that there was a plus sized woman and I really wanted to read this.
This is the first book from the author, so judging it as I would one from Rachel Gibson, Susan Elizabeth Phillips or Lisa Kleypas seems a bit unfair.
What I loved: Aaron. He was absolutely great. He's the opposite of a red flag (a green flag?) for me. Good friend, loves his family, hard-working, respectful, know what he wants, AND gets a perfect care package for his girlfriend when she has her period. I also love it when the man falls first or talks first about his feelings.
I also loved that Evie is not yur typical plus sized heroine, she was never worried about her body, it was no obstacle for her to have a sexual partner. This was, oh, so refreshing, and honestly, inspiring.
Oh, and women been friends at first sight, women helping each other 🥰

What I didn't enjoy so much, this felt too short. I needed more of their relationships, more of her going to therapy, more of her feeling home.
I didn't understand her view on life. I get she had gone through a lot in her youth, but when I learnt that she had the test done and she was negative for the gene, I felt like she shouldn't have been acting like that.
I also didn't like the fact that she was in a relationship without realizing she actually was in one. What? I mean, she was into Jane Austen. How didn't she understand her own acts was a bit silly and disappointing.

Overall, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to spend a nice couple of hours reading something light and loving.

These two are so hot. I'm actually shocked they aren't the reason for wrecking Elmdale's snow plans.

Evie is a massive introvert. She's not at all interested in forming big fundamental friendships. She just wants to do her job, until she's ready to leave again. And according to her that's going to be in one year. Which maybe was explained but I totally missed it. I think it's just because she doesn't want to put roots down, that is definitely her vibe.

But the people she works with in Elmdale? They have other plans for sure! This friend group that she finds herself pulled into have roots and offshoots and deep ties in their community. And Aaron is a frickin dreamboat! The good friends and the hottie with the body were enough to tempt Evie into their orbit, and also enough to send her into a full existential spiral.

Evie's growth was beautiful. She makes you work for it! I spent the last 30% of this book having some massive anxiety regarding Evie's future. I'm glad that she decided that roots aren't the worst thing in the world, that's for sure! Everyone deserves a community.

I’m not sure how I found this book, but as a plus sized (former) event planner from the Canadian prairies, I knew that I needed to read it. It was fine. Just fine.

It was a very realistic, normal relationship. And wow, did that bore me. What does that say about the types of romance novels I’ve been reading that a realistic relationship lost my interest? Like, they are two regular people who met through friends, were attracted to each other, got along emotionally and physically, and cared about each other. That’s a lovely relationship. But it’s not the most entertaining thing to read about.

I really liked all of the characters, main and side, and I thought they were all well developed. The plus size rep was really well done. And the sex was hot. A bit long at points for my own personal taste, but well written. By no means am I disappointed that I read this, I just wish I had loved it more than I did.

How refreshing to have a romance novel with realistic characters! Reading about the insecurities and anxiety that surrounds Evie when she starts to date brought me back to my dating days and it was one of the first novels I’ve read that really illustrated what it can be like when we’re not the cookie cutter body types that society likes to portrait. Beautiful writing, well thought out and loved the hint of spice. Can’t believe this was a debut novel! I hope we’ll see more of Evie and Aaron in a sequel :)

Set in Stone is a lovely romance novel, perfect for getting in the Christmas spirit. Come for the compelling love story, stay for the accurate depiction of winter in prairie cities and the way friends (and more-than-friends) help you make the most of it!

100% recommend for all, but especially those looking for stories with plus size heroines, good guy heartthrobs, and learning to love/trust after loss.

Such a fun romance! My favorite aspect of this book was the fact that the main character was plus sized, but it wasn't constantly talked about. She wasn't self conscious about it and didn't feel that it made her unlovable. So often these issues are the emphasis with plus sized characters so this book was a refreshing change.

4 Stars!

Set in Stone follows Evie Stone as she moves to a new city for a new job and joins a new group of friends. Aaron is a part of this friend group and has been since college, and is immediately smitten with Evie. Evie, however, isn't up for relationships, so starting something with Aaron is a bit complicated.

This cozy romance read like a warm and easy hug. Very little angst and two spicy scenes.

I loved how real this book was. It was nice to watch the relationship grow and change. I also loved how it touched on anxiety/depression and learning to find your voice. It was nice to see such supportive friends. It is very important to take stock of your life and recognize when you need to reach out.

🌶️🌶️ 2/5 spice

I felt conflicted by the FMC. At times I loved her and other times I didn't. Like I can relate to her having anxiety, but we deal with them differently so it was hard for me to process her thoughts/actions. She actually gave me anxiety while reading this. I do like that the MMC wasn't all muscle and abs and seemed closer to a real person than most MMCs I've read about. Contrary to how the FMC felt, I also like that the MMC is a fixer lol I wish he would come into my life and solve all my problems for me ;v; Other than that, I love the chemistry between the MCs and all their soft cute moments before the conflict happens.

I picked this book up because the author is in a FB book group I'm in. When she posted about it I knew I had to buy it. I was sold on plus size herione and also hero (he's not described as fat, just as a massive man). This book made me so happy. Aaron is total book boyfriend material. And I adored Evie. She was IMO very relatable. I loved the chemistry and the relationship between Aaron and Evie. This book was steamy, it was sweet, pretty low angst and just delightful. I loved the friend group and the setting of this book. There were a few things that took me out of the story but ultimately I adored this book, and will pick up whatever is next from the author.
